Nepal Earthquake Relief in Action | Calgary News

Darren Tosh raced to Nepal just days after a devastating earthquake, leading Samaritan’s Purse Canada’s urgent relief mission as 40 tonnes of aid from Alberta arrived—part of a global effort with teams from Korea, Australia, and the U.S. Amid rubble and loss, Tosh stressed the desperate need: “People have absolutely nothing out there.” Back in Calgary, tens of thousands of Nepalese Canadians anxiously await word from loved ones, rallying through community hubs as hope fades for some. Yet resilience shines—Nepal’s history of recovery and the Calgary community’s unity fuel optimism. Help is still needed: donate to Samaritan’s Purse or the Canadian Red Cross, or connect with local Nepalese groups.
