Hi everyone and welcome to the Nerdy of North Podcast. It's the Nerdy Podcast that is hosted by the Nerds. I am one of your hosts Sam. And I am the other host Paul.

And tonight we are joined by the sexiest man in Nerdom. Nerdy Jesus himself, the beautiful Jake. Thanks here. And we are joined by Lee.

You never know who he's going to say when he owns a lot of it. It's like, who's he's not doing the day? No, it's interesting. The man kind of smiling is smiling.

So it's all up like saying, don't worry, in half-nose time, he'll have the fear, it's going to have the worst time. He's like, don't worry. I mean, he's in a sensation right now. So he all should be.

He'll be like, I'm the green man himself. I was going to be mean and put the video on, but I was going to say no. I can't do it. I'm just because, yeah, it was just too much.

Like, I think if anyone doesn't know, we were talking about the podcast tonight in the chat where we organise what we do. And I jotnly suggested that, oh, I probably come turns up painting all green tonight for the turtles episode. And they stupidly took my decision and decided to paint himself green to you. He had a bandana as well.

So which turtle were you Lee? Raphael, obviously. I'm the grumpy one. I'm giving you a full of smiles today.

Yes. So yes, I know. It's a company's kissing our asses already. Oh, yeah.

The man with so many names, he forgets what he's called most of the time. Yes. So how are you nerds? I hope he's all here.

Mmm, yeah. Sorry, he's barely alive. Oh. Yeah, it's the voice changes I apologise.

It's just been possessed by bazoo, it's a fine. It's a normal thing that we use to do. And ooze, yes. We're all down the news.

Yes. It's very fit naturally. And I have something very important to ask you. It's the first time of asking it of 2024.

And I'm not going to ask how you're doing because I genuinely don't care. No, I'll do. But we never actually get round to knowing. Because the most important thing is, what have you been watching this week?

What have you been watching this year now? Oh, yeah. I see that wasn't as cringy as normal. But I will try the cringe level for that one.

Yeah, what have you been watching? Just to say that, I forgot this is our first episode of 2024. Tis. Yeah, start with it.

Yeah, start with it. Start strong. Ninja style, Ninja power. Yes, this was one of Sammy's choices as well.

Does anything else? You had to see the sequel. Yes, so the first part of the sequel. Thank you for telling us where to find it, too.

It was a legal point as well. We've watched it the right way. Free with ads. So yes, no, Sammy's wants to know what we're being watching.

So what you've been watching me, you're dirty filthy pervert. Oh, you've got to be first. I can't remember. All of this week is now.

You are coming to the least in my life. You came to around 12 o'clock, one o'clock until you were getting good morning. And it's like, oh, it's getting about three o' o'clock. I need a fucking nap.

So it's so ugly. I know I definitely watch turtles two and three. And then I've been reading the last Ronin and what's the one after that where it's like set sort of in between? I don't know.

You're telling us you've been reading it. What? What? It's not in this week at the moment.

Yeah, I think it is. Seeped it through his skin. Ooh, this is too bubbly. You'll see us halfway through the podcast.

Oh, that's what it was, but it'll be too late then. It's a really sad ooh. Oh, she has got all the things to go along with today, which I'm not doing. I'm not doing accessories, man.

Yes. And if you can see just in the background, there is a super shred of just peering over Jake Schorler as well. We'll get to it. We'll get to it later.

I'll see you saying probably this time. I've even wrote it down. I can call it splinter. I'm reading it.

I'm reading it. I'm reading it. I'm reading it. What have you been watching, Jake?

Oh, I see you were terrible. Watching barely anything as in just bones, reruns of bones and a little bit of big bang theory. But I have been getting back into like picking up video games that I just left last year for ages and ages. I'm going to start playing Elden Ring again, which is a super hard open world game where everything tries to kill you.

But it's been good because obviously I've missed everyone talking about it now. So now I'm experiencing it on my own again. Nothing's really, I've forgotten all the spoilers. I'm still wandering into places that are totally new to me that I've never heard of and fighting for my life in a crappy little dungeon for no prize.

But I'm like, that was amazing. I've been trying to dig back into the Xbox because I stuck mostly PC last year, I would say. Or Switch. But now I'm like, yes, Xbox is back on the manual boys.

Yeah, yeah. I think it was like partially the year as well, like digging into Gears of War. I was just like, yes. That's like, I want to be in like an Xbox headspace at the moment.

I got a totally chance of playing as well. I was like, you filthy hobo player in Gears of War. I want to play that game because you forget how good that game is as well. Like even the sequels and that's all good.

The sequels still are better than the shoot notes. You know what I found today as well? My Gears of War 3, especially the game Xbox where it's like all red and black with like the Gears logo on it and stuff. I was like hell yeah.

This was a time. I got really jealous when I saw a lead player and I was like, I just, Gears of War 2 was like my favorite game of all time. And I was like, I just want to go and get 360 other garage. Oh, look at this.

I've been wanting to play with Leano. That's the thing. So yeah. Well, I've been watching trash TV as usual.

The creators have come back for season two and this week. We can't I rate again. Not yet. Because this year's ones, they're not as stupid as previous ones.

I do like the way the BBC do the show is because it's due three weeks three episodes a week. So the first episode introduced us to the gun to the people and the second episode you got a banishment. You got murder and it was great. And the third episode left on a cliffhanger.

So it was left on a like a spin board. Like spoils anyone who's going to watch it. The last episode on a like the vaults were even. That's never happened before in the trailer.

So it's like going on. We had one date to find out. It's like, no, I must find out now. And I've been watched the latest naked enough read that was quite entertaining.

I would have been happy. Be things. No big things. It was called cast away and I'm going to lose me.

Of this as well. So you'll have a bit of entertainment. Because normally, like me and JX watched a native and afraid and it's quite cool and it's not too staged. So it's it's done quite well.

And this year, the cast away one in the matter of being on an island where they've got basically nothing. Like no, nothing. No, no, nothing. No, no, no, no, no knives anything.

And they've literally got to find and make everything. But literally the stuff they find on the island. It's so staged. It's not even funny.

It's like, oh, this guy called Bullock is a complete arsehole, but he's a pilot and they find a rep of a plane. Yeah. So I start taking the part out and building like things to make fires because he knew I was what I think. And I'm like this iron wool there and iron wool is notorious to go rusty within seconds of being out in the open.

So this is mainly if it doesn't like no, it's it's very not. So it's like anything the need when they walk along, it's like, oh, go to walk, find something we need. And then there's like plastic bottles. All these plastic bottles have washed up and shorts and keep watering and stuff like that.

It's so obviously staged that I just follow a little bit. Yeah. Cause there was no wrong with letting them like take like, oh, this is my favorite knife or like, oh, I've brought like some kind of like container or something like there's now wrong with them have like one thing and then, you know, figuring the rest out. Cause we know it sucks.

Like not having any shelter to sleep in. It's like the worst thing for humans. But I don't care if the knife like when they come in. I think I did free me out this this on this one was on a beach.

The sun flies literally the bug bites. It's just like flies, but live on sounds. But like if any type of flesh, then you're sleeping at bite. So the bug bites this poor woman shot bug bites all over her face, all over us, all over like literally that was like any type of touch of skin would be bleeding.

And it was just like, oh, so they're not comfortable. It's just there was certain bits where there was overly staged to get them through. Yeah. I mean, I think my favorite part of when someone like goes like I've got an idea and then they'll go off and see something really stupid and then come back like like, like some guy was like, I'm going to try and eat a cactus and when he went together, they just got like stoked to fuck.

I can't use my hands. I was just going on called Gary and he was like, he's called himself, he's like an ultimate scrounger type thing. He had something on his back about capitalism being shit and that he was going to consume because he would consume everything and he found a rotten like dead carcass and no one would eat this partner because it was like, at least so, and he was like, I'm going to eat this food. I'm eating for three years like I know if you'll be hungry, but there was no fun.

I'd rather eat dirt and eat this rotten car. I'm going to eat it. I'll be fine. Two days later, he was getting ever back that with dysentery.

Ah, what a look. Yeah, it's stupid because the worst thing is when you're like on these trips, the whole we'll see there's two things that will get you one of your cons to be a constipated because we can't shit. You've got bummed up and you can't do anything. Or if you get diarrhea, because with the bean in the outback and the knorkeling water and stuff, I got it.

If you get diarrhea, you die. Oh. So, Jesus. I'm taking things out and need of free it.

You learn something new guys there on a dirty up-not-pulchast. It's not free. It's okay. The camera people will save them.

Yes. What you've been watching, Sammy? Right. A shit ton.

But what I want to do first is I have a statement to read out to you. Because it's been wrong. It's a lot of glue. I'm going to put my glasses on for this as well so I can read my statement.

I've been signed it too. Sorry. Right. This is a statement of reduction.

So, it's come to my attention that I recently made a very bold statement on an episode of Nerdy Up North and I feel like I need to clear something up. Six months ago, six months ago, the guy got together and we talked about the highly hilarious Always Sunny. I stupidly made a statement that this show does not have swear words in it. Yeah.

I wanted to call you. Yeah. After another watch though, after many watches, by the way, I am here to redact that statement. It's very not fucking true.

This has eaten me up for some time. I can make such a statement. My husband has berated me countless amount of times asking do I actually pay attention when I'm watching and I am here to apologize. I do get things wrong from time to time.

But this one has really booked me off. So, I am sorry. Sign Sammy. Pleasure.

You know what? Yeah. It was really fucking bothering us. I heard me south back and I went, you are watching this right now.

This is what I'm watching right now is Always Sunny. And there is an episode where they say a cunt at least five times in a sec. Yeah. Yeah.

That's the thing. And again, the viewers that watch our podcast are watches for the first time I've watched us from day one. They will know we are not fucking experts at what we talk about. We already talk about toys and what we love about.

We make so many mistakes on this podcast. And again, I love us for it. One thing is, well, I'll make shit up on this podcast that I don't even, that's not even true, just because I think it sounds good. And sometimes I'll go back.

I've already said that. People believe this. So I really said this, but I heard it back in. We have a brilliant new intro video that is on our YouTube channel.

Anyone would like to go and watch it. It's even on there. I fucking hear that it's on there because I thought that was something I could like hide in the background. It'll never be seen again.

And now I have to promote this intro video that has the most stupid thing. I have said some stupid things that one really, really got to us. Oh, yeah. I just wanted to extend my apologies and redact my statement.

So it was never said. You can't hide anything from Joe. You will edit it together. I have learned my lesson.

So part of it was sunny because I've been really sick this week. I have watched so much. So I've watched the new Hunger Games that came out last year. I'm pretending I knew there was a new Hunger Games.

And then I've seen it to watch the other Hunger Games after it. I bought this shit out Anthony with them the other day because I read the books last year. So I had to tell them all the differences between the books and the movies as we've gone along. We watched the menu.

And that was interesting. Well, on Friday night, we watched a knock at the calendar. With the M9 channel and film with the paper tista. Oh, really fucking shit.

That movie. Lee, how loud is your keyboard? I'm sorry. I've tried it.

No, no, no, Lee. Yes. It's like it's something bricks into something. Sorry.

You wouldn't want to even learn how to take away. He's looking at which it was canisters empty. It was really, really interesting. David Tista is a fucking brilliant actor.

He's the only good wrestler actor I think that we've had so far. We're reading up about him afterwards and he says he went to act in school after guardians because the one thing he didn't want was to be typecast. We wanted to act in M9 Shyamalan. Sorry, his name came up on a call sheet and went, that would be really fucking interesting.

Like to see if he can, because the character he plays Jacob is really sensitive and can you make this big root of a man be as sensitive? And especially with the topic of the film as well, it was really fucking good. I really thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very intense.

I like M9 movies more often than not. Yeah. It was just really good. And we watched everything everywhere all at once.

I don't know if I mentioned that in the last two. Yeah, we talked about nothing on the. Yeah, because it was just before New Year was no too bad. So yeah, I've watched a lot of shipping.

I've also watched all of it. And had to relive what I said. And again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, each city. Just do what I do and write content and be like, well, what I meant was the best jokes on swear related.

Those are the memorable ones. You get into the season, you realize, oh, it's where a lot now. We're just to see as well. Big thank you to Jor for putting together a few like, say little trailers, little best of little clips as well.

If you haven't checked out, it is quite funny on the front page in the video of North YouTube channel. Not yet. Check it out after the podcast. He's a saint.

He's a saint is Joe. But I do like it. How he just now our in on anything that Sonya said and it was kind of like picked on it. And you watch it through.

I believe Sonya is picked on all the way through that. I really love it for you. Or maybe she's just the funniest one. Which can be quite true.

Don't feel bad. Don't feel bad for my stupid mistakes. Do not change that video. It was brilliant.

Yes. I have remembered one of you watching, by the way, sorry. When you mentioned Rissel Actors, I had to quickly look and see what the new John Cena film was. With your giant keyboard.

Yeah, sorry. So freelance. So that freelance. That's just came on Amazon with John Cena in.

Oh, right. Excellent guys. Really good film. Yeah.

It's not going to win any awards, but it's a really fun film. And Donna made his watch. Just named it in chat. I've already forgot it.

Leave the world behind. All right. Amazing. All the way through until the end.

So don't watch it to the end guys. Just take this. Just take this. Just take this.

Just do what baby's mom tells it. Just turn the movies off all at the end. Everyone is happy. So just before we do get started and talk about the ooze.

Do you want to say a big thank you to the Treg and boys and it's strong for 2024 months. There's a coming back strong tomorrow and the ramble cast guys will be back soon as well. So a lot of exciting stuff coming forward for nearly North. So, Sammy, do you want to say it?

I will certainly do for the first time in 2024. Everything discusses today's opinions and our opinions alone. If you'd like to discuss anything from today's episode, please come and join us on the Facebook page, Discord or the comment section where we can have an discussion. What we won't have though is anyone coming for us and tell us our opinions wrong.

We can all agree to disagree in fandom. in fandom so let's give it fun give it kind give it toxic behaviour out of notism. I was going to say I was going to say I was going to say I was going to set Donna and Chris on years if you do. So as we've said throughout this episode at the start and this is Sammy's pick she got excited when we did the first titles episode and so we said we'll do like we'll call back for the first episode for the year we'll do the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to the secret of the news.

Long title. Yeah 1991 we're going back to the 90s we're in the era. I mean I was only three years old. I was definitely watching these on video tips after the fact.

Can I give you the taglines? Because I have the taglines I love fucking taglines right you ready? So one of them is Kawabunga it's a turtle movie. My favourite is and I really wish I knew this before I started doing the TikTok videos back by bodacious demand.

That was my my demands in that bodacious list. Honestly it still doesn't make the Batman one that's so favourite but they weren't pretty good especially the Kawabunga it's a turtles movie. I can tell that. I didn't really want to give up in the night now you want like that's pretty quick after the first turtles movie you can't really so it's like pretty quick turnaround there.

Well I don't think you too as well didn't it? Yeah so the holding quite fast maybe the new suits were kind of all apart so they're like quick but yeah like I don't know if this is probably getting ahead slightly but there wasn't that many new scenes and places in this movie so I kind of get the feeling they just like reopened the set and we're like let's just keep going keep it rolling. I know there was like little differences to the suits like if you're looking at the face with a little like circles but a little lesions, little marks of the performance. Yeah I never liked that as a kid like I don't know why.

Like because they made the toys that had that on didn't they like after the first run. In the first one they had the control of the faces from like off the screen. It was probably a student. But then they built it.

But then they built it into the masks in the second one. Yeah that's why the mouths you know it's a mouths moving quite a lot just because I want to focus on all this new technology. I did notice in like the opening scene there's a lot of like shots where it's zoomed in on the faces. It's like yeah which showing off the hence and workshops.

That's scary like no eyes. I didn't notice it of the words. So I was looking. I thought the first time watching that the first time I watched the first turtles was on a copy DVD.

I did actually see this one at the cinema. I don't know. Nice. With you guys did you see it?

I know with Jig and maybe in youngsters. The Tills one was my first ever movie at cinema. Alright. I was doing I'm listening when to see this as well.

You said you have been a bit of an asshole while you were there too. Yep. I was running out of like a wild child. He was being a dream shouting at me.

He was a teeny-ish-mute ninja. How about a dude? Yeah. So Jake you saw this one on VHS for the first.

Well if you were three. Yeah I had the mother of all copied video tapes that had ghostbusters too and turtles too on a dumbbell vale. And I loved that copied video tape. So it must have been took off the TV at that point.

Like it must have been like about five or six maybe because it took a good while before this stuff would have been on TV wouldn't it? To record? Oh yeah. So like there's a lot of movies that kind of like my favorite.

I like dictated by I did somebody tape it for me. You know I didn't really have it. So I always liked ghostbusters too a little bit more just because it was the only one I had. Even though it was like scary as hell.

I mean you talked about that yesterday when we were in the metal look looking in here and being at all the DVDs and stuff. What's in? Can you remember the VHS's because I think the photos of some of these VHS like she boxes were like that didn't look like that back in the day. But we also can you remember that old boot my ones up used to tend to be books.

And then he's got one book brought in where each number was on this. This was on this copy and then you'll take to find it. You know all your books here. I want to watch ghostbusters too.

So you go down and listen to find it. It's on tip number 105. So would you bring me number seven demolition? When the like leather like looking boots and like burgundy because I'm sure.

Just totally plastic though. Yeah. Oh yeah. I have oh yeah there was no leather in the box.

The Lord of the Rings one of the extended versions was like that. Like back when it first came out. I'm positive that I don't have it in my collection because somebody else got to keep it. I do remember it being that kind of green color from the green and the burgundy.

Yeah. Did anyone have any of those like double video cassette boxes as well? It was literally just like a double wide like giant thing that would like close together if you had like two tips or something. I think I had Wallace and Gromit like two of the movies and it came in like a massive case because it was like the wrong trousers and the clothes shave together at last.

I remember when a video recorder has changed a long play and short short play as well. That was a game changer for us pirates as well. Because we could get like four hours in something. You can turn two hours of video to get into four hours and it was like yes.

That's the whole wrestling. Paul wrestling paper view on one video tape finally. And I actually have a bunch of video tapes that Michaela gave us when she moved house and there's like all the Disney ones in there. So all the original Disney ones from the 90s but there's also my wrestling tapes are in there too.

Nice. And one of them is my favorite favorite event of all time is backlash 2000 and it's still there and I just remember being up recording that shit all night till four o'clock in the morning on channel four it was amazing. Did you try and skip the adverts? I'd just let them ride.

I'd let them ride Jake in the end. It's good because when you watch it back like you know yours lately like yes because I think I think when I got Wrestlemania 17 I managed to class that sorry to catch that amazing like football like calling advert where it's like got any leeches for this. Like I managed to catch that like after Wrestlemania I was like this is the best slice of the time period. That's just jogged in memory.

I don't know whether I should tell it because literally it gets probably going to be pretty good. I don't know if I don't give a fuck about that. But basically as I used to record all the paper views when it comes to the wrestling they would have been school days going to Sunday night. So I used to record it on the Sunday night, go to school on the Monday get all excited and get home and watch it on the Monday night when I got in.

So I was playing it and it was the time I caught my brother out. So basically I pressed record and went about and around one o'clock and I say the channel changed to the 10 minute previews. Then you would have been the most popular guy in school if you've got the rest of the tip with the 10 minute preview in the book. Oh fuck that.

I was so pissed I missed the wrestling. I grasped them up instantly. I wouldn't be dadoing. This is not on.

I missed my wrestling cause of this. So yeah. Did you have the evidence? I don't think I'm ready to put in.

Watch this. Exciting. I was that much of a dick but I was so angry because of it. I missed the wrestling that night.

Yes. Sorry about that. That's the best kind of story. Yeah.

But yeah, so tells. So watching this movie again for the first time yesterday I think we all did from Sam who watched it today after we stuffed our face on Peter's. It was the right idea to watch it after that cause whoever made this movie, the first two or three minutes of this movie is just a pizza fetch. It is literally active.

Anything I've ever seen for food is just literally these people walking around chop like eating pizza in the most weirdest way of all. But not one person just taking a slice and having a bite. There was one guy who had this massive slice about this big and he was trying to force it into his face. I was like, what's he doing?

It was if they were told to act like it was really hot because some of them were just like, it's like, what's happening? I've actually wrote nordes that went on just like kind of like either chocolate points or something. I wonder asked and I've literally wrote literally everyone eating pizza in the opening. One thing that wasn't about is ninjas.

Four giant turtles running in off the street in a brightly lit room jumping into the air in front of about 20 people. Very ninja like. And what was with the outfits on those bad guys, they were all dressed like like like little lads who were like the school dads for the first time and got the first show. Wearing like the nylon masks as well.

The one even by the club was like, like, when he was like, wearing socks on the head. The school dance with the song. What were they doing? I did go in Sunday.

A different time back then. But yeah, it was an interesting start. But one thing I, when you think about the turtles, you think like when you're about the cartoons, like the movies are came out later and stuff, everything's really colourful and really bright and really fun. They give you a look back even the first titles in this one.

This is a really dark movie. All the tones and all the colours are used are very, very black and very, very torn down. There's not very, it gives a lot of feelings like old turtles, comic as well. I think that's why, like me personally, I always gravitate and love the original two movies because it has that kind of dirty grungy feel as well.

And I think the later ones that came out, it's kind of lost that appeal a little way. Yeah. What I read when I was reading up on this today was that the Coo creators, and I'm really sorry, I'm blanking on the names right now, but that's what they wanted for this one. They said that there was an opportunity, they wanted to stick to the comic books style of things and story as well.

So they didn't want to bring Shredder, yes, into it. I got that right. Yeah, Shredder. Yeah.

They said they had enough in their wheelhouse to like, you know, we can do more. And they wanted to bring the dirty gritty back. And I think that's the only part that they actually took from their notes, just the dirty, gritty side of things and not go down the comic big road. It was aliens, didn't it?

That is Ninja Turtles. It's full of aliens in the comics. Well, like it's weird because as a kid, I wanted Crang, I think. Like, you know, like that would have made sense to my kid brain, but obviously going like way away from that kind of thing.

Like how in that type of world, it would have been like a complete mindful to start this little brain thing running around. It would have been interesting to say. Would have been a good puppet, hopefully. Yes.

Jim Henson made Crang. Let's talk about the puppets as well. He wasn't making anything because he died during this. Oh, no.

So it's dedicated to Jim Henson at the beginning. The Grim Reaper is struggling again. But yeah. But let's talk about the puppets as well because they made some decisions for this movie.

And I don't know if you guys know or have any knowledge about this. Like, why did the change, like, where did the go with the characters that they went? Bebob and Rocksteady is the obvious choice that they would have picked. But it was kind of like the made up new characters for us.

I don't know if it was down to rights or the thought like a rhino and water wouldn't work. Yeah, it's like it's weird because like I remember as a kid not like in like the names are kind of like unpronounceable like like Toka and Razr or something like that. And I remember thinking like that's a bad idea first of all, giving them like names nobody's gonna like remember. Yeah, you're right.

Like, but I suppose like I don't think Bebob and Rocksteady were in the early comic run from what I remember. They kind of go straight to like those rock people and aliens and like the triceratops people and stuff like that, don't they? Actually, I think I'm pretty sure in the second arc the totals get transported to like another planet and it's like right okay this is real comic books were immediately going straight off the rails. No, definitely.

But I think if the work was like I said they went down the mutant chain route with this one. It would have made sense to go with like the characters that people were more familiar with. But I don't know whether it was like a ploy to try and sell more action figures because that's what the word doing at the time it was like anything that would make a film or movie wise it was a sell the merchandise. I had a Toka action figure the one that transformed it like the terra thing and then I didn't like the big one.

I don't want to diss I say that the wrong choice because like physically when you're saying one screen they're looking amazing and the very very so much fun when on screen. But I always felt a little bit flat as a kid because you wanted bebop and rock study and you thought would have been like old my thing. And again with the doctor the guy who was a professor Jordan I think. David Warner who was back to Stockton like why did they change the name like everything about him was back to Stockton and I was like great this tournament or a fucking fly.

But we've never had a flat like we've never had the back to Stockman fly like the years and the years and the years they keep putting him in every like new movie and reboot and they never pull the trigger on the fly. Like I just I don't understand it because it's one of the most iconic things that every kid remembers. It was a Boston like every video game as well. It was something as well though I love back to Stockton I looked at it and I always used to give us the like the little call back to Jeff Gold book in the fly as well.

Do you know I think that's what maybe you'll stop them is the fact that it's body more of a kid so when I'm going for like this one occasion yeah it's body horror and it's going from one person to a fly and we've seen how that transformation has happened before and it's not pretty. It's a bit different to Jeff Gold and sitting on someone's arm and melting. Yeah Baxter it was like that was his come up and for messing around with mutant so much they're like now you are a mutant and the worst kind of mutant. Do you feel like this movie missed not having Kiazi Jones in as well because he like kind of brought a bit of a relief in the first one and like I kind of like the character and not having them there it kind of felt like it was missing something.

They're like replaced him with Kino was it on something. Yeah with Ernie Reyes Jr who played Kiro and he was Donatello's stunt double in the first movie. Yeah I think you guys mentioned that and I didn't know. I generally thought he was Donatello's voice if you heard him talk he sounds like one of the turtles and I was like I was like closing my eyes going could could he possibly do being what they said when I read about him they were saying like they loved him so much love his energy loved all the positivity because what happens when you don't give positivity the first movie you're not invited back for the second one which is what happened to April O'Neill.

Yeah she shit on the first one so much they didn't invite her back for the second one and he apparently was like this ray of sunshine and they wanted to give him his own character within this universe and that's why you get him. But I thought that was lovely. I thought it was an audition. Yeah I think it worked as well because normally when you're a kid you like reject like the the children character don't you when you're like yeah oh this is the one they've put in for the kids but I always liked him as a guy who's more interested than Kasey Jones to me as a child I think but then as an adult and like Kasey Jones was awesome and that movie.

Yeah. I love Kasey Jones. I was I played like even I was a kid and Kasey Jones was like a mad scar and stuff so I was like this guy's mid. I've wrote him one of my notes.

Is Kevin Clash Kevin Nash? Have they just gotten their names wrong? Oh no wait that's Elmo. Kevin Nash actually wrote that down.

He is just for a little bit. Well I knew that because Jake had mentioned something about Kevin Nash and I was waiting for his name to pop up. But then I said Kevin Clash and I was like how did he change his name? And I was like oh no hang on that's Elmo.

That's one of the air turtles voices. Right okay because they're not in the Jim Henson connection as well so yeah. Oh sorry he's not a turtle he's splinter. That's what he is.

Right. Sorry. No I'm sorry. I do love this movie as well.

It is fun. It's a little bit different to the first one. The first one is a little bit more action-packed but what I do like about this is to get the person out these other turtles a little bit better than this one than the first one. Because Donatello is not the goofball and stupid as he is in the first one.

He actually has a bit of sense and like as I say the tech guy now. The Mika's a Liam one who can't get like the cat-phriss is right. So the little bird. And the voices were brilliant and O'Carri Feldman was not asked to return to come back.

Well what the fuck is going on? I'm gonna have El's voice in this movie. What the fuck was that choice? It was just an arm we could be more.

Oh, that was just so bad. It was like the worst impression of a mob boss. Yeah. My guy El's voice.

I think you would find the worst impression of a mob boss is Jack Nicholson's The Joker but we'll get there one day. They're one day. I just couldn't. I even wrote What Is With The Rass Voice.

It was the minute you started talking. It was trying to do like a Brooklyn type of accent. Like ooh, it was like what? It might be because he was too scary in the first one.

So maybe that to like Nick and Tomo goofy. I thought he kind of worked more in the first one. I wasn't. I love the new suits.

I love the face. I love the fact that you've got a bit more interaction with the eyes. And they use that quite a lot in the audience. And seeing especially when Donatello was staring directly at the fucking camera.

It looked like that creeps me out. And I don't like when people break the fourth wall and just look at the camera. And Michael Jay Fox is a brilliant one in back in the future too. And it freaks us out.

And what's the thing? I'm just like I can't actually find him out here. No. That's why they just start staring at her face and look at me.

I'll always look. I'll always look past you. And what really got us though was the neck. It's not going to get you to see.

Not could he's been this. That's fine. I really couldn't get away from the neck area. No, you could see the like overlap.

Couldn't you like the body suit. Yeah, the way it was coming in here and the wrinkles in the neck. But I thought yeah, like yes, the wood it's good to have like movement in the wood. Have something there, but it just something that just didn't fit right when you can see the underneath of the jawline.

I have to say give them credit where it's due. That's the goal of full like suits as well. Because even like the body suits had the muscle definition that didn't move when the flexor moved it was kind of like if you look back the legs and like how the lines in but then if it got the legs crossed it's like the muscles wouldn't react or move that way. But again, that if you've got a nitpick and stuff that like but only other way that could have done it would have been CGI and wouldn't have been this fun.

Probably because I'm watching on like a 4k Italian and like everything is like super duper in four is like everything. It'll probably look better in the 90s when you could see any other stuff. Only thing out of the turtles as well, all the turtles that we got, the one that we lost a little bit in this movie though was Leo. We didn't yeah, he kind of just fell to the background and didn't really get the same time of impact as we did in the first one because I think that's probably because he's the least funny one.

Like he's got to be the con-collected leader. Hasn't he and everyone else is all like whoa. That's the first one we did as well. No, no, rough is always just like anti-social and these establishment, the one that people kind of relate to.

Yeah, they're like, I guess they always play a rafters like technically he's like the strongest and like best fight and toe. Well, that doesn't make a great leader. We need rough to be like he is to progress the plot. Like in the first one he buggers off and shit happens in this one.

He does exactly the same again. It is in essence the same kind of story except from Split it doesn't get kidnapped this time. It makes a weird cameo towards the end when the old man would get like like get cische-scobabbed and instead of doing it. We had to learn to use a porno.

It's in his toy. Paul is just about to say sorry. Use his toy accessory. Thank you Jake.

Oh bless you. I love the way I mean Jake's in the same mind field at the time as well. But yeah, a little red but an arrow. Sorry.

You're going to go and grab it as well. Do you have it? I've got it there but it'll probably knock all the way the terms. Yeah, don't touch it.

That's what I was worried about. I have seen what you do with your collection but it moves. So that's the turtles collection there all the figures. Oh, that's so cool.

So yeah, but yeah, split in there with his own eyes. Hiding the iron rock study and be about the moment. So. Oh, you're getting comfort.

Yeah, like Splinter was weird in this one. It was in the public. Looked like it had changed quite a bit because it was less like ratty. He was a bit more like a dog.

He's tidy. Yeah, he's a lot tidier. I wonder if that's just down to his living. Like you've been living because that's we've got a new upgraded April.

We also got an upgraded April department. Yes. That looked a lot cleaner. So maybe just these environments.

Okay, the old one in the last film because like the old one burned down. Remember the foot clan burnt down the antique store. Yeah, they're good. Continue with it.

Yeah. Only the thing is all with Splinter. This one, did anyone used to watch the old BBC store? Like five things in it where the seminar in the pit where I used to grant which wishes.

Splinter used to recognize it. Like it looked like from from that because that's what used to like come out and just pop out and just do random wishes for people. Yeah, he just unlocked a memory. But splinter used to like he just popped up and the thing is what I loved.

I love about this one is normally with bad guys that go off after the second one. We need to get bigger just for bigger sake. Shredder's got a little bit of reflection and I think it's very understated and done so well. He's like he's not blaming everyone else.

Like he blames the foot clan field and what he actually says I failed. So he's not doing like the big enable because he's big enable. It's because he feels he needs to progress because he's not good enough and I quite like that. As a bad guy as well.

It's not just like going for big for big sake. Yeah. And it was like he literally like admits at one point that he doesn't like he doesn't care about. If it's a smart plan he cares about revenge and it's like all right there you go.

Like he knows this isn't probably like the best like the smartest idea but I guess but that point he's like all scarred up and crap like that. And he doesn't really fight in this one. So I don't know if he was supposed to be like too injured to do anything. They'll never really set it.

No. This was like the first one. He definitely would have killed that guy when he came in. Oh my god look at his face.

I mean he's trying to kill that guy in the first one. Did anyone want to see his face though? Because we don't actually see it probably would have seen a little scar. A little scar.

I like the mystery of him. So in this movie apparently this is what I read today. It explores self discovery, embrace in one's unique qualities and find an acceptance in others. And once you've been talking there I'm kind of like is that more towards like Shrittor?

Or is that the turtles? Or is it the turtles? There's a name for the growth in the turtles. That's all I've done.

It's the only one who finds a new friend with that scientist guy who encourages him to like you know do stuff. And Donatello has the real emotional moment in this movie. And there's not many emotional moments in the whole film. There's one where they're talking about how the mutant was created like the ooze.

And in the new layer and like say they have the conversation with the scientists. And the scientists basically explains that it's a mistake. And Donatello has this like existential crisis. Like I'm a mistake.

Like what created me wasn't meant to happen. Like I thought I had a higher purpose. And we all have them type of moments at time. Like Lee has it on a daily basis.

But seeing that like Donatello is like all the other turtles don't quite grasp or even like bother by it. When he has that like little scene and I think this is why this film is a little bit more underrated than it is. It has them at the moment. So I kind of like grab you and like if they just pelled on and went a little bit further with stuff like that.

This would be on a such a high more regard than what's class as a cult classic. Yeah, I totally agree. And I do have one note that I just want to get out the way with was the cab couple. Can anyone remember the cab couple and the taxi and it just happened like.

It's like everything's so casual. There's like these mutated monsters in front of them and they're like, whoa, they're pulling down the the highlands. What do they do if they come from us to get their own taxi? Are they famous?

Because that seems like it should be like if this was a Marvel film that would be Stanley. Yeah, or if it was like the Gremlins, it would be like some friggin like 1950s actors that were like just hanging about. It's something that I just I just wrote down how hilarious these couple because like this is acting like this is just the norm that is so normal for their world. It's somebody would be just jolly monster would be pulling down pylons.

New York was a different place back then. No, it was a very dangerous place. Do you want to walk or come down the street? You could have had like say Topo and Reza, you could have had the marsh model man.

The taxi driver. The taxi driver was the scariest one of them all to be fair. This film as well, I know it sounds like it almost like it feels like two different directors made different parts of the movie. It's like ultra-famous but fun.

Like when they go to actually the what's it called the junkyard and they find like the fight. It's like after that part it then goes completely off off the just mental states where it's just absolutely not so whether they get smashed into this club where you don't know what club's going to be there. Like this club's just magically appeared and like because it's silent. There's no noise coming from it.
