"Nehemiah" - BOld Testament, Part 8

We live in a world in which words are often used to harm rather than to heal. We use words to wound rather than build up. In such a world, how do we live differently? This Sunday we concluded our series BOld Testament by looking at the prophet Nehemiah. Nehemiah's patience under pressure allowed him to be a catalyst for the blessing of God's people. Though not as well known as many other people in our series, Nehemiah's story is powerful and relevant today. Nehemiah felt a calling from God to rebuild the walls around Jerusalem and re-establish its cultural and religious life. Because the prophet took a pause to pray before he spoke to the king, God was able to use him to bless his people. Bottom line: Open your heart to God before opening your mouth to others.   Note: One error in the message to be aware of: Victor Frankl was an Austrian psychologist, not a German psychologist.
