Come on down and jump down this shit. How's this thing going, Nodie? I like Scary. Hell it is.

We came, we saw, we kicked it out. Be your juice. It's your day. So we're live.

Are we live? We're live, yes. We're live, oh hi everyone and welcome. Janelia Nodfucker, isn't any fuckers as an supposed by Nodie Nodie Nodie?

I am what your host is saying. And tonight. Let's go on as now. We'll get better guys.

We have an incredible shore planned for you this evening. We joined tonight by two special guests, well three now, three sorry. Two of them are from part unknown, but Nodie. We have a tag team unknown as the best of us.

The best of us ever will be of sports entertainment. We have Nicki and Mike from that Twitter and from their own discord. So hello guys. So yes, also we have a little bum that we found from the B&M dumpster.

He is the video on lastly himself. We've got Horbo fucking Lee. Hi. I would have asked, I would have asked to go by the name Lee Wood tonight.

That would open up weird too many jokes. Oh, that's a really interesting thing. It's a really interesting thing. It's a really interesting thing.

So yes, so hi guys. Hope you're all well. How are you? No bad.

It's been a minute since we've had Nicki and Mike last time we've had his own was during the quiz where let's be honest. Nicki did really well. I don't know if Mike actually contributed to that. I don't know what happened but I just stopped being able to adjust.

Stop. The end result was is, how do you? She's not graceful. She's not a graceful winner, is she?

Do you know what? She absolutely kicked her ass. I'm still happy with my t-shirt. Very much.

Who bought you the best year? Jen, no Jen. I'm not sure we didn't give her a t-shirt. If you were the quiz mister, that's what your job is.

This is what you do. Yes. So how are you late? How are you doing today?

Yeah, it's been a long day. It's been a long week. I'm good though. Everything's fine.

Everything's good. You did a little trick for us before. I'm hoping you pull it out again. I want to say that a little hard.

I want to go trick for you. Yeah. That's not what you did earlier. I was playing it with another oriferous.

It wasn't these now. So yes. So without having a few people on will not do that. I'm not doing that.

I hope you are well. I hope all your nerdy fandoms are out there and everyone joins with the thousands and thousands of nerdy fans now because we are at 59,000 followers on the Facebook group, which, again, or the page, sorry, which where the fuck is coming from? That's where we've been. Where have you been?

Have you been all my life? Yes. Do you want to do your disclaimer there, Sammy? Yeah, the way we're sitting crack on with is amazing episode.

Still, everything just goes into today's episode is our opinions and our opinions alone. If you'd like to discuss anything from today's episode, please come join us on the Facebook page. We'll just go to the comments section where we can have an open discussion. But what we want to have is anyone coming for us and tell us our opinions are wrong.

We can all agree to disagree and fandom. So let's keep it fun. Keep it kind and keep the toxic behavior out of nerdism. Very well said.

You're very well said. It's getting better. Let's get more professional. I say you want to be seen for three years now.

That's fine. Not quite three years. Have you heard of the early versions of it? I perfected that one.

Before we get into this episode, I want to give you the taglines because I'm excited about tagline and I absolutely love these ones. Not hitting the Batman level of tagline, but it's still pretty good. Where is it? They never get caught.

They're on a mission from God, which is... Is it a running thing throughout the movie? Yes. Yeah massively.

A briefcase of full of blues. That's shit. I'm sorry. That's terrible.

Well, that comes into one of my interests in facts later. But the most dangerous combination since nitro and gasoline. It almost sounds like a ruby cloth. If you're not first, you're last.

Dangerous combination of nitro and glycerin. Gasoline. No, it's actually glycerine. I'm saying it wrong.

I don't know. It's just words to me at this point. The one that caught me eye was that one. But the briefcase full of blues.

That really catches my eye because of the original script and the original name of the film. Cool. What was the original name? Briefcase all of those.

Wasn't. I didn't know. Told you me brain cells, Sharpe. Who was somebody to do with a briefcase?

Because that was their first album. Right. Cool. Look at me.

Brands. Was this a Saturday Night Live sketch or was it the one thing? No, that is a misconception. It started from Saturday Night Live.

They are originally a band. So the two G or of Dan Aperoid and John Polushi, they come up with the L word and GX theme and all the band is just their own names. And they came up with this whole band thing. We only thought SNL.

They toured with Steve Martin on his comedy tour and his standard comedy tour. And when Steve Martin went to SNL, he took them as the blues brothers, as their musical act. And that's where the relationship with SNL and the blues brothers started. So it's a misconception that they started on SNL.

No, no, I was just asking the question because I know a lot of the American actors of the time, especially in the 80s, where basically products that came from SNL, like basically Chevy Chase and a few others, I'm not going to start naming names now. Because it does feel like a SNL sketch a little bit when it comes down, initially, because it's very, very 80s and very, very of its time as well, shall we see. I'm very interested in knowing when you first watched this one. When you first was accompanied by the blues.

So Lee, when did you first see or when you experienced the blues brothers? I honestly could not tell you, but most likely, do you know your mum and dad always had that video cabinet of tapes that they choose to record things off the telly? Probably that. Do you think this is a family friendly film though?

Oh, I'm a family, I have a sense. It feels like a family friendly film, but it's got nazis in, it's got swearing from start to finish, a bit of crime, but nothing too bad. I do think you're saying like, what did you say it's ahead of time? Not ahead of time.

It's one of those things. It's some parts of it as age, okay, some of it hasn't aged well, shall we put it in? But it's very much of the time of its 80s. I think nostalgia is strong with this movie over the morning.

I think I was like the love of it, the love of the characters, the love of the people that's in this movie. All them things do make this a wonderful, wonderful movie. But as you said, I watched this movie far, far too. I probably didn't get it, but I love the music.

I probably didn't get the tone or what was going on. I loved the car chases. I thought I'd say anything with the car chases was amazing. But the music, I don't think, and again, I'll probably go on record.

I don't think there's a movie out there that has a better soundtrack. This is what I was trying to get at with, you're saying like, it's obvious time. It is a very 80s movie, but it's past its time in the terms of music, because it's got all of the 50s, 60s, 70s, blues songs. And it's like paying homage to all of that and bringing everything back, even though nobody listens to that anymore.

As it's proved in the film, people couldn't be in West. The reason the movie got made in the best place is due to the love and passion that Blue Chig and Acroid had for blues music, that weren't taken the piss out of it. They were paying homage to it, and that was the reason the studio got well behind it, and... ...Chon Landis.

We'll not go on to that again. I've been once before, and I'm not doing anything. If you want to hear Sami's rants about Chon Landis, go back to a previous episode. There's 15 million.

Go back to the train places. That's where I really get into the meat of it all. Dan Acroid and John Blue Chig must have done some amazing stuff before this, with all of these blues people as well. I don't mean this to sound like any term like racist or anything.

But for two white guys to get into blues that deep with all of these amazing icons of blues, white people, black people are the ones that are famous in the blues music, and it was like Elvis touched on it a little bit, and these guys have just gotten themselves right in the middle of it. And I think that's what's appreciated is the fact that it's not taken as their own. They're not to clear, they're not sitting there claiming saying, well, we've got this now. We respect this so much that we want to be a part of it.

And I know people can disagree with his origins of how he got into blues, but I feel like he was just so inspired by it that he just wanted to be a part of it. He didn't want to take it. He just wanted to get that from these two as well. But they have brought albums out before this becomes anything.

They've already brought albums out. They've been touring with the band, who is in the movie as well, and none of them change any of them, which I think is amazing. Yeah. I love the fact that they're all in their own names.

Donald Duck Duck. That's me every time with his little play. Yeah. Well, how did you get into just because I know when we talked about it, you said you grew up on this movie.

Yeah. So my parents are huge Motown fans, Northern Soul, my dad used to go dancing down at Wigan Perry's big into his music and stuff. And I was raised with like Aretha Franklin, Marvie Gay, all these amazing artists. And I remember one day I was definitely too young when I watched it, not now.

But like this is coming from the girl who's like favorite movie when she was a kid was fucking drop dead Fred. That is a kid's movie. I don't care what anyone says. That is a kid's movie.

I think seeing that recently that is a whole podcast. Dog shit. Dog shit. Diggly doo-chit.

In that way, we've drawn a thread. I didn't get the jokes. It was, I remember my dad put it on his eye. You're going to love this because I was really into the music.

I had a little record player in the bedroom. Used to play a little read the fan clip all the time. I loved it. And he was like, you're going to love this.

He sits me down and it comes on. You know, like the establishment. Right. Like the hellscape of like, what?

It's totally not put you in the right frame of mind for this movie. It's like, he and my dad put a horror movie on. It's so apocalyptic. It takes a while.

When he's signing for his stuff, I was like, oh, no, this is a comedy. And I think I was definitely under 10 when I saw it. It's definitely one of those films because I think the Ed E's parents, well, I know my parents were a little bit more lax when it comes to the movies that we watch because I used to watch the man with the two brains, playing strings and automobiles. When you watch now, you don't realize how kind of vulgar or like, like, but again, you're at that age.

You don't get, like, this is where the comedy is weird because in the blues, well, it's got comedies for the young ones or the music that people will enjoy. And it's got the humor for that. Also, again, that same thing with train places, but train places is more adult because there's boobs in it. But again, depends on, depends if it was shown on ITV because they used to cut out the naughty stuff.

So ITV used to do a family friendly train place, as shall we say. But, yeah, like, I'm surprised the amount of films I watched as a young child in the Ed E's and I watch back now. I was like, oh, fuck. Like the whole tones were this one, like with a Nazi element and stuff like that.

And certain language that was used, which again, wouldn't fly too much in things. Like, if you watch the movie 48 Hours with Eddie Murphy and Nick, the language and that is hard at a tip. It's very much of the time and it's very much of a film. It's still a good movie, but I watched that as a kid.

That's that's how crazy the Ed E's were, the Ed E's were a magical time where people didn't give a fuck and people found out all here. What about yourself? I'm not the thing she did the slightest. My dad is a huge, he is a big John Landers fan given that Animal House is one of his favorite films of all time.

So, Blue She was very much in our household and it followed with the Blues Brothers as well. It kind of came hand in hand, Animal House and Blues Brothers. So, I've always had it there. It wasn't until I met Anne, that Anthony adores this film and quotes this film quite a bit.

It's a bit of a more stable in my house. Anne has a lot of Blues Brothers merchandise in his room. But it was a massive, it was a huge part of my upbringing. And also that it's got the great front doors in the same character as Dreamblazers.

There was a lot of not netmitism in the Ed E's like, type thing, when the movies, there was a lot of characters that would follow up, follow the path into other movies. Coming to America, I had the two guys from Trend Play, Places in as well. So, that was always interesting to see. But when this movie starts, because I know we were gushing over the movie, we haven't even started talking about it yet, this is how good the movie is.

It's a very different tone and different feel to what you think you're going to get, because when you see the cover, you see the adverts for it. You think it's going to be this musical number, laugh riot, but the start's very bleak. It's very dark. It's incredibly industrial and apocalyptic and you're like, where the fuck are we?

And then it kind of goes... It's terribly silent, isn't it? And then it goes... These dark tones and then go into a bit of light and then you're in prison.

And you're like, how the fuck have I gone from here to prison? It's a great build up though, isn't it? All that silence that he's walked and all the through and it's... Nowadays, I don't think that would do very well in a movie, because it's really not to be...

It's really sore. One thing I've run into there, but it builds up and then it's just issues of the face and it's like, Do they? When the music kicks in, it's like... But you don't say the face?

No, no, that's the thing. You don't say the face first. You see the knuckles. The beginning is so slow, but then I thought what it means up the film is really slow as well.

The pace of this movie never speeds up once and I love that. And you're kind of like... From Jake leaving prison to him getting to Elwood. It's a good five minutes of him just walking and then letting them get the end of the credits out.

And then you finally get to the correction officer, which is why I'm not in that. It's like it's wrangled. But how does it come in the broken? It's interesting in the pacing of the movie because I think...

Again, not to slag off modern movies too much. This is where a lot of modern movies do get the pacing wrong. I think, and again, this is me showing the age of being an old man Paul at the time. Being old grumpy and grouchy.

With streaming now, a lot of movies don't, like filmmakers, don't worry about the edit anymore. Or about the pacing of the movie, they think, oh people are going to watch the stream. They'll watch the six hours, that's neither just as late movie and they'll watch it in parts. That's where we are now with movies where a three hour film is the norm.

And I think that's kind of like a sad word. It is a long movie, especially for the eighties. I think it was 32 hours 40. I think he's going to go back to that one.

So see how close I was. Where the fuck is that? Guys, what are you going to find the scene? Alright, 185.

So I thought... It felt longer. Well, if Dan Akari had his way, we would be watching A4 Hour movie because the chase was fucking enormous. But the point where John Landis had to severely torn it down to make it fit into a normal movie time.

Because we would have been watching... Actually, I think Dayas was the core average is how big his script was. Well, not big that he carried it around in the yellow pages. Yes, because it was that big that they covered it with the yellow pages.

But I know they did make the sequels too, which again, we're not going to talk about too much. But I can't see how any other film would have worked without these characters. Like John Belushi and Dan Atroyd. They're not just friendship, but they're like almost like brothers.

They were almost brothers in real life. And that shone through so much in this movie from start to finish. Even from the initial interaction. I know I can say we'll talk about the jokes with the Frank Ozz as well, but he's going through everything.

He's like a jacket, black, trousers, black. Even though Lee's not wearing trousers today, he's bottomless, sky's that's falling the illusion. But then he's like... He broke it for me when he stood up.

I've got pine soil on him. You did my bastards. And then he's like one prophylathic, not used. And he's like, guess he's pen.

What's he got the pen? It was like prophylathic, soiled. He uses the word, soiled. Why did the show?

Why didn't the show? Why didn't the show go, oh, this is the new thing, win the min? You've got... Maybe a rule?

You can't throw it, but you wouldn't have had that moment where you've got to use condom from like how many years he's been in prison. It's quite interesting how the treat rate rate as well, because we don't know what he's done. We don't know the crimes he's committed yet. All we know is, the treatment is a very dangerous man.

And I think that's quite interesting. The time in this as well, where he initially goes and stands at the front of the desk, where Frank Ozz nods for them to move him back and just slide him back. And then he kind of has to leave him over the line. The comedy in that is so simple, but so effective at the same time.

I was creased watching it today. That's where these jokes, because this is where this film does so much better than most comedies or black comedies, dark comedies type thing, where it's not about the in your face jokes or the gags. It's the little looks, it's the tiny little movements. And the timing of things that happen, it's just absolutely...

It goes from the symbol to the absolute absurd things where at the end, you're like, what the fuck is going on? Am I watching Grand Theft Auto in real life? Especially at the beginning. I was like five stars, man.

But they say when the interaction between Edward and Jake at the start, when they get in the car, and Jake's absolutely fume, and he's not happy at all that he's been picked up in a police car. And he's asking questions, he's like, where's the caddy? And Edward's just answering questions. Well, I've traded it.

And he's like, no, no, I've traded for a microphone. And he's like, oh, that makes sense. That's okay. And then this is where the comedy comes in absolutely at the other time.

Edward is trying to show off the joke and try and tell him why this car is amazing. And he's giving him real enough all these little things in. It's got this, it's got turbo, it's got this fuel injection. It can do this, it can even do this, it can even do this, it can even jump off the bridge just to show off the joke.

So this is the blues mobile. We'll do it. And Jake, nor sells it perfectly and just says you can fix the cigarette like that. So you can fix the cigarette like that.

It's got cop shop, cop tires, cop tires, cop that. Do this, but me as a joke, this sort of realistic. And he still complains and is like, yeah, fix the lighter. That's a part of them.

Just like, that's a part of them showing how cool they are about everything as well. What to go through? Like jumping over a bridge or having to build and fall on them. They're like, oh, look, what do you mean?

They're getting assassination attempts, building buildings and falling and they just know sell everything. And there's so much in the silence. And they don't even look at each other. They don't even know just dust themselves off and keep going and just lie down and go, oh, this will change.

Like, they just fucking go through life and no selling. It's just perfect. I've only done shellant about everything. Like, not things that I would love to be that chilling life that are building falls on us.

And I'm just like, who's mad for this? I didn't need to wish that. Lea gives Norfolk's only when he dresses up in the green turtle. But yeah, then we're introduced into some of my favorite characters as well.

Again, I think some of the best comedy is at the start as well. And I know we say we run nerdy of North and a lot of people have nickname like say a lot of the members as nuns. I want to change that now. I want all the nuns to be remembered or to be called now as penguins.

Yeah. I like that. These are all penguins now with no more. No more using the Nunn Ackermann.

It's now penguins. Yes. That's just going to make us think of the second best Batman film after the 99. Hopefully I can turn it off.

Don't worry. You want to find a way to get off this podcast and keep talking about that. It's like before we came on this podcast, Lee sent us a request of Lord's episode he wants to be on. Denied, denied, denied.

Actually, there is one he better be on because I've disappointed to be from us. No, no, no, stay away. They haven't fully. And character wise, are we talking about the sister?

Yes. Oh, she's an amazing. The penguin, the atmosphere and the minute you go in there. And again, this is all how amazing the comedy time it is.

When they go in, the door is open, the walk up the stairs and they're halfway up the stairs looking at that giant Jesus. And then the door closes. It's the only time you see them scared. In the whole film, that's the only time you see them actually nervous and like break, like, shit themselves.

Soon as that door closes, the other one opens and you're met with the sister and you're like, shit. And this is where physical comedy is at its absolute best with John Belushi and fucking sitting in that chair, taking them with stuff that none. Well, it's not just the initial part when they're getting the chance. I need to see your faces.

So instead of getting in the chair and moving it, it's like, it's the old school thing and it's the shuffle. Oh, why did I even bother wearing makeup? This is like not happening. It's not speaking.

Yeah. And then, like I said, when she started bringing them with the ruler, it's just funny. And they're trying to, because they keep swearing, because like, if you get hit by a really, you gotta go like fuck shit, fuck shit. And it's like, it's goes from shit.

Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ. God damn it, bitch. Jesus Christ.

And then they're actually just literally goes, shit. But then there's a line in it that absolutely brought us. I actually felt like they felt the bad laughing. Well, I think it's not really says he goes, it's just says like, it just starts calling that fuck penguin.

She's like, you're fucking one. She's like, fuck you. I'm fucking one. She just whips the shit out of them.

John Belushi, like that guy gets out of the chair. John Belushi stays in and just shuffled backwards and then falls down the fucking stairs. I have a big, I wouldn't love to think that was just a choice on film. And that wasn't scripted.

That's just him showing his physical, like how good his physical comedy is because that was genius. I've got the giggles out. I definitely think a lot of it was I've lived on that point because like their reactions to get slapped me because she wasn't just like top of them. She was full on blonde, when at one point she hit some so hard the ruler snaps.

She goes on the desk and gets some get metal rod. And that's when you say that's when you say that, I'm going to get out this chair and fuck this. I am out of here. And John Belushi is like shit, I am stuck.

And again, I know on the day, we leave that and each show are there. There's a lot of extras and not to be in the same stuff. But, um, it's got a lot of extra scene in it that Mike actually haven't seen. So he hadn't noticed any of those.

He hadn't know that hadn't seen a little extra bits. Yeah. And I'm sorry, I could have been ad lib because he did. John, we should did sprainys back.

Yes. I was not. I was thinking with ever that I was double to do his moves. No.

He also did his leg gain as well because like between scenes was some kind of a. For the big finale. So they needed him to be able to do his back hands, handspring and everything because he's a farmer gymnast. Yeah.

That's all him. Yes. He was a farmer gymnast. You could do.

You fuck your leg up the day before the blue she and early seen is like, be able to be backflips and it was Thanksgiving weekend. Special physio and osteo is meant to come out and. That's the joke in the church. When he does the backflip, you don't think it's him and the way the position the camera looks like someone's just jumped in, but it's John.

But he's doing it. No, we know what we need now. We need to clip someone and clip of Lee's mind being blown because he saw his face. I was like, that's the joke because it looks like it's not him and the way the position the camera.

You know, when someone just jumps and it's like the men are finished it. It's for the team. He does it as well. Be able to do it as far as.

You need to learn your job, Lucy history. I wouldn't have expected that. Yeah. He was absolutely brilliant physically and comedically musically.

There was this is one thing I found really interesting from reading the day of the budget of this movie. Yes. I had a cocaine budget because Danak Roy wanted to make sure that the whole set was alert in a way because it was going to be some late night shooting. But the locals knew that John Belushi was in the area and when he wasn't getting from the set what he needed, the locals would just top him up.

He was constantly off his tits throughout this film and one of the night scenes he just got up and walked up and left and apparently he was very famous when they were just getting up and walking up and leaving. And Danak Roy found him in this complete strangers house and apparently he just knocked on the door and said, may I come in for a glass of milk in a sandwich? And they went absolutely jambaloo she closed the hand and that's how Danak Roy found him. He was called the American stranger.

He was happy to know his couch. Yeah. Just being just knocked on the door lightly asking for some milk in the sandwich. I'm sorry.

I don't think that'll work in the North East. You'll probably get stabbed. Stamped or you'll end up in the BSN of Doom. That might not be the best place for you.

Where do they go? We don't know. He just disappeared one day. Looking for a sandwich and a glass of milk.

So this is the part where we get the mission. This is where the plot line kicks in and well, because the film does have a plot, it's not just about music. Basically the main plot is Elle Buren, Jake, or a mission from God to save the orphanage. They need to pay £5,000 for the tax man.

So fuck the tax man. They're trying to take the orphanage. Fuck the Tories. We might as well go in as well.

So they're going to be good with it. But yes. So this is the plot and we get to meet Curtis's character, Kia Coddweir. Call away, I think.

He is the most smoothest cat. One of the best performances in this as well. Oh yeah. I had chills when he did his performance.

It was incredible. He did a good version as well. So you check out our Instagram. I will be checking that out when I finish.

Yes. Yes. So this is where the mission starts and then the idea. They're going to get the band back together.

And soon as they see it, you get excited because you want to meet the band. Who the fuck is going to be in this band? Just a band. That's all it gives in.

Yes. That's what the band. That's when they get the revelation to get the band back together because they need to, you need to find peace, you need to find God, you need to find clarity. And my God does Jake find it in that moment with his ground.

He sees the light. He saw the light. Honestly, if that's what fear would give me every Sunday, I'd go to church and I'd go to church and say what you were right here. See doesn't happen hard because that is so much fun.

See that though. Just saying, because I live in a little place called Mossen. Now where Nicky lives now actually quite scary that actually lives a few doors down to where I actually lived in Manchester to Share. That's brilliant.

To the point where she knows my exes pants. Hello. Hi. We used to, we used to go to the cinema on a Sunday for students look on the Depot car and the ordinary are the only mothers competing in the print works in Manchester City Centre, hires out the screen to a gospel church.

I used to win there. Yeah. And it used to be amazing because we used to go and say these like Sunday morning matinees or like, because he's been chasing tickets, that's to be honest. And we used to walk past them the most beautifully dressed people going in and like their celebration of the Lord.

Like say, I know I would say a thing. It's something to be envious of. It is like say a magic experience. So it was like with a little less trampolines than the same we got on the blues.

Well, yeah. And the liens in church. No. But yeah, that kind of like, say, was like a quite true, a true representation of what I explained.

So I was like, I love that like how authentic it was. And having James, motherfucking Brown as the, as a priest. Motherfucking Brown or clear for, clear for James as he was known in the movies. Well, it was really interesting.

So in musical film, musicals, musicals, musicals, I put into film, the, the norm is for time you lip sync the song. James Brown couldn't do that. Actually James Brown wouldn't do that. That's a big difference.

And he sang that fucker live every take they did. The only other person who did most of her stuff live was Aretha Franklin. And that's only because you can't stop that voice. No.

You cannot stop that voice. But the reason she took them days to do it, but it paid off in the end because it was just sang live. She lives in. She's saying live in for some shot.

She lives in. And it just flows beautifully. But James was like, fuck no, I'm going to sing the whole thing. And he did.

I've seen him live. He played at the stage in like 2008 or something like that. I saw him at the Manchester City stadium. He was supporting.

He was a supporting art. For the Red Hawk Chili Peppers. The Chili Peppers were shite. They were absolutely dire.

But James Brown was absolutely amazing. At certain points of the James Brown performance, the Chili Peppers came out in front to watch him. But his orchestral band is like nothing. At this stage in his life, James Brown wasn't performing too much.

All he was doing was going to be dead. And then go on. I didn't have. I didn't have.

I didn't have. I didn't have. I didn't have. I didn't have.

Then go on. And from the ship off and stuff. I mean. Yeah.

I lived in America. And America. Good. Yeah.

Okay. That secret I see it seen in this church. It's amazing. It could have been used to things better.

I don't think things should Epstein's brown enough. But that wasn't the best song for him But it did set the energy for the film. do but they could have had a bit more Jim Browning I think. No but I think there's a lot of like other acts and other things to get through but um I put this- I'm not going to buy a fire in that little bit as well so that Chaka Khan lost it.

You're not going to buy a fire? I spotted a few celebrities like throughout this that I'd never spotted before. I don't know if they've got credits as well but I say a few spotted them at certain points but yeah I kind of set the stone like this was the warm up act of what we were going to experience throughout this movie because imagine if the problem is if you went too hard at the start where do you go from that it's always like a downward spiral so I can understand why it was a little bit muted you didn't get the full Jim's Brown experience but I kind of like set the tone of what we were going to go on in this journey. I think it was just the right level especially the fact that you've got a whole performance before the boys even had their revelations so you got this whole like performance from everyone in Jim's Brown as well and then the boys have their moment and then they join in.

Oh it's just it's such a like goose bumpy magical moment and Dan Akroids moves come on. Oh fuck me man. Chris is amazing. He's absolutely amazing.

I'm going to make a lead dance like that through a nerd fest. We'll do a live performance on stage because I think we'll be able to carry on with you Oh it's going to happen now my friend. I didn't even think of that. I will leave you from that.

She'll never see yesterday marriage proposal then. I mean this is my time to say about that at all. I think Mrs. Might as well so yeah.

Oh yes. Breaking all the hearts of the teenage boys just throwing that out there. Um but yes and after this part this is where in the Golden Mission this is where like the kind of the look of the bruise brothers kind of continues throughout this movie because it doesn't matter what they do they pick up enemies all the way through like all the way along. Like and it's stupid little mistakes as well like like the initial one that just drives through a red light and it's still pretty nice.

But he didn't because it was actually Amber. You don't want to get changed red once he's gone past it so to him he wasn't doing anything wrong but he it's the way that he goes. They've got like a computer system that I know all about this and then you see the computer system. Like I'll talk about did anyone notice who one of the police officers was?

I've got his name but I know. I can't remember. A. C.

Williams. Steve Williams. And you will know him as X on the X files. And he's also out of a supernatural as well.

He's a obvious friend. Yes. But did you know he's one of those faces where I'm going? I know you.

But I can't be bothered at this moment to pick my phone up and find out. So I had to wait until the end when I was writing me notes out. I was like oh my god it's X. I think it was a staple in American TV.

She was like anything that made it like a gruff like the angry black man used to get like Steve Williams. Steve. I think he's really lovely as well. But that starts the the carciest.

Yes. That is not the carciest of all carciers. This is like the GTA 5 star carciest. Yeah.

It's like the appetizer. Yeah. And they go into the department store and I love the line of the guy who's like have you got to miss Piggy? Love that line.

That's a mystery character. It's just real that they're like with no one and crash into this. Ties are us. And there's like the manager miss all of the kids somehow.

But like this is dangerous as fucking meanwhile it's good. Maybe close everything here. Like again no selling it. It's the line how they get into the mall as well.

It's like they're driving around in the car park and it's like jix is oh we need to get out the car park and he goes okay and he just drives straight into the mall and that's why it just goes straight through and everything just starts getting destroyed. But it's just manic all the way through like how crazy the busy fire through everything. As Sami said it is very GTA and the stunt coordinators in this movie most of how to blast with the cars like we could crash how many cars we can crash into anything we can destroy everything. 102 cars in total were destroyed in this movie.

Now at the time that was the highest number of cars destroyed in the film. Two years later gone in 60 seconds to breaks that and then a few years after that it's broken again and was like for the Nicholas kid movie I went shut your fucking mouth. Don't you dare think that that was the actual original theme of that movie. It was one in the 70s.

I just google how many were in blues for the 2000s because I thought there's definitely more in 2000. But what did you want to do at the time? It was the highest number of destroyed cars in one movie. I thought blues for the 2000 had more than the Matrix but the bit is beaten by like 200.

Yeah I think the Matrix resurrection that holds the highest number right now. So then we are introduced to the lovely and the beautiful Carrie Fisher who in this mystery as well. Yeah and in this movie as well she is the worst fucking shot. I've never known anyone have such a wider array of just weapons and miss with every fucking one of them.

That'd be me to be better like I'm not the best shot in the film. She's telling Mrs. Stone she goes around them. I love it when they see her under Nia, she's doing her nails and she's reading through the fucking manual.

I love it and I, but Neil Salon. I love it because she's a credit as mystery woman isn't she? Yeah obviously she is going to miss every shot that she fires at them because they're on a mission from Paul. I mean, I'm sorry I always get those two things.

No you can't. To be fair the person you've got to kiss up to is Sam. She's the real boss behind this. I'm just the and the puppet she's got to hand up my office.

I'm going to talk. It's been up there for years. It's in a war space but yeah. But yeah like her I want to know as you said she's named as the mystery one but I would know how she gets access to all these weapons as well because the first one she gets it's not just a little one it's a fucking bazuga.

Manjuga I think. I might have an answer for that. Oh yeah. I mean doesn't she say that her dad used up his last favours with an engineer some proper gangster sound and name.

Crime stuff. Yeah the most have access to crime stuff. I know about this crime stuff and there's then this one from weapon-grained war zones where you've got like a flamethrower, a rocket pack, then some kind of like bomb that's just with a comment but like said there wasn't like a remote control bomb though wasn't it as well that she just blew it up. Yeah actually we're coming just going back to these really innocent comments of crime stuff.

Yeah. You're part of the sweetest like you should get all these crime stuff but it is a remote control but hey she did she did success over the bomb it didn't take them out or anything but she leveled that building. She didn't kill a single person there was nobody like I don't know how you can blow a house up but I want to live in this world though. Can I just say as well?

I want to go under the face. That guy just like bleeding the death rich and freeze cheese whiz. One last word before I go. Um but just to say about the practical effects in this movie because again if this was made in the modern day you would have used a lot of CGI to do things.

I want to know how they blew that building up the way they did without actually like because they must have blown up a building that was a major of rage as well because that wouldn't have been an easy thing to do. It's got to be controlled in so many ways but it looks like it doesn't look like there's being one inch of this movie touched by a fucking computer. No. So it's got to be a shot in mall was abandoned.

It didn't sound a lot of that before. Right. The wrecked the shopping mall and then afterwards the shopping mall sued them for like 87,000 dollars a swing. Right.

They went. Didn't put it back how it was. Even though that one stated in the contract but I think the shopping right. Interesting.

At least someone went in court against John Landers. Oh here we go. Now one again I love this movie don't get as wrong I absolutely adore it. Now this is what probably is one of the movies feeling graces or one of the things they probably did didn't utilize.

It brought in an amazing comedy actor and we didn't really get used in that much. John Candy. Yeah I felt like if you if you Candy wasn't there it wouldn't have made any difference to the plot point at all. Lovey's name Lord.

Mm-hmm okay. Burton Mercier. Burton Mercier. But yes.

Burton Mercier. But yeah I think Candy's role is just a it's a bluesy friend. Yeah. So I believe that's where I feel like that fell into it but if he wasn't there wouldn't have missed him.

No that's that was all. Yeah that was my only complaint with like John Candy because I got excited. Like not just as a kid but when I say anytime I say John Candy and if it was John Candy can make all that anything that he does like like let him alone he's in the home alone for what five minutes and his character is memorable it's hilarious it's entertaining. Well he's not even scripted.

No. Not even scripted and he's still managed to he's still managed to make you fucking love that person with all the stories he's telling you and he's just making it up that they're pulling it out of his and they just don't use that in this. He's incredibly scripted in this. He's not just something missing like like a little gleam just gone from him a little bit.

Yeah it's almost like painting the numbers it's like oh I've only got this because I'm friends rather than like this role is meant for like something special because you think John Candy played head of police cheers in the blues but that could have been like smoking the banded style comedy. Yeah. That could have been absolutely hilarious like I've gotten the name of the guy who chist Bert Reynolds a lot who's like oh it's like I'll get you next time you've been attached monster. But it just felt like it was a missed opportunity that could have been something special.

Like I would have even thought like even using John Candy in a different role like having him as like the head Nazi would have been hilarious and saw wrong and so I mean. Oh that was being a sort of me isn't oh I mean John Henry Gibson who plays him is the creepiest of creep seasons and I'll never forgive him for the verbs because creepers out on that. And sure he's been on an episode of Buffy. Yeah.

No. Yeah. Which trial finger. Yeah he was in it.

Yeah. I felt like I've seen him before but like he is really good in that role but if it was John kind of it was John Candy because the speech that Henry Gibson gives is a genuine right speech that was given at a Nazi rally before. So that was the comedy of it that he said for Beaten and I think John Candy doing that speech would have been fucking brilliant. It would have definitely added something a little bit extra but yeah that's my only well like again if you want to call it a complaint that's just my little thing that could have made this movie from like well sorry call from a classic to even more of a classic type of it.

Where because a lot of this movie even though there's a lot of like little weird things in it's very not very much wasted motion. There's not many things that's just being put in for putting the sake. Everything's got a reason. Everything's got like entertainment value.

But then one of my favourite well there's two iconic scenes. This one is probably iconic for humour. The other one is iconic just because it's just fucking amazing. But where we go to the restaurant?

The posh restaurant scene? Yeah. So. So.

So. Really? This is just comedy. This is just comedy comedy goals.

How much for the children? Yes. I've made notes on this. Like this is the first time I've made proper notes and I didn't even write anything for this.
