And I'm the host Paul. And the hero of the hour, I was going to say the hero of Candy and Puttent and the Genes song there. And the guy that I saved over bacon, more times than he probably has joined us, the wonderful Graham, to talk about the boys from the dwarf. So I'm going to do a good play here, Sean, but I forgot.

I'll be honest. Should have done that. Yeah, we should have done that. That would be pretty cool.

Because I have always the hologram of the guy and the biggest asshole out of the lot of us. So that's why. I'm trying to think of who I would be. But I see some of the most stupid shit I'm probably a cat.

There you go. You probably should have. It's that weird thing though. You know everyone always goes like, oh, I'd be this person or oh, I'm just like this.

And they're basically always wrong. Like, you know, the sex has anything they take. Well, I'm a man, and it's like, no, you're the guy in the background doing nothing. You know what I mean?

Wow. But you know, all the time when someone says something, you just like, you wouldn't make it to me in Caspitch. You're an NPC, if ever. No, I would happily be a scutter, I think.

And then it's a red dwarf court. I'm like, oh, yeah, of course it is. It's an episode. What does it mean?

You're like, you've paid a lot of money for something. In fact, these are sparkles. To be fair, when I did see the Smek fridge, I did actually want one because of the red dwarf reference. That was only one.

You just want one so you can get the little magnetic letters and put head afterwards. Yes. Right. Okay.

So my mom and dad have a Smek fridge and it is red. They did offer it to me recently because they're doing their kitchen out and I said, oh, no, it's like I've got no room for it. The freezer size is like tiny. I am regretting that decision right now.

I'm going to put the podcast in front of your fridge. It would have been better than the mess right behind us now. Absolutely. Before we get into the boys from the dwarf, I need to ask the biggest question and I feel sort out of place because I didn't get to ask it yesterday.

No, he's doing what he's been watching. Oh, guys, we've been watching. How you doing? Nothing.

No, no, no, it's the hardest working man in show business. I all that it's so bad. I was telling you before we started about how everyone's like, oh, I can't wait to go out and do all this exciting stuff. I'm like, I can't wait to do nothing.

I've got so many films to catch up on. I still haven't seen everything everywhere all at once and I made some. You will absolutely love it. You will absolutely love Jamie Lee Curtis.

Curtis is character himself. And what is it? The 4K version of The Last Emperor has just come out and that has like a sort of four-hour version of it that I really want to watch. That's the minimum.

I haven't started The Mandalorian yet. Like literally the only thing that I've watched over the past six weeks that isn't bloody drag idle footage is all myself, which is even worse, is Picard, like Star Trek Picard. We know how much of it is in Star Trek. We've been doing that on the lovely Star Treking nerdy on the whole podcast with the Lightful Goodwill.

But yeah, so it's the anticipation of what I'm going to watch. I'm excited about it. Definitely. What have you been watching, sorry?

Oh my God, what have I not been watching? So we're back on the Brooklyn Nine-Nine. So we're on season two of the Brooklyn Nine-Nine and I'm just taking it. Usually I can just put something on the background and just leave it.

He's like making a stop. So something where is that? I'm also at Star Trek Midnight Club. Right, okay.

I've got two episodes of that left to watch. But I'm... Is that a Tokyo Vampire thing? No, it's Mike Vannegan, the guy behind Houghton of Hill House and Houghton of Life Manor.

I want to say it's child friendly, but it's really not because there's a lot of fucking swearing in it. But I'm getting attached to these people who I know there's no future for because there's no second series. Yeah, it's been cancelled. That's why I haven't started, I.

Yeah, because Mike's got a... Mike, because I know. Oh, Mike, yeah. He's now got his contract with Amazon.

So he's contract with Netflix has gone, so he's moved to Amazon. So he's not renewing it for a second season, which is such a shame because there's so much potential behind it. So I started that and I also started the cabinet of curiosity. Yeah.

Alright, yes. Oh my God. If you've listened to the podcast, you know, I love anthology horror. So this was right up my alley.

And we've watched three episodes so far. The second one, I wasn't... We went to the second one again. The rats.

Oh, I love the rat. I really liked it admittedly. It was a lovely anti... Well, actually the first two have a very anti-hero character.

Yeah. The rat mama. I was... I have to say though, I'm going to spoil it for you, Sammy.

It's one of these series where basically I was like, oh my God, this is absolutely amazing. The first four episodes. And then it goes crap. Like they literally put all of the dodgy stuff at the end.

Oh well. I've got to look forward to. It's not like an episode. What is it?

Like 60s, 70s thing. And I'm just like, this is the slowest thing. I think I've ever watched. Is that the one with Andrew Lincoln?

I'm not the one with Andrew Lincoln. Was that the episode with Andrew Lincoln? I think I've the last episode. Oh, I was looking forward Andrew Lincoln's.

Oh, I don't know. I don't know. The guys go to the rich guy's house and then they just all take drugs. And I was just like, oh, this is very difficult.

Like I find that a real short watch. And then it's got like a... It's a bit odd because it's got an adaptation of the Dreams in Witch House by Lovecraft. That is a really good story.

But it's one of those ones where no one ever adapts it properly. So it veers massively off the actual text. Oh, right. And it's kind of...

It's a good thing, but it just goes a bit like, this is a bit weird. Well, the last one we watched was with Mary Abraham in the autopsy. I have to stop and see it. Because I'll never see it properly.

And then I chamom-a-lam-a-lam. Why is M. Night chamom-a-lam-a-ding-dong in our house? Wow, we did that.

I'm not missing. No, no, no, no. Sorry. It's actually not just getting the best out in all.

I've said it worse. It's not always just... Whenever I think about it, I think of Timothy Chamom-a-lam-a-ding-dong. So, Timothy Chamom-a-lam-a-lam-a-lam-a-lam-a-lam-a-lam-a-lam-a-a-lam.

That's where it comes from. But no, with every Abraham, it was just absolutely fantastic. I'm so enjoying him at the moment. He was in Mythquest, and he plays this eccentric writer of a game, and he's just, oh, he's so brilliant.

And he was absolutely superb in this episode. I didn't want to end. No. I just want to stay here.

Yeah, I think... Not the problem I had with this show, it has a lot of highs and there's a lot of lows. There's no middle of the road. So, there's absolutely things I can't watch next time.

But wait, watch the episode. Then you watch the episode and goes, why did you follow this with that? There's no real flaw to it, if that makes sense. I mean, I like seeing them in as kind of vignettes where it's the idea of like just going, you could take one of these episodes and build a universe out of it, like build another show of it.

And I think that's a great little, you know, anthology thing. You can happily do a whole series like set in that kind of timeline or world where the raps episode happens or even the first one, like what are the consequences of the first episode and stuff and it's yeah, I just think it was brilliantly done. And I like him for some reason, Del Toro is really watchable, but he just comes out and he's like, this is my weird little box thing. Here's the day episode.

He's like, why does this need to happen? But I'm happy it does. The first thing I said when he saw him was, how blind is he? Because his glasses is so magnified that he was like, my god, is he that blind?

The horrors he's seen, Sammy. The horrors. But he is such, honestly, I could sit and listen out and talk for hours. I love his accent.

I just love him as a person. But what we also watched was Megan. Yes, the dancing robot. I fucking loved it.

I didn't say it was a horror film. I saw it more as a sci-fi film, but it still has some, obviously, some horror elements in there. I want a Megan doll. Very much so.

For some reason that doll doesn't freak me out. You know what he's got a guy. Oh, he's got a guy. He's got a guy.

He's got a guy. I see. Sorry, I just seen one of the best comments and you got us there, Beth. I'm going to admit you got us there.

Sorry. I mean, lots of good things. Don't. I'm sorry.

She tries to make me laugh. She's done it. But yeah, Megan really, really enjoyed it. But I was good, correct.

That was good fun. Oh, very good. I say, yeah, I watched a lot. I say, since next got back, I'm sorry if anyone watched the Friday night episode with a conversation, I realized we were just getting back from Australia.

So that episode got pretty short, quick. So I would have done exactly the same. I'd be like, right, hush. I'm going to go guys.

I've watched a lot over a short space time. I've caught up with a Mandalorian, not to give any spoilers for Graham, but I'm actually loving this episode. A lot of people have given it shit. There's some weird characters in it, but I've had good.

There's been great dog fight between starships and there's been battle scenes. It's given us everything I want out of Star Wars. I'm quite happy with the Mandalorian so far. I've been watching this week with Fanny Cordup with Great British Menu.

I'm obsessed with that show and some of the theme this year was animation, with it being Paddington Bears 60th or 70th birthday or something like that. So, I think Paddington. It's not even good for it though. It's supposed to be all the marvellous.

Am I just telling you? Oh, yes. I'm saying that. What if Paddington gets diabetes?

That's to make this happen. I was having a couple of special that were having like a permanent piggy standing over and I'm having this. It's all going to be over here. Let's just replace this stuff and hang on here.

Oh, this is starting to dark turn. I'm just saying though, I'm really looking forward to Paddington 3 because it's just like, if anyone in the chat, or anyone watching this hasn't watched Paddington 1 & 2 do it now, they are probably my favourite British films. They are ludicrously good. They are.

You know, this thing, we just like, this is actually comedy perfection. like it's so fucking funny like and the villains the villain has the cool kidmen in the first one yes one has Hugh Grant and he's absolutely hilarious I I'm wondering who the villain in the third one's going to be because it's like I'm trying to work out like with the gourdes bell I think it's gonna be sent perot this time I think I think that's what the room is it's supposed to be the third one's gonna be sent in perot um what kind of like it's a great like you mentioned Hugh Grant because can we just see a what like attorney's hard recently the things he's been in like when he was in the gentleman he was unmistakable um and that one way he was a bull in the gentleman and he was quite sinister in that American show he was like um like I don't know American accent as well but I'm not sure here now I know what you mean I saw I didn't watch it but I saw it on Google box so technically I did watch it um but yeah it the gentleman all that blew me away because that is just not him I just feel like he's making just good choices he's doing a Nicholas Cage and he's making really good choices I think it's definitely a very pending that book 1994 in the chat yes oh hi I'm getting some new news tonight and I saw a bunch of rutgers yes but um I did watch as well two movies on the weekend I'll tell top of the first one because it was the most batshit crazy piece of shit I've ever seen and in a good way corky and bear oh yeah it was good I wasn't good it wasn't good it was just editing that's the way of things there was nothing good about it the CGI was terrible but like the death scenes were absolutely hilarious but seeing a bear or you should all corky and then to the baby cubs as well was just like one of the weirdest things I've ever seen I asked up someone in their tracks yesterday when the asses about what corky and bear and I went yeah I like to see a good bear on crack and just watch me yes and I finally got round to watching it scream six and I was so pleasantly surprised with how well it was done until the scooby doo ending that was the only bad thing about it like I know the one masking is in part in part yeah but I love the new way that took the kills I love like the beginning how how different the beginning was I just thought like the took it to places where screen five should have went yeah but then we had like the overacting and I tried it out do stew but I did get the reference in it as well whether we could like say the stew still alive stew did nobody knows so a screen seven but that's two's going up I have been seeing it in screen five he's coming back I just didn't see which one he was coming back in he's coming back little heavy bets there yeah I was in five just as a hidden cameo was he gonna have cameo again not in this one no not in the sixth all right I got excited there was I went to see it on open it on the open a weekend by myself and I am that dumb I didn't see the end of coming I am really not that good at this by the way and you know the worst part of it is I was on me on and when the end it happened I'm like imitche going home and there's nobody there's an extra thing what surprised me is that when I was outside grab someone was sweet and just be like that and they're just like what are you talking about scourings eight but um no it was it was surprising as well you can tell where it's a good horror movie because we've seen it like on saturday and that's like what three four weeks after it was released yes and the pitches were still packed that's so cool so go out the cinema guys keep getting sidders alive keep them alive and we are when they're opening bit not it's not getting any spoilers away but there was a poster on a wall and it was last podcast on the left and I was like and I was I was I was texting I had nobody else to tell I actually it was very liberating going to the cinema on my own but it was very disheartening when I had nobody to like react to that's the reaction we need to get the nerdy up north horse to in a movie somehow so that's that's the goal now I lose my fucking mind so like hopefully it'll happen I think it'll be good why would actually just stand up and go excuse me but come on but here's a question for the both of you though like we're talking about what we've been watching lately when was the last time I've watched Red Wolf because I've kind of found that it's so ingrained in me that I just remember all of this stuff but then when you asked me to be on I was like I don't think I've watched it in like 15 actual years but then I still remember all of it I still cherish it but then it's like I haven't actually I watched one episode like last year because I was doing a drag routine and I made it like Red Wolf centric so it had all of these quotes in it and stuff where I had loads of quotes from female Holly it had loads of quotes from them uh or chicken and tea and stuff and that was it and I was just like oh god I've been still remembered this like it was yesterday but how about you guys I watch it once a year really like the whole thing well open to the point where I can stand yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah um I've watched the first five seasons in the last three weeks whoa we almost get themselves prepared just because as we have said there was bit I can remember but it was foggy because it's been a minute since I've seen Red Wolf um but will let Sammy get her disclaimer out that we are first oh yeah before we go before I start delving into the depths of the dwarf so yes the depths of the dwarf I've had my whiteboard right there right that's a tag line for this week's episode okay I'm deep in the dwarf I wonder who's grumpy deep in the dwarf sorry we're trying to be professional here let's go and I speak to the potato people I love it but it's the setup and the payoff of that joke where he's just like he does that he's just like what is it what's it he says I haven't seen this in 15 years but it's like he says it's like yeah he's like oh you know that calls for two hours of WOO with out oxygen that is your first thing that's our first punishment buddy well come on like say when so when did you remember I know I've got to go back and I'm trying to think of this because I don't think I saw as a kid the first two seasons of Red Dwarf I think my memory starts is around season three because I remember we speak on BBC two yeah as long as on BBC two but it was on like nine o'clock so and so when I was younger I wasn't allowed but bedtime was before nine o'clock so I couldn't watch it so yes yes and I had a very side-by mum so I've been watching this since I can remember I wonder what season can you remember starting from the first season was very great because just trying to think of the year it started because what was it and 19 was it 1988 I thought it was 86 but I could be wrong everything was like that 90s wasn't it like no no I think I think Wikipedia says 1980 so I'll go with that oh no I don't know why I'm at the six came to be head full I am I generally can't remember where I picked it up from I just remember it's always been there and it's been like it's been heard these isn't it yeah exactly it's just been that complete state like I would have had episodes like recorded on a VHS and but I do remember and I don't know if you guys can remember this but they actually had a full on it was one band holiday of a Red Dwarf weekend was an idea but it used to be on constantly on day all the time I had like five shows and they were like we better stretch these out of this yeah no it was it was um it was a BBC two thing and they did like ready study cook um they had all sorts that were just in they were having like backstage interviews like especially like they were collaborating it was always together like oh it was just absolutely fantastic and I was glued the whole weekend to the tally for that like my whole family was but I always remember that because nobody else kind of feel like I'm making it up in my head but it really no I remember it I remember it I remember it and I didn't actually remember until you mentioned it there it's it's crazy that they did that though like that it was such a sensation it was like you know it kind of felt like one of those like comic relief you know and comic relief was good um it's been a minute ago I know what I was like you know um no he's very much like that was amazing that level of involvement and it was such a lot sensation but I was the same as you although I started like season three and I didn't get to see seasons one and two until we had the one VHS because they raised them when they had a VHS that had like the end and it had three episodes and I had another one that had the other three episodes of season one and I'm pretty sure yeah and I was there and then we watched them on VHS not on TV kind of thing but and it's kind of weird doing it a bit backwards because I wonder if that influences it because I didn't ask you later who your favorite Holly was because obviously my favorite Holly is the female Holly because that's I think that's who I experienced first and I think that's I think they're probably funnier because like male Holly's like he's clever like it's dry but it's the idea of like it's not as dumb as female Holly oh yeah female Holly is it's like the downgrade it's so badly with female Holly but yeah the male Holly was like well one of the lines I had to dig out for the drag thing was literally one of my favorite lines in anything ever which is the just the throwaway bit at the beginning of an episode where it's just like oh you know like uh you know red alert red alert this you know this is not a drill this is a drill oh bugging how the sirens bust out oh okay it's just like you know oh that's on deck you're gonna just be out here like the Simon being broken that's something just a little bit more good oh we gotta remember that yeah but it was like that was the level of stupidity that female Holly did where it was like you know like we'd had with male Holly it was very much oh everyone's dead day but it was made sort of dry understanding of clever organizing I think yeah yeah but like we started season three because we already had the established rules and established like members of the crew because in season three uh Creighton was something amazing because I think it was introduced in season two from you remember so sorry if I remember right it was the end of season two and it's not the Creighton that you really don't want as Robert the well and it's someone completely different and he's the way that he looks is different and it's where yeah it's the it's the morphos blob thing that um because he does the whole gun coming all that it does he do the whole it's gone with the wind at the end yeah yeah and then he does um there's loads of movie references in that because he does the swivel on a punk because he rides off into the distance on his motorbike looking like James Dean the thing is all because so surreal when I watch it back now or when I watched it back like like the first season and second season I finally got ground to watch them because I think it was the same as you agree because it wasn't like where we had repeats or like sky now we could record or download like streaming you had either weird fruit be next on or um like by the the chess or hope one of your friends actually recorded it but when I went back and watched the first two seasons like it's amazing to see like the character development on all lisa doesn't really change much from the first season until the last season but like the development of the cat the cat at the start is one of the most hilarious characters and there is when he's just walking around the ship going wow you know way spraying everything because he owns everything but there's the way he spoke as well because it was all like broken english because he's never been around like humans or like that type of thing so it was kind of like like everything he said was said in phrases rather than um like cohesive sentences and he was like like an actual cat where his attention span only lasted for a few seconds and he was like off doing something else like I absolutely adored like say the character of the cat and the things and all later on we got like other characters like doing diblic and stuff with the cat and different personalities but I wish they kept that cat a little bit longer as well because that element just actually blew me away when i first watched it out funny he was like the evolution of the characters where basically the characters fall into roles like you know the idea of when they actually have an impetus because obviously season one and two are literally like here's the situation you are the only man left alive in the galaxy you know and there wasn't really a sort of overarching plot it was just episode after episode like and then obviously in season three isn't it red wolf gets knit or so you know is it or four or four or four is it four is it four is it four that's the fourth episode and we have it where like river becomes a navigator criety becomes whatever criety does uh you know a cat becomes the pilot you know and and they all kind of fall into these roles and cat very much gets domesticated no well but kind of becomes a lot more kind of serious because they have an actual thing to do but I guess that's maybe just because they've experienced more rather than living in the events or something yeah i think i think it's it's a it's a brilliantly of a short evolution to the character because he's he is the way he is because he's been on for how many how many years and with with Rimmer, you've got a pink, Rimmer would have potentially could have been there. And then he gets to me, Dave.

And he gets like that side of his personality from Dave. But I was laughing earlier and someone said it in the chat because the first thing I came and he had when you mentioned first season of the cast was close to the stupid. I'm close to the stupid. But the whole premise because that was the thing because you thought the cat was by himself as well.

But he had like a reverence there that was like, yeah, that was like the most bizarre thing when then listen goes to find him and he's like down in one of the like air ducts and then create a home and you find out there was the war of the cats, the ones I believed in cloister and the ones that didn't and they went off in the world one got hit by an earring to the other one but another made right because they didn't know how to navigate apparently and they were just left behind and it was like I think I burnt my hat and then put this hat back on and clip the cloister was just like that's me I'm the hero. But it's just so bizarre like say the premise of it like. I think it's a wonderful thing. I think the universe that they created is really strange because it's like you know how with everything nowadays you end up with like a role playing game or something it seems to be everything like it's like what am I fantasy has a role playing game like sort of you know magic the gathering was probably going to be a role playing game for that or like Buffy does a role playing game for that you know it's all of these things and then it's like and it's say something about the universe that you can kind of do that with it and Red Dwarf's very much something where you're like whoa we have all of these different races they can have like is it the Gell Flings is a Gell.

Oh yes I can't remember the name. I think all gell sorry correct me in the chat I'm wrong but you know but like that you know the have all these different races they have things that are holy moly they have things like Legion and stuff. I've just watched that was the most bizarre thing I've seen in a long time where but like all of these different aspects of this universe and like things like you know like the backwards universe and stuff you can happily you can get how much world building there is over this stupid comedy show because I think the appeal of Red Dwarf is that it's never about the scenario as much as it's about the characters being there like you know the idea like there's never a different backwards but the comedy still comes from Rimmer being Rimmer being you know quite and being quite and I think there's something wonderful about that and I think a lot of shows nowadays are based upon oh but here's the situation and the situation is what the episode is apparently it's like just a rumor in a fucking supermarket there we go it's still somehow the hilarious but you can put all four of them just in one room which has happened as a full episode where there's just Lister and Rimmer in a storage room it's the big thing with the hugging guitar and the it's the pitch of the fourth speech now something something something something I love that fucking lie. But the thing will be the premise of Lexi the sure why it works so much it didn't try and break them all they didn't try and change it was a very simple premise to complete opposites stuck by themselves to annoy each other the way it was very much like see the world of Matthew and I think that's probably all men typing to these complete polar opposites of people and personalities and see them bounce off each other but to be fair I think where Red Dwarf got it right but more than most people ever do is the custom yeah I don't think anyone else could have played the part of characters as well and as we found out later on in the show when Chris Barry for the Connections left to do other things how much the shore missed him and missed out at the element and not saying when can Chatsky come in it was bad it wasn't but well to be found the problem is I felt really sorry for her because I really like Kaczynski I really like that actress I think she worked well but the show is just awful like it was that you know that thing of just going like and I don't think it was her I think it was just literally the idea couldn't we have had the show with the four of them and Kaczynski as well and I think that would have been great but then because it was like oh she's there at the expense of someone else and the city kind of broke it was a bit like oh sorry I'm laughing my tits off at the chat like it's a bit more than the more than the other ones than family and that's me and yeah I do agree with the whole Kaczynski thing if they had the four of them and her but I really I think my not hatred it's definitely done here this was my disliking for their series is the fact that it's not Kaczynski Kaczynski Kaczynski was Kaczynski and that's who I was like oh no that's not her no but it's Kaczynski Did they explain that was Kaczynski from an alternative universe type thing as well so that's what they can do in space can't they multi-virus?

gave Red Wall if you went like hey here's a million pounds to make a Red Dwarf episode I would keep all of the costumes shit as possible I'd have all of the things is just like you know plastic models Like you don't have a whole setup thing. I don't think people have the attention span to do, you know, like, I don't know, it's all because red is punchy. Yeah. Just to give a bit of a plug because I taught my best type of comedy, I expected these sketch shows, like the flash or Harry Enfield, like it is a bit of a dying breed.

But one of my actual friends in the North East, he did a film a few years ago and got something funny. He's been doing like a sketch show and it's on YouTube. There's about three seasons out of it. It's some of like five, 10 minute episodes, but they've been doing a live performance as well.

So he's been doing the club circuits. It's called Mero Land. It's called Mero County. Like, he was the one who got his tickets for the thing in Newcastle where Greg Davis and stuff was doing the thing.

So he helped us get in there, but checking out on YouTube, it's called Mero Land. It's very much in the CM Vians as like, say, as the festival and stuff. Oh, I'll give it a watch. I'm going to be up.

He's walking around with a like a Tory politician and this is the North East and showing around like just taking the first type thing or having like where doorbell, you know the doorbell alarms where it's video now where ex girlfriend, ex girlfriend comes back and bring the balance in or tell us your lovers and all that shade. Can you please go here? But it's like probably Northern you. I've been near more Metro Land comedy like come on.

You can't get any more Northern than that. Can we just take back? I know we're talking about Red Wall, but the fact that like that is the greatest travesty ever that someone just went, I think we need another debonums. We don't need Metro Land.

You know, like, I'll tell us about it. Oh, that was because Metro Land like, oh, I'm going to confess this. I'm going to absolve me in the Buddhist kind of way of shedding my own. Jacob's ladder shedding of my mortal worries and whatnot spoilers.

Um, but I need to watch that again. That's another film I need to watch while I'm doing things, not to remake though. No, but Metro Land like it was, I remember dragging my poor uncle from Gospel to the Metro Center because I wanted to get like something from Metro Land. And it was literally like about a sort of hour and 10 minute journey or something on buses and stuff.

And he did it for me and it's like a home. Oh my God. I love my family and stuff. But it was this idea was just being like, that's a kind of privilege to not bringing that you to have someone who would do that for you.

Yeah. Yeah. I know it was amazing. I love it.

Can you remember the clock tower in Neverland with all the next? Me parents used to leave us there. They used to go shopping and I used to just hang it out in the next old year. I felt like I was just about half an hour.

It just felt like the best half of my life. So if we, any listeners outside of the world of England Metro Land. So we have a big massive, what you would call a shopping mall in the middle of Gaze Age, slash Newcastle and Gaze Age. And in the middle of it, and in the middle of the shop mall was a huge massive amusement park.

To be fair, it was a big amount of paradise. Oh my God. I'm 100% it was, but it was kids. The most kind of monster of life living in a pito paradise.

That's where they went. Oh, God. Is that the Metro Nomes when they were Metro Nomes? Oh my God.

I think I had a friend who was Metro Nomes. Yeah, Jen. Jen. Yes.

Is that right? Yeah. Moving on. But yes, Metro Land was a giant amusement park that had a sock coaster.

It had a roller coaster. It had a swing. It had a little wrong. I remember my teen years going and had what's the spinny things?

Peacups. No, it's like Walter. Walter. Walter.

That's kind of hard to describe to someone who's outside of the UK. What was it? The bad part is T-party Disneyland, but a lot of fucking faster. Yeah.

Yeah. And some of the fuck were the back of your spinning, yeah. Which was the bad part? Yeah.

You're making a big plan. We are the children of the fact fighting for. But anyway, other amazing things that we remember from our childhood, along with Red Wolf. Yeah.

Look at him. Look at him. Oh, segway. But it is that thing of the joy of nostalgia and these things that are formulated things.

And Red Wolf is very much that for me. It's this idea of being a child and bonding with my brother. Like really, we used to watch it. We used to like quote it to each other and stuff like that.

And it's really spooky. And I think there's a part of me that's scared to go and watch it back. And then when I did for the drag routines like last year, I was just like, oh fuck, I forgot how funny this is. Like literally that.

What is it, the episode where female Holly gets like boosted, but then it goes weird. Like they make a. Like he was supposed to order 16,000. Just like all slick back in every.

Yeah, I loved it. The religion of that. And then like, and then obviously the conversation with the toaster. Like, you know, they bring some toaster back.

The latest seasons. They, they, they didn't have any jokes. They just went weird. They just went here's a reference.

It was like the Simpsons is, you know, where the Simpsons is like, Hey, we've forgotten how to do human now, but we're here's some references and here's some guests and stuff. Yeah. Stuff you remember. Oh, it's Dwayne Dibley again.

Oh, it's quite a toaster again. That doesn't work. Whereas Red will be kind of chucking them in occasionally and they complimented everything. Yeah.

This is the episode is coming back. I've not actually seen the most recent ones, like, you know, the ones that did really not that long ago. Once I came back from like one day of specials and stuff. Yeah, I've not watched them ones and purely because I was, I was worried.

I'm not going to lie. I was a bit worried that it didn't, I didn't think it was ever going to ruin it. It's not going to ruin it. It's not going to ruin it for us, but I was just worried it wasn't going to be as good.

First one was very heavily influenced by believe when I like the first season at the board. Yeah. Yeah. I remember that, you know, the two films they made.

Was it back to earth? Back to earth. It was like a special typing. Yeah.

It was like two films, wasn't it? Like two, two parts special. They're not really going to film. It was just like a long special.

Yeah. That was genuinely awful. I will say. I remember just being like, there's no jokes in this.

There was one bit, I think, where Rimmer refers to a blip on the map as being bigger than God or something. Oh, there's a blip on my scanner that's bigger than God and I giggled at that. I think that was it. Wow.

The last ones was the continue continue. I can't see it now. The continuity. Continuity.

That's the one I was looking for. Because basically when Red Dwarf got rebuilt by the nanobots, it brought back the whole crew and brought back Rimmer as human. Yeah. Then went all back to earth.

All of a sudden, Rimmer was all again. Yeah. That was kind of like what was happening. And all the parties experiencing multiverse bitch, but there was just like not like a floor where like the early seasons that time jumps.

I think from season three to season four, list of weeks up. He's got like a big hair, big beard, a spacey beard in states for 200 years. And like, he's been wide enough. He's been wide enough.

He's up. And then he's been in more rest and tried to see him. So then there's been all Red Dwarf. So it's got that continuity.

I'm like that movement forward where they were just like, right, we've got the rights to Red Dwarf. We're going to make a new Red Dwarf walk to a do. Oh, how was Red Dwarf funny? Well, bring these elements to it.

This is when it was funny. And it's kind of like, no, the reason why it was funny was the jokes, the writing and the characters. It didn't have to bring those. But I know when you mentioned the start, I just wanted to touch and I'm jumping all over the place.

Sorry. I think that's what it's doing. It's doing isn't it. It's just about the future.

All over the place. The characters I loved as well was the tour started to start. But the skulls, the skull box had to want to hold personalities in the first couple of seasons. And then you didn't get that in the late episodes as well.

I just loved it. Obviously, women not being able to, like, not being able to touch anything. Yeah, it has to use them. The scutters kind of became his henchmen.

And he just like, random things where, you know, like at the beginning of an episode, he'd be doing something. Scutters would be doing something. He's just like, what is this? Like, he didn't paint in the wall.

What color is that? Battleship Grey. What color was it? Battleship Grey.

That's the one where you get two rumours. That episode is fucking fantastic. Like, more Chris Barry the better. Like, just having the two of them was just great.

When there was cinema had me just pissing themselves. I was going in front of each other and like, just acting like an asshole just to piss each other off. That was Chris Barry being, I think, at least best. And the best thing that Chris Barry ever done on screen was when he shouted.
