Can't rain all the time. Okay. Meg, it's Michael. I love you.

I know. Hang on, slow ahead. Come on down and jump some of this shit. I'll do some scary movie.

Uh-huh. How was this? This is a brody. We came, we saw, we kicked it out.

Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice. It's your day.

So alive. Well, live. Bye everyone and welcome to the nerdy of North Podcast. It's a nerdy podcast and it's hosted by Northern nerds.

I am one of your hosts, Sam. And I am the other host, Paul. And if we all have any technical issues or volume or sound issues, please let me know straight away. I don't want to be sounding like a demon all the way through this.

And thank you. But yes. So tonight is a very special night. We are joined by two very attractive, two very beautiful and two very sexy men.

So we've got the beautiful and the lovely and the very cuddly man that is Joe. And we've got the motherfucking hobo Lee and coming back down with his emo flair and he's joining the Black Parade and all that. She has just got a fucking haircut. Wow.

He's doing his part. I'm here till you find someone better on dead. Oh, well played. Well played.

Well played. Well played. Well, say on that though, before we start getting into the nitty gritty, we do have a measured message from the amazing, I don't know what we could call him at this point, just to show that he's doing his part. So I know I'll put a jaw and some in the volume for this, but I hope he's enjoyed it.

Why do we need to push that thumbs up button anyway? Drop it. Put your hand on that wall. You will hit that like button or I will disable your hand.

That video was about. I don't know. Who knows what's going on inside my head. I don't.

This is what happens. Lee has a few minutes spare or I have a few days where he just basically doesn't know what he's doing. But yes, that's how we get you to press that like button or Lee's gonna fucking stab you. That's it.

But the only thing he did forget, and actually I'm quite disappointed he didn't, there wasn't a scry of medic at the end. So that was the only thing I thought was this. But thank you, Lee. Your skills on the video is just amazing.

Something to be desired. Yes. I've done a good job with the Photoshop, I've been in the federal network. Nothing.

I feel like an idiot now. Lee, and you've been put to shame by Lee. Oh, good. Yes, that's the standard that we are going to now.

So I hope everyone rears the Lee's bar. So anyone who's part of the discord and part of the Photoshop crew who's doing the Photoshop, that's the bar. We have to hit that now. So I'm not accepting anything less as we do with this movie.

But yes, I mean, do you want to do the disclaimer? Yeah, we'll get done with so everything that's supposed to do is episode is our opinions and our opinions alone. If you'd like to see anything from today's episode, please come and join us on the Facebook page, the discord or the comment section where we can have an open session. But we won't have anyone coming for us and don't let our opinions are wrong.

We can all agree to disagree in tandem. So let's keep it fun. Keep it kind and keep the toxic behavior. Out of nerdism.

Very well said. Yes. And I know I'm not going to steal a bit. So do you want to do a little bit as well?

Let me see. Yeah. Anyone else else? Anyone else?

I'm not saying that's very true. You're the only one who hasn't been. Yeah. How are you doing?

I'm watching. You can't do as cringy as me. I thought it was going to be taglines. I was like, oh, no, no.

Taglines will come in a bit. Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to steal my taglines from us.

Please. No one found it down. Should I do this? No, I'm interested in watching because this week has been a hell of a week for TV.

Yes. I'll start with X-Men. I know. You want to do it really?

I'll do it really. I'll do it really. I'll do it really. I'll do it really.

I'll do it really. I'll do it as cringy as me. I thought it was going to be taglines. I was like, oh, no.

Taglines will come in a bit. Yeah. I'll do it as cringy as me. I thought it was going to be taglines.

I was like, oh, no. Taglines will come in a bit. Yeah. It was just like, you know, it's just like this.

I don't know if this was like a five-year start with this X-Men. That was out on Wednesday. 3, 2, 1 is getting spoiled for you, Yes! Yeah.

Oh, I was sore. I can't believe they've done that. I did. They did it.

Yeah, and blood. Everything. I thought it was my body pocket, hadn't already. The concept of Wolverine by Dmygneidor has forever perplexed me.

Yeah. Because, you know he's just not done that yet, out of sheer kindness. Yeah. Absolutely.

Yeah. I'm not going to rip you apart out of mercy. He did it in the comics and it was one of the most brutal frames of comics I have seen comics I've seen like and read and that story arc was just a music because then you had like um because he didn't just put you back in they didn't like they didn't get out of me at my impact so he was born it was like born clothes for quite a few years which was quite interesting so it was still had his hailing power and like getting like wolverines out of tune stuff he just didn't quite have like the strength so I'm trying to stab something like you know have that kind of like restriction of being borns which was quite an interesting thing but to say it's actually in like a TV setting or like a cartoon it was fucking brutal as well yeah on real it's a minute and sold blood on wolverines called like i mean cause he just went shit blood never done blood and then he went oh shit i know where this is going and i was just like what the fuck i was i had not read the comic but i'm sure it is afterwards and i was like Jesus Christ so i'm just sitting there in total shop like hold in the setting grip in the setting go what the fuck is happening and that was honestly the season has been somebody said it perfectly on tiktok they didn't know how to anticipate it being done in the first place yeah didn't know how to feel about it then i was like we'll live up to the expectations of the one in the 90s and now it's like how do i live without this in my life after this finishes next week but the good thing is there's been two seasons filmed there's two things two seasons made to do it but don't worry i'm thinking i know when we talk about the show like because we are gonna because this is one of these instances where the show has been that good that we like sent as a team went we need to talk about this so we're not doing an episode of podcast we're just gonna do a spoiler cast where we're just gonna like spread out our feelings like on the screen and there'll be tears there'll be emotions but there'll be something there's not been one episode where i've just not been left like wanting your gasping or smiling at the same time it's everything that the next man comic the next man comics has been through the years just about who's been the right as these characters have evolved the cartoon is caught better than any format than i've experienced i massively um i don't think there's been a week over the last like three four weeks where the minute we've finished watching we're straight in the chapters x-men that is it and then everyone's like oh shit got away can we watch it because it is it's just being fucking breathtaking you don't think that a cartoon from the night is that you you hold dear in your heart because of the age of your wrath can still get you 20 years later like it's it's mind-blowing that they still have managed to be able to capture that and they the aim and it at a new audience but they're also aiming at the old audience because there's little nippy bits in there that are like from the original really cleverly done like bravo marvel every other sort seems to have like a lot of amazing stuff in it but each episode's also overshadowed by something like traumatic like a whole world thing but like obviously professor x came back that's amazing and like all the repercussions of that and nobody likes them anymore it's like you're a dick you left us with a bit and a little bit disappointed in them yeah that was expected you saw that happening you saw that the minute magnet was to sure she was going with them she's too angry he's gonna feed into that anger but i did when child's came back i went look at you look at it not what you've done and again a lot of people are going to think i'm going to be weird saying this i am so happy that disney and marvellor handling this as well because the cameos we are getting now is like we wouldn't have got these cameos if like it was all fox or the old car we've had the Hulk spider-man we've had Dr. Doom it's it's been Captain America that bit with bro going broke and yes when Captain America is like talking i was like i'm sure where he's like what can i have to deal with?

I'm like i'm gonna have to try and handle this this fucking scorned woman who's just out of the blood not to move away from x-men in the slightest if you want to continue talking just the news that's come out today is that we're looking to be getting rumoured to be getting a Captain America TV series with Chris Evans back and it's going to be the Infinity Storm journey and um and it's a live action yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah for seven seconds back it's Captain America um do it's the Infinity journey so it's what happens after he took the Infinity Storms back yeah um i am not interested you can't go back like we want to move forward with with Marvel and into in going so why do we need to go back yeah it's it's sticks of desperation now on marvellous i'm quite looking forward to it um i would like a normal to find him too devout i think that's it because there's people i want to say it's personally i'm not not one I'll watch it because I am a fanboy for anything that is too. Just walking to my bones. Yeah. It's nice to see it's like I think there's been a lot of disappointments to keep up with Marvel and it's nice to go back to that memory of when it was good.

And I thought I'd just do it though. And I told you get that but why do we need to rely on that? Why can't we move forward? We like to just cast Galactus.

Holy shit what a fucking cast casting lived on that is unreal. So let's move forward with that journey. Let's go into Fantastic Four. Why do we need to go back?

We see that though because it's really good again. No because I understand what Sammy's saying but look at the reaction they've had through Deadpool and Wolverine because they've got you Jack and Brock. Look at the reaction they got from Norway Hall. Spider-Man when they got told we've got Andrew Garfield back.

So they are going to be like because I can say good wars if the rumors are true the main three characters in Sacred Wars is going to be Deadpool Wolverine and sort of be the quiet Spider-Man. They're going to be the three main protagonists in Sacred Wars to try and move through like the second part and then it's going to be getting apparently that's when Robert Downey Jr comes back. But again it's one of those things where Marvel now the fucked up so much it's throwing the Holy Hand grining at him and saying how do we support this and how do we get back on track? And again and I totally get what you're saying like with the fact that you know they've had these people having to come back into do things and totally fine let's bring Chris Evans back as Captain America you will always find a way to be able to bring him back to now time.

But do we have to go backwards as well I mean do we have to go to the Infinity Stone? Yeah I don't need to hear about the Infinity Stone anymore. That's the thing we're doing. What else is it going to explore like you're just taking them back?

Yeah exactly. The secret was. It's a little adventures on the way and I think whatever he does will change time. Yeah so that's just what you need to check or something is this?

Maybe. Maybe you're again. It's time to go back. Oh she's made.

And the whole secret was thing I don't want Toby in a Spider-Man for that. I want Andrew Garfield or Tom Holland's but I'd rather have Andrew Garfield. To be fair to that. If you can't let him find the symbol there and Toby's already done with that.

But that's always where the going but I know with Andrew Garfield he's supposed to be getting the Sony treatment so that they're still I know they're still looking the rooms after Madam Webb. I still don't watch it. It's just that they've got Toby finding that black suit and being like Oh great I wonder what this is. No.

He's gonna be like. He knows exactly what it is. He'll be like oh shit. Tofu Grace is gonna come back and be a shit Venom again.

Sorry. Let's talk with Grace. I'm sorry. He was never any brocked over.

I didn't do it right. He was wrong. It's how he was written. Yeah the other thing I'll watch this so he can start watching is Dead Boy.

Dead Boy Detective which Netflix has done a really shit job of advertisement because this is part of the Sun Man universe and it's actually in the Sun Man universe because Death is the same character playing in it as well. There's another character who comes in later on from Sun Man not telling you who it is but it's also in the digital universe. They've done absolutely no promotional work for this. We saw a route when Kameen Ansel wanted to occasionally have a look at new releases and we saw the trailer for it and went oh that looks interesting.

But we never put to it until you said this is part of that universe. I was like is shit. And then that's what I'm saying. Interesting.

He was like I still don't. It's more comedy than Sun Man. It's a bit more lighthearted but Jesus Christ it's good. Brilliant.

It's so good. I have fallen madly in love with Edwin. He's just an absolute sweetheart. I'm going to sell it to Joy now in two words.

Talking Cats. Talking Cats. Okay. Yeah talking Cats.

We asked we were talking last night like how would our cats sound? Because I would love to think that like would Bing see sound like a 1920s gangster. Always be sort of like like the pet voice. Yeah.

You're doing me it and then like you put the book. Yeah. Yeah we were talking came out as a bit dumb and a bit special and I'm not going to repeat the voice that Anthony did for him. It's the same way we talked to Lee.

Yeah. And his wife was like this like hi duchess. So we spent ages like working out our cats voices. Let's let's say.

Oh what we got up to in the Bryce household. On all around. So have you guys watched anything other than what we've talked about as well? Lee.

Yes but I've got one question that I've just remembered. I wanted to ask before. Just back to Marvel for one question. John Malkovich has been cast in the Fantastic Four.

Who do you think he's going to be? Oh see. I'll be excited if it was Doom but I think it's going to be Joy. I'll be excited if it was Doom.

It would be amazing as Doom. He's a bit old but still. I think Toy Master. Is it Toy Master or something like that?

That's what people have been seeing. But Doom would be interesting. So everyone thinks Doom is the thing. And all of this room is kicking about because of the joke and I was going to be my festival as well.

I've got to be cast as my festival. Right. So yeah that's actually one that's freaking out. Because he's supposed to be cast High Ed by Marvel.

He's going to be the post me playing the Marvel's Devil. So we should see. Especially with Ghost Rider post me in the pavement soon as well. But yeah.

It's a Nikidge. It depends. And sick of wars Nikidge is supposed to be in the pavement. Yes.

Oh, devil is bothering. But yeah. I would love to have John Malkovich just doing though. That would be exciting.

It'll be sinister as fuck. It would be totally sinister. Yeah. In Doom it went in my head.

But whenever I do it always has such a sinister voice in my head. So I get that. Cyrus the virus is new. Yeah.

It's brilliant. Yes, George. Oh sorry. I was going to be watching this and Knuckles.

I'll find you finish watching that. Oh, well the movie is on TV show. Oh, 26 episodes. Cut.

And it's very much like Sonic. Where it's like a fun little adventure where he goes on an adventure with the main cop from the films Deputy. Right. And it's like it's got like 80 soundtrack all the way through which for me if something got 80 soundtrack all the way through it just automatically makes it 100 times better.

I have to know. This is where Carrie from the group joins in the comments. Hi guys. I heard it's Sonic.

Yeah, it's still in the cell bar as well. So I haven't like this about the actors and stuff. And it's just a really fun, happy TV show. Oh cool.

I did like Sonic 2 so I'm still not on that terrain. But yeah. I might give it a go if I've got an answer. Oh, okay.

What about you Joseph? Oh, a lot of stuff that no one's going to want to talk about. So I'll just rattle it off really quickly. New series of Doctor Who started.

I'm still watching Star Trek Discovery and the new series of Welcome to Raxson's back. Oh, I'm starting to the season. Let's cancel the podcast now. I'm going to watch it now.

So really cool. It's got it's very light on the Ryan Reynolds because I think obviously he's filming stuff. Yeah. He's been busy.

So like he's been in episodes but it's mostly been like just a talking head and I've noticed it's the same talk and head as if he's like literally had him for like a few hours to sit in the moment. Please do you talk and head for this episode. So it's a bit of a shame on that. The other characters are still there and the people and the town and the fans are not and I'm still following the journey.

It's a bit when you can just look at the league for the season and go. They did well. I know how it's going to end but I'm going to enjoy the journey regardless and it's about the people. I know I did catch, as you mentioned Doctor Who, I caught the end of Doctor Who yesterday for Eurovision coming on.

Jinxman soon looked fucking amazing. Sorry on TikTok. There's the maestro. Yes, I was quite...

I only watched the first episode. Oh, spoilers! It's on Disney Park obviously I don't live in the UK so I can't watch BBC content. on Disney Plus.

Which was, eh? I really liked you, Gala. I'm really enjoying him, not sucking on the woman who's in it. I'm sure I'll have to commit to Marie at some point.

I took my manager there to set you to Gala. Let's get to Renva Buzz. Well done, Joel. I might watch the Jinxman soon because I am in love with Jinx, but yes, so good one.

I tried on the Discord channel. I was like, is anyone watching this cover? I'm sure. Oh, wow.

Have you got anything you want to see? No, no, he's right to be like that. Right. I just watch it.

I just like Star Trek. It's got the same problem. Every season they do with the card, they set up this really cool idea that's going to take them over the whole season arc and then they can never close. They can never close a season.

They just can't deliver it. Last season, I was loving it. Absolutely loving a season four of Discovery. I was like, this is fantastic.

This is really good science fiction. I got like the last three episodes and I was like, you fucking idiots. You've done it again. You've absolutely ruined it.

Got to have me a hound. I'll show you in your region. Oh, I thought we got a train region on the surface. I think it's not Friday night.

Why are you talking about the question? I'll do it for Friday night. That's right. So, one from one sci-fi short to a sci-fi movie.

Sci-fi movie. And I'm going to give you the taglines before we get into said movie. There's a one that I'm not particularly near from the director of Total Recall and Biz Instinct. Wow, it's worth more than that.

Yeah, prepare for battle. That sounds like a poor one. I don't want to laugh at the next one. genocide doesn't compare to this.

We'll take a moment. Yeah, I'm just going to move on. Since the dawn of existence, humankind has ruled the earth. No, no.

Since the dawn of existence, humankind has ruled the earth. In every age, there is a cause worth fighting for. But in the future, the greatest threat to our survival will not be managed all. I wonder if all of these are the American ones.

There was an interview I was watching with someone who, I can't remember if it's one of the actors or like Paul the Goven or someone like that. And he was saying all of it did really badly in America because they didn't know how to market this film. But then he flew across to the UK and all of the posters everywhere looked amazing. And it had been a quote on like the only good bug is a dead bug.

Oh, that's so cool. And we actually liked it and we went and watched it and made quite a bit more money over here. Right. The sense of humour in this movie felt very British.

Like, it was almost like a Monty Python style. Everything was kind of like tongue in cheek or like everyone was kind of laughing but in a serious way. Like, this is a serious movie and you're like, shit, it's not. It's really not.

It's really, really not. I will give it a few as though. It has some really good creature designs. I thoroughly loved the bugs in this.

And I'm glad they didn't do what it freaks did and kind of give them a bit of a voice. I didn't want that. And even though at the end I did start to feel sorry for the brain bug. I'm not going to like but I thought the design work on them.

And to look at it now in like 2024 and 2024's tellies as well, especially my tellies, it's just got a big one guys. Just put it out there. It's fucking huge. But it looked, it looked beautiful.

It didn't look out to play. I didn't know how like, I just didn't, I just didn't, I just didn't even rise in the other day, which will be out tomorrow. And there's some stuff on there that is like, yeah, ish. But this didn't feel like that at all.

It was very beautifully put together. Sorry. That was the best way to describe it. Watching it back to the special effects and the images, like everything that's on screen holds up.

This was made in 1999. So, it's the same year as the better rising. Right. Meaning you have different markers for the it's got some age behind it as well.

But the special effects do hold up. And we are describing it now. Like this is probably if I was going to like try and not do a tagline, but if I was going to describe the movie to a friend, because I'm not going to try and do the plot because the plot is just fucking batching crazy. It's probably like the most closest sci-fi cult computer game movie ever.

Because like when you watch it, it's very much like a computer game. You level it up. Like everything you do is something you levels up to the next level. And the bad guys and the monsters keep getting bigger and better and they keep using similar looks.

Like you start off with the normal bugs, then you get the flying bugs, then you get the bug bugs with the things that come out like the lava that comes out with the head, the tankers, and then you get like say the megabug at the end of the brain bug. So everything's like you play in a computer game and you go on through the kind of emotions. It's so true. There was one moment where you got thrown down a hall and I went Wesley, like Wesley, you're coming down this hall.

I felt like I was watching Helldivers come towards the end. I was like, hold on. Where's Jay Wesley? Adam and Michael laughs.

But you want to just feel like it's like leveling up. It is so well done as well. What's the cost of funding? He's just been interviewed recently watching watching Helldivers to gameplay and they've got a counter at the top that's been on every time you say, wow, this is so much like Starship troopers and it's like 15 times or so.

I'm like a 5 minute video. You know who his daughter is? That's my bandimes. It's Chrissy from the show.

I think it's Chip Busey. He absolutely loves him. He's absolutely brilliant. So he's a big Jack Busey band.

He's a big Gary Busey band as well. That's the cast as well though. He's the cast. He doesn't realise.

It is a very much a B movie. But there's some Ailey's cast in here as well. Like Denise Richards. Have you ever seen a more beautiful cast in a movie?

I've not even just Denise Richards. Like give it to everyone. I'm just wondering if there's any work after this apart from just crap stuff? I think this is the first introduction of Barney Stinson in this movie as well.

No, that's not Barney Stinson. When you say he's on the dance floor, I think that's Barney. Oh, that's Barney Stinson. It's the name.

Do you know Myers? Let's keep calling him Doogie. Because obviously he's trying to do work. But they kept calling him How is there something?

Like Doctor How is there something? Do you hear the killer? Do you hear the killer? Because of that bloody costume at the end?

Wow. What were they thinking? Yeah. I've got a direct quote from Chris as well.

Like when we watching, I think it was ghost adventures on the Discord on Saturday. Chris was talking about first time watching this movie and Chris left because Chris is a bit of a pervert. And this was the first movie I saw Bushing. Oh, I was just a boob.

The band movie I saw boobs on TV. Yes. I've just had my tiny little mind blown. Yeah, you actually saw it live.

Chris has seen a woman next. That kind of got us. But I've always thought that Carrie Russell was in this film and it's not. It's bloody down here.

What the fuck is wrong with me? I actually should have mentioned the best character. Normally she is. Well, she's the most like double character in this movie.

She's the most like double character in this movie. She's the most like double character in this movie. She's the most like double character in this movie. She's the most like double character in this movie.

This movie seems to have launched a lot of careers and boosted a lot of people's careers. Like, like, I don't mean, um, or who's it? Oh, Alex Longshuddle from Bunchy. I can't remember.

He's the Mexican guy with the like, Tash. Yes. Gabriel from The Walking Dead. Yes.

Yeah, yeah. Sorry. Sorry. Yeah.

Yeah, we did. We have done him. Yeah, we've done him. He went back.

Clans, he's from like random people. Oh, I can't see. Clans, he's from his. Clans, he's from his.

Has got, can't see Brown done anything bad in his movie. No, never, never, never. I would never, I would never turn off a can't see Brown film or TV show. It's just the law you have to watch him.

Can't see Brown, like, not just, it's not just things that I like. I can eat his voice. He's working. He does as well.

Like his voice that man, I love him so much. And, um, Oh, Denise Richards, I think it's like pretty much launched her career as well. No, no, that was wild things. But this was the wild things that came out of here after this, didn't it?

Oh, no. Just remember wild things. Yeah. So I just got lost in the morning for a bit.

I'm just trying to get, Denise Richards have a career. Oh, she's in James Bond. She was in Friends. And the best person in this store for me, Michael Ainsight.

Yes. Oh, I think, I think, Cass and Dara as much as we're right, we need an army general guy who looks like he's seen some shit. Who can we get? Everyone was Michael Ainsight.

I just wanted to cheer from him every time he was on screen as well. He just had such a presence. And he, he gets some. He's a heart as well.

Yeah. Well, he gives him 20 minutes. Like, you can do a lot of 20 minutes, twice, sorry, three times if you're lucky. Yeah.

Well, it's just that it was the way he was with his team. Like, and the way they were with him when you get introduced to the, what was it called the rough? Rough. Rough.

Rough. Rough. Rough. Rough.

Rough. Rough. Rough. Rough.

Rough. Rough. Rough. But yeah.

So when you get introduced to them, you realize that he is just as important to him as they are to them. And it's, it seemed like he just come across really, really, aren't full. I don't know if that's a word. But if you look at it, because I know we were mentioned about the special effects like the prosthetics as well.

Like, you actually think he's, like, that was just unbelievable. He's on listen. Yeah. Like, I don't know how would it did that.

Like, again, that must have been like, cross between practical and special effect. I know there's probably some green screen use there, but fuck me, it was done well. The, the guy who's on is on. Yeah.

Yeah. You had a way of blue sleeve on his on. Right. And then they just edited it.

It's a guy with a hand. It's a guy with a hand. It's a guy with a hand. But the editor looks really, it looks like good that you would think it looks practical.

And which is when I'm not not a, not a pause to CGI being used. But the guy with a hand, his hand man. But he was saying, and then the minute the desk, you know, it's like, oh, look at that work on his hand. So that looks fantastic.

There's actually something I really love about the depiction of like, people with amputations in this movie, people were like, something like that. And no one really, no one really calls it out or treats it weird. Yeah. It's just, it is.

It's a horrible part of their society. This is, this is how people are, you know, they've served, they've lost something. It's what they've given up for their freedom. Didn't have to use much CGI for the guy though, because he doesn't actually have legs.

Right. All right. Lost his legs in the car crash. That guy.

Like before after movie. Before. That's the fact that's going to work. But no, Joe's absolutely writing this well.

It's not looked at is like, you saw it, but that's obviously to show you the extent of what these people have gone through. But it wasn't a thing where it's like, oh shit, it was just normal society. This is how it is. Yeah.

But you're a humorist though. Yeah. The Moblin free made me the man I am today. Yeah.

And just this one's the flip a lot. This is like one guy later on says that the, the Moblin free spot them through university. Otherwise it would cost him an arm and leg. Yeah.

I was like, Oh, nice. That's a good on the nose. Yeah. But I do like it's like, it's like, it's not right.

Sorry. No, no, no. That's because Joe and Sam both have really interesting point as well. Like the world that they live in now, it's very much, as you said, I would class this as a futuristic robot cop movie in a, because I know it's by the same director, but this is the same type of world.

Like where the world's gone to such a degree where you're not classed as a citizen unless you've served. So you don't have certain rights. Like you can't have babies. You can't have, like you get put through university.

You can't go into politics. You can't become a writer. Yeah. As if you're having service almost treating you like a second class citizen.

If you haven't been, it's like a futuristic world. But a lot of it is paid for last, but that's a fucking serious and quite strong statement to make as well. But again, I think a lot of people kind of get lost on, but especially with everything that's going on in the moment, it hits the wall quite true to me. MASSIVELY, it's when she said I want a family.

Like I'm doing this for a family. I'm more like guaranteed a license. I was like, oh, that's definitely didn't pick up the first time. Yeah.

Not at that point. That's a ten year old. To be fair though, you shouldn't be watching. This is a ten year old later.

I absolutely did. My mum was in the child here. It's on you. If you're watching, thank you, Joe's mum.

Thank you for your service. Yeah. Well, I think there was a conversation that Parox G would have when he was on there. He was like, you know, I'm bald and whatever.

You know, Joe LaForgen, the next generation, he's blind. He's got these things. And they said, the future isn't a place where these things don't exist. You know, the Star Trek future.

We haven't got rid of this stuff. It's just, it's not a problem. It's not like everyone's going to point and go, you're blind, you're blind, ha ha ha. Because we've just grown beyond that as a society.

This is the flip side. That's like, we've grown up to be so tolerant of everything. It's fine. This is like, we've grown up, they've lost their limbs.

And because of that, they can vote. They've got power as a result of this. They've literally sacrificed for it. And it's such a weird, like, alt-future, because it's so far apart.

But they're not as a society. And again, it's a thing where, like, in society as well, money still is a big issue, a big thing. Because rigor's parents are obviously well off. And they're saying, well, you don't have to go through, or we don't want you to do this.

We can get you to places where you want to be. You don't have to serve. But he chooses it because he chooses it for the wrong reason, as we find out for the girl. But again, it's that kind of utopia where you think, oh, this looks all shiny and nice.

But in the background, that must be some dirt. There must be some grind. It's so, so, it's how well this movie depicts, like, actual, like, hell, the people. Yeah.

And how masculine is it, like, as a ten-year-old. Obviously, we're not mostly perceptive as ten-year-olds. But I was just totally bliggish. I thought this was a movie about fight bugs.

Yeah. I totally missed the flashes. I totally missed the dystopic horrors. I just went, that's boobs.

Boobs of boobs. A lot of boobs. Now, that's the time I'm going to start with now. Boobs and bugs, the jaw review.

Oh, that's such a good type of a boob. And he's on biography. Boobs and bugs. That's a bad story.

I watched this with Al, because this is one of Al's favourite films. Like, absolutely. He does cast it in, like, his top ten. And he made his watch it.

And I don't think I really was picking up on a lot of it. But when I re-watched it a day, I just, I couldn't get over it. Not only how good visually it was, apart from Casper Van Dimes, oh, I just wanted to make a bit more. He wasn't rough enough for us.

Yeah. When he's doing it, keep topping. Oh, the sound is so short, swallowing, guys. It's fine.

And he's such a pretty boy. And just a circle back to Casper. We're toning up. They intentionally pick people who looked good.

Like, who were very visually attractive. Because this is a propaganda film. This is like a, you know, and to put people on the film, you want people to look good. You want to go like, join the military.

Look how beautiful the people you work with are going to be. Yeah. It's based on like a utopian society. I get to be like, Nazi sort of, like, like, the best on the military.

The book is based on the Soviet military. Yeah. It's based on the 1958 novel, I think, Star Trek Troopers. It's a true story.

That's one wrote back in 1950s. Yeah, it's right. It's right. I'm fine.

Okay, that's all I'm wrong. I'm fine. I'm really sorry about that. Just to say that, Sammy has not died, guys.

If you listen on the audio, Sammy is alive. I'm sorry about your people. I'm giving her this kick in my arse and I'm giving the inhalers more than ever. So I apologize.

That's fine. I was thought on such a really good thing now. And I've told you last year. It's okay.

It's all picked up and smashed out the park. It's fine. Oh, thanks, John. It's something else.

Of course it's cool. Yeah, it's cool. Just again, teasing with the casting part as well. I know we talked about a little bit of air, and Sammy got very excited.

How fucking terrifying is room with Taryn, a golden girl in this as a science stage? What the fuck were they doing with her face? So this time? She reminded me of someone with the glasses in the hair.

It was like the guy from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. No, no, no. It was like maybe for Christmas? Oh, the professor.

Like this. Oh, right. I get that. Oh.

Yeah. I was thinking Boris to the animal from in Blacry. Oh, my God. It's a mixture of all three.

Yeah. It was the glasses, though. Yeah. It's the big glasses.

It wasn't until I shut my eyes and go blanch. Yeah. That you. That you.

That you. Watching that and going back. That used to be the golden girls. I used to fancy when I was a kid.

Now it's going to do. That's not that. Oh, I've wanted a bit of blanch, don't lie. You didn't want to be blanch because you would have had a bit of you.

Oh, she would have been fell for shit. She wouldn't let us go anywhere as well. So yeah. Oh, I mean, she was not.

She was not a southern lady. She was the weirdly girl. To be further, you wouldn't fuck Be Arthur. Be Arthur would fuck you.

She said. You're all there. Just put it out there. Anyways, I stopped fucking trying to go.

And fucking the golden girls. I thought they were going to have too many Fs in there. They're not going very well. Actually, which is a chamari in the void.

Which golden girl would you go through? Ah, I'm going to be here. What? I have something we can segue on too.

Yeah, let's go first. I think, and I don't think it's ever really explicitly said in the movie. I think society in this movie discourages relationships. I think they actually discourage people to get together.

Not only obviously the licensing for having babies. That kind of makes sense in terms of population control. But the way that people act around regal and Carmen at the dance and dizzy and Carl, the way that they stop them, like a kiss and the way they stop them being near each other and the way that people treat the people who were like neck and on outside their period outside about Czechs class. I don't know if it's a real thing in the movie, but it's like, do you reckon this society actually discourages people from even romantic relationships?

Do you think they're just like, well, because they're technically of anything. They've definitely lowered the sex drive because they have like gender-neutral showers together and nobody's like, oh, look boobs. Yeah, and people are more interested in the citizen ship service that they're developing their life. Yeah, and that was so refreshing to see in that shower scene.
