Oh, I don't know. I'm obviously awkward nerd but at times at the cost stream. You want to see one version of me at the same time, more than once. So something's in there.
Yeah, I have changes every time. What is your favourite costume? What is your favourite costume as well? Probably the X-Men role from the cartoons.
Q2 fan still terrified of the other two on screen so will he ever get a ride? True. I'm a huge Captain Marvel fan and I know that she steals Rogue's powers so how is then Rogue the bloody terrorist at that makes no sense to me? Could just let him reverse it.
They were Rogue's tail and her powers. That was such a good story in the air car dooms. Yeah, never know. I bet you do get a lot of attention from the teenage boys when you got the Con's rest as Rogue as well.
I never went to the X-Men, the X-Men, the Card and KMM, when I was a kid, I had the courses on the wall and everything. So yes, it was one of my favourite as well. Oh, for the moment, he would come and stalk you. I'm showing my age now because when I'm at Con's past a certain younger audience, they don't know what it is.

Jessica was our actually first ever winner of a nerd competition we did where we had actually quiz that I think there was only about 10 people that joined. So I didn't. But there's like a horror quiz and everything that happened. I got told that the questions were all too hard, but Jessica pretty much got everything that won them right.
It's actually got messages from me. I got messages from my friends and these are too hard. Why are you being so mean to us? But I said, Jessica didn't have any problems with it.
Yeah. My trivia thing is like, it's my useless talent is knowing just ridiculous trivia that will never be any of these for me. But it's all left. So I think one of the questions as well, and that's through everyone was the name of the family of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and you just left out your head and the names to it and everyone else was like, nope, no idea.
Oh my God, that's one of my favorite films and I can't even think of it right now. You know what right now is actually, I make a print of one since I've had it on. I can't actually think of it right now. So we'll be having another answer to this.

That's the problem. I've been ill all week and I've literally just had the sword in one day before week out. So it's been eventful. Before we get into this week's episode, I have to ask the question because I've watched a lot of shit this week.
How are you guys and what have you been watching? I didn't have to. It's not been sounded. They sounded a bit easier this time.
Oh, Martins just said the sorry is your right. I know what you've been watching. Well, two new things this week. Firstly, the last of us, first episode, which premiered last Monday.
That's got the, what's going to be affecting on is the good, well, walrus of excellence. These are exclusive approval. So the approval now is between one and five. Walrus of excellence is put to perfection.
I had my doubts as with all the old video game adaptations, but I thought, no, I'm not going to be like, I'm not going to shit immediately. What we know about most people have. I'll give it a chance and it won't be different than the games. I've heard some things, you know, why it's different and stuff.
And I think the first episode was done terrifically well, brilliantly executed, brilliantly acted, score, photography, everything. Perfect. I love, love, love, love the tiny little changes that they've made. I'm going to stop you now.
I'm going to be a bit of a maniac. The reason being, after watching the first episode, I am demanding we do an episode on the last of us. So I am going to keep all of us content to it. Similar to what we did with the Sanman, just because I do think this is going to be a bit of a big part of the story.
But actually, I've watched it a few times this, like I'll be honest, Adam is that much? It is. It is an episode, worthy show. So I told you, very soon.
Any time you mentioned it good, well, you can have content screaming in your face. The, well, the other thing that I've watched was that 90 show. We will not be doing an episode on this. We will not be.
But I've mixed opinions and mixed reviews. Now, as you guys already know, I'm not at the first episode. I thought there were problems. However, I stuck with it.
between episodes three and four, four, five, there was a shift in quality when it came to the writing and the acting. And I think that's when they sort of got their act together. And overall, I enjoyed it. It was a nice little nod.
Again, some issues, but if they do get it, I think if they get a season two Netflix. No, thanks. I think that I've got high hopes for it. It did get three out of five seal claps and it did get the good old seal.
Or are you actually trying to make this a thing now? I think it will be a thing. It will be a thing. Is this because the Twitch stream that you've become a now, that you've become a movie review?
Not off with this, man. No, not at all, but at all. But it's great. It is worth sticking with.
I think it's not as... The first series of that 70 show was brilliant. And I think this had a lot of competition with that. I stuck with it.
I enjoyed it. If there's a season two brilliant, if there isn't not really a big loss, but with Netflix, even if it's more popular, there's always that risk. I mean, Wednesday, people like this is brilliant. It'll be canceled by Netflix.
And there's always going to be that paranoia. There's been rumors that there weren't going to pick it up for a second season. But that's what I was talking about. It's not the fun and slightest.
What? And I didn't like it. It was more Tisha. Really upset me.
They made it so harsh and such an awful mother. And it was like, that was never the narrative. I think it was perfect, supportive parents. To do this all of a sudden was coming.
You can't go and tarnish more Tisha. Like, I can't accept that. That's all I can accept. It was interesting because with all the different views and stuff, I think with Netflix, a good point of what we made was with Netflix now, I think they even quite with it.
I was trying to make a season last more than three seasons because that's when budgets go up and they've got to increase the contracts. So I'd say that's why most things don't last long. But it's interesting that I know, like, say, Wednesday was always going to be a marmite show. I think I've had fans that love it and fans are here.
I've never had many people that come on and say, it was OK. It's the type of the cross. But I think with a lot of different things with Wednesday, I love aspects of it. And I enjoyed it.
I was going on. I love more and more of it. But I can certainly say why this one would be upset with the way more Tisha was. To me, it didn't upset me as much with that because I was never really that strong.
My affiliate with more Tisha was that I fancy that. That was probably my strong point being on this video. But I was more happy with the casting of Gourmet's and how they got Gourmet's. I thought the spot on.
So that was why I enjoyed it. But I think when we've done the episode review, our issues were faster as well. I never thought the FesterCape quite worked. But it'd be interesting how they're going to do season two because the surprise factor's gone now.
So now it's got to actually be entertaining from the start and try and bring something new because that's what it worked on. I think there was never a doubt that there was going to be a season two Wednesday. I think the question with Netflix was the company that made Wednesday was bought by Amazon, MGM. So there was always that, well, if Netflix cancels it, it will just go to Amazon Prime.
And I think with Netflix, it was sort of like, well, shit. We could lose people here. And I was talking to someone today about Stranger Things. And I said, after the final season airs, Netflix is going to have a problem because they don't have a killer IP.
Well, it's supposed to be an off-site. I've got to deal with Stranger Things. It's going to be a senator, what they did with in spoiler for walking dead fans. At the end of the walking dead, when they just went, here's the end of the book.
We're going to spin off through all these different shows. I've got to fill in the Stranger Things. It's going to do the same thing. The walking day is spin offs.
They're not going to go in a corner. The plan under Linkin's pulled out. She's contract's done. He's not doing any spin offs.
That means the Niagara River is pulling out. So that's gone. That's scrapped. The actor's playing Carol.
She's pulled out of the Darryland Carol one. So it's just Darryl. So the whole franchise lies on his shoulders. What are you just signed up for the John Wick TV show?
Yes. What's it called? The hotel and stuff like that. I personally can't see what we're going any further.
But I did hear that about Norman readers. I do want to notice things that happen for Norman readers. What are you being watching? Jessica?
So I just started short called Yellowstone. Yes, I heard about it. Is that Norman Kevin Costner? It is.
It's really, really good. It's very close to Sons of Anarchy. It's going to be a very similar film and style. The dynamic is very similar.
Not quite as high-paced as well as Sons of Anarchy was. It's actually one of the guys from Sons of Anarchy that's wrote this as well. So he's taken a lot of notes from Costner and wrote into piece on show. It's been interesting.
It's been white loters. It's absolutely pulled me in. I've heard so many good things. It's so surreal.
It's so peculiar, isn't it? She's fantastic. She's minting everything. It's not.
I think the one that deserves the world, she really does. I think we have a song as well because it's been a while. It's been one day, but I've got like 16. It's been off three-quall haven't I?
Yeah, it's been off three-quall haven't I? Yeah, it's supposed to be violent. It's held in Kevin Costner, but that's for once. I've got quite a bit of interest in watching that.
Oh, it's definitely worth a watch. It's a great dynamic. The cast is fantastic. And yeah, it's a pretty solid story because it is to do with the ownership of landings.
Taking a lot of it from Native Americans. And the impact that's has and the dynamity of getting that land back. Yeah, sorry. I'm really surprised.
Carolyn hasn't been badgering us to watch it because the woman is obsessed with Kevin Costner. Why would you be? The man should be doing more work. I was texting her while I was watching Robin and Prince of Things and she was like, can't you stop?
She's going to be badgering the face out of me, man. It's the first time I think one of the first people I watched as a senior could have actually started on and wanted them to get the end because his version of it was Mr Brooks. Yeah, she's been badgering us to watch that as well. Absolutely brilliant scene.
Kevin Costner's sinister. It was just amazing. It was like Robin Williams was turning one hour four and insomnia. That was sinister.
Sorry, can I just shut out one that I've literally just started called Kevin Cost himself. Okay. Okay. This is it's on the MC.
I think it's fine. Oh, you're doing genuine. I thought you were like, okay, don't you? Yeah.
This is my shout out to someone called Kevin. It's on the MC. It is so goddamn interesting because it's a show that initially it looks like a sitcom and it's done as a multi-camera sitcom with a live studio audience quote on quote with the stereotypical shenanigans when it focuses on the husband. When it focuses on the wife, it turns into a dark and gritty AMC drama within the same scene.
And it's so hard to explain. But if you can just watch a trailer for it or watch a clip for it, you will realize that there's been nothing else like this on television. And it's essentially like say one scene where they're in the living room and it's like, oh, the husband's been adoof about any leaves and the wife's there and the scene changes. It's the exact same set, the exact same decorates and everything like that, but the lighting changes goes from like this bright and overly saturated sitcom to a dark and gritty AMC drama about the mental, you know, the issues of the life is then how she was a fucking killer husband and how he fucking hates him and stuff like that.
And then when he comes back in, it's all bright and all these saturated with live audiences again. It's just, it's insane. That sounds interesting. They don't explain any of this.
They don't tell it why it's like that. It just fucking does it. It's brilliant. So we said we'd be watching it when we're in a happy place.
It's not in a bad place. This is by the sound of an end. Okay. That sounds entertaining.
It does sound intriguing. Come on, Paul, we'll be watching. And I'm in a bit boring to be honest. I think, perhaps not again watching, it's always funny in Philadelphia for the full run through just in preparation for when we do the episode coming up in a few months.

Last year it really got me and my husband through a very dark place. And we are now completely obsessed with the podcast. It's just how, I watch it in awe just how they can get away with all the stuff that they've got to do and how they do and how they do. But actually it's absolutely brilliant.
It's like you can tell they are close friends and only weird friends. I would love to know how much I would say was ad lib and stuff. Because not all that must be scripted from just past and they'll tell you. Because they're going through each episode.
They're running on the some episodes where they don't want to do that and they are just talking. But in quite a lot of ad lib. That's surprising. They do write whatever's written on the script is looking change things and minor things.
But in their head, they spend a lot of time in that writing room. But to be fair, there is only one podcast I think we should be watching. That's very true. It's so good though.
It should be honest Paul, it's like a show. It's just like an extended version of the show because there's three of them with Megan who you're looking at. She's one of the writers. We're getting told off a trial for sale content as well.
Because we're doing it ever since. Right. You've been watching this on the Sunday. What else?
I'm going to go back to the really way it's sure that I'm actually obsessed with Moonshines. Which is a new episode this week where they've been trying to make some whiskey from Bali. And I was fascinated by it because they still blog in Dungarese with the podcast. They still blog in Dungarese.
We're getting upset because the weight had been invested by Weevils. And weight prices are through the roof. And weight prices are through the roof at the moment in America. So they couldn't afford to buy more weight.
So they'll think that we as the weight fine, but we're going to kill the Weevils without spoiling the corn. So they were microwaving them. They were freezing them. They were using dry ice.
But it was the most fascinating part. Now I've got to watch them daily. I really wanted to kill these Weevils without damaging the corn. Anyone saying weevils, well, but they don't call it out.
I don't think they're doing that in America. No more things about the profits. I know, keep it away from the law. What can you watch?
Because one of the guys, this is how funny it is. It's American reality TV show. So it's stage this for the point. It's like real type thing.
But one of the guys is being chased by the fire marshal. Because the fan gave me his house and the fire. But the fans, all the tins and moonshine. So he's been living in the woods apparently in Heinrich.
He's getting angry at the other people because they keep bringing shift food. And put the film through, form a round. So they're doing something that's highly illegal. They don't get facts on the profits to make.
But they've got a fucking film group. I mean, Dynasty got away with it for so long. But I'm saying, it's on Discovery Channel, this moonshine. It's one of the most fascinating and weird thing you'll ever watch.
The moonshine, that tastes of cherries, licorice, apple pie and stuff like that. So some of the flavors, but they're charged for a job. It's like you need a fortune to say, like be able to afford this stuff. But it's like $50,000 a jar and stuff, like $50 a jar and stuff, but it's not on by cases.
And it's just like, say one of the most bizarre things I've watched, watching them trying to get weevils out of court. So yes, that was how I'm telling my week has been. Goodwill, you were on the last time you mentioned this program. Isn't it hilarious how much it's based on money talks about it?
I can genuinely say, in about ten years time, when Paul just had enough of those fuck it, just retiring in some backwater in the middle of Fortnoor, where in America, we don't worry. Or in the middle of the show, we say. No, no, no, no, no, that's inbreeding. I'm on a blue shine.
And you don't greeze. Oh, no. In you don't greeze with your coonskin cap. Right, just sat in a little bit and just occasionally just scored ball beans.

It's, um, right. My week. So I've been very fully. So all I've done is just watch it on the telly and I finally watched the shape of water.
I have now seen it and it was fantastic. I also watched being in the Recados with Javier Bardem and what's he, what's the name you call Kidman in the seal ball and Desi? And yeah, and it was so good. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
But what I've mainly been watching is the sore franchise because when I get sick apparently, I just want to watch a lot of gold. So, and it leads nicely into this week's episode. So I'm going to do the disclaimer and then we're just going to get into franchises. And this is the disclaimer that she's done on the BBC.

Yes, well done. Thank you. So yes, the main topic of this is franchise, favourite franchise. So my question to start with as well, because I'll try to come to conversation with this about my dad today and I wanted to bang me head against the wall.
I'm not going to be like, because he was telling us everything I was talking about was not a franchise. I was like, well, what would you define as a movie franchise or not even a movie franchise like a franchise thing? Because he started showing up saying that McDonald's was the biggest franchise. Possibly, but I'm not saying it's my favourite.
So yes, so what would you classify as a franchise, I keep wanting to say a movie, but moving away from the movie aspect, the franchise aspect. Media franchise, yes. I know you would have the media experience, but you'll be fine with that one. Oh, God.
What would I consider a franchise? What is my favourite franchise? What would you consider a favourite franchise? We'll go to the favourite in a little bit.
Oh, what would I consider a franchise? It's hard to really pin. Oh, isn't it? If you look at, well, a six-star was, for an example.
Star was, I would say, that and James Bond were the first franchises. Because if you look at Star Wars, it was three movies, three and done, that was it. For 20 years, that was a franchise because it created a cult following. It had loads and loads of toys.
It became embedded into the psyche of a generation and another generation and another generation. A franchise, I think, is something that just has such a profound effect that lasts. So, like I said, to a lesser extent, James Bond, because obviously that shit started in the 60s. And that's still going on Star Wars.
Indiana Jones, to a lesser extent as well. These are what I classify as media franchises. What were you, Jess? I think, yeah, to find a franchise, it's when Smith's get like gone, it's Star Wars especially.
When you start seeing it being referenced and everything else, like I did a whole series of the first movies. When you start getting into that and it becomes literally pop culture, you don't even need to watch the original, you'll already know what it is. It seems to me like, why not that? Yeah.
Yeah, that's when you hit franchise level. Or if you get multiple spin-offs from a cult, it's not like points. Yeah. But almost like a world building starts to happen.
Again, this is happening with Star Wars now, but I'm just like, I'm on the lorry and I'm not about that. I'm not about to do that. Yes. I think it's like a cragga-on, like entity type thing.
What about you, Sammy? I'm not going to agree with what everyone's saying, but it's the brands, essentially. It's Brandon. Yeah, I agree.
But I disagree with, I'm going to be controversial here and disagree with Goodwill for once. Oh, my gosh. What? What?
I think franchise has been around a lot longer than it'll kind of expect. Because like, say when this I'd made in movies, all it did was to create the franchise. If you look at like, Love, Runhardy, The Marks Brothers, like, say, all them type of things and anything that came with it, and then the film wasn't important. It was the name of the actor.
So you got actors that were the franchise players and that's where the studio is just a bit conveyed and paid for the actors to be in their movie slowly. So I think that's what's always been the case is I think with franchises as well, it's always been about making more money and where the money's got, like, how to grow and get bigger. And I'm even like going back to like, universal horror movies and stuff like that. All that come under the same type of bracket.
So it's always been around. I think it's been a phrase that's probably been coined more recently or, when I say recently, probably in the last 30, 40 years, then it was back in the day. All it was back in the day was like, we have to make money, but that's again, I think now with the word franchise, it's come a little bit of a dirty word if that makes sense. Because that's what everyone wants.
Everyone wants a franchise. They don't want to make these independent one-off movies or like, to get risks. Everyone wants to share a thing. And like, say, the franchise doesn't have to be a movie.
It could be like a computer game. It could be like a book or like, say, because I said, James Bond, when it comes to movies, it got bigger, but James Bond started, like, say, the novels and some group from there as well. So it's always interesting because I like asking that question because everyone, you mentioned the franchise, but it was sort of like movies and think of the big ones like Star Wars and other things. I'm sorry, did you take any of them there?
Tell them about what can get over it. I did it with the Universal thing because there was a huge thing, obviously, for us, like first appeared. The studios were going so much money as long as they could say he would be the main feature, plus Frankenstein. And so the ones that got funded, yeah, they would, the writer would go and be like, before they can kind of script across it, like, but I have this person, it's like, yeah, all the way in the world.
And Bella hated that because he never had that session. I think the sweet thing about what I was called, I've actually done at one point. So when obviously the decline of Bellagolsey happened, he gets the third Frankenstein film. Bellagolsey appears in that.
Yes. Pretty sure it's not. Yes. And he basically made them pay him the same route that, or as hell if he was getting, because he was like, this guy's a legend.
Without him, I wouldn't be so he'd in mind doing pay him his respects. He's such a big part of it. Yeah, also campaigned for the screen after scale as well, but all actors should get paid for what they're doing. It's a really interesting person.

So we need to talk. But you are right Paul. It comes to franchise. It's not people with franchises.
Marilyn was, Elle was, as with Taylor to a certain degree, they were all part of a franchise because they were all contract players. And a contract player is essentially franchise. I'm definitely, as we said earlier, I can't speak that moment tonight. It's one of them days.
You've had a long week. With a lot of actors as well, it's amazing that they were built as, when you watch the movie screens now, then the games come up before the actual movie title and stuff like that. It's crazy. Not many movie stars these years would be able to pull that off.
I'm probably making probably some one hand. Like the names of big actors that would come before that. You would say, I would say that after before you even find the notes about what the movie is about. I think Tom Hanks probably plays that part.
Oh, absolutely. And really not to cap your to a degree type thing, just because it's going to be interesting to depend on what type of role he's going to get. But I always say that when I think about franchises as well, as we always know, I am the biggest 80s nerd. I do think during the 80s, there were more risks here.
There was more, like, one of films where they weren't expecting a franchise. They were just looking to make a movie. Unless you can turn it around and say, not the movie was the franchise, but the director, because everyone thinks not one of the movies is what the John Hughes movie. So you can say, oh, some of the different films in that era, like John Hughes would have done it for students.
Yeah, it's a big one. So in their aspects, I think, I'm probably my judge until I look at the cloud. I would not say that when it comes to the 80s. But I do think there was more risks taken back then.
There was more like films like License to Drive. They weren't expecting to be sequel to that. And Paris viewers, they are even more that's been hinted about so many years, but you can't really follow that. Please don't.
And again, I'll talk about it now. I'll get it. We're the coonies, for example. If they want to do a movie, you don't need to do any more.
If you do, it's not going to work. It's not going to have to say magic. What does it mean to do? I know the story of now of how they were TV show apparently.
But again, I'm not going to say it and stuff like that. But then they flip them all and you get back to the future, which shouldn't work as a sequel. But as a trilogy, it's probably the best trilogy that was ever made. And again, to me, if they're still, I would have to class as one of the biggest franchises out there, because the merchandise and everything that still go about still goes crazy.
So coming back to the franchise topic, though, I'm quite interested in what is, what you would class as your favorite franchise. So I'll go to you first with that, Sammy. Oh, me. Well, it's going to be an obvious one.
It'll always be Ghostbusters. If it's media, a franchise will always be Ghostbusters and it initially didn't start that way. You only had two movies, two class two movies as a franchise base. Yeah, because it's had a cartman, it's had books, it's had games, so they say that everything that comes with it.
Yeah. Now I'm just thinking back then what I've said was the franchise, but now given the media that comes with it, you've got new movie last year, year before, year before. Oh, it's last year. 2021 2021, we're in 2021.
Still last year. And you won comment at the end of the year and you had the third installment, which I'll still will not argue over. I have no problem with it. So yeah, it was supposed to do to run that, of course.
So of course, it's just for the nostalgia fail or is it just because of the quality? Both. Good. Both.
I still think it's supposed to do this day hold up. I still think it's a hilarious film. And I guess probably a lot of you bouncing the skills for only more nostalgia than. I'm a bigger fan of the second one than I am the first one of the originals.

There is a fantastic article how they put so much money and work into him where the actor was actually stood in the painting and he could try from the front. He could just move to the side. And you always get that franchise rivalry was like, oh, you have a Star Wars, a Star Trek, I'm both, get over it. You can enjoy two or more things, guys, come on.
