I can't rain all the time. Meg is Michael. I love you. I know.
I can go slow ahead. Come on down and chump some of this shit. I'll do some scary movie. I'll do some scary movie.
How was this? This is for Brody. What the hell are you bro? Damn we saw how we kicked it out.
Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice.
It's your dad. You're shit. Thanks for life. I'm live.
Hi everyone and welcome to the Nerdy of North Podcasts. It's the Nerdy Podcast and it's hosted by Northern nerds. I am one your horse Sam. And I am the other horse Paul.
And to date is a very special night. Not only are we joined by Nerdy Jesus himself, the lovely Jake. The master behind Game and Up North and the leader of the demon Sonic now, which is just terrifying. We do have an actual paranormal investigator joining us, Lee from the Broobulers, which we met at Horacon only, it feels like only a few weeks ago, but it probably was a month I saw going out.
What was it? It was about four weeks ago I think. I thought it was a little bit longer than that. It flies when shit happens.
When you really couldn't visit us. We did have fun. Yes. Yes.
I have had fun the best time. And then Jake was the brave one of us and introduced it to the Nerdy of North to Lee after you give a speech or a panel talking about all the things that you do get up to at the event. What we normally do as well when we do get a new person or a new nerd joining us on the podcast, we do get a little bit of to know about them, get your Nerdy credentials. So, you can tell us a little bit about yourself there, Lee.
Right. No pressure. No pressure. So yeah, we're basically a team of four called the Boob Brothers.
I will say this, I know the team I've probably watched him, but I would class myself as a leading investigator. You have a mother's shoulder. I love having a behind you. That's because Sarah, I'm a partner, she's part of the team.
Right. And I've just got her in the corner of my eye. Just giving me the depth there. So, so if I say, I'm coming in, I'm going to clip it.
It's not the gorgeous. Yeah, it's not a spirit. It will be a. Yeah.
So yeah, basically we're a team of four. We go out to basically any locations that's haunted or history of hauntings. Go out, try and find basically evidence of life after death. That's that main goal.
We want to know if there is life after death. Interesting. Did you say that there's any like, did any sort of traditionally nerdy stuff influence here as like a kid? Like, you know, was it stuff like Ghostbusters or like, was there anything that kind of set your imagination off?
Like when you were younger, like, no, not really, but to be fair. To be fair, there will be something there because I am a big gamer. Right. So yeah, played by the red and evil.
Yeah. The people completed every single one, you know, like, even when the village came out and I think that the VR just to play in here. Oh, you were brave. So, yeah, I love that type of stuff.
Nice one. So before we start delving into the depth and nag, it's an interesting information as well. Somebody do want to do your disclaimer? Just so get out with the way.
Yeah. Well, everything discussed in today's episode is our opinions and our opinions alone. If you'd like to discuss anything from today's episode, please come and join us on our discord Facebook page or the comments section where we can have an open discussion. But what we want to have is anyone coming for us in town?
There's our opinions are wrong. We can all agree to disagree in fandom. So let's keep it fun, keep it kind and keep that toxic behavior out of notism. Very well said.
Thank you. And especially with the subject we are talking to tonight because there is a lot of nieces or negative people that we'll call them negative Nancy, shall we say, who liked it. Like to be a dick about a lot of things, especially about this type of subject. But as Jake asked before, how did he kind of get started in this?
Like what was like the initial starting point? Yeah, basically it was my partner Sarah. She used to go and go once. Right.
So we just said, you know, well, we're getting scared of like 12 years now. So it was like, come on, you go and play golf and stuff. Why don't you come and do something that I do Lee? I was like, okay, okay.
Then I think it was the first out of paranormal experience I had. If something like pulling on my jumper and there's nothing behind me. Right. Okay.
Interesting. And then the boss, it was just the boss after that. There needs no more. Yeah.
I like to know who it was. Why did you want my attention and nobody else's. So, so yeah, a few years down the line after being with going on so many companies, shall we say, their events, or say their investigation events. We decided just basically do it on our own.
We're going to get places ourselves and then once a month, what we will do is we'll run a public event where people could join us and try and help us get evidence. And also we use them as bait because of newbies. I'm quite interested in the new energy. Yeah.
It's always quite interesting. I know, like I said, on the podcast, like I said, Halloween, another smoothie season, we do generally have, like I say, a ghost talk and we do get different members on to tell, tell the stories and stuff. And it's always interesting, like, hearing a lot of people's different opinions or a lot of people's experiences in this type of thing. But with you, like, just going into that way, like, it's quite interesting to me because I know my kind of upbringing.
I told it lots of times, like, I lived in a really smooth area in the North East, like one side of us was a graveyard. The other side was an old mental asylum. So, and like that aspect, I was there, and then I think the boom time of the 90s for paranormal activity, when makes it shows like more sauna and everything like that came out and everyone kind of got fascinated by it. And I know we're to a degree show.
Yeah. Yeah, totally agree with that. But obviously, as you know, down the line, these programs have become known as. Yeah.
Yeah. I mean, we were just, I was a husband earlier and they're there. We used to talk on college is they were like an event in my house. We used to like plan our whole weekend around.
And you were really stuck into it. But I do want to believe I am not a skeptic, it's by any sense death, it fascinated me incredibly. What gets us is when you watch and stuff like them, you've got to remember the entertainment factor of it. Yeah.
And it's like, where's the line? Like, I don't know where the line is anymore. Yeah. And it gets a little bit disheartening really.
Yeah. I totally agree with that. And like, as we say on investigations, my main saying is, the spirits are not performing monkeys. No.
Yeah. I think I started shouting that last night when we were watching one. Yeah. It's like if I came into your house or whatever and I said, if it's anybody, it made me a bang.
Can you make a knock? Can you throw something? How many times are you going to get fed up with this? Different people coming in and saying things.
Yeah. That's how I see it. I see it. So, so, yeah.
But like I said, people do tend to push the boundary a bit faster entertainment. Yeah. Yeah. Because they always, they kind of like, I'm assuming they probably like set back sort of paranormal stuff in the entertainment industry.
Yeah. Because they basically proved all of the naysayers right after years and years of sort of denying it. And it's like, well, that's not great for like, for everyone who's interested in this kind of thing is a hobby or potential sort of career and stuff. So, yeah, it's, it's unfortunate they're the most famous one in the UK by, like, by far, but hopefully it's sort of settling down now and like, you know, groups like yours can sort of fill some of that gap some of that gap and actually be like, okay, we're doing it, but we'll be in like sincere about it and we're telling you everything up front and stuff like that.
Yeah, that's it. Like I say, we've never faked anything. We never will. Yeah.
And I'll always say if you do follow us or anyone follows us on Facebook, we will post evidence that we do capture on investigations there. We don't do YouTube or TikToks. I learned that to do it. We basically don't want to be tarnished with the fakeery.
Yeah, I just want to get that. There's so many people teams out there who are just making over teams who actually want to investigate and find evidence. So, you know, they're just making mockery of it. That's my belief.
No, yeah. I totally get, yeah. You see, quite often where people sort of try and manufacture things. I think it happens, like obviously, ghost stuff, you can you can manufacture sort of kind of easily with, you know, actual like physical props and stuff.
But I also see you see quite a lot of like, cryptid stuff where there'll be like film in, it's always a blurry shot in modern times, which is always questionable. There'll be like film in a hillside and like they can digitally put something running across it these days. And if you make it blurry enough, you know, you've got plausible deniability. And they just want the views.
Totally agree. Yeah. You know, and we were on an investigation last night. And I think I got on at about seven o'clock this morning.
It's crazy. I was actually talking to a guy on Earth who was investigating with us. And like he said, why do these people put cuts in the videos and things like that? Yeah.
I understand you might be recording for eight hours. You don't want an eight hour thing. Yeah. But why don't you keep one version of raw footage, then do a edited one as well?
Yeah. But then you've got the evidence of both. No, we haven't put this in there. Here's the raw footage of it.
Yeah. Yeah. But so we were kind of talking about stuff like that. But it doesn't mean I am going on YouTube.
It's not just a conversation. I know I went looking for you on YouTube today. And I was disappointed. I was like, no, not there.
No, we did start a channel. But then I think it was a bit too late. There was too many teams out there faking. Yeah.
Yeah. And once you know about the paranormal side of things, guys, but it is quite a toxic place. Oh, no. Well, I haven't dug into this fandom exactly.
But when you look on paranormal Reddit and stuff, it is interesting how some people will like paint themselves as an expert of things that nobody can actually prove exist yet. But people will just bare face, lay things out. Like, you know, like, you have a demon. It's like, oh, OK.
And they'll just elaborate. It'll just be like, that's definitely a demon possession. You're like, that's a dangerous thing to say to someone without actually backing things up. It is.
It is. And to be fair, that's how the paranormal field's going. Everything you see now is demonic. There's demonic that.
But luckily for me, which I will explain a little bit later on. I have been on a demonology night with a professor of demonology. And he explains quite a lot to you. All right.
And I'm going to leave it at that. Oh, my God. But I don't like the way that you've been like crazy. Like what you do as an investigation rather than, as you said, as an event or as an entertainment side of things because you do have these nights, as you said, quite clearly, the spirits or like the energy that's there, they're not performing monkeys.
They're not there for people's entertainment or like, so like, that's not like a circus. So you probably still have investigations where nothing will happen. So you'll probably have about, you know, it was for footage and nothing happens one night. And that's that's down.
Like, as you said, sometimes can't be looked at the drawer. But again, it's then if the things do happen, you've got to then go through the plausible, like, why did this happen? Like, what could it have been or and stuff like that and trying to take them to have elements out? So that must be like the kind of like the detective side for you as well.
Yeah. Yeah. Even I say, even if you're doing eight hours of trying to record evidence, you know, capture something, we haven't laughed anyway. Yeah.
But you've got to think as well, these buildings that we go to, the parts that we get to go in the public and not allowed to go if they're doing a tour. Yeah. So we get to see these all Victorian buildings and all this. And we get to see things that the public don't even get to see.
So why not enjoy the beauty of these buildings as well? Yeah. And enjoy the freedom of that as well. Because as you said, not many people will be getting that access or that ability as well.
So it's kind of like a, almost like a privilege in a way. Yeah. Possibly all that history around you. Like, oh, must be fantastic.
I'm so jealous. Do you, do you find that yours and your investigation partners attitudes do matter? Like, have you had, have you had any nights where you have noticed like, oh, we were all positive going in. And then we had like positive experiences coming out or like nights where people have way you fell off and then the sort of investigations gone off.
Like, have you felt anything like reflected like that before? Yeah. I definitely think your own energy team energy does help. The more energy you're going to give out, hopefully the more you get back.
It's like saying, give and what you receive and things like that. But what we tend to notice is people's mannerisms do change during investigations. Right. So depending on, I always get sold whenever we're at 30s drive.
My mannerisms change. I get a bit snappy, a bit things like that. That's where we were last night at 30s drive. Probably the most famous house in Europe.
Yeah. It's always an interesting as well. Cause like, I was telling Sammy and Jake about 30s drive yesterday. And I mean, as I said, we're watching the video together, like just, like, because you go on YouTube, you do your searches and stuff like that.
When you look at it, it just looks, because I think the biggest comment we gave it, it just looks like a normal North East, one of the middle council attack. So it's not, so it's not like the normal haunted board that you would take. So if you come to the North East, there's like, um, Mars and Grotto, that looks like a haunted, when you go in, if you go into like, say, on a castle, like everything there just screams out, something smoothies going to happen. But when you say the images, like, fair enough, the decor is terrifying.
And he's 30s drive. It looks like we got the corner there. That was still made in the 70s and been terrified of redecorates. But it is quite unassuming, if that makes sense.
It takes you by surprise. You will go into the house and it's just like going to your grounds. It looks like my grandmother's house and she's been dead for 20 years. Let's look at the setting in the carpets and everything screams my grandmother.
Yeah, it basically just kept it the same. The energy in there though, it does shift. You do feel like a dark presence sometimes in there. Right.
But oftentimes it's, like, going on to you, Nancy T or sleep pool. But that's all it is. I know you've invested it. I've done quite a lot of things about it.
So what is it that's about building or why is that one makes it draws more than others, shall we say? I think it's just a famous house. You know, it's had a film made about it. It's all over the news about the Pritchett family and things like that.
But it's on everyone's bucket list. Right. Yeah. It's not something that's crossed my, it's not like the Enfield House where that was like, you know, that like, totally like blue wall.
This has kind of like just dropped in my lap in like the last couple of years. What is the history behind the house? Basically, they call it the Black Monk of Ponzi Frat. Right.
So this Black Monk of Ponzi Frat did haunt the house. And it did, the most famous thing about it is it dragged the child to go die on up the stairs by her. And if you have one more history on it, there is a film out what they made. Yeah.
I thought I'd seen it. I've not seen it, but I saw it today. I saw the trail of horror today. Yeah.
Yeah. When the lights went out. Oh, yeah. And so if you do get a chance to watch out, that is based on this house.
And so basically then it locked the father Joe into the Coleshed. The Coleshed is still in there. Yeah. I would say we went from the North East, so we know what the call, I think anyone in any American's or anything, that was once a picture.
Coleshed is not a fun place to be locked in trust. No. Especially if there's no lock on the door as well. No.
So it was like it was like being held shut, call them off all those situations. Yeah. And then you got the American famous investigators as well. Oh, God.
You got you got like Nick Groff, if you feel him, Nick Groff. He came over. Very much out of Nick Groff. He did an investigation there.
Right. That's a bit of culture shock for him. That's the guy who left Zach isn't it? He was with Zach, he was with Gorsuch Ventures for a long time.
And then he left and started off on his own. That's him, isn't it? That is. That is.
Obviously, I don't want to go as an entertainment speaker. No. I don't want to go as an entertainment speaker. I want to keep this friendly.
Yeah. I don't want any phone calls. I don't want to go too much of you, Chef. That's fine.
So, but yeah, everyone all over the world wants to investigate this building. I think we've done it now about 12 times. Wow. And so we've kind of built up like a bit of the report portfolio for this building.
And then we, like I said, we've got one more to go in that scene to. Yeah. I think people can build to go. I think there's two spaces left apparently, I think.
Just just hit anyone who's watching. They just sell out the other day. Oh, right. Congrats on the sellout.
Yeah. Yeah. So we don't just do 30 strive. We do all the places and also now, well, you guys were at the horror con where we were.
We are in partnership with the haunted museum and some of the friends. Yes. Yes. Is there anything like you've added to the museum, like from your own personal collection?
Well, you saw her. You met her on the table. She has been added to the museum now. The doll for haunted.
We had. She can see it there. One thing I'm terrified of is dolls. Yeah.
So yeah, she started getting a bit too naughty when we had her at the house. Right. She started mimicking our children. Oh, right.
You hear that sort of thrown around a bit as a sign of like evil, don't you? Yeah. It's not. Sometimes it's like the only communication.
That can happen. Playful. Don't worry. Don't worry.
Joly dearest doesn't come to get you some. It's fine. So yeah, she's now in the museum on the 24 hours of day lengths. Right.
And we, I think within 24 hours, she moved inside that case and led to believe. Right. What is the doll? Like who is behind the doll?
We've had three names come through. Right. I'm not trying to be funny here, but what is it with the likes of dolls? Because obviously there's Annabelle doll is Robert, that's Robert the doll.
Robert the doll. Robert. He can do it. I don't mean I hate him.
No. He's coming at you. No. He looks terrifying.
You got to ask permission. You write permission down and ask permission. There's no way I get anywhere near it. I'm going to leave him.
But what is it with the likes of like dolls? Isn't it just the form? So it's like the closest form of humans or like people that are like. Yeah.
So they can call them the closest vessel. So it's classed as a vessel. But more and more dolls and now haunted things like that. And so, yeah, like I say, we've now took her there.
She's out of the house and to be fair, it feels a lot better in the house now. Oh, that's positive. Good written. We all just walked faster at the convention as well.
Yes. Yes. Yes. It was a good job.
We didn't mention it. We picked up on it. If you would have just stopped dead and fixed it. If you would have asked, I would have got around and let you hold.
No. No. Oh, bless. You've got to hold a proper hand while we were there and I freaked out or not.
And I just go into hysterics. Like my gorte was soon as I'm scared is I just laugh. Like uncontrollably laughing and that wouldn't have been great impression. To something going on with the proper cruising.
Now you can laugh there with the dolls. I know you mentioned your first experience with someone pulling on your jumper. So as a being any other like, you would like to tell us just to discuss something a little bit more. Well, there's lots of things.
Oh, yeah. If you want to know a really good one. The other week when I took the whole into the heart museum. Right.
I walked through the room. It's going to the office and the loudest bloke perling scream. Right. Was actually at me and there was only me in that building at that time.
And it was caught on four different cameras inside the museum. Wow. I would have been in the floor and you're probably now. I just froze.
That's a double take for this. Someone just shelved it. Yeah. Well, that's the thing you had no one to ask.
Did you? It's like one of those moments. Was that just me? Because you do that thingy plays with your mind because the mind can play tricks to a degree.
That was what it was going to ask as well. Like what is like say sometimes your reactions as well because the things that you see, like the entertainment side, if it happened to you in real life, I'm sorry, I would be getting the fuck out of the room. Like not even just trying to contemplate a work on what's happening. And I keep talking about them when you see the most haunted team go to a 30-inch drive and there's a fucking knife sticking up in the couch.
I would be playing it. Again, it's what it says. I pass off anything like that. I'm not playing anymore.
It's just like no. Why? Why not find out why it's like that? Because there's some things that are already doing life and stuff.
Have you? Because obviously like a bunch of us have seen quite a lot of golf shows and that is kind of like a common thing that happens like an object seemingly showing up from nowhere or like have you seen much of that or like things moving into rooms where you are and being like that was in the kitchen before time. Like have you seen much of that? You do get quite a lot of it.
But it depends really on where you are, I'd say, from the energy. If that thing's thrown, I believe it's who you could probably the largest thing that's thrown. Oh, yeah. I've never thrown back.
No, it was aimed at a woman who was with us. Oh shit, no, then. And I've never seen anyone run so quick. But like it's one thing I say, like you said, if it was you, Paul, if it was you, you'd get up and run.
Yeah. But for us, it's paranormal investigators with air to find that. Yeah, that's it. That's your thing.
Like you need to know where that came from. That's it. It's like sometimes you see teams and hear a knock or a big bang or something drop. Right.
I'm going, I'm going to count it. I'm off. Yeah. I'm like, hold on.
It's only been 10 minutes. This is what you want. This is like, what is this? I can understand that aspect because that's what you're there for.
That's why I always like roll in the eyes when people say, oh, like, if you hear with us, make a bang, then the shit themselves when they hear a bang. It's like, you just ask me to do something. So, but for my, like, say, if I was like, as I said, just going to like a normal civilian, going through a house and starting knives, kicking out, kicking out, things. I wouldn't want to play in them type of like, so no, you know what?
If that makes sense. They'll be like, yeah, you're like, I'm getting the message loud. I don't want to, but that's always like, not the funny side of things, but like when you, when you see people's reactions where the surprise when asking for something out of it. And it happens.
It's like, oh shit. It's like, you go to like the Edinburgh of Alter X thing. And when it is one of the most previous places of a being sent Mary, it's some areas, isn't it? I can't remember it.
But, and you get, if it's like, if they see anything or feel anything, they're kind of react or free. It's like, why did you go down there and not, not like want something to happen? That's it. And also you got to think about how much money people pay to do these tours or investigations or events.
You know, it's just mind-boggling. See, I know places charged say 80 pound a person. And within two hours, something happens and they're like, right, I'm going, I need to go. I don't like it.
I don't like it. I understand people get feelings and emotions of sickness and things like that. But just step out, step out of the room, step away from that energy, build your own energy back up. You know, I have a break.
Yeah. I have a drink, you know, but there is ways around it that you can, that you don't have to just run off 20 miles down the road. I know I am a big, I know I am a big, I know I am a big, pretty cat and I do, and laughing is my like, defense like mechanism. That's what I do when I'm scared, but I never leave a situation.
I will stick it, I will stick it out and stay there regardless of how I am feeling. And it's one thing that my mother said to us, but growing up, what I lost, I lost a friend really young and death has fascinated me for a very long time. And the idea of, oh my gosh, she's not, she could potentially be on the other side. What would you do to us?
My mum would always say to us, she would never hurt your life. Why would you hurt your in death? And it kind of like it stuck with us. So that's how I like me brain processes.
Like I wouldn't, yes, I laugh me ass off because it's the one thing that stops us from being uncontrollably. Yeah, absolutely. But I would never not, I would never not wait. I would stick.
Yeah. I would just think it's hilarious because I know a lot of people talk about energies and stuff as well. And when you mention about having a demonologist and stuff like that, is there a different, again, taught me as a novice than not really experiencing it as well? There's a different kinds of energies.
There's like, is one's where you feel like it's like bad dark is like, again, I know one of the things you talked about during the panel, which I do when I talk a little bit more, like the David boxes as well. Like, so the, the, the, which people sell on fucking ED and stuff like that, which is just, this will do the two. Yeah, because I'm wrong, but that's supposed to kill you, right? If you open it, or it's supposed to be like that dangerous.
If it's legit. Yeah. I would say kill you. I'd say Tom, then you know.
What is a David box? David box is basically Jewish demon, car inside and they seal it with wax. Right. And basically it's sedeemer.
So now, nowadays it's going to kill you and, you know, it'll just kill you straight away, but not only demons do tense. So I'll then, I'm your first mentally, not just physically mentally. So yeah. So, but like you said, not something you should mess with or buy off evis is what was saying.
I can make you on. I think I saw like a, I don't like, not documenting, but there was one where there was a person selling them, but can you remember the smoke? They were using them like the old gospel, the cans that you got. Yeah.
Yeah. So, it's kind of giving that kind of a genius, but it's one of those things. There's so many different laws and stuff like that. That one that one feels especially sort of weird to me because it's like taking a part of another culture and being like, this is like the most dangerous thing you can buy.
Yeah. It's like, yeah, it's like, it's one of those things. There's so many different laws and stuff like that. But that one, that one feels especially sort of weird to me because it's like taking a part of another culture and being like, this is like the most dangerous thing you can buy.
And it's like, yeah, it robs me all the wrong words. I've seen something physically been next to something worse in a divot box. Oh, what is worse than a demon divot box. Something that is at the heart of museum in Stoke.
Right. It's called the devil's tie box. All right. Well, that sounds like a bunch of fun.
And yeah, it's, it's weird. Right. I'm not going to go too much into it. I'm not going to go too much into it.
Oh, you're going to my Google search tonight. But yeah, I have done investigation with Craig, who obviously owns Craig and Gemory will in the heart of museum. I don't know. You guys must have met him and you guys must have met him.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We did demonology now and you actually get to work with that box out of its enclosed case because it's a box inside of enclosed case.
They take out the enclosed case and you actually get to do a bit of investigation with it. So I must have some like weird, I know, like, all of the doors and feelings and stuff like because there's things where you're like near or like even buildings and stuff, you go near. They've just got like a presence where you feel like nothing good can come from that door. You get that feeling.
Well, basically, all you're feeling is static electricity in the air. You know, if you want near an electric pile on your head or stand up on your arms, if you want right next to them, it's basically just static electricity in the air. And that's basically how you feel with your energies and things like that. But that does kind of give off a weird vibe that box.
Interesting. I think we're going to have a road trip there as well. You say that. And then the time you'll be like chatting to you.
There's a whole time. Just it's crazy. I've got you. And also because it's quite a distance and it's still for you guys.
I think it's about two or three hours. Yeah, you can actually sleep over in the hole. I don't mind driving back. Tell you what, though.
We have a dumb ass in the group called Lee. He was doing it. Oh, yeah. It must be the name.
He is the most global human in the world. But he said, Lee, go and do this. spending the same time. But we're going to do it internally when it was even when you come in.
You know, people like me, I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I. I've been there for two hours. I love this. I like how the people with children as well as the...
Oh, yeah. of demonic of you. One of our big massive horns is Gillian and Castle. Are you being?
No, not yet. Oh, that's all I'm saying. Not yet. I think we were talking about it.
Yes. Not yet. I felt the uneasy. You know when you're in the house and you kind of feel a bit uneasy.
And it's just easy mind just playing tricks on. You're out and into yourself plenty of times. When I walked into Gillian and into, and I know it's the torture chamber bit. At the bottom of the courtyard, I have all of the torture chamber stuff out.
I made it out and everything like the stretching stuff. I have never felt uneasy. Uneasy to the point of feeling sick to me stomach. And it wasn't the material that was in front of us.
That didn't even cross me mind. It was the environment. I have never felt like that before. And I was like, I don't want to be here anymore.
I do not want to be here anymore. And I started learning a bit about the history of it. And there's a place out the back where it's got just this huge massive like pond type of thing with a jet, jet, you must say on that right. Going out of it.
And this person just compasses and went, do you know the history of this? And I was like, oh, no, I haven't got a clue. And you went, well, this is the closest castle from that is on the border. So you would have Scotland, then there's Chillingham, then Northumberland.
So Chillingham would always be the first to be attacked by the Scots. This is where they set up all of their little traps for when the Scots came and run and passed, trapped them, drowned them and they've just been stuck there for hundreds and hundreds of years. I have never felt ill. I think I just went, I am peeled to start with.
I think I went like fluoresce. Yeah, they could see something. I was like, I really don't want to be here anymore. It always interests as well.
England has the conny itself. We have abundance of history, abundance of tragedies, but it's going to go wrong. I normally just happen in the UK. But when you go off to this, like in America, where the don't have as much history or as much much of the thing, they are so obsessed with the paranormal, literally everything that's like from this car-bod house that was put up two weeks ago is now haunted to a degree.
You can tell just watch the name person. I'm not thinking I was like, did you watch the dream in house about any time? I don't understand how, because in my head, when it comes to spirits and stuff, it is a build-up of energy, not just 10 years, 15 years, thousands of years of tragedy, thousands of energy building up happening in the one place. America doesn't have that kind of, why are they so obsessed?
Is it because of the mentality of Americans? Not saying about Americans and nuts. I have to be fair, we have thousands of Americans in the group, they are all weird. To be fair, we have the history, UK has the history.
Like you say in the history is massive. The energies do store in a storm, water, etc. Into these buildings, that's why we get the hauntings. The thing with America and how you have to see it is Native American land.
Native Americans kind of curse the land, shall we say, or put some sort of spell on the lands. When these houses get built, it is a Native American land. This is why you could be getting hauntings, so it is possible that you get quite a lot. As you know, some buildings were films made after them.
Conjuring. That is an interesting one. I have watched some very interesting. I am not a huge fan of Ed and Lewy and Lauren.
Sorry. I will talk about that. I will talk about that. But the parent family, listening to them, now that was a very interesting one.
I will talk about the parent family, listening to them, now that was interesting. There is something quite genuine about them. I have to listen to them and I will just record it. You can talk to them and I will do one.
I want to do one. I want to do one. I want to do one. I want to do one.
I want to do one. I want to do one. I want to do one. I want to do one.
I don't know if that was a thing when I was a kid. I remember that being the urban legend in the 90s. To me, it never made a lot of sense. It is like, yes, be scared of the spirit, but it is not the board if that makes sense.
There is thousands of them. I cannot all be cursed. Do you know how it originated? It was a kid's.
It was a kid's. It was a kid's. It was a kid's. It was a hotel.
It was a hotel. It was a hotel. It was a hotel. It was a kid's.
It was a kid's. It was a kid's. It is one of those things where I think it is people trying to force, like, in movements sort of beliefs into modern objects. Some of that doesn't always line up for me.
I, I grew up on which board in the movie, which was called ReGia. It was, it was called the tents. And it was, I was obsessed with that film. I wanted to talk to David so badly.
I still wanted a lot of the amount that created on the back of the film. Oh, that's fine. Anything to do with like anything that i know about Sex Aid tourism like the satanic panic area like it was kind of like coming into the same thing where people say oh paranormal's bad it's gonna turn us all into devil worshipers and make us all like go into pagan paganism and stuff like that and but that's like say the negative connotations that do come with like this side of things where and when again we I think I've my school when I was at rorpe diem dot and they actually got a priest didn't have a conversation with us because people were doing wagie boards and stuff like that and the priest just not did to get the priest to come in because it was at school at school it was one of them times it was a catholic no it wasn't it was a just kind of one it was a product like churchy big one I think it was called at time but we had a old scottish headmistress it was very much like singing hymns and stuff like that but they got praise to come in and he just basically said he went look it's just a board it's only due damage to you if you're meant to even let it do damage to you and stuff and he was quite straight forward to it as well so it wasn't like all like fire and brimstone in all your you're casting the devil. I think being from the North East, the way I'm going to bullshit or stuff, which was actually the type of that type of stuff.
I was thinking that when you were chatting before about stuff like that, and I'm just thinking like my parents are like really skeptical and it's so like I never saw them afraid of certain things like that. So then it didn't like pass it into me like to be like, oh you need to take Ouija Baud seriously because you're man scared of something. So I wonder if some of that helps. Like that probably did help you kids in school like an actual authority figure coming in and being like, look, you're okay, you're gonna be like, you don't need to panic about this stuff.
It was not me just like, say that little dodgy little kid in the corner, he's the one that's pushing the cup. Give me a slap. My mom's very much afraid of the unknown. It's not, it's not like she's skeptical or anything.
She just, she doesn't like the fact of like, mess them. She always says when we read your boards, you mess them up, you don't understand. And I'm like, you do realize I'm not physically touching them. They are display of pieces.
Yeah, but there's two ways you can look at it as well. Like people can be scared of it, but it does give comfort for a lot of people as well to know that there's something that could be there or something can't be there. So that's why I would never take the piss out of this type of subject. I know, as I said, I am a skeptic.
I've never experienced any one of those ones that won two, but I think it's wrong to just point out to start laughing at someone because I say, because it could be the difference from someone feeling good on a night time. I'll help them get through that fear. So that's why I always like, I was certain believers of like, say one of those things where I wonder believe what until like, say it actually happens to us. I might come to the horror, like say that the horror news, they haven't changed everything.
Like before belief system will get thrown out the window. I hope you never know. Like, is that kind of how it felt? Is that kind of how it felt for you Lee?
Like when you were saying you jump, I got tugged and you were saying that was like your first proper paranormal thing. Yeah. Is that kind of how it felt like, Oh, now my worldview needs like reassess and type of thing? No, basically, I'm still saying, I don't fully believe I will try and debunk as much as I can before I turn around and say that is unexplained.
And even if it's unexplained, I will get over teams who I know. Yeah. I will say look at this. What do you make it is?
How could this have happened? Then it'll take me a long, long time. So I say it's paranormal. That's a healthy way of looking at it as well.
Because if you jump on everything and trying to force it down to someone's end, look, this is it. And again, it can have like, say the almost almost almost artifact. But it's almost like a healthy approach as well. One thing I did want to ask about as well, because I know you mentioned other teams, what did surprise us when I think we all said at the same time, who went to the hurricane in Manchester in half, how many paranormal teams were actually in the Northwest?
Like we've got absolutely well, not that I know of, not that many in the North, basically, like that. But it was like, is this the mecca for paranormal teams is the Northwest? Then so many of us. This loads, you know, but then again, I know loads from the northeast.
So we might just be looking in the right areas as well. So yeah, I was actually investigating one of them last night resident ghost investigations. Right. So I'm not talking to that.
But yeah. We were like, we were like, we were like, we were like, we were like, talking away as well, thinking that it's like, cuz I know Manchester has a rich history of like a lot of like the ghosts and stuff like, and especially next to the like, the Pendle, which is like one of the famous ones that is one of the ones I've always said, I wanted to visit just to see that is on this. We've said it for a few years now. That's why we want to go do it.
I want to be here. Which is the heebie geebies though. Like, you know, how like how Paul was saying, like, oh yeah, I would never like make fun of anyone for like believing in stuff. Like, that's very much me.
Like, I'm not sure what I believe, but I will be respectful to the things I don't understand. Like, I don't want to mess with anything. Like, I'm not, I'm not like, trying to shake the treat to see what falls out. Yes.
