I don't think it's going to be worrying about that it's not tight around those places it's just I'm not going to start speaking in a really high voice office. Thank you guys for joining us again this evening I know we had a bit of a special episode that we did today and if you haven't checked it out don't check it out yet until you have seen Of course Busses After Life it was quite a spoiler heavy episode. We did have a lot of fun and we we write a lot of wrongs and we told the internet to fuck off quite a few times as well. We literally give the internet earlier. Yes there was a classic poll rant we haven't had one of those for a while.

It's been a while hasn't it? It's been a while. I think I'm quite getting mellow in here all the age or just like they get used to it but yeah the internet pissed us off this weekend or the last week just the way the hell they'd be having and growing adults are kind of like chat children not even like children I'm not even going to give them that that's that repertoire but yes so Sammy do you want to do your bits because we haven't any bits for a while we haven't no so guys how you're doing and what you've been watching? Cool what have you been watching Lee?

X-menic. I think we all have been watching that. Yep. There are only two episodes on so far.

Two episodes dropped yes so I know I was told Jake about it this morning when we were doing a few tests and I got up the other night because I was like oh shit it's out I've been watching wouldn't let us go back to sleep so I took up in the morning and I decided to watch the two episodes because my brain hates me yes but yes what did you think of it though? Anyone? Oh it was fantastic. The animation's a lot better than I thought it was going to be.

I love it. Because new animation compared to old animation that seemed to do like a cheaper version of it and things always get a bit dumbed down but it's still fantastic the story's good, the story's good, the twists. Can we actually talk about it like in the spoiler? Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like I thought the thing I thought about animation just sorry touch on that is like it looks a little bit like adult swim like metal lock lips kind of like flash animation but the action looks fine it's just some parts were a little bit distracting but then again the old show's animation was kind of terrible for the time.

I don't know it's probably just nostalgia but no it was good no I think animation wise it was better than Marvel what if I feel like it looks better than that. No definitely. I thought the colors were amazing like I know it sounds weird about colors but everything was just so vibrant and the tones of everything was just so on the making makes and I love that they used the same opening but just updated it and Anthony was so happy watching my 39 year old husband watching that opening and just being like so giddy and happy and I was like oh you've built my heart and then at the end when I did the ending as well the same he was just he was so happy and then when they met they made the official announcement that Storm was Omega level mutant he fucking flirty shits. Honestly if there was a table thing about it would have been going off he was sort over the moon with that but the animation some of the stills because he looked like a contact record from a comic like Jubilee I feel like I could picture her in a comic book and I'm sure Magneto is the Magneto I read in death of the death of Magneto.

It looked like it was a pen to me. It's definitely a legit outfit from he's like chained to the ground on the front of like the cover it's from but yeah I love the outfit I know some people will want like you know the red and like the reds with the helmet and stuff but I thought this was like the sexiest Magnetos ever looked at. Let's talk about the sexiness of this episode because let's wear a gambit in the tank top can I just come here to dress this place. I'm quite a straight heterosexual man and I was like oh I quite like this.

That's gonna be like cosplay for like that's gonna sustain cosplay as for like six years I think. I was a little bit of a look. Sorry. No I'm sorry.

I was gonna say that not made you a little bit sad that we still haven't had a live action gambit. No really because he's too much closer to character like Wolverine so I don't think a live action one is needed to be fair especially when we get such good quality like cartoon versions or even comic versions so I think they might put this on screen at some point though like as in I think they're just gonna take this as the blueprint going forward which I think most people around our age are totally fine with like this is like their X-Men as far as I'm concerned like I know there's like a lot but I think this was the thing that like broke through the mainstream like the 2001 movies and stuff but I think all the actors have kind of aged out of that at this point like from the movie X-Men. Yeah I love the fact that they had the so the original voice actors in there like Storm, Rogue, She's the Wolverine, same actors from the 90s. I absolutely adored that.

They're a little bit jarring I thought because like how dramatic Storm like in the 90s aren't you as so dramatic and with the hell on about a gambit in that tank top online is absolutely ridiculous and I can't count how many people actually tagged this into a video that's been going around TikTok where this guy's like everyone's complaining that he's wearing like this tank top and the colors that he's wearing did you not check out these suits from the early will you not pay the attention to that? Gambit's like suits always like we did me out because he's got that like tube on his head where his head pops out of the top of the tube. If you've got a live action on I want to say it's probably done properly I remember back in the early like maybe we're in like 2012, October 2015-ish there was like talks moving after that but there was talks about doing a gambit film and it was like I'm trying to take him and I was like his head's not long enough to pop up No at the time all our new talent from was like like CGI journeys dance movies and then when 21 Jump Street came out. Don't just dance the dance movies the magic mic.

That's not there. No, no, no, sorry that's time I'm never getting back. I'm like watch this. It was terrible but no and then he did 21 Jump Street and I'm like oh he's actually got some range and then he did Tarantino's here for late and I was like oh he actually can carry dialogue too.

Maybe my opinion is changing on this man so I don't actually would be mad that he would do gambit. You have to do a cage and though even though when I watch it in the 90s I have no idea what a cage and I was like I don't know what it is about gambit but I kind of don't care so much about him. I like his power set but I'm quite happy for Rogue to be cheap nothing. I'm like yeah let's talk about the stuff that's basically caused the internet to burn or kick off like say the relationship between Magniad or Anne Rogue where the things the internet just doesn't like that.

Well I don't know that it's weird because like Rogue and gambit always fight anyway so I'm like well and then she can't touch him also which must get in the way of things. And also isn't this taking directly from the comics the fact that they did have a relationship or they because it's because it's electro magnetism or something that you can turn it off or something like that. I've got no idea but what did he say? I can't remember what power he used but I don't know if he just levitated everyone he's just like ah it's electro magnetism I can control anything.

I think I just turned Magneto into like there's nothing he can't really do he can just create force fields around himself whatever he feels like. Just like make giant mechs out of the wreckage nearby. Yeah well the old card and use the text of directly from the comics and it was very true to the comics as well so I'm going forward and if it continues at this level I am very excited for this like this adaptation. It gives me hope as well I know me and Jake's talked about it before if they do the true greatest card and again the Spider-Man animated series.

If they did like a comeback to like one last season of that that would be like so much fun. That ended on a cliffhanger as well maybe so it needs another season. Did it? What was the cliffhanger?

I don't remember. A muddum website that she was going to help him find his mary gym. Right let's be honest though after muddum we're about to take the game. I've taken him over there.

It's fine if just the old lady on the spider went background to appear. That's how our picture is. I have no intention of watching the Sony one that's coming in for it. That's for sure.

I might watch it one day. Does this give you a kind of hope for live action explained when they come back into? Yeah like when they come into the MCU. I'll tell you what I was really scared that this was going to be a bit like what if or like sort of the recent TV stuff you know like Secret Wars and stuff where I was expecting it to be like super flat and not really have anything to say but it's like the total opposite where it was really like dynamic and exciting action-wise and it had like loads to say like about like you know their kind of version of the world where mutant select second-class citizens and there's like hate groups like militant hate groups against them and stuff and Magneto had like loads of amazing speeches where you were like you're like yeah he's right but then he was also like admitting that he was like that he'd done awful stuff like he was like actually like accepted consequences but still like fighting his like cause like his corner and I was just like it ah so like there is people like left at Disney who were allowed to like write things.

So it was dead interest and a little bit. You mentioned what if as well because apparently Rumus Arv Storm's got to play a big part in season three of What if? Yeah okay. What if it's so like weird to me I was massively disappointed that this stuck within the movie like timeline and nothing nothing that hadn't been shown in a movie showed up like no other characters like the should have found the X-Men way before because it's What If you could be like what if the X-Men came through the movie first um but no other just like how they just stuck to like only the actors and it was all like celebrity voices so they couldn't hire anyone new and it was just like this is weird I don't understand it it's not what if it's not strange enough.

Yeah. You're supposed to get like what if Wolverine and Batman got fused together and a dark kind of like that's a true one yeah. That's an amazing one if. No I think as you said they didn't steer too far away from it and I think again that marvel to the point that again I think what I feel like today I've just been slagging off Marvel.

We have brought them up in the gospels They've earned it. They've earned it at this point. It seems they don't know how to make like stay away or like if it keeps in they've got to make these big changes they don't make these any huge changes where you're like oh this is exciting it's kind of like oh this is the same but just tell them with different characters. They just need to strip it all back go back to the way it was previously let us have three movies a year let it all build up to something they don't want me to mess with that blueprint they know it works and it has worked I just feel at the moment was sitting in an age of fucking Iron Man 3 and Thor the Dark World and I want out so please marvel get me out of this.

And you know what those movies had in common it was about like heroes having like PTSD and stuff and it's like it's like okay like that that's fine like but remember these aren't like real people these are supposed to be like like super like you know crazier like better than average people I don't need the full movie about PTSD like I would like Thor to have a fun adventure please like you can do the sort of the aftermath in something else like the kind of release like comics or like you know side tv shows and stuff it's like I don't know that's not deep that's just putting the main character in a weird situation. To be fair we want to see how heroes being heroes and yeah that's why I'm excited about the next phase of the Spider-Man it's not going to be big if they do a neighborhood Spider-Man that's what I want to say Spider-Man clean up the streets of Queens or Brooklyn and then I can again have a dead level as well like being on like his area and fighting street level thugs gets me excited and that's what I want to say in the next place. Like in this like in this X-Men it was just a small thing but we're like ah here's like the the mall ox and the sewer like it was like ah we were acknowledging the world is bigger and we're like here the mutant like Genosha exists still like but in the Marvel films that sometimes just like no it's only Spider-Man he's never going to mention any of the other heroes because it's just Spider-Man you're never going to see them you know like in any meaningful yeah you need to you need to respect that you've opened the world up to team ups. You've got to just kind of hold it up.

Yes the only other thing I was going to mention as well that I've seen um while I've started watching is the gentleman on Netflix. The gentleman. I was a big fan of the movie I think what they're going to do with it they have changed the format a little bit but it's fucking amazing. I've heard some good things I just need to get past the main guy who's in it and he's the guy from the in between this movie I fucking is his face annoys me he's nothing he's from personally he's probably a really good actor just for some reason his face really bothers us and I'm like once I get past that I'll watch it because I've heard such good things about it I love the movie I introduced it to Anne's last year and he fucking loved it and that's not his style of movies he really enjoyed it but it's got the last thing from skins and she's fucking fantastic it she's absolutely brilliant um can't remember a name now because I feel bad but yeah um but sorry to disappoint people moonshine is still on the half half brick so no moonshine is up to date even though good will has been a nice call for us this evening seeing who has the best beard and hopefully hopefully that'll be fine thanks oh god and you get some people sticking up for us but then he's going on well this is the weirdest straight after and then where the game ends the movie begins that's not true and the next one is a it's just so i can't even say this a bright plamorous extravaganza no it's not bright either it's really dank and bungal you and the next one is anything that's possible you just got to believe in it and that's what this film is all about is i really wanted to believe in it well yes um so yes this was an interesting memory back down sorry interesting trip back down memory and i was trying to get the words all right um i remember watching this as a kid and being so excited and it was one of the ones i got from the white van i come up and got a video tape it was like uh super mario bro this was like oh this is going to be amazing wow you're getting the van i'm going to go for this they're like blue albanos in here i feel sorry for jake because you probably when like you're a lot younger enough so you probably didn't get the initial accent ah don't say that i went to the theater to see this movie you went to the theater you went to the theater yep the old sunblin cinema um i probably did not have to line up round the block yeah it was like it's straight on it wasn't it wasn't a Jurassic Park day or anything um no i like uh because basically when i was younger my mom used to work in a call center so she had to do like a evening shift sometimes and my dad's idea of like looking after me like oh no we need something to do and i lived like maybe a five-minute walk from like park lane and stuff where the cinema was roundabout so like that was the spend time together like you know like father-son bonding was going to see all of the worst stuff of the night is pretty much because it was like it was like this um richy rich i remember each movie i think i saw that on the weekend but like my dad tried to get me into mortal combat and street fighter but they wouldn't let us in so there was a couple of times we had to go see like alternate movies like that was how we saw richy rich which was springing awful um one more get Dennis the menace movie was the american denis with the blonde serenist devilson next door yes um so yeah like this was in on stargate as well the stargate movie i saw that in the theater around this era so it's just a cavalcade of weird sci-fi movies and i think like this categorize it is a sci-fi movie it's not a it's not a good sci-fi movie but it totally goes like that uh like down there with it but yeah like i don't think i liked it as a kid because i was like this isn't mario no this is weird there's ways the pipes ways the mushrooms where the cute little animals at it wasn't even this thing behind me like the super my real super show where it was like these guys hanging about in doing plumb and stuff and by the way guys elvira's a guest on the show at some point uh so you can get footage of like louis and vuis and vuis and vuis and vuis and vuis but yeah like it had like nothing from the video games that was recognizable in a good way um and yeah like i definitely didn't like it but i had like a 3d poster that i must have gotten a magazine where you had like little 3d glasses like dinosaur theme 3d glasses and you looked at this poster that's behind us in 3d and they're just pointing at you i think it had that tagline on about like um like the say no game or whatever it's a live action thrill ride i'm pretty sure that was on the poster i was when i was looking for the taglines earlier i was getting so confused because obviously you've got the animated one and you got this one and the animated tagline was so much better than this one please let's go how long did it freaking take though like that that should have been our mario movie like obviously it would have been a cartoon like a drawn cartoon but that should have been what we saw that there's reasons behind that it's because nintendo were like you this did so bad nintendo refused to hand over the license for so many 30 years the reviews that they were really funny about the licenses as well um but this one in particular so when the animated series came the animated film idea came along they liked it because the new you know they weren't gonna it wasn't gonna be a live action one they're like ah the the minions movies yeah no it wasn't really good though i'm not i can't like crap on the new movie it was really good i loved every second step i said i said i'd done sat a day when we were leaving the cinema i was like i need to go home and i need to watch the super mario brother and he's like oh i watch the i watch that movie with you and i was like yeah i mean the 90s one he was like yeah i don't want to watch that i was like you saw disappointed funny enough my wife did add the same response i was like oh watch the mario brothers movies right oh i was like they're carving when i'm not big front of the car and i went no no it's it's about huskins one to win i don't know watch that so i don't know what you go upstairs and watch this um i said never even heard of it i just showed her the trailer and she was just like what the fuck is that that's not really up did it really upset you because obviously this movie is not the end me and i wasn't an nintendo girl and didn't really disappoint your as kids to get that you were getting a lead up to a movie that you know a video game that is a playage and then you got this bear in mind you know how like you guys are always mentioned and like the trailer's ruined everything um now like we couldn't just watch the trailer then i might not have even seen a trailer this might just been like based on poster alone or like you know it's something in a magazine like them the radio times or something there was no guarantee you actually saw like an actual trailer before you saw something so i think this was sight unseen um but yeah it was weird for the 90s because there was no toy line because it was so bad there was just nothing afterwards so i think we all just forgot about his kids like we weren't like we weren't angry and shouting about stuff as kids like we like this is inaccurate well i was nowhere toil like where's my fucking polar boots this is what i was asking and from the movie finish i was like because we've done a few movies around this kind of like when we did Batman and so we've done it around this era and i was like did they intend on not doing toys beforehand because normally like toys is kind of like enrolled in the movie yeah did you get anything afterwards and he was like nah nothing came out after this and i was like oh i think it was just a bit of a shock because as i said when the mirror to the thought was gonna be this big colorful bright uh like say mario movie it's like it's probably the same failing i had as when i saw the masters of the universe movie yeah it's very similar to that if you like thought it takes vibes and like how it disappointed everyone um but they did have a toy line after the master universe because um i think because honestly man was a toy before actually the car in and stuff and everything else but um i remember watching it and thinking what like didn't really understand anything that was going on um i've got you were really scared when it first loaded up on the copy tape because it's like it's blurry it's like like blurry computerized things i bet you were like oh crap it's terrible the most of stuff i was used to being like video can from the center i was just waiting for someone to walk in front of the camera shot at our time but like it's it's blazing how much the rip-off Jurassic Park in that intro like can we do the the mr dia man it's like i guess we can do you know who's in the movie at the beginning no it's almost simpson oh that's not something else recently so i think he's in space jones as well oh really so i'll start with a really positive thing i found about the movie i thought it was really nice and really sweet that the used actual mario theme to start the movie yeah ends the horizon ends the possibility but it's not sorry yeah um no just do you know what this movie is inspired by is any of the only one has it movies please say it was the dinosaur's tv show battlefield this this was directly inspired by one of them is paul's favorite movie of all time the other is mine okay cool series of gorespursers no the other one is the blade runner or something like that from like the dystopian ship you got gorespursters let's take that one the second one was a wizard of holes all right they were inspired by them two movies and what talks when they watch the wizard of course yeah the directors were a husband and wife team and if you go and read any interview from bob hoskins denis hot bear around the evening john nagwazamo is an autobiography they talk about the shit show dynamic between these this husband and wife team who were literally trying to outdo each other every day to where that one would bring a script into where another one would bring another one in and it was just rewrite after rewrite shot deleted after shot taken and that this is why bob hoskins and john nagwazamo kind of got a bit of a drinking problem during this movie as all they did was get fucking hammered yeah you can't tell them when you look at the footage of that no they look stankable but don't that that's the sign of a good actor right there massively but they had a nickname for this juke this husband wife duo i'm gonna drop the sebum i'm really sorry it was the cunt in the cow wow can you imagine bob hoskins say on that i can well deus when the jukeman denis hot bear would drag him in on their drinking and like this isn't it just getting through the day let's go um but in sun bob hoskins sun after he like bob hoskins always said this is the worst thing he ever did he did it for he did it for reasons he thought we were gonna be what we were we thought we were getting and it really wasn't but his son did a whole like one man two after he died of like i understand he is all really dislike this movie and for good reason but can you just have a look at my dad's acting and tell me how amazing it is and he brought his dad's acting down as in it was sort i was reading all about it a day really interesting and when i watched the movie i was like fucking hot bollocksons is really fucking good in this uh-huh so let's try and get the plot of this movie as well so it's dead easy it's easy so basically because if you think about the mario brothers like if you think about the inside of things it makes sense like it's it's fun it's it's busy mario saving the princess that's that's basically the game this movie they try to copy that but instead the call the complex by saying a meteorite hittier think instead of killing the dinosaurs set them into an alternative universe where the tagline well not the tagline the voice over guys just goes goodbye dinosaurs and then like say the dinosaurs people that have evolved have used all of their world's resources and they want to get into our world's resources their world to use our resources and yep they've changed princess peach to princess daz which was choice which is the wrong the wrong princess she's not from mushroom king no and then like it's the meteorite still there and to get through this temporal void or the temple pass they need to get the connect the meteorite and make a whole because it's a super special meteorite yeah and the exit so yeah uh don't forget about the egg getting left in the orphanage yeah i was confused i was like why are you putting a crystal in a baby oh that's not a baby so oh no wait that's an egg um before we delve into the the the nitty gritty of this movie do you know who was meant to play mario and the wiji no so the mario was gonna be danny devito oh no no it's not with two guns to shoot um the second in the wiji this really really shocked me um it was tom hanks but listen hang me out listen hang me out so it was tom hanks but the studio said we don't want him and the reason they didn't want him is because at the time studio because tournor and hooch was such a big disappointment and joe versus the volcano was an absolute flop budge like money wise tom hanks was not touched by studios in that way at the time they didn't want him and then he goes into spilladellvia straight away and it's like oh he did okay he was fine guys he made the right choice in life i think yeah he really did but yeah it was tom hanks and danny devito was meant to be your mario and louis but yeah but that's quite an interesting one because my take at this movie is mario isn't the lead louis like a louis movie yeah imagine mario getting the girl at the end of this movie hey mario is a lot of women in this movie yeah mario wasn't doing too bad on the women's side i know when he has a nice dinner with his like a girlfriend and he's all like suited up and i'm like i'm watching a different movie now rather watch this movie than so then he gets him berther as well it's a cool smutchen's off her i like how i talk i like how i talk to that character while you're on the stream with me i was like that's big berther i was not so i was not confused and i just want to make one hop take as well because one of the things is the lizard people to come onto our world even though no one can get through but they managed to do it uh the pit steel women that i thought they were princess so like there was this crying we have of women of young ladies disappearing yes um just super fucked up when you think about it yeah massively so the jewel is iggy coop i mean koopa and smy coopa i wasn't going to remember the names i was not going down because the jewel is fidget stevens and rigid edson and fidget stevens is a fucking amir's an actor amir's director as well and i want i want to see a movie which is then too just then too but can i just see it because i've seen the actual characters from the game yeah can i just see as well we've we've we've seen sneaky people we've seen gyn sine bob what and past people whistling and no one norson these two people were as subtle as donner and nicole as they walked down the street trying to hide and hide we're like i can't even guys i remember that it was the most embarrassing thing i've ever seen i was like if anyone was walking down the street and like not norson that will get followed by these two creaks did he deserved to get storlin like i'm sorry i didn't give a fuck watch the movie watch the movie then to ask a fidget stevens is just fucking phenomenal he's been mentioned a few times on monsters um because he just eats every where he's such a good fucking actor i like how those get stolen anyway like she was getting followed by those guys stop to use the phone and then mario and to be g stand in the most creepiest way staring at her like girl over there then she walks over and she's like oh do you want the go out do you want to get in the van just to see a free puppies on this or free dvd's or just like yeah fine let's get in oh my that's happened she looks over as a guy she looks at the guy reading a peerbiscian women going missing and yeah going to be strange as well yeah because louie d i was smooth let's give it louie d was a smooth motherfucker so it's not it's not this capellis or anything you can trust the mario so she was the girlfriend at the time she was there tonight and it's only been in 2018 she's never spoke about this publicly she literally left the country to get away from everyone and it wasn't until 2018 she finally spoke about it can i kind of say that was probably the longest reach sami's getting to try and get death mentioned on a podcast just like i'll go on this tag and just so i can get the funeral of river phoenix in the death of the death of river phoenix i don't do funerals and she go back to the mushroom kingdom for eating yes i do like that the tripe as jake pointed out that they try to keep a lot of the names from the characters of the gms in throughout this film probably not in the way that we've seen them before or we ever want to see them again like no like it's not right in the just sort of pick random the most it just went through like the instruction booklet and pick random enemy names and like that that's fine because like i think like he is one of coopers like sons i guess or coopa links whatever they are but spike is just a regular enemy who throws spike balls at you like it i'm like there's like thousands of him on the level that doesn't have the whole film not just the names of the people it's like the mushroom kingdom so there's like bunkers all over the place that's just put tag and fungus around and like our two plumbers well actually two and plumbing work and yeah like it has to factor into the story that the entrance to like the thing is in like the sewer pipes of the city which i guess they did in the new one so this guy's sort of a dinosaur like person let's make everyone dinosaurs yeah fungus kind of reminded us of something and everything i can place it to is the creepy slidey stuff and poltergeist i guess when i was looking at i was like you remind me how can a fungus or something when you're just like poltergeist vibes going throughout the house to be fair this look like the achy getting egg fried rice um what oh wait i'm never gonna eat that again yeah like what do you think what do you think the thought process was by making this one of the most disgusting looking movies like of all time like it's virgin on like horror like you know like like the place you would set like a horror movie and grandma's and fucking whatever kind of gun it is the she's the oozy yeah i want to put that like the old lady that came in was just like oh i'm all sweet and it's like what you knew was foreshadowed that she was gonna be an absolute monster but but then guns it wasn't even like a gun was it like it was like an electronic road or something like that but yeah sorry just gonna say there's a whole thing about like evolution devolution stuff going on it's like what's going on i don't know about like coopers like oh you know if dinosaurs were allowed to evolve they would be me like a perfect organism and like he's constantly making himself all like muddy and stuff like he has that weird stuff on his hands in one scene like one what's even doing dirty and clean all at the same time yes and he's a gem full of his well yeah i love he's a manneurism stroke like he stands like like he's like talking like with his little t-rex on little dinosaur is fine could you imagine though trying to direct on his hopper in this movie just saying look no i know you've done some iconic movies like blue velvet and stuff like that and you've been a really bad guy you've scared a lot of kids and stuff like that now we want you to play a half human half dinosaur who's a germaphobe who loves playing in mode and then devolves and evolves things i will get his hopper and what's this went what the fuck just giving money just giving me money yeah yeah and he has to hang around with that lady who ended up in like harry potter and stuff and and all like which is like so different performance like an petunia and i got a kickass in this movie that's what i was gonna say her costumes were the costumes and all of it actually was so pretty phenomenal i went and had a guy here with a costume maker and it's not any other recognized yeah he like heard the suit was fucking on all the one with the spikes all over yeah but everyone had like some formation of spikes on their outfits it almost gave us a lot of ergoty vibes like the um the the pvc kind of looking but it wasn't it was very nice it was very much stuff of the 90s and stuff like that aspects to it um i loved try think of those things i love uh the animatronics you don't have to it can just be interesting um actually big up to the animatronics because let's be honest the CGI in this was terrible like when they went through the the pole it almost looked like a windows scream saver of the time where it was like more for nindrichs but the dinosaurs and everything um some of the dinosaurs animatronics was up there with Jurassic park i'll pull out on record and see it like you or she was adorable i wonder how they got a Yoshi like animatronics like do you think they did the find it like an old steelwork machine they're like ah and that was the budget of the movie that went on that it was working Yoshi i don't know how the um how the animatronics worked on that but i know i know there's a lot of polystrings involved with them um that's what i was reading early the animatronics side of things were really complicated it wasn't like when we did turtles and it was just you know yeah i had to head to deal with it was a whole like body in some circumstances and i was like that is too complicated like i don't like i don't think you can do live action Yoshi but like well like based on what the new at the time which was Super Mario World had only just came out and most of the other references are from Super Mario 3 um but yeah like what like it wasn't fun like i didn't like that he was chained up the whole movie and didn't do anything like that that's not what the kids want to say yeah i don't want to see him get stabbed either and bajunya stabbing in the danger that's such a fucking fried actually she got the hat no she got the horn alone treatment was dead she did that was such a little bit of hair was even part of it yeah it was so cool we are i think she survived being electrocuted and she turned into the bride of frankenstein and then she got turned into a fossil so her and i can't knock her down man i'm gonna keep that woman down but you almost felt like she was gonna be like a good guy because she was like kind of mentioned that she was friendly with a i was like what i call a peach book Daisy's mother and then she turned and flipped and went all get super bitch evil and stuff like that yeah but you know what you know it was actually pretty cool as well like the like the relationship that the stolen people had because one of them was like marios like is like date's friend or something wasn't it or like a cousin or something and like she was like looking after the group of kidnap people and trying to like stage a breakout those were actually like some well written like yeah like kidnap scenes like like you kind of you it's the weird thing about this movie you kind of get sucked in for like a few seconds and then they just totally ruin it with like something really bad like straight away like the goombas like the goombas elements that was done so well like the the lawyer scene where koutas pretend to be a lawyer that is great that is a great scene and isn't it like that's an interesting idea yeah because it's almost plays it out perfectly but it doesn't play out long enough it's all those two quick yeah and then Dennis Hopkins was back into like kinkoo but president kubermourds and it's just sore about shit like out there and it's like you can tell he's just like saying right i'm just like i'm gonna be he could have ever formed it in and just went play to dead but he went over the top and just chewed the scenery which oh he harmed it right up like whenever you're like i'm sure like isn't the part where he like grabs the holder like bob huscans and stuff with all like when he's in those scenes like i think whenever you see actors like grabbing onto each other like when it's like it's not necessary like you know like going online the scenes and they just want to be like out of the scene so bad but again so like that's just like make it end just cut this bit um but yeah like the so many like i wanted to have fun and there was fun elements that's Lee pointed out before the shoes the shoes were absolutely brilliant i love that idea not the let's see the technical use of this issues because i don't know like fan off if you it's gonna fire up in the air i don't know how it slowed you down as you're coming back down so it's like i wasn't like florting but and like if i was making this movie i probably wouldn't have been putting like bob huscans on like a wire and like shooting him across like with soundstitch it just sounds like a recipe for like an accident oh that um that sound stage that they used is reused in the crawl i don't know where yeah it was another film as well and i can't remember i got my head but it was a crawl please tell us it was judge jed because that this film just looked and felt like it's still on judge dred like down there like elements and like even the scenes it wasn't but i will find out what the movie is just going to talk that's fine but yeah like and how dumb is it that like like the make told is like some like sort of like fearless musician or something like a freedom like no i know freedom phy is like a rebellion singer or something like that very far did he got yeah the only thing that could make to like like they just gave him like big rocker billy hair and it's like that's told it's like what he's talking about like you don't have to call him told like you can be a different character it doesn't like add anything to it to be fair puritan door but they're just regarding the gumbas as well because it's head all stretched really well i was like a CGI run away from the movie okay what was the movie it was teenage root ninja turtles at least it was weird into something that made money shall we say um but the the deal of evolution i wanted to talk about this as well because the idea behind it i like the idea i just don't understand when they got turned into the gumbas and i thought the gumbas looked funny as fuck probably not that probably was supposed to be quite imposing but why did when they got de evolved did they all grow like about 10 foot big because normally everyone's like normal size and then when it's soon as it goes there because it's only the heads in it it's in the thing the de-evolved the head and the head shrinks and the grow about seven foot the design work of them is pretty impressive i quite like it i don't know why i just think there's something quite so grim pause and about them and i'm like oh you could come across really really creepy or really really funny it just depends on your facial expression i quite like this yeah watching it the other day that i realized that they were like actually dinosaurs and i think it might be because as a kid the quality wasn't as good and i thought they just had like like a diglet kind of head yeah it's like it's like i guess they're trying to do gumbas and koopa troopers but they're settled on like little like tiny dinosaur heads and then like the gumba head like the realistic gumba which nobody wanted to see i must have um i must have flaked out for a second i don't get the dancin part of it i want to like rock them all together is it just because they're really stupid yeah i think that's the thing with de-evolved the brain don't they because he evolves he and spikes brain at some point yeah and then it becomes super duper intelligent it's not gonna learn anything within two in man and then they become good yeah because the real eyes that koopa's wrong because they're not stupid the thing with koopa as well because he gets de-evolved to the drastic age at one point i thought oh this is going to be quite interesting and all you see is a little eye change and that's the last it's ever mentioned yeah like it takes a few like blasts to like make them a full on what you see to have i left here yes as looks he's gonna chew on ladies and so yes daniel mario and like you know what you showed the trailer for this like you put in one of our shorts and i don't think i probably like sat and watched it for a long time but like i could not believe that they show the actual koopa footage and it's like that's your big thing in the movie you only see it for like five seconds tops and the show in the trailer like one thing that's nothing left to see it's even in the 90s we're ruining movies well i don't think they didn't have any faith in this movie at all so when i got a trailer i was like we've got to show all the big shots or the big elements that we've done to try and entice them in and because even like the little in jokes and stuff like the yes like the bob arm as well like we all had those toys as kids they did not walk in a straight line the ones with the two legs that like rolled around each other it just would wander off and ran around with the directions and one of the best like most of the best fuses ever in the world like it was about this big and the last at half an hour so i liked i liked how everyone was terrified of it though because it was like a thermal deneter and star one like everyone's terrified and again this is probably just like a plot hall as well because the big one the big reveal is the fungus that's all around mushroom king is the old king that was the evolved to fungus it took me a long time to realize that but it was because when they say the gumbers got steve all they become stupid so turning their fungus you don't have any brain matter at all it was super intelligent he was blocked out the utilities and was basically killing well the only people because it was in charge he was helping mario and louis all the way through and like in a multitude of different ways and i think how can a fungus think like that was like because it's lance and rixon oh god was that the thing you and mario brothers that was the one why that was the biggest he was the one i thought out of all the things to ask about this film i had the last thing i'm asking is like in the fungus thing i didn't get it until the end and then he's like louis jes going oh he's been helping you the whole time i'm like how and how disgusting is the thing that they like talk to it's just like it it's an audience it's like a talking it's one of the worst like it's one of like the grossest special effects i think i've ever seen like it's worse than like body horror i'm sorry for this but it was just a fungal hemorrhoid oh wow so so so they have you been checked out by the donger doctor r but the amount of time that bob hoskins used is like a like his belt or his tool to fix something uh when they were flying down doing the the goonies routine going down the slide and being chased by a gumbus oh that's just so bad the so many it's so funny though when that whole is i want to all i can think of is i've been down the stairs on a blanket before because they had the amount of kind of like tilde open it's like it doesn't work out the way that you think it's going to in your head so that's going to come forward at some point but it was when they came out of the sewer and they're flying across the city on a CGI fucking dream and then they're on the strings and it's like it was so weird but it was so funny and it was fun i actually quite enjoyed that bit the bits are kind of like and all you're not meant to like because it's a kids film that's what i got very dark yeah but then louis jumps and he's like hey mario it's okay i'm floating jump with me mario and say where there you've got to hoot in the back you can't feel like you've got a fucking hook in your back i'm sorry you're a dick i'll be riding up in the crotch region that's fine that's fine so you'll be like when you jump and then mario jumps and gawko falls and the fungus serves them again by creating a trampoline and then mario then louis jus catches and i'm sorry john luago you're not that strong bob hoskins would kill you if you try to catch him back to the back it's so sad that they like to bob hoskins and jennifer did this movie for their children yeah it's like it's it's a tough one because there's like a long history of people being in kids movies and then it pain for like you know mansions or just like residuals for the rest of your life but it's always a role of the dice isn't it because you could end up in something awesome or you could end up in like this or like street fight or something and it's like it's like yeah fair enough you know like remember david cross like he did it out on the chipmunks movie for a payday and got lucky because that could have horribly bombed but for some reason it was decently popular and then everyone gets good pay days but this was one of those like bad like you know gambles refit what's his name the guy in um oh god i can't think of his name now no match robin refit that said he did win the soldier just because he's kids love Marvel movies and he was like he just wanted to be kind of a part of it and he was in win the soldier so that's a safe day i feel like Marvel movies yeah kid blunchered with uh thought she did it for kids as well yeah but i wish i wish i had that option just to do it for myself now just going can i do a kid movie i'll just be a helmet it's not a stuff deck but yeah yeah i'm sure they'll let me but yeah um then we come to like the fiesta between um where the world has started merging and the two get their outfits eventually don't know the best planet no it's kind of like the going the lock doesn't go and bob haskins mario was in the way do you i've got something it's gonna be great i didn't need a change to find out well yeah like this is this is like a symptom of like 90s and to be honest even it goes it goes further than that like into Marvel stuff like when they're not brave enough to just have them in the suits and it's like you know everyone wants to see this so we don't want it for like 20 minutes at the end like we want it for like the full movie because like that's the character um so i'm glad they didn't do that in the new animated one they're like yep that's a plumbing outfit they've just got stungarees you're looking at Lee right now that's what i'm trying to look like if Lee comes dressed up like that come to say come do my vibes i'll be like oh fuck what about that myself in power yeah um but they try to tie everything up nicely as well because like when uh Denis Hopper's Cooper goes into the real world goes on the merge he shoots the big bag gangster with the reagan and davil's information going sorry and he turns into her monkey so then it kills off the gangster element that's in the real world and then then the pull that something goes wrong now and then start going back to dino land or mushroom world where they were fucked before the go back door it's worrying that to turn that guy into a monkey in the crowd I'll just laugh like oh my god I know the mob element's gone but this doesn't come back so it's okay and he's not even he's not even a monkey and a movie that goes on about deevolution and stuff so much it's like that's an ape my friend that was a chimpanzee like you couldn't even get that right but no like you're right i'm just thinking now when you said dinosaur land because like that's kind of what mario world is you're on like dinosaur island is like did the mix everything up like did the mix up the mushroom kingdom with like oh this is like the next game is in dinosaur land or whatever and it just like like like Lee says it has brought the script from like big words that that i would have thought this is going to be a franchise we're going to make a movie that did because there's a post movie stinger like cliffhanger oh the cliffhanger fucking nothing yeah what was the cliffhanger oh i know you've just owned out did you so badly you missed them like did he comes back like dressed like sarah karno i saw that and he's like you're really clear it took three weeks to fuck everything off you're not gonna believe what's happened oh but did any of you see the end credits scene i can't remember possibly what happens no it's spikened um spikened after you oh yeah like super spike bros and stuff like that and i was like i want this so badly now because even as was like whoa like mario was doing the end credits things before marvell even knew what they were it's no it it absolutely was reserved for the worst movies back in the day and marvell somehow spun it into like no this is this is percite like yeah because there's one in street fight i think there's one in the master universe yeah because skeleton the world god damn here i am yeah you've got mac and me done a question mark yeah the godzilla one with the broad right godzilla there's like an egg that's left over the end that's not touching which turned into the cartoon godzilla by the way if anyone wants to know the deep lore the godzilla from the cartoon is that egg well i think just the 90s wanted something more or i don't know if the studio thought they were going to get something different or if if the directors just didn't have a clue what they were doing and just went oh i think it's what people wanted in the 90s and the thought we've got to try and make things realistic instead of what the video games which are the half-done of reasonably good trouble with this film like there is things where you can see they've took like special care trying to make a realistic version of what would have been there like the mushroom kingdom you wouldn't have giant mushrooms um you would just focus yeah um let you sound like a really fun guy there's details that put in that i think that it's like oh wow that's that's really clever of them unless it's like a mistake like at the beginning the egg hatching and daisy coming out they've hidden the baby's belly button with a bit of extra or like something i had because the baby wouldn't have a belly button because it wouldn't have an umbilical cord and it's like yeah oh they've actually thought about this so they have put thought in everything in the film it's just the delivery and i can't i can't pinpoint one thing in the film that makes it a bad film overall it's just a lot of things put together that don't fit together and i i can't i can't pinpoint what it is i think the best way i can describe it is people who people who aren't fans of the original content or are knowledgeable of the original content making something that they think or interpreting what they think they would like from that content so it's kind of like getting me to make say a doctor an episode of dr who i would make an episode of dr who i think i would enjoy not necessarily what the fans or the world wants to say or would you not take it seriously and be like well like it's dr who and he's got this like stupid giant screwdriver and the like that's that's maybe what they did or like oh this mario stuff's not serious that's like make something like make our own vision and like they're not actually like like like you say they don't know it well enough to even do a faithful version they're just i don't know it's it's it's still a fun film it's not it's not that real that's all i'll tell you i'll tell you what what is fun about it because like in the in the 90s like to make movies like you know 80s 90s whatever you had to actually try like there is actually camera work here there's like like we're saying there's costumes there's like you know physical sets like like hundreds of extras and stuff like like there is people who were trying it's just like like did the director's mess it up is the script like terrible but like around the there's people like that are actually trying like because it's their job and i think like the final scene like when i well not though like the final one where koopa like gets blown up or whatever like the energy on that set is actually good and i'm wondering like is that legit like was this about to be the cut from the movie and like this is the final scene everyone will almost free like everyone go wild and have a big party in the streets like like i love the energy at certain points and i think it's because everyone is actually there in that warehouse or whatever it is um like that's probably the highlight like the personal like touches and conversations but anytime there's like a monster or a special effect nearby it just like takes everything away from this was there any bad acting in this film no i can't think of anyone that did a bad job adam what did he i didn't feel like i think daisy's a bit rubbish like like was almost not really my style like he seemed like he doesn't worry it's half the time i can't pronounce john thingy's last name john like an example like his armor i think but did this launch his career no no not really i kind of set him back a few years yeah john was doing fine before this yeah because he's acting before that but he's not really like super big over here yeah like i was i was chatting before he had like a horrible like comedy sort of already got fingered thing called the pest like i guess it was more like um a poly shore type of character who's just the most annoying yeah just a movie where the main character is the most annoying person in the world yeah even though bio-dome's really funny but i still kind of start them all surviving yeah but how many years did it take them to get out of that because he's done some terrible stuff as well like i'll be honest like the spawn movie is trash but he takes a good part as the clown um like said i think he's korean he's starting getting revitalized when he started doing um like say some of the action movies where he was a bit popular but then he's becoming more established he was always known as like oh yeah there's that guy from that film that he played a part in type thing but he's a really good drag queen as well yes nice and to go back to what lee was saying like like when like saying that they were making this like oh they want to make a live action gritty version because that's what the thing audience is what like i don't know if any audience ever wanted like a kid-friendly sort of realistic action movie because like i can't think of any of those that are good but like can you imagine if this had like the energy of like a robo cup or something like maybe you maybe have to err on like a commando like a 15 certificate or something like you know something a bit less like a die-hard but can you imagine if it was like an action movie rather than like whatever this genre is i'm really- yeah well would it have been more successful if like if it had blurred and looked at it but instead of just turning a slime at the end is more like a blob man from robo-copic and hit by the van well also like i think you expected like a fight with a dinosaur like that's what it's leading up to the whole movie and you don't really get anything no i think with a lot of it and again it's a transitional period in in movies not just for this one because if you think about it you're going from the eighties like a lot of dark live action like movies like we've talked about like say never an in-story labyrinth and stuff like that then you're going from like action movies like robo cup and we've then we start moving into more colorful and more CGI films like Jurassic Park and stuff like that well to get there we had to go through say a masters universe mario brothers the crew like not like comic book adaptations with different type of dark tones and then trying to find the feet like straight fighter mortal combat because german become huge at these early 90s so people would try to get that franchise into this and like the CGI wasn't at the stage where we got sonic now like we would if we got the sonic back in the 90s fuck that would be terrifying that would be the scariest thing i've ever seen like i think the problem that ran into was like okay if you had to do this mario movie well you'd have to do it like who frame Roger Abbott where it's like and you know i'm not to say that i'm not to say that because of our past yeah no no i get what you mean like it should have been like mario in the real world like as a caruna something and that's the joke like oh you know he's getting up to trouble and stuff like that and like and all the characters have been let loose but that obviously costs a hell of a lot of money like too much money if you do a bad end up with tune world i don't get to like this hey there's nothing like we're tune worlds but if you think about as well the car owns that we're coming out at the time um whoever did it was like x-men and stuff wasn't it yeah but um but like car in movies like we'll have the Disney movies and then we had like the movies like Fernkully or all dogs go to heaven so it's not really like animation doesn't really fit what a mario thing because imagine if the mario would be like a little bit walks a little bit crazy um not quite too much like too much movements yeah uh yeah i think like i think like we've all sort of touched on the just made this at the wrong time yeah i don't know like think too much in your coins jig about uh like i kind of know i was going with that but like the violence and the or the robocop thing sorry yeah if it was a fun action movie yeah there is there's no violence at all in this movie is it and i don't know if that's like uh because of things like turtles had complaints from like parents about to be in violence nobody throws a punch or anything do they and bongons in the way do you get bogged out of the head before they're still dazy i think big birth grows them as well doesn't show but that's not it but they're going to birth this max i'm gonna kill yeah then who better buy you just turn and him in this line but half to turn him in with dinosaur first i think it would have been too much turning a man in this line and i didn't remember this in a 90s dance where like say when you dance a woman in the 90s your hands and face go all over it so it wasn't very god oh god yeah he has to get the thing he has to get the thing out of my cleavage is like oh i was so expect him when they're in that nightclub for a dance like like a choreographed dance with mario didn't really do anything that we just chucked on the crystal backwards and i'm like people did walk the dinosaur though it's like a good question for that it's a different world it's a different type of universe how's it like i say a song from this universe has transcended over there to do walk the dinosaur yeah and would they even call themselves dinosaurs or is that like no other one?

that's quite disrespectful for them really because i mean had no problem calling us mammals all the time did you see the movie posters on the walls and the attack of the mammal yeah yeah like the revenge of the mammal it's kind of what happened as wise coopers consent the design work of coopers was fantastic but i was like what do you think of his hair i loved his hair it's not looking at the eyes of a kid who likes mario i'm just like he does have three spikes on his head to be fair just i think the problem we've got now is donald trump's dismodeled self on president cooper so um i'm like if i'm an impresident prooper they'll go get one combination yeah i think anyone could pull that the cooper hair off though like i'm surprised that hasn't been surprised that was when people like comic con just walking around in the suit with that hair and then everyone's like i am really surprised there's not a lot of like cosplay people out there who are doing coop because he's an ideal like candidate for cosplay character yeah i don't think there's not many people that's seen this movie to be fair no it would just mean me pointing out them like say this is probably some more sex footage that mario's had in like probably 15 years since it came out it is interesting because it didn't really like when the new movie came out nobody was like like there was a few people talking about this movie and saying like it's a bit of a it's like i wouldn't say like an unsung gem but it's like like we were saying like there's some effort put into this like this doesn't just happen like you know people had to do really hard work to make this thing happen but yeah like i didn't see much of it renaissance like people going back to it like everyone's just happy to leave it like back in the days nobody's really got like fond memories or like when you mentioned masters of the universe all of a sudden everyone who's like talks about now is it oh yeah i love that movie i was like no he didn't that's bullshit no one loved the movie back then yeah i was actually scared of it and i'm scared to all like freak me the fuck yeah and i don't like as a kid i was like oh dolph Lundgren kind of creeps me out as well yeah like he even was my guy like i knew he man before i knew anything else and yeah that actually terrified me watching it so yeah they're just looking like i didn't like him i'm not gonna talk about it i can't talk about it i just mean because i love this stuff like this type this era of movies i'm starting to appreciate it because it like like like Paul's been saying it's like in the crossover period before CGI was good enough yeah i was trying but they kept on the kept on putting it in i missed a lot of these movies growing off the slot i don't know if those parts of it weren't like you they wanted to spend time with you and not putting it in front of the table i was really fucking spoiled because i got me all the time when it came down to what we watched i was like oh that's not what you're supposed to again sommie's gonna cry we've got to put the horse on but i don't like oh can we go to cinema like i know there's only one show in a super mario every night for the entire week because i know i was always interested in when you used to go out the old day of a day because you only used to have three or four films on and i was i'm sure it was two like you know like the one in something on the corner yeah i can remember you have two shorns that were kid friendly yeah possibly have an eight or a fifteen so yeah so i think um the time i went uh one time i was i went one sat on one sunday i saw three willy on one sat on the power ranges this this on the sunday the other time the movies that were released around the same time but was can you remember like this is just like a big memory i've got but like when i saw power ranges i felt like it was on a really small screen did they have like a tiny screen in there like for the worst movies that nobody wanted to watch it did but power ranges wasn't on the abc it was on the old empire cinema around the car and you know that's where i saw the turtles three that's why i thought it was a different place because yeah like we did have to go to a different place to watch power ranges because i think that was i can't remember but i think that was the level of like like they knew that was gonna be like bad like because i was so happy when i went to see power ranges and the only memory of it is coming out and me dad just being so disappointed that he had the sift through the two on the normal you know i mean like you know um you know when pokemon the first movie came out um one of my aunt ease drew the short straw of taking like all of us like me because and i just remember i face when like the first 15 20 minutes of the movie is no human talking this is all pokemon and then she was just asleep after that you can feel the disappointment though can't you i never really thought about like my parents like their kind of point of view was they're even something that i've just wanted to watch i've never really paid attention to that whereas there was the highs of like go to see a lapping king i like yeah exactly i remember coming out of hook and my mum was like absolutely buzzed on that one we went to see we went to see titles three of the empire and i remember having like a look it was like seats for adults with kids sitting on cushions okay that's how i remember it i tell my mum's after that so i think during the day the empire didn't need as much money as it did now with shores and stuff so i used to put the this great on just to make some extra money because i remember some of the not so big movies like the tom and jerry caroon which i love that i fucking love that because i was like either that was the thing i probably tell this story when i do the trick and episode with good when we talk about generations i mean clearly dad's a big tom and jerry fan and we went to see the tom and jerry at the empire and we were late so it's already started so i got sorry late for the show and so we walked around the empire the old abc to see what was on and it was star track generations so i managed to top me down in the lit tatters to see that because i was a big star trek for the movie fan i used to love it so i was like all of them so i was over the moon seeing generations on the big screen with kirk and pikar and i fucking loved it it was he dad sat there be like come do the look nikat mose argon we dad the star trek fan but he completely preferred the lamp in there yeah we preferred the the mouse the mouse and the cat but yes i actually would have loved it so let's let's have some for comedy value uh if you're going to rate this all amount of five mmm so we'll go we'll go super marioli uh what you're going to rate this out of five or somewhere between a three and three and a half right so that's quite high explain yourself i love this film it's a really good film like i said it's just like there's something about it where it's like i can't find anything wrong what the bad thing is because i can't point it out it's just i still enjoy the rest of the film right okay so it's a reason there's some plot holes but everything has plot holes now it is as we discover daily run to do yeah yeah it didn't stay longer than it needed to that's the credit i'll give it yes it is like breakneck at a certain point where he does like other over here now now i'm over here how does Luigi still managed to get the girl after the first day it's where it's like oh let's go this nice fancy Italian restaurant everyone's all dressed up and he's hoodie and t-shirt yeah and as a whole we now like if you want to walk away from this now well understand the day walk away from what you've just been a dinner well it's just in the night these were pressurized like say you had a fall over here um he was he was unlucky in love as well that was the whole little backstory for him i never found the right person he was like a little programmer now he was a bit of the programmer he was watching all throughout the whole parallel universe one and then he ended up being on it as well and it's like a full on explanation of it and he's like and i call him super marioli brothers yeah it's a bit like those musters isn't it where the end like people turn them seriously so we haven't brought up this there's a disgusting line in this film and i can't remember what it is there's a lot of disgusting lines all the way through the film it's coming to see something like no no girl forgets the first time they were licked by a lizard yeah he does he's got a lot of stuff going down that one oh baby good boy you got drunk and ad lived that life i know we'll keep that in just for lols it's big enough that we can get away but it's like literal oh what would you do what would you rate this one out of five um two stars one for each brother because their little like you know relationship together is actually good and like you know he's like like bob huskins is like surrogate father mario i think that dynamic hasn't really been played out much ever again i'm gonna say two and a half all right i did there's some moments in it that i did thoroughly enjoy i love bob huskins in this and i think bob huskins and denis hop's performances is really what's keeping it that's score where it is because i generally feel like the fucking trying yeah like they had so much put up against them but they still did their jobs that's just what good actors do like you pay an actor to be a character like whether or not they like the script or not i just i just feel like they did such a great job like bob huskins i mean i could watch him and i'm not now but i can watch him in any way i was going to be a secret um i'm trying to think because i don't think i give oh guys more kind and be rewind i don't think i give all guys more reading i think if i like if i want i'm like it's a whole star better than all guys more i think gazmo got a half a star i can't i give a full star so it's our star um now i give a gazmo half a star because the next white women it was more exploiting of the men in the sex industry so i think that was an interesting take but uh that's the only credit i'm gonna give all gazmo and i would probably say this was probably the second worst movie we have reviewed so i'll probably just give it i'll give it a star i give it a full star just for bob huskins and i think he takes it because i anything bob huskins does i did i love and he was in one of my favorite films in hupering and broadger rabbit and i'll never like do some for anything he does but yeah this was a hard watch i i found little joy in this movie but that's not what that's down to my personal tears that that i think but that's not that i'm not gonna slag it off um happy about this because the more bad reviews we do the further lord of the rings goes will be honest i'm not gonna say lord of rings is a bad movie i just i just i just don't know i just don't enjoy it i'll tell you what though like you guys with this whole like cough star system you've made this into a 10-point scale which flies in the face which flies in the face of the five star system yeah just so i've never gave a half star i don't think i have either until now so i'll drop it down i'll just say it too it's it's braver to be like because you can't give a half you can't say like yeah it's definitely a one star um i did find uh Rob Zombi's monsters more enjoyable so every talk about the ratings of the films that we watched um you are really going back over the bad ones aren't you just trying to flashbacks but we've not really reviewed that many films that we've like that with front of you i know what the terrify is again i can't give a star for i wouldn't give a start because i think it's like two unpleasant it's not because it's bad yeah okay yeah yeah until we do never end in story it's all the films that that mean that you think that i've ended up being the worst ones i've seen i know which which other ones are good one that you use did well i mean i mean some of them are upcoming as well so yeah the total ones was one of one of me highlights um i do enjoy straight fighter mortal kon back's gonna be entertaining this book uh because we're not gonna talk to the dailation i'm sorry we're kind of talking about that i'm not actually i'm not saying either i think sammy would love an island that's my prediction oh we're just gonna have a mama honestly i love doing movies like it's a direct sequel because the t-show khan at the end in the same way that the t is something at the end of this week with me what was the one that came out during lockdown was i a mama all khan back one that was just like that was a good that was a good idea i enjoyed that yeah um there's a sequel coming up and it's got a call over then as well yeah that's jenny kish king of the nerds the old ones are nothing like that all right okay something i'll probably do talk about mama all khan back as well because before they brought up the new movie they did like an in net short where they had like five minute like videos where it showed uh different fights or different characters gornsh that was really well done so you can find them and there was like there was like a secret pilot one where not unlike the mario brothers maybe they were like how can we make a real world version of baraka he's like an evil dentist who's changed his teeth in a fang's step oh yeah but they're like i would watch that so yes um i don't know what it is about what you lee do you have you got anything else you want to say about the movie you love no um i just want to point out this has been such a short podcast for an hour and a half in and the first half and another was x-men that's how little we have to see if i mario says it all really that's me fair though i'm not gonna like show no but very little stuff actually happens in the movie to talk about like the only things rather mentioned is somehow the dina world is all based in this one little city where the whole of the world is a desert so that that tracks um like no one thought to like move all broad and horizon is that because in mario three the second land is a desert and then the stop playing the game and they're like there's nothing faster and the other thing is somehow they've said that the meteorite duck destroyed the world hit brothe so yeah split it into all part of what is it pangina yeah with the giant continent we used to be oh yeah and we'll give a shout out to louis jes amazing attempted nalabi to get out of being arrested we're heads like the guys see the air tools and it's like look there's the two plumbers and he's like i'm not a plumber i'm just his apprentice that's gonna fly and let you run through it he's just the complex but how many plumbers must have got arrested on that as well because like need to arrest the plumbers which plumbers every plumber i was plumber saw that like niche in that world that nobody likes just plumbing and anything like that i didn't even know what a plumber was i mean the character mario very rarely does anything plumber later than going up and down pipes until you get to like some of the rpgs where the make jokes out of it like mario go fix the pipes that's true mario doesn't fix anything in his games but anyone like any kind of thing where americans took over like the cartoons and stuff they like hyper fixated on the plumbing and therefore he needs to like do jokes and actually carry a wrench around in the games and it's like we don't care about that doesn't it doesn't get too much plumbing in the film does he do he's like just the pipe is because the the ground's like filling with water and we'll die if he didn't like get rid of the water and that's it yeah because it doesn't carry that tool by the ramp and nothing you know it's because of the scapellies burst the water pipe so that it ruins the archaeological dig and then he like saves it and then that like makes the dinosaur portal over the near like scapellies were or necessary thing in the film it was like set up at the beginning like the with arrivals yeah the go to a georgia's like the scapellies have beat us to it again yeah no i like that though like how like the rundown like like you know on the ras like the scapellies don't get mentioned at all through the film apart from like oh it's their fault that the things happened and then he gets tended won't eat because it could have been anything let's be honest there was no rivalry the whole movie wasn't a mess already meard but yes okay the put that element in the new movie as well like there's like a rival like construction guy who's like actually from a different video game rec and crew and stuff so like with i don't know if they're meant to but in the new one they took elements from this one even the whole mario like lives in brooklyn gets like took through to the mushroom kingdom like you know what i mean like uh the referenced it whether it was intentional or this is just the only idea that script writers can come up with how to do mario i do think we should have christ dressed up as the wegia now we've got uh got blay as mario or so christ first is coming up yeah it's christ you better be in cosplay as the wegia and get something to dress up as gothpyn peach i've got a question which my first asking where do you think was the deal with the beach scene at the end what could the sequel have been if they've kept the green light for it yeah i was thinking that like what the hell are they thinking like so like i said she looked like sera conna like should been through like some war as if like more time had passed down there than up here i was gonna say it was three weeks yeah but yeah like where were they going with it like what like i can't even think like based on the games like it's just baoza comes back oh like are they gonna try and be like someone else is trying to take over the world down there i'll go old school i've dong econ from baoza in my event i'd like to think the mob try and break into the world and you meant that stunky con skippity and i dong econ and i dong econ and i dong econ and i dong econ wow that's so much better than anything they were gonna write i'll guarantee that see this is why hollywood needs to take notice of this podcast because we've got so many good ideas that could make their money so did you notice in like two of you guys all seen the new animated one i haven't not yet because like thinking of it now they also do the end of godzilla 98 thing with a yoshi egg at the end like it's the same after the credit scene oh really i think i think the were big fans of 90s movies the few we made that new secret references oh so many different things but i wouldn't say no i know if i'd like to say the card but i wouldn't be too offended if they did try make another live action mario or now i do think that they can probably make it interesting but again probably we're not the target audience for it anymore type thing it would be like quite child like but i think like i think the best thing they could do if you want to like honor this movies idea the best thing would be to do like a comic book that is the sequel to this because i think like that would give like that that takes the bad acting out of the equation like you can just draw it you can just write your your fan fiction dark hostel published it or whatever um and yeah you can have your super mario brothers meet the bob huskins brothers and stuff like that i would read it if they did like the whole fan fiction element because like you know how those those like realistic flintstones comics where it's like yeah like we're friend banya like in Vietnam oh my god that's all the little turtle shell helmets he's like we're coming to genocide banya like that's a line in the comic Jesus Christ that's so grim oh we could have like say the super smash brothers across all the way where mario starts not taking all those stuff fighting other technical characters and stuff like that but that's probably gonna have to be where the movies got some point because the sonic movies got across all with mario at some point yes so i think we've done well to discuss mario for over an hour now so but yes yeah i was looking forward to this one even though i wasn't looking forward to the movie the movie was a hard watch but it was interesting to talk about at least i can go on your phone now like i sit in a cinema and pay full attention to this sort of jacks me you couldn't move away oh i wasn't tiniis off the screen i was like if i if i miss anything or there's got me some nuance to this that i'm not getting no quite there um yes so so thank you everyone who's watched and put up with our shit for the last uh hour on mario there i hope that you've got a new appreciation of the super mario brothers and you and he's punished himself as well by going and watching the movie and prime anyone who wants to watch it it's went what in the fuck is that but then i i've decided because of how much i love the 80s blob movie i'm not doing that normal i'm not judging something on an 80s poster so i went and i watched it um it is a complete satire movie it is so fucking hilarious with a brilliant cast as well um i hope you's all tuning on just like if you don't just watch the movie like it's so much fun and um jake are you working when you'll be live this wednesday yes new time slot new channel same old podcast um yeah we're doing our our march ramble cast this wednesday we'll be doing the roundup of all the the horrible video game news that's happened this week um there's yeah there's been the the horrible toxic fandoms it's been going around this week not just in Ghostbusters but yeah um and then if anyone wants to learn more about the plumber himself mario i did a giant mario marathon where i went through the first handful of games and got up to world um so if you want to see where all the inspiration from this movie came from i think i pretty much covered it and stopped on the island of mario world where yoshi is and i think that's about where they got to do in the research um it's so much fun i've thoroughly enjoyed that string so much i might as well keep going now i'm part with through mario world so i'll keep going then i'll hit 64 and then i'll hit sunshine and cry for a while um yeah um still still on that no-t yet north twitch i wonder if lee's got anything before his head expands many more sizes than that but had kills and off but i know we've got well we should have an episode been putting in for so long certainly um and all as you said some of that we put out it's not gonna be everyone but we've always got something for someone that's where i like to put it um i'm really happy with how the blues world is up so done last week i still have lots of views like um that's on course to be one of our highest viewed episodes as well oh and that's the episode of late hunter mike yeah super jumpy just rip off um yes oh poily uh next week he brings it on himself now he's done he's done this multiple times this is all on me i like how he tell these crushes they didn't want these crushes off anything It was just because it leaves nothing to the imagination.
