Nehemiah 10-11 - Covenant and Commitment

In the tenth week of Crystal Lake Church's study on Nehemiah, Pastor Joe Perrino shares from chapters 10 and 11. The sermon begins with a detailed examination of the Israelites' renewed covenant with God. Joe explains the socio-historical context of Nehemiah, emphasizing the spiritual reformation that paralleled the reconstruction of Jerusalem's walls. Key themes include the importance of covenant-making, three primary commitments by the Israelites (no intermarrying with foreigners, observing Sabbath laws, and supporting the temple), and the broader implications for modern believers. The sermon concludes with a reflection on the necessity of being faithful and ready to respond to God's call.
