So we are a little bit tired, but as Sami set a very, very high bar last night and I don't think I'm gonna match it, but I want to try and just to give a bit of information and welcome our beautiful like members of the Nelly Up North team with us this evening. Last time he was actually on a stream, he was getting wrong off his nearbours for being too loud in that apartment as well. So we have to remember to keep the volume down tonight as well. I mean, I'm going to be going to like two o'clock in the morning because I'm sure that was the time. Yeah, it was.
It was a 24 hour stream, wasn't it? It was super charity. It was the Quiplash games that I think did it in. And I hope to bring a lot less to private tonight.

So sorry. Take it away. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. The biggest question of all, you know, is more importantly than talking about this goddamn movie is how you still really want your spin watching.
I'm good. And I've been watching all of the evil dead films this week to get my Bruce Campbell knowledge back up on top. But you know what else I watched? Yeah.
The film I've wanted to watch for a long time because it's heralded as such a good horror film. And I had to get a shoot of account to watch evil dead. It was a seven day free trial. I was like, right, I've got to shoot a what else can I watch?
And there's a film on there. I don't know if you've seen it or heard of it called Hell House LLC. Everyone's talking about it. Everyone's talking about it.
It's so good. So it's basically the premises. There's group of people. There's four of them.
There might be five. But they go to a haunted house every year in a different state in America and they set it up as a haunted house for Halloween. So they set up cameras and then they take people's money, etc. But this particular house they go to is an old hotel that shut down because a lot of people were murdered there.
And the horror in it is all done from the perspective of like the security cameras and stuff. It's so good. Kind of. Yeah.
Yeah. It's with the characters. I find them found footage films nine times out of 10. You just don't care about the characters, but in this, they're so well acted.
And it's such a low budget film for how good the acting is that it feels real. Right. Yeah. And the horror.
Oh my god. Like there's they have like these big clown dolls and there's moments where people just wake up in the middle of the night and they come downstairs and the clowns just standing in the hallway and not moving. Oh no. It's so good.
It's so good. Dan who runs this machine put a poster about it and I was like, oh, intriguing. And my husband this week went and bought a 75 inch television. I got a fucking big in it.
That's what I'm saying. Really big fucking. I really wish I was showing off. I'm not.
It is fucking huge. It's class, but it's very much stands out. And I'm really. What's a big TV porn on it.
That's what you're doing. It's there. Haven't already. I do want to watch it.
I think it'll be class watching on the big telly as well. So the question I'm going to ask with you. How do you watch the monsters up north on it yet? But you.

But it is weird when you walk into a room and it's like, oh, shit. There I am. Ultra HD don't do shit for my skin. You're beautiful.
Don't worry. Um, Joe, what you've been watching big fella? Well, okay. So on I also bought new TV this week.
And I while it was setting up and downloading updates went on Instagram and saw that Sammy had a new TV and then looked at mine and went, oh, I'm sorry. I just tried to down it down. Oh, and Rob's after a 75 inch telly. And as well as when the box came, I sent her a picture of it and went, does he?
Does he really want this? Oh, when I lived in Gates, I had a 50 inch one and like I'd got delivered to work and I couldn't fit in any car to take it home. I was like, what have I done? That was like, what have we done?
So I was replacing my grandmother's TV because I live in my grandmother's apartment here in Spain. And Sony might be able to elude that there was a VHS here, a very special VHS that we had in the apartment that we watched religiously every summer to the point where the episodes lost all meaning. And it's just words now when we could recite the episodes by heart. And that was three episodes from season two of Father Ted.
Right. And so when I got the new TV and everything was plugged in, I was like, I'm going to watch one of those episodes of Father Ted. So I watched, I watched that. That feels right.
I was like, what's one of your home videos? A song for Europe where there's a way of a wee horse. Yeah. Like, it's not like it's not comedy anymore.
Like, you know, you just hear something over and over and over again. You're like, what does it even mean? It's just become life. It's just become what?
Yeah. No, we have one. Oh, every summer. I got a Disney Plus subscription so I've been catching up on The Simpsons and I can now once again say that I've seen every episode of The Simpsons that's ever been entered.
And I finally finished watching season two of Welcome to Rexxham. I have a watch shop. Now I can get to the first season. Honestly, I love it.
I just think it's such a beautiful documentary, just not just for like the football. I could give it, like, take a leave the football goes with you. Started watching it just for the like the weirdness of it's Rob McLenny and Ryan Reynolds on in the football club. But it's just beautiful.
I love the story about the town and the people in it and the way the first season affected the town and the tourism they get now. I just I love it. It's just part of it's just heartbreaking and I just yeah. No, I love the reactions.
I love the reactions because you think all the money, like sort of like, really probably got a TV, Ryan owns a movie, millions. He needs a movie, millions. But when they talk about spending money out, like, you can tell it's not just like it affects them. That's the thing.
It's like, oh, the pictures needs to be re-layered. This is going to cost you another 100,000. You think, all right, let's pull out the back pocket. But it's actually the stock on foot.
This is going to start causing those problems. It's like, it's acting right in Tragan. It makes me try and know it's a little bit more human as well, which I didn't think would be possible. I do like him, but he's one of these people where now he's that famous.
He's all right. I don't think he would have like a human personality now because he's probably been an ameliorate or PR trained. But he's still got that human edge and he interacts with the players and make the fans. On a human level where it's not just like, ah, hi, I'm Ryan Reynolds.
It's like, like, it's like talking to you in the book. It's really nice to see. And again, someone you don't expect to run because you do hear stuff. Like, I know, like, allegedly, I'll say the word first.
Sure, and then Bill Tills, Philman, he was a diva and got the director sucked and caused so many different rewrites for Deadpool. That's why Deadpool 2, that's the other mess at times. But just a whole bit there. But yes, sorry.
I enjoyed the show. I do want to finish it. Anything from Rob McLaney, I will support that man to the day I die. There is an episode where he invites the entire cast of all, we're suddenly coming to watch a match.
And it is so beautiful. Like Charlie Day just cries. And it's like, I messaged on her and I was like, Charlie, this is crap. What am I doing?
Why is he so cute? I just want to hold him. I'm just true though. And the fact that I know this is probably just being self-indulgent as well.
I love the fact that the idea to do this one to buy rexom was because of the Netflix show. Yeah, the Sun and one. Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
So we inspired that story. But that you mentioned, for being something, and I don't mean that in a bad way. It's just we're a very small area, a small team. Like, it's got a really good reception.
What season three is what's it coming soon? So we'll see. Excellent. I have wanted to watch that, but I haven't got around yet because I've kind of lived it.

I always have to try and go full circle with the story because that was the original episode one story. So I'd have to give you closure. But no, I don't have to open up. I don't, it's not like real life people pop off.

Um, so I love these shows out on Netflix that's got, um, like the Korean but the dubbed, um, it's called the devil's plan where it's basically just like, um, like a squid, like a squid game. Yes, but they don't die where they've got these really like smart Koreans over and putting these amazing quizzes and stuff on. But the show would be absolutely shit. But it's the dubbed over, like, what the thing the same or the same something.
It's not quite like in the conversation. It's like, I don't quite get on with you. We're not compatible. So then they're both often different directions and it's just like, don't give a fork.
What's happening on the shore or what's happening? Like who wins or who loses? I just want to watch it for the really awkward and weird voice lovers. It's just hilarious.
Yes. So that's what I've been watching. You, you have to show it has, it's all dubbed. And at some points it looks like the actor's mouth isn't actually moving when there's dialogue being said.

There was a fair few to pick from. But that was that was my favorite. Definitely. The advertising campaign for this movie was off the chain.
Like Greg still remember it. I think it was on the same trailers or advertising around the taxi and time. More rats came out. And so the VHS release and that was the two films that was always advertised.
And when you used the render movie and used to get video to it. So they used to have trailers before the movie. Yeah. Army of darkness.
No worlds. Just to be. Yes, in all worlds. Where does the man lost his hands?
Yes. And this was one of the ones I think. And I just remember watching the evil dead movie when I was very young. And again, like all these movies we shouldn't be watching these movies when we're very young.
And then saying this and saying, oh, what's this about? Because it because army of darkness, it doesn't say that as an evil dead movie. Oh, you know what? It's not ashy.
So it's kind of like that's only thing you can make the comparison of. But just before we start again, doing getting all excited. Because I am not excited to talk about this movie as well. Because all these podcasters we've been talking to, all these different people that's being getting involved, everyone's so professional these days.
And so I've had to take notes because everyone's telling us these days. You've got to do notes to be a podcaster. So I'll give it a try. So and Sun is like, yeah.

fucked up because on one of the rules he was supposed to be all brave but he acted like a coward so he's like we can't do the next scene because you were being a pussy in the same before and it's not gonna make sense so that's where you get the same way he's got the really stupid hair and he's got you have my steel that was like a kind of like an add-on and my axe yes yes yes yes yes do you want controversy with controversy with this movie and especially the release it was it's if you look on Wikipedia it tells you it was released in 92 it was actually released in 93 and because it was given to a film festival originally and then Universal came in and went hmm we don't like this we don't fucking change this so Universal Studios came in and changed so much including obviously the ending which I did probably talk about later on and so yeah Bruce Campbell fucking hits Universal Studios for that we're gonna complete an entire year of his life he's like we couldn't do anything else who's to say wasn't gonna get brought in for other reshoots or anything like that he literally lost a year's wage because of that of them in the feeling and the actual title for this movie which I only realized is in the open and sequence it's not army of darkness it's Bruce Campbell versus army of darkness that's the actual official title but again Universal Studios went to book and on yeah so Sam Raimi went I'm still fucking putting it in hence the reason why you see Bruce Campbell versus army of darkness when the original when the titles come up in the hall put the smoke it's still in there our jump on was fucking hilarious it's also a homage the Bruce Campbell versus army of darkness is a homage to Abbott and Costello there's so many different homages in this movie yeah so many and I'm just gonna leave that and probably knock some in as we talk about the film I've got two more facts for you like well one's just well it's not a fact it's just a story for us I'll tell you the budget was only 11 million yes which is a social for that I'm sorry I know the actual mea got the mead in this movie effects it's fucking out there for like and the stuff that I do and the story that Bruce Campbell told as well about actress M Beth Deavis as Sheila the Miss honey the producers one of the producers didn't want her because she didn't have big enough boobs so they had to fight to have her because it was an Italian producer and he liked these women but the year and said she needs to be a busy but Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell demanded her because as soon as she read for the part like she said they made the words about the rote by 15 times better than what they could ever do so she was the only actress that they ever wanted to play the part but yes that actually fights the studio to keep her because they wanted someone with big boobs apparently and she went on to do the show and there's this after the after this movie Wow yeah she proved she can do it yeah absolutely and there was also just a controversy with the whole release because it's so much about it and the producer Dina Lauren Lauren Tiles and so Universal Studios weren't willing to pay for the three million additional to finish the movie and you know what the hell it is leverage against the producer to see if we have this if you don't give us this it was the character Hannibal Lecter really oh yeah because it's it's Dina Lauren Tiles is original not original but it was something to do with him and was it did they were using the film as leverage in conflict with the producer over the rights of the character of Hannibal Lecter oh interesting I know the only that let let let Rami do this movie after Dark Man did well and so thought oh you can handle something with a budget now so busy and well see a budget but 11 million still like what that's independent money these days for like yeah I don't have it sitting in me back so I'm getting into the movie as well like because this because it's interesting said as you said with the studio getting involved like one thing I did notice when I was watching the movie it does feel disjointed at times where you feel like I'm watching a different movie to one I've been watching previously it's still entertaining as hell like I wouldn't ever class this is like top tier like Shakespeare perfect movie oh boy it is fucking fun that was probably the best description I could it like it's a fun like you can't help but be in a team even though my wife hears this movie she cannot stand shaking shit but she likes all the nasty horrors and stuff and this isn't really nasty but that was one of the questions I was gonna ask is after watching the movie do you consider this an actual horror movie no it's a full-on fucking classic comedy adventure fantasy comedy yeah it's got dark elements but it's not but me I don't even I would argue to maybe not even a horror like once the only real yeah horror horror yeah two hilarious you can't come away with that without it being belly laughing at it should we just all about that search on my notes sorry so I'm gonna keep doing that well you just hide them and it's gonna come second the because it's interesting you see about two because when you read it like go and see the documentaries or like see the behind the scenes stuff they never considered the evil dead two as a sequel well what Sam Raimi never wanted to be a sequel he always considered it as a remake of the evil dead yeah so this is sense yeah so this is a third film in the trilogy but in theory this should this is actually the sequel this is actually the evil dead two would have been if Sam Raimi got his way away didn't the student in this plus one evil dead two on this yeah that makes sense like when I was watching them with Coxy this week when we watched the second one he told me that the second one was the first one he'd ever seen and watching the first one with me was like hang on the second one makes no sense because why would you go back to the same cabin then all these things are like it makes sense as a standalone and army darkness is prefaced into because she opens the book and ashes in the book as the guy who welcomed the sky so like it's all set up as a sequel where it's in the first film it's it is standalone I was never confused by that transition between the first and the second I mean granted I only watched them like last week so my understanding is a little bit I know I'm not like how studios can function and how movies change but I was like oh this is a really captain I was like those are different actors yeah and there was probably something that went on that said no you're not allowed to use you know it's a I what was his name back to future Chris and Glover yes you're not allowed to use my image in these in the shit yeah and then it did like there's three iterations of Ash's girlfriend in these movies and I started every single one of them I was like what's going on actually perps you have to make the second one they didn't want to get the same actress back for the third one of Playlander so again the was in a gosh shit he danced when I saw it I was like holy shit apparently there was more stuff filmed with her where Ash was letrono and stuff that was caught out the movie but apparently again she was a big fan of the evil dead movie so when she heard that she was making the navel then film she actually again brought to some and said can I just be in the film even if it's a cameo and he thought it would be funny to cast or as Linda just so that very indication of Linda is a different person but I found out that hilarious I mean like it's like it's quite matter as well because I feel like Ash is the kind of person to get with many lenders like we're doing it from like Ash's like Ash's point of view maybe Linda's just like changed image in his head throughout time as well it's not each one was just something different I did not but like in the timeline of his life when he jumped a little bit when he gets with Sheila I was like did in his girlfriend die and he's a litter corpse two days ago like in his life that's how long it's unless that scene of walking through the desert that went on for days days and I was like he chopped up his girlfriend yesterday and he's already like moving on give me some sugar that was it give me some sugar I actually brought some and some of the lines as it went on as yeah and just so I didn't forget them but what got me is the open and seen when he's walking through the desert and he goes I have a slave and I'm like do you've been there for two seconds like no you're not he's not even like they're just taking the prisoner to go and execute and I'm like you're gonna slave by me never fucking centuries and they're like do you feel like five minutes calm down I'm here for like ashes and drama cream yes one of those like one of the things I know like when I was watching I was getting it's all it's meant to be this way he's like the anti-hero but he just isn't a hero material there's nothing here about me he is like so he's like sexist these he's a pig he loves himself when he's got no right to love himself and like in these movies as well but one of the things I did write down and I didn't think his laugh is good Bruce Campbell is strangely attractive in this movie yeah yeah he's got the American chin I'm really just as Bruce Campbell's chin mine says Bruce Campbell's hair yes really good hair the first the first quarter of a line had me decked I had the literary pause the film well hello Mr.
Benetence I decked on the fucking floor I forgot I used to watch this all the time and Evil Dead 2 is one of my favorite movies of all time like I really do I do hold that in high regard and I always I think because my dad who doesn't do horror at all he bought me it from music zone and I was like I used to work there oh wow you said somebody's dad we all have a point right hey guess it and well that's my dad and so yeah if my dad bought is it on TV it was like one of those moments like he gets me yeah I really held that I hold that movie in to high regard and an army of darkness obviously I just think it comes hand in hand you can't have two without army of darkness yeah and I put quite a great way to hand upon there as well I just forgot I just forgot how good the courts were and we hadn't even gotten into the film and hello Mr. Fancy comes up but there's one of the way I'll get out the way with is you went leading was that you went leading shit for two things right now Jack and shit and Jack just left out just that was that was my voicemail for years with his sound come to the front right now you ain't leading shit but two things Jack and your Jack and shit oh my god I'm ruining it and then yeah we can't cut this out so it's fine fix it and it will fix it and it will fix it and it will fix it right she said it right yeah that was my voicemail for so many years was that like yeah because I told torn of this movie is completely different to like the two lucky and before like not as much as a change from two but from like say the original ever dead like everything that conch I said even like the film fails completely different like proper lighter tones and but as you mentioned before about the homages and the references the first one the first big one that we happening like you're not gonna get it's kind of thing it's like you're down for the ride and you're down the North like this is gonna be one of the most wondrous and weirdest adventures you'll ever beginning when Ash is explaining everything and explaining the book I did like how the book I do like that open and sequence there is something really fantasy about it yeah and the the book opening and seeing all the pages and everything and I'm like yeah that is so fucking cool because like we've seen bits of it like we've seen it in one and two but not like later like here's the book yeah yeah it's an orphan everything yes you know what that's what I actually really really loved about the the new evil dead rise like I love seeing the different months was on the different pages like I want to see inside this book I want to know what in there like yes it's a book of the dead but what does that mean what what's in there so I loved any sections where someone opens it up and it's it's good even like just based on that alone you're like I need to know more about this person like it's one of those things you know when you see characters like in movies when you think I like that person's face I'm picturing with luscious hair yes yeah well Bruce and Sam have such a still to this day I have such a connection with the evil dead movies evil dead rise the pair of them both went to the premiere of it and a heckler was in the audience because we're doing a Q&A and a heckler was in the audience going this fellas fucking shit and Bruce Campbell stood up and went get the fuck out there literally got out of his show and get the fuck out what the fuck you doing here like marched him out of the building like he still he was just have a bit part in evil dead rise but yeah he doesn't even voice of the priest yeah on the record yes I had no idea what can be done yeah I was like oh he was always gonna be a part of it somehow yeah but yeah he's still hoarding like this is these are his babies yeah he still holds it in such a regard I love it I was gonna say there's an episode totally totally like kind of separate because there was an episode of impractical jokers right yes and I can't remember which joker it is I think it's Sal absolutely loves the evil dead like he loves it and his punishment is they put him in the cabin with Bruce Campbell as a director and he has to do all these scenes by the frankwin and he has to put his face down in the puddle and he's like longer longer it's brianquin because Sal's not a horror fan that was the joke that was a really joke was Sal cuz he doesn't do horror can you remember the VR on him and he didn't know when he opened his eyes and he was in like a VR simulator with a little girl and everything it was fucking hilarious is brianquin who's the hero fan yeah yeah yeah yeah I love that going back to like the movie where we were talking about this is what as I said this is where the practical effects of the movie property in you see like the morph the talk by the tip of Bruce's chin where the kind of stretched out and the big guy was so impressed with the makeup and practical effects of this I had to go and look to the guy who did it he's a guy called Tom Sullivan he's done all of the makeup on reme's evil dead and he is the creator of the boog of the dead and now my con is he's designed as well and just to just to give one more credit to him because it's the only thing that it was mentioned on Wikipedia he did the fly too I read that a piece of Bruce Campbell's outfit actually cut his face when he was doing a fight scene and he got rushed to the hospital because it was quite a significant cut when he got to when he got the hospital he was covered in like the visual effects like cuts and the doctor was like what's the cut? What's the cut? What's the cut? What happened to your face?
For a film as of its time I think there was two special effects companies that worked on the movie there was ones that did that focused on the deadites and then there wasn't a separate one that worked on evil ash separately. Not a thing to say. When the special effects and make the makeup kicks in like as Jor said in that windmill that was some of the best scenes in the movie like that interaction I fucking loved little ash. That was just hilarious and I poke him in the bum with the bark it's so good.
It reminds me of it is you know what it reminds us of and it's what I don't know if this is just me over exaggerating this movie in my head. Time Bandits. I don't know. Time Bandits is so over exaggerated in my head because I have this thing that it scared us.
So there were time bandits. It's why she's scared of Chris. That's why. When I think like in Baron Munch House it reminds us so much of them but it makes total sense because the whole thing itself and the skeletons is all a tribute to Harry Housen.
So it makes sense once I knew that. I was like oh totally get where this is like coming from because they're all homages to the same thing. Oh no but this is when the movie as he said kind of goes back to the horror roots and takes it goes away from the fantasy and all those fantasy elements but this is where the go a bit crazy with the horror because I get the body horror with the eye on the shoulder which did freak me out. I actually did like scare me as a child and like the smashing of the mirror then all the lashes jumping out with the mirror stabbing them with the weird fork then again ash becoming the best darts player in the world with the fork which is yeah.
I can say it with the one shot and then for some reason and again this is where this movie just works so well because it wouldn't work in any other movie you would be like now I'm now turning off to kill one of the mini ashes he fucking drinks foiling and doesn't have any burn marks at all. Just as well after burning his face on the stove he'll probably be very stuck and he needs to shovel it off and then he gets up and he has a cut. I was like he's got like a small red circle. He's not gonna hurt the fears.
You know what I actually on that scene I actually laughed because have you ever burnt yourself before? Yeah he doesn't show up until the next day it's just quite red and I was like you know what realistically he wouldn't have a big like weird market. We'd wait a couple hours to so I just want that down to be realistic. There's so much physical comedy in with with just one person.
Yeah he's so impressive that he's only acting himself. He's not trying to anyone else. He's not trying to anyone else. He's sitting too and it's like him being like shocked ash and him being evil ash and the duality feels so like organic.
It doesn't feel put on it feels like two people. Yeah it's so good. I think that's where Bruce Campbell's like I know he's had a career career like I'm not doing him down doing in disservice but I don't think he gets the credit that he probably could have got if he did any other type of movies because his performances in these moves like going back to the first one. It is generally terror like say it is like scary.
Then when he called it this he calls to the extremes where he's just he must be having fun. I know like in the interview he gives like some really tortured him and like Ted even said some love to push and do things like over and over just to see like what reactions he could get from Bruce. Just to say when Bruce would tap out and say no I've had enough but um like that physical comedy style is up there with the grits. I would even say like it's got to Steve Martin at times.
I know we talked about Steve Martin last night but that's the kind of humour I kind of get from him because it's like body humour. He uses these facial expressions like not many people can. Yeah he's got such a rubber face in like the nicest way possible. He can make his face do what everyone's doing.

And then you see him getting tacked by the three soldiers bones. Where they do all the tricks and they caught him in the eyes and he's doing all the face qualities shaking his nose and giving him like a the fish or the one thing that does make me bomb and I get made as gargling when I watch it the other day is when the skeleton hand goes into his mouth and it's like proper deep throat and like this like gross candle doesn't have a gag reflex just yet. My my note at this section what like when he falls down and it's not like three stooges zinging him hit him. I don't know what I was like I can't believe this is the same franchise as the film with the tree ray.
And then the skeleton arm went down he's throwing I was like no I never get that. Yeah. Because there's an officer who's in Sam Rene will try and put something in it but yeah. He goes too far with the body horror.

That was selfish. And then he become like, then he has a change of heart because all our anti heroes or people who go on the journey needs that change. And we have like a montage of weirdness.
Like, because all of a sudden, for some reason, Ash in his boat of his car has a chemistry book. Yeah. The books are so funny. The books are so fucking good.
Like they're just so specific to what he needs right at that point. And an engineering book as well. Yeah. Same engineer.
Not just not just engineering, it's steam engineering. So Ash has got some fucking weird hobbies or he's trying to impress Linda in weirds that we're not going to comprehend. Yeah. I'll show her my steam book.
Maybe she'll love it. So not only does that, he shows these people how to make Black Powder Exposings great. Manufacturers different things to we as that. Like it would take 15 million years to actually do what you did have the equipment.

If you want to become such a badass, Ash does. But with any type of action or horror movies, like always got these type of things, but it's always a really montage. Yeah. Like the kind of thing.
It's just so funny. It's like if they don't even try and be subtle with it though as well, it's kind of like we're going to put it right up there. And they don't even try and answer the questions. Like, oh, I've got this book because I'm doing a chemistry lesson or I'm training.

Well, it's part of the comedy, isn't it? It's meant to be silly. I feel like in a way it's almost like, because there's so many homages, but there's also a lot of like pointing out of how silly scenes like that are in these types of where like someone has exactly what they need in the boot of their car. Isn't he like an idiot? Isn't he a moron? Why is he this self-aware? Obviously it's in his moment of like, I didn't even pick up on that because I couldn't get away from the fact he was trying to sell people this good.

And this is where the practical effects, so you've got to give them a bit of a chef's kiss, because it was shit fantastic. I'll give you that. And I'm not doing that as a derogatory. You had people in black suits with skeletons just peeling on them.
You had skeletons that was just mannequins to stand in there just like in certain pauses to get hit by the blades. And then you had the whole practical effect where people that was just getting pulled by rope, that was almost like they were going to get hit, then they were just like, yang in them. You were just like, whoa, like flying off into this essence. And I know, as you said, when we look at like horror movies or action movies and stuff, like 11 million pounds, it's still a lot of money, but for a movie of this size and what they did, what they got out of that, it's just absolutely unbelievable.
It's coming to you in as well with the kind of skeletons. Like when the guy that's crawling along before that tries to knife him and then gets hit with the bricks, the way they just make his mouth move and he's like, it was so good. I brought that down. I was like, a puppeteer and it's incredible.
And it's funny as well. And that's pretty hard to do when you're trying to convey emotions with skeletons. I enjoy your spot on because I have one thing I did look at after the movie because I was convinced. I know the companies very much did not like do anything horror or scary that much.
And it's weird saying that because they have made some of the scariest ones I've made. I thought Jim Henson would have had something to do with this with the puppeteering book. I have nothing to do with it. Because the level of the puppeteering was up there with what Jim Henson does produce.
Yeah. Especially for that time as well. I think of how things were progressing in puppeteering because we had round about then was the turtles. And that was the first time that puppeteering and animatronics were used together.
So the technology is kind of like advanced. And at that time, so you would expect like Henson to be involved in it somehow. But Henson would not touch horror. As we learned in the turtles one.
No, the reason everyone thinks the turtles is violent is because Jim Henson told everyone that it was. It's not really. Some of the greatest, like this poor, raffereltexer being sitting out with that we say. But yeah.
One of the notes I did make as well. Because normally when you get through a movie like this, the final fight is normally of a damn suede or a letdown. This was a really good final fight. Like between the two, Ash and Evil Ash.
And how good sword player? Like Ash is in these two days. He's been there. He's learned how to be like a sword.
That's like a sword master. To the degrees that he can do double sorted. So fucking hell. Like Linda was very lucky lady if we could do that with his hands.
But yeah. So the sword fight with Evil Ash and he's pulling off some assaults, back flips. And it's not over too long. It's not over shot.
And it's ridiculous. But in a fun way, but not all the blone. And as Sammy found out, I like the the payoff as well, where she burns Evil Ash's flesh off and he falls off and gets skeletal. And then a different guy comes in.
I have to fucking rewatch it. I feel like I've missed like a challenge this episode. I'm just going to miss the whole portion of the fight. I have seen this so many times as well.
And I feel like I've missed a whole portion of the film. I just remember him standing on this hill. I was like, let's fuck. He come from.
