Neighborly: Who Is My Neighbor?

from The Church at Montgomery · host The Woodlands Methodist Church

The Church at Montgomery Worship | Aaron Laird | Welcome! I’m so glad you joined us today for the sermon series Neighborly. In Matthew and Luke, an expert in the law asks Jesus to identify the greatest commandment. And Jesus replies without hesitation: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.” But then He continues beyond their request and says, “The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.”It’s interesting that He didn’t stop after revealing the first and greatest commandment. I mean, Jesus was God — the one to whom the commandment pointed — and that initial answer fully addressed the question. But then Jesus’ incredible nature is revealed in the additional response: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”God’s desire for you and me is to be the hands and feet of Christ in this world now and until Jesus returns. Join us for all three weeks of Neighborly — November 10, 17 and 24 — as we explore what it means to be a good neighbor.
