NERD! Episode 36: Sonic Spinball
from Jeff Has Cool Friends Hosted by Jeff May
Join mega nerds Dre Alvarez and Jeff May as they geek out on a different nerdy cultural touchstone every month. Part reminiscence, part historical deep dive. This month, Dre and Jeff begin their season on SPEED with the 1993 Sega Genesis/Mega Drive classic SONIC SPINBALL. There's a lot to unpack about this controversial video game spin-off, so let's get aggressively dark and creepy, make sure we arrive by Christmas, and leave Japan the hell out of this, as we take a look at the first ever Sonic spin-off that had a lot of players scratching their heads and then cursing them off. And, of course, don't forget to follow Dre (@nerdnumbers) and Jeff (@heytherejeffro2 or @heytherejeffro) on the socials, and head over to patreon.com/jeffmay for early releases, exclusive shows, bonus content, and more, and have a nerdy day!
