everyone and welcome to the Nodioff podcast. It's a Nodioff podcast that is hosted by Northern Nodes. I am Wadiohosam. And I'm the host Paul and I am very fucking warm today.

Sorry I'm sweating a lot. And we are joined by a very special guest tonight to meet Nodioff podcast debut, not just a Nodioff podcast debut, her podcast debut overall. So yes, we are joined by the lovely Suzanne and if you don't know Suzanne, I put a link to her Instagram in the description below. So if you click on it, she has one of the best horror collections on Instagram that I've seen and yes, I am very fucking jealous.

You literally have no more room. There's always space. What are you kicking off? Because things are starting to spill out the Nod room.

So yes. I love how you looked at the ceiling. There's some space. To be fair though, I have thought about putting some fishing wire and hanging the Millennium Falcon off there.

I would. Because it's a big bang and then we head over from so often. So yes, as with any new guest on the podcast, we always do get them to tell us a little bit about themselves. And I did pre-1 Suzanne because I didn't want to scare her and just go, tell us about yourself and watch her freak out.

But yes, tell us a little bit about your nerdy credentials there, Suzanne. Well, my name is Suzanne and I just love horror. All things horror so he didn't burn in just all that. And I collect horror, I've been collecting for about two and a half year now.

Two and a half years. Yeah. Wow. Wow.

A bit like a bit, but tiny bit longer than that. I have to lock down. Like half years ago, I was at any lockdown. So I want everything that is spooky and everything that can scare anyone.

I want this. I want that house. I want my house a bit like that. Very good.

I love that. I did the same thing. Similar to a lockdown, I decided I wanted to go and sit on a stuff in the living room and turn the living room into almost like a home theater. It didn't last very long, but it wasn't an idea that lockdown madness that we said brought forward.

So with your collection as well, because I know before we start getting into the episode, I wanted to be a little bit nosy as well. So what is your favourite or your pride and joy part of your collection that you've got there? Can you chuck your plush? Oh, that's one bad.

Go on, go on, go on, grab them. Go on, go on, go on. Chucky plush. Good one.

I feel the chakra. Oh, look at the chakra. Oh, look at these studios. Yeah.

Quiz hair. You've cut his hair. Yeah, it was really long. I didn't like it.

It just looks like a pride and joy. It looks like a younger version of Goodwill. That's so yeah. It is.

It's Michael. One of the came of the podcast Michael Goodwill. It does attract episodes, but I'd like to torture him from time to time. He's not in the chat night, so it's all right.

Yes. So you're chucky. So when did you get each of each of us in all of them? Middle of the air, I think.

All right. Cool. So I've not had a lot. He's barely in addition to the collection.

He would have been each of the time. So April, around about then I got him and I noticed he's out of the box. He doesn't come in the box. He doesn't come in the box.

Not because he's the plush. He's not like nor the other ones that do the tiffany, the glam. How they're quite hard, he can stand to them. This is like the rag.

Once I know and start a child's paper and he gets them and they'll grab him around. That's what he's like. I think I saw in a video on you Instagram, not that I've been sorting Instagram much. You were swinging like, say, child's rear around quite freely.

Almost like you're like in love. It was like a scene from Titanic, I believe. It was like quite the whole stanza. I was like, oh, very, very well.

I didn't know they didn't come in a box. That would be a. Everything needs to be come out of a box on you. You can't keep things in the box forever.

They need to breathe. No, no, actually that's a lie because my car reigns is out of the box. So clearly I go back on that quite easily. I've got a few things in boxes that could come out, but I'll probably do another charge.

Absolutely. Shall we do the disclaimer and get into the episode? Yes, score for it. Okay.

So everything discussed in today's episode is our opinions and our opinions alone. If you'd like to discuss anything from today's episode, please come and join us in the Facebook group, the Discord or the comments section where we can have an open discussion. What we want to have is anyone coming for us and telling us our opinions are wrong. We can all agree to disagree and abandon.

So let's keep it fun, keep it kind and keep the toxic behaviour out of notism. Well, very said that she did actually that on the BBC once as well. Yes, I did. I was going to say twice, but it wasn't.

It was just the one set was on there. No, it was the one with the creatures. Yeah, we talked about the Goonies on the first one. That was the first one.

Yes. So yes, the reason why we thought we'd kick off September, this is the first proper episode in September, and we'll do the spooky season a little bit early. Normally, we do start in an uploader and go all out horror for our tour. We'll start a little bit early because everyone else seems to be starting in September now.

So I did leave this question a little bit open ended as well. So favourite scares in movies or scary scenes in movies. So I wanted to like not like in a broader scope, not just like say in horror movies. So I thought that would be quite an interesting take because there's probably as we discussed before we went live, there's a lot of movies out there that probably did scare us that weren't like the quintessential horror movies or even like outright horror movies.

So just interesting to see what scared you guys and like what how fucked you are really so that would be the interesting thing. So starting off, so with it being the guest will be the nice one. So what is your first favourite scare in our, well, sorry, movies, I'm going to pigeonhole it a little bit. Well, like Corona.

Anytime. Anytime. Anytime. I think first of all, I was probably the guy from the Goonies, but here you guys.

How can you be scared of Slo? Oh my gosh, that's one of all, he actually told five minutes ago and Grammarians did as well. Grammarians, I remember Sam Grammarians. I remember Sam Grammarians.

But if you heard of Sam there, that was my heart breaking to busy using Sloet and the Goonies. Sloet and Sloet, did you just say it's scare? It's not Sloet and it's not scary. My mum said it's really good.

Is a friendly guy? See? You can see a lot. I was just trying to be in the chocolate bar and stuff.

I just find it as a kid. It's definitely like you did. Sin at all. The Goonies did give us one of my first ever jumpscares as a kid.

When the bats came out from under the fibless, when chunks about to get his hand puree in the blender. Oh yeah. And you see mama, fatales here, puree in the blender and you see chunk just pure a mess, an emotion. And then the fibless just flips out in all these bats and you see Francis going hide your hair, hide your hair.

This is a good episode again. Sorry. Oh yes. Gremlins are the very good ones as well.

Because I always use getting on easy cleaning with gremlins. There was always two scenes with gremlins that used to freak me out. One when you first see the gremlins going into coming out with the cocoons and stuff causing shit. Like when they were actually out with the cocoons and doing stuff that was hilarious.

But when the fucking ate that chicken, I've never seen anything so disgusting as when the other muglet mugwisers are sitting eating the legs of chicken and it's just like greasy messy stuff all over the face. It was one of the most disgusting things I had seen as a child. Good ones to start with. So I always like a good game.

You start with kick us off. As the chat's already seen as well. So what you saw me, what scared you? I was like, I know you were dark, the demented soul.

So what terrified you? I'm very, very young age. And the best thing I've probably scat was probably all dogs go to heaven. Right.

Okay. The concept and idea of all dogs go to heaven was horrifying for us. The idea, it was dealing with death at such a young age and like, oh my gosh, I'm gonna lose everything at some point. Yeah, that's scared the life out of us.

But I mean, everyone knows, if you've listened to podcast before, you know my story on dolls. And the one in particular who can go and get in the fucking bin is Dolly Dearest. She give me nightmares for a very long time. I've never owned baby dolls because of that doll.

I've never owned, like in my younger years, didn't own dolls because I was terrified of them. And she was evil. And I noticed the other day, she's kind of getting like a little bit of a resurgence. People are starting to talk about her again.

It is horror documentary. The darkness of being put in on posts and some of the last couple of ones are being Dolly Dearest. And I'm like, no, no, don't do this. Don't bring her back.

Do not bring her back. She's awful. And yeah, so all those go to heaven and talk to you as well. It's a bit of a contrast of it.

I can understand being tormented by like all dogs who are having it was one of the saddest movies that was ever made that was never made by Disney. It was one of the dreamworks films was at all. I think so. Yeah, it's just it's a concept and idea of it.

It's like ghost with Patrick Swayze. That is horrible. That idea of being able to come back but then go like that's a that's truly to the core horrible and terrifying and scary. I don't like things like that.

I think if I go on like first and early scares, like the ones that jump out of mine, I could like say go to the obvious and say the never ending story. Like I said, literally all the other film is night now. But probably the earliest one that scared me the most. I think that really brings us into foggy.

Just think about the never ending story now like a trail. I'm the internal darkness that just keeps coming for you. The first ever scare. I had it in me head and just completely gone now.

Probably was like never ending story. The rock monster. It's horrifically awful. I've only ever watched it once as a kid.

That's enough. And my memory is shockingly bad. So if I've only seen a movie once, I've technically not seen it. I've had it a hundred times all that.

So I say suicide looks young enough that she's probably never seen the never ending story. It's a wish dragon. It's a wish dragon. I like that.

The first ever film that did actually terrify me and I remember watching it because we went on a bus trip to France. I got on a holiday. It was a time when we didn't fly. So we got to to Kalya and get the ferry across.

And on the bus down, we watched this movie and it was literally, and it's kind of sound weird because it's full of puppets. Dark Crystal. It's a big thing to get in the fucking bin. I don't know why I was so scared of it, but just, like I said, the Skegsies when you say them now, like I know we got a rea, not a rea, a rea, a review on Netflix, not too long ago and it was good, but it wasn't as terrifying and as scary as as the original Dark Crystal.

And I remember behind behind like the me-man on the bus seats when they had this film on because it was one of them ones where it was like not on the back of the seats that you get now. It was like on the coach, a little 10 inch TV, and I was literally scared to watch it and it terrified us for this year. I think I didn't even put his watch in Labyrinth for a little while, like I got a little bit of oil and they said, I realised that they were made by the same people about different things. But yeah, Jim Henson could freak the fuck out, and he the fuck was back there.

Yeah, Skegsies are just the worst and you probably write, I probably put off Labyrinth for a long time because of them. And he thought Turtles was violent and he created them. It was too bad or dark, it wasn't violent. It was just dark and scary.

Yeah, yeah, but what's worse? The title Chuck and the Numb Chuck around or a Skegsie? I've seen that fight now, get the Harry L. I'll get it.

Go on. We're coming back to different types of scares because there is a lot of different sides of scares you get from movies and different events as well. And I know some from Taunt you about movies itself, Jump scares you is kind of the worst. You don't like them.

It does take a while to recover after a jump scare. Yeah, it doesn't just take me time to recover. It takes everyone else who's sitting around this time as well. And I would say evil days rung by myself when it was out and I had a message in beforehand and say, right, I need to know is there any jump scares again?

Because obviously that would have been the difference in me going on. Yeah, because I have screamed a cinema down before. How you really? Yeah, and then it conjured into that is jumping.

Like I'm not like, I'm too pretty like it's jumping. Yeah, it's like a good job. There's been a couple of times when we played Fantasmophobia or when we've watched the ghost stuff where I have screamed down the money. Imagine that in a cinema.

It was I wasn't even embarrassed actually. I was like, yeah, I did that. So coming to jump scares as well. What are your biggest memories?

All jump scares are like biggest favourite ones. We'll go and we'll ask you first. Definitely the country in two is a favourite because just the reaction of everyone else around is I think I really, yeah, I really scared a lot of people. But the best one was it wasn't even a horror.

It was minority report. Right. And I was so into this movie. I was like, glued to it and there was just a moment of silence.

And then my husband shocked us. Right. I I levitated off the bed. Like literally levitated.

He says that there was a moment where he saw it was just I completely come off the bed. Or because he had a tendency for doing that. And we were watching Cloverfield. And we're watching it on a really dodgy copy.

Like on the laptop, like dead trying to like see it and everything. And because I know he had a tendency for shock and it was the best, not to shake. And I was like, I was like, where's the story going then? I wish it was that.

I propped a booted off of them screaming like, what are you doing? Like, I just want to watch this. And he went, I'm not doing that. And we put our hands on the wall and we were having an earthquake, like an earth tremor.

And I was like, oh, he's never ever done a since. So you went bed with your husband and he made the world move for you there. Oh, sorry for you. That was 16 years ago.

Oh, you're saying, what jumpscare is like, jump out to you? Shall we see it? Carrie, like the end of the party. I didn't expect that at all.

I didn't expect that at all. I'm kind of quiet myself a little bit like a lie. Yeah. And I don't even know.

I want that really first text to change to my skirt when he comes out and grabs Sally again. That person. Like that literally made me like, want to find a little bit of a lie. There's a couple of bits.

There's a Texas change on us because one of me favourites. And there's a couple of bits in there that like still even how many times I'm singing. It still get us. And the one time that I'm saying the one that gets us the most is where he comes out of nowhere behind the track behind the door, grabs him, hits him over the head with the hammer and you hear that.

Oh, yeah. And then you hear his feet hitting off the floor. Yeah, you do. Oh, it really like that's that only scares us, but it just gives us a little a little shudder.

Oh, see the Texas change on my house calls a bit over domestic the other night. Just because we were watching now, like on sugar, like the 20, like 101 scary moments like in horror and like Halloween shit, like towards the top 10 because there was a lot of bullshit in there. Sorry, I don't personal opinions this side, but we're talking about the Texas change on masker as one and my wife said that, oh, like she can't like it was a very violent movie. I was good in theory.

In certain aspects, I agree with the premise that I dare of it being very violent, but you see very little in the movie of much violence. It's all cut off the screen or like sharp cuts or when even when she's put on the spike, you don't see the spike going into it. So it's just the time that she's put on this very little blood in the movie. There's no that there is a little there's blood when she cut these hands on the bus.

Like say, let me try again. And when she's like getting the grandpa to hit her over the head and you see like blood tricking down a little bit and go over there. And then at the end when she's running away, she's covered because of all the different aspects we don't actually see blood being spilled or anything or people being chopped up as the premise of the movie that the key panelists, it's all done like small in mirrors. Like you look here, you don't see this or you want you to hear this, but it's the noise, like the chainsaw noise and the screaming that puts that fear and that sense of dread in you.

It's like an assault on all your senses. So like because I got to cut for that was being ridiculous when I said it wasn't a violent movie. Well, if you watch it back now, especially now it's on coat and like you see all the days and stuff back then like 23 years where you couldn't get a copy because it was like a video actually. But it's not as violent or as messy as people like to make out.

It's all about the impression or what it does in your own head. And I always think that's like a brilliant form of film-making that they can do that. Oh, I was like, you know, as well, like, Halloween's similar, like you don't see any blood in Halloween, you don't see much happening, you just kind of like the jump scares and then the music and then like just the way Michael acts in jamble as well. It's kind of makes you like- It's atmospheric.

Yeah. It's a lot of deals with like the music in Halloween, but it's the idea of just being washed and not being able to do anything. The strangers do a similar thing to Halloween. It's kind of like I think that I know Michael Maia's can't happen, but the fact that someone could hunt you down or could attack you in your own home and they don't need a reason for it.

And that to me is one of the most scary aspects that can be like info. Just because I can. Yeah. Don't like that.

You just unlock a call memory there. Our middle one Texas chainsaw got its release, its rerelease and music zone had an anniversary copy of it. I love that. I would love to know where that went.

I've got to still do. So yeah. No, no. Right.

But jump scares for me. I say that the two of us, there's a few that always jump out. The jaws, but not the aspect that you expect. It's the head when he's going underwater and you're a dray of the character is certain the boat and he looks in the hall and you expect the shark to come out.

Well, it's not. It's the head. It's the head and it's like a proper nasty and like that aspect just makes me like even watching now I still know what's going to happen. And I still jump.

And I think that's always like a good jump scares. It's where they use them. Not like all the time. Like say, as we get now, we're watching a movie and it's like jump out here, jump out there.

And you can almost like and piss up here there and certain aspects where you can't. I'm similar to you about Curry, but the original Friday the 13th when Jason actually comes out the lake and grabs it. Yeah. And I remember saying that as a kid and actually like levitating off the sofa and going what the fuck has happened because to be fair, the original Friday of 13 isn't a scary movie.

It's a very silly slasher movie. And there's a lot of fun elements to it. Like the work with Kevin Birken, how he got the arrow through, he's nooking and saying that work now is absolutely a masterpiece and like practical effects. But that one jump scare that really gets you in that film is the end and it's just so well done.

It's the reason my dad can't watch horror movies. All right. Is Friday the 13th. Absolutely gets them.

And it's because of that. He's never gotten over it. I can't remember the first time watching Friday the 13th. So I can't remember my initial reaction to it.

And but there was one at one. Oh, why is this happening? My head. I'm thinking of so many of like these things as you talk and then they're just disappearing.

What is going on? Yeah, keep talking and I'll come back to it. It's gonna be further the biggest jump scare that I believe in movie history. And I can't believe you haven't mentioned it yet.

It is probably the greatest jump scare ever made. And it isn't well, what would be classed as a horror movie? If it took the jokes out of it, I've mentioned before, it would be the scariest movie ever made is Ghostbusters. The library was yeah, this is not my jump scare, but this is my sisters.

So Ghostbusters is my all-time favorite movie for nearly 10 years of my life. I sat and watched Ghostbusters nearly every every day that in train places. And which also has a disgusting scene in it as well with an agroiding the salmon. But whenever I put it on, because guaranteed it went on at least once a day, Mikayla would go on a mere co-wear to the stairs, sit on the stairs with her fingers and her ears, and her hands like that, covering herself.

And then she would wait a few minutes and then she would come back in and watch the rest of it. She absolutely hit the beginning of it. Never bothered me. I absolutely loved it.

I was just desensitized to horror very young, so nothing really scared us. And that's why we got the flower that is Sami Tidia. So just the whole laid up and build up two courses, because as you said, you've got the hint and you don't actually physically see the ghost at the beginning. You just see the after effects.

And then when you see this old woman, well, just floating across the room and then the creaming up towards her and I can see her. Yeah. It's framed out and then the turn round and the transformation, it was absolutely breathy and really well done. And so on.

Practical. All practical. So we got like scares. So why is it that like, say, because as you can probably see by old backgrounds, like things, we are quite a lot of horror fans in this chat as well.

Why is it that being scared or horror movies kind of attracts to you? Like, say, what is it that appeals to you? Like being scared? As a kid, I hate it.

Like, as a kid, I wouldn't even go past a ghost train. I remember the time where I had a new car set up and my mom would take it as in like my sister, like, Mrs. I like to her. She wasn't talking about what she was like, she liked the night my nan street and I was sitting there and I was like, no, not happening.

Not gonna happen. And I was just gonna watch another okay now. I'm fat. And I think it's a buzzy after my eyes like, no, we get initial jumpscare and then you get the adrenaline.

Like, I like the adrenaline buzz you get from it. It's almost like you survived a horror movie as well. That's the thing. No, it's like, oh, I'm fine.

I'm just going to scare me now. Watch that. That was the same with me with when after I'd watched Oli Dearest and I had, I had some severe bad nightmares from it. Like literally sitting in, they haven't sleep in my parents bedroom.

And but once once the time went on and I realized, oh, nothing's happened. Nothing's actually happened. And I'm still okay. I just went, okay, what next?

What next? What next? Can I push myself to? Yeah.

And you've got to remember as well, like, I think when you're okay, it's you think it's literally a VR and then I'm watching like, oh, it's not real. It's like, practical effect. It's a bit, but then I was like, on the bottom now. Yeah, my sister's dolls are not coming alive.

So it's always good in my house. I can move on now. Well, if you're saying, sorry, there might still be this, let's see, sorry, could be a fucking scary movie. Do you want to do me as well?

That's very true. I often hope that my toys don't come alive at night. I don't think I could cope with the amount of Jar Jar that I've got walking around. Oh my god.

I'm going to turn around because I'm going to turn my light on. Very good. I'm going to do have trousers on. You're giving me all the plastettes.

That's fine. I have clothes on. Well, yeah, for me as well, because I've always loved anything to do with movies, like not just horrible, anything, they were like, like anything since I seen The Wizard of Oz, I was hooked, I can say the imagination. But for me, anything that was like a little bit scary or a little bit hurry was more imaginative.

There was more stuff going into it, especially in the eighties. And like, say when we had like the Freddy Krueger careers and stuff like that, Jason, like the Halloween, Steevel Dead and stuff like that. And one thing that always drew to me and wasn't actually watching the movies, I think it was like a post in the main about what not to do. I was going to Blochbusters, I was going to the local video club and looking in the horror section.

And just looking at the horror section and looking at the video covers, because like you used to get like, that's been like some of the movie posters and stuff, which is like things like ghosts, as you mentioned with Patrick Swayze was just like a blue line around people. Yeah, I'm glad Donna killed him. But when it comes to like the horror movie section, like if you walk back at the horror movie covers, like a nightmare, nine, three, three warriors that cover is a work of art. If you look at like the original evil dead video cover, that poster is fucking terrifying.

It's like seeing them aspects and stuff. And it kind of like brought on the imagination for me. And then you move on to like the fantasy films. And there is some very scary, like honey films, like there was aspects of the Wizard of Oz that terrified me as a kid, like that, which they're going after Pouatoro.

But then going to like, not modern, but like going to the eighties type style of fantasy where you've got legend with, with like the like the meagub and the like how the like the goblins looked and how Tim Perry looked as the developer in that movie. I was drawn to it, but fuck me was I terrified of it as well. Like, I don't know what it is. It's just always intrigued as an interest as well.

I kind of like being scared at the same time. Now there is movies I won't watch because of like other figures and pushing the boundaries too far. Like for example, I think we talked about it. I can't watch the descent just because of terrifying color.

Like it is quite intense. Do that in that game in the start of Pierre and I've got the things. But one thing that I did it was the fact that there were crawling through such tight spaces and to the point where I could feel me skin crawling at the point. And I didn't even realize I was claustrophobic until I watched that movie epic.

Wow, I'm not claustrophobic. The only thing I took away from that film is how did you turn into Laura Croft so quickly? The only thing I took away from that movie. I loved it.

I thought it was absolutely brilliant. Such intense horror. Like, really good. I actually need to watch it again.

I feel like I'm doing something on monsters with it much. It was more concentrated on the fact you've just flipped the switch very quickly and turned into Laura Croft. Like I did not say that coming. Survival instinct.

It happens. Like, see you've got to do what you're going to do. I would have probably just crawled in a ball and discovered. Well, I've got lots of eyeball instinct.

The zombie apocalypse happens tomorrow. I'm dead an hour after it happens. Like, I have no survival instincts whatsoever. So what comes in?

Is there any other horror films that scared you or like say too much that you couldn't watch again? Or is it is no off limits type thing? There's there's one for me if I can bring it off. I'm going to say one right now.

Mine's kind of a Holocaust. That's what I love. I've got 10 minutes into it and went now. I can't.

I tried. Canibals is my is my Achilles heel. I can't. The idea of cannibals absolutely freaks me the fuck out.

And I thought I'm going to push it. I'm going to push it the boundaries and I'm going to do this 10 minutes. I'm like, can't do this. Need something nice and sweet.

Oh, sleepy hollow. We'll watch that shall we? Um, could not do it. I was.

It is. It hadn't even gotten into anything. It tends past, but the idea of it starting to happen. And so it's going to happen.

And Michaela said, skip the turtle part. I went full for that. I don't do anything with animals in movies. I can't do.

So I was like, now you're just cannibals animals. I'm out. Wasn't the room as well. That actually was like, people can kill the animals being.

You got to talk to court for it. Yeah, we got a resident took to court. And it was proven it was all yeah, all false. But you did get arrested and taking the court over it.

I think someone said about the turtle as we are. Like the turtle. I don't know too much back. But that was that turtle.

So you must apparently be real. I think it was a pig or monkey, but you did get a court or for it. Yeah, he did. But he had to really prove that it really wasn't real.

And the role actors didn't I? I rough turn green needed to make with the green and certain water. I love that movie. I love being infernal.

It's just like I like cannibals. Obviously some you add, I can't believe now. So I think I need something now. I love the wrong turns.

Like I think I've got the wrong turns. I guess the wrong rules, but the funny when I was being infernal, it's nothing like kind of a Holocaust and that it is the tribal aspects. Yeah. And it was students and the court I like visited them.

And that is part of it. But it's more funny. Yeah. Like the fire kids and it.

I'm like, what's your name? Like it's Matt. Like it's Matt. And it's some scenes where like, I don't have to say this, but when they're like, have that in the system, that all like giggling and running around and then get them on cheese and stuff, and then it was a bit crazy.

I was like, this is a bit community in the way. I love being infernal. I wish I could get away with more kind of a movie because I am missing out on quite a bit. I wish I could get away with more cannibals.

I wish I could get away with more cannibals. I wish I could get little movies. It just makes us all called inside, like really called inside, but silence of the lambs and the Hannibal Booxie, like a series of the Boox is my favorite of all time. I absolutely fucking love it.

I'm going to be hopping upstairs and down at me right now. But it's the fear that I got when I initially watched it. I've told a story before on the podcast, but I'm going to let's do this on here again. I watched silence of the lambs for the first time when I was 10 years old in the sleepover at a friend's house.

And I had to ask the question because they kept going, I said, wait, it's the same way it comes out with the mask on and they're like, oh, it's Hannibal the Cannibal. Yeah. And I was like, what's the Cannibal? And I told this.

And I got that scared. I got a trap now. I mean, like, what would again nothing happens? Nobody came to eat this.

So but yeah, it's one of my favorite franchises of all time. I fucking love it. It's all Cannibal. It's like, it's pretty realistic.

Like there's been cannibals like, it can happen. It can really happen. I've been in half happened before. And I think like when I first watched, was it wrong turn four, but in like the snow, the snow, I first watched that and actually, like I almost had a panic time.

I met that like, crap, these people are like, these people are like, like, I'll let it go. What did you think of the remake of wrong turn? I don't think it should have been called from turn. It should have been called the foundation, like, well, it should have been called it.

It wasn't, it wasn't bad. Like, I'll watch it again. Yeah. That's my only, that's my only thing into the wrong turn franchise is that movie.

I've never watched any of the other ones. And we get a review for it. So I had to watch it. And I enjoyed it.

I was more, well, I was good. I think with the wrong turn franchise, as you said, it got more stupid and more ridiculous and more inbred as you went along, I think. But the new one, I like the fresh take. It felt the smidge too long.

I love the ending. I thought the ending was done really. But yeah, I can probably agree. If you put it up to the original wrong turn, where it's basically like, was Alicia Dooku?

Was it right? Yeah, I think it's from Buffy. Yeah, I think it's in the front cover. Yeah, like that one was actually a decent, very, very much a scary, like, real telling of top ring deal going wrong, I think.

But with this, I quite liked it as well. But again, I think the bit with that, the scary bit with that bit is when they go into the, like, the caves and you've got all the people that weren't chosen, they've all had the eyes taken out. And that bit was, I'd say that idea and that premise just freaked me the fuck out quite a lot. Yeah, leave me eyes alone.

So we've already established, like, say what Sammy, the cannibals is the thing that scares her, the most of freaks out, like, living goals. So what are the things that freak you out the most, or scare you the most, shall we say? It used to be clowns. It had a really big four-year clown.

Right, it took a couple of times now, I love all the clowns playing like that. And now I'd say, apocalyptic sort of movies, like when there's like a virus going around and everyone's like, I like that actually like terrifies me. What was that real? Real.

Real sick. What was the movie that came up before the pandemic? Was it contagious? I think it was, yes.

And I feel like it's just, because obviously Corbin's up, as well. And I was watching the crazies. Right. Yeah.

And Corbin, I was like, I was like, this actually feels like quite close up. I'm like, it's too real. I'm like, it's like, it's like, it's still, I'm just, I'm just like, I'm fine with zombies, but when it's like a disease that just spreads so quick and everyone just goes crazy, it just flicks me out with bad things that's called. So, yeah.

So, like, so across all the with our 20, like 20 years later, like, see with the virus infection and was obviously as well. Yeah. Yeah. With me, I probably is not scary.

I'm a complete wuss when I come to anything, I know good with it. Like, I think one of the stories I told is I went with cinema to see three Kings and when he got his lung hunched in the button and alien, tell them, breathe, I stood up and passed out and fell over three rows in front of us, because I'm just that much of a. You have never told that story. Three years and you have never let that gem out.

But yeah, I was born in cinema as well. So yeah, that that. So when it comes to like, like, probably gory messy stuff, like, I do enjoy the soul movies. I thought the first sort is an absolute doesn't get a credit.

It deserves because of the whole torture porn target. It gets it gets put on it. But I think as a whole, it's a very clever movie and quite intense. You mentioned one just before, Art the Clown.

I have watched the terrifying movies. I do not understand the terrifying movies. I still, I think art is a very interesting character, but can please explain what the fuck is going on with these movies? I don't think there's any explanation for it whatsoever.

It's just, he's there. He torches. He gills. It's done.

And I do agree with the sort. Obviously, you know, people in the podcast will know my love of the sort of franchise. But the first saw movie, speaking of jumpscares, that end scene with Tobin Bell when he stands up. It's when he stands up and you're like, fuck, first time ever.

I remember watching it and just being like, because I am, you know, there was no, there was no internet as we have today when I first watched this and there was no spoilers or anything. So I didn't know what I was in for. And when it's when he stands up. Yeah.

And after that, it's like, oh, you like, you get over it very quickly in the whole, I love the last line when he says game over and causes the door. Like that gives me chills. I love it. But that stand up when he stands up.

No, I think I was ready to leave. I was like, no, I'm out the fuck. But no, I was just before when he stands up as well, just before I just after when he gives him the flashback, I just have, sorry, and the lab that's in the bathroom, there's all the, like, say, insidious movies with them. And you find out the key was in the bath with him and just when he just went, he sat up and brought the plug went down and you find out that that was his only way out.

I thought that was quite ingenious. Because to be fair, he was a scumbug, but he hadn't done anything that wrong. It wasn't terrible. But like we talked about on the Monster's episode of Jigsaw, in every scenario, every single scenario, he tells you how to get out of it.

It is, you're just either not listening, or there's a couple of who have the man to do it, the man to listen very well. So she got herself out of the head trap, eating, and but yeah, a lot of people don't listen. And it all back by is on them. And he, I think it's a bit unfair on Adam to say he wasn't listening because he, his reaction at the beginning, it was underwatering, and he got out and he's foot knocked it.

Yeah. So it, I really think that's so unfair to say that Adam wasn't paying attention. It was just really unfortunate. Yeah, it was unlucky that he managed to unplug the water and the key went down at the same time.

Damn, look, how many paid for it? Now going back to, like I say, one that we mentioned earlier, I wanted to talk a little bit more on about this film as well, because I remember going to say this in the movies and actually being affected by the movie. So much that I couldn't, I didn't want to be in the house alone. I didn't want to have the lights off was the strangers.

I can remember, like, I know we talked about scary moments, but from start to finish in that movie, that is uncomfortable. It is on, it's one of those movies where you think, oh, it's gonna be fine. There's a big meme actress in it, just gonna get out, it's gonna be okay. And it doesn't.

And the simple premise of the movie is they were home and the answer to the door. Like that literally terrified the maid to the point where I was like, and it was one of those where I watch it back now, when I can enjoy it, but watching it for the first time in the cinema that they're like, screen, that's the one where the whole audience scores quiet, not because they're not enjoying it, is because they're having the come to God moment, like, oh shit, this could fucking happen. And I know at the start, all the end it says this, these will be a song through events and all. It's never really been said which true events it was ever based on, but that would be something that could be interesting.

But did you have the same reaction to the strangers when you first saw it? I think it was the one line at the end when she's like, why did you do things, just turns around and just goes, because you were home. And I was like, that's harsh. It was like, wow.

It's just a massive thing to say. It's harsh. I've never seen it. You've never seen it.

I've never seen it. I didn't feel like I needed to because watch multiple role-in-a-fourers when they showed the end into it. And I saw the line when she says, you know, my own, because you've got your own kind of thing and never watched it. It's one that's not uncommon for me to say something like that.

This one would have been right up your street as well. I know, I know. There was one came out either just before or around about the same time as well, that had the same type of fail was no vacancy. But I said, she gets out with that one alive at the end.

But that's more about like video and ass these where people would keep people in a motel, killing them and selling off the video tape, stuff, and being killed to the Black Martyr and stuff like that. But again, done with the simlevian, that kind of shit kind of happened and go on as well. Other big scares for me. And again, it's probably down to the silly ones is, and I think the franchise gets a lot of shit now because of how many movies they've made and how outlandish it is, but the paranormal activity movies.

I love them. I love them. The first one. I love fan-futish movies.

So this was right up my street. Love. The first one is just pure genius. They absolutely pure genius.

It starts to lose us around about three, maybe four. Maybe four. Which one's the one the... This is not even in it, probably four.

But the first three are, I think, some of horror's greatest fan-futish movies. I do like the premise. It's one of those movies where I think that idea of doing one and going, oh, this has been successful. We're going to make a second one.

This has been successful. We're going to make a third one. It's like the story. It's horror all over.

Yeah, but it's like the story kind of flaws and cause together, but it's some clever film making as well. It's like one of those where you look and if you turn away for a second, you might miss something. Haunted and Hill House TV show on Netflix. Oh, the Haunted and Hill House.

Haunted and Hill House did a similar thing where I think in the season afterwards, they had a checkpoint where there was 26 hidden ghosts where you could go through and find them and then have a second. You can see them. There's one scene I always remember when she's walking down the stairs and there's at least three on the stairs. There's one fix in the clock, one m.

Dustin in one of the bottom of the stairs and I'm like, I don't know that because somebody pointed out and never noticed them originally. Never noticed them because you're not looking for them. No, but once you get told that there is these things in there, I end up spending most of the episode pausing it, rewinding it and saying where the fuck is these little bastards? It's almost like when you're watching Morat and he's looking at the paintings.

Why can't I not say the painting? It's a schooner. There's a lot of jumpscares in that as well. That is probably one of my favorite TV shows of whenever it came out because it was absolutely fantastic.

The Ben, Ben, Nick, the reveal of the actual lady was very, oh, that was just amazing. There's one moment where it's not even part of the family story is when Theodora realizes what's happening to that little girl when she sees a smiley face above her head and she oh, she always wanted to absolutely drop the tea into my eye that there's some brilliant jumpscares in there. I like the lights, man. I wanted to do this while I like the pictures.

I'm going to pick up a food flag, man. Or hold in. I thought the hoarding was more scary where the black matter was more beautifully done. It was like very like one mountain away.

Yeah, it was a very much love story through it. Yeah. There's got a new one coming out this year. What's the call the new one?

I don't know. Something like that. I don't know. Who's like, and earlier on the day said, I'd be watching the new American Horror Story when it comes out.

Why is that? And I went to King Kardashian's and it knew it. So what's the call? Those kids?

I don't know. He was like, when's it out? I was like, I have no idea. I think it's been out.

It's not the end of September when it comes out, but there's been hell on about that though. Yeah, it turns on it. Well, not just not just in during the strike that's going on now. Kim Kardashian went to Twitter and said, I'm really having loads of fun on set filming the new episodes of American Horror Story.

Oh, you weren't supposed to do that. It's a lot of people calling her out for being a scarb now as well. But she's not technically an actor. She's technically an actor.

But yeah, that was part of the agreement that you can work. If you've already contracted into work and you can work, but you can't talk about it and you can't promote it. That was part of the agreement. But she's not, she's not, she's not an actor.

She's, I'm still going to watch it. To be fair. I love Emma's back. I love Emma.

Yeah, I'm so happy to be back in there. It'll be like any other Ryan Murphy American Horror Story. We're going to love the beginning. We're going to fucking hate the end.

It's the same. Every American Horror Story apart from Covid in hotel, I will take them to out. But the rest of them, you can sit there and go out with such a really good fucking beginning. Oh, but what the fuck was going on at the end?
