Nepal and End-Time Earthquakes

"For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in place after place." All this is but the beginning [the early pains] of the birth pangs [of the intolerable anguish]. (Matthew 24:7-8 AMP) "[God] Who removes the mountains, and they know it not when He overturns them in His anger; Who shakes the earth out of its place, and the pillars of it tremble" (Job 9:5-6 AMP) Why does God allow earthquakes?  Is it because of the refusal to obey His laws?
