Hey everyone and welcome to another episode of the Nerdy of North podcast. It's a Nerdy podcast hosted by Northern Nurse. I'm Moni O'Hosam. And I'm the other host Paul.
Today we are joined by the lovely Charlotte. She's so pretty. As well as a couple of times on the last side of the party. But yeah, so I do apologise for everyone joining in this episode.
It's going to be a bit of an interesting one. We are a little bit tired. I wouldn't say a hoe of a hoe because of the three or so the non drinkers of the game. Yeah, that's true.
We probably were in the one to hand. Yes. So this episode is coming off the back of the first ever Nerdy of North made up shall we say and it went better than I was expecting. It's stressful for me but everyone seemed to have a nice time.
We were meant to be joined by the lovely Big Mac Daddy himself. The smooth operator that is Kev but unfortunately he's a little bit under the weather today. So what I've done is I've imposed his picture on and that he sent all of it to us that apparently is one of Charlotte's favourites of him. So just seeing it.
So that's a nice surprise for when Charlotte watches back. It's great. Can we just say hello to everyone in the chat? How good will thank you so much for coming yesterday.
I don't even know if I can say thank you because you were just everywhere but thank you very much for the drink. And the lovely donors here and we've got Peter Richie who's joined us in the chat as well. So welcome and can't be worth it. It's going to be one of them.

We'll try. Yeah. We thought we were doing nice and easy one this week. Like I said, it is a show that I think there's not much hit out there for it as well.
When you think about it, when you instantly see a squirrels, everyone kind of laughs. So it's one of them. Confetti, he shows. I think it was replaced quite recently by Brotman 99 for my go-to show.
I still, like say, it's always in circulation. It used to be on Channel 4, like for all the time. So I took over from friends, I believe. Yeah, they know how to drown something, don't they?
Yeah. So it would be interesting to know, like, did you get the scrubs when it was first shown? Because I think it was on Channel 4 when it was originally, how's it like, Thursday night or something like that? Something like that.
I watched it when it best came out. But I've got a confession to make. You don't like it? No, sir, I don't like it.
I just haven't watched, I watched it in a certain series. I think when Jordan and Dr. Cox got married again or something and I dropped off. I don't know how it ends.
So this is going to be interesting to be honest. And it's lovely. I really love it. So it has been on the background.
And I do remember some of the best episodes, because I believe the best ones were all beginning anyway. But I could be wrong. I've not seen the end. It's one of them, sure.
It's always been there. What about you Charlotte? I can't remember when I first started watching it. It wasn't when it first came out.
But I knew my dad loved it. So we used to watch it. But I just can't remember when exactly it was. To be fair, you are.
You're quite alien. I think it started around about 2000. I tried to think that I started it. It wasn't 2000.
Sorry. Because I've just looked at it was nine seasons of it. Yes, nine seasons of Scrobes. I think it started around 2001.
Wow. Zach Braff was really young when I first started. Yeah, I think this was the first thing you've done. Don't quote us on that.
But I think he did like a few films after this. But this was like the first thing with Zach Braff. I know the guy who plays Turgan's name wrong now. Donald, Donald, Donald, Donald, Donald, Donald, Donald was on.
He's always been in like TV shows in the peripheral. He was in Sabrina. He was in Caluis. He was in not part of the Titans.
It's got Titans in the name of it. Ah, yes. No, the football team was a football team. I remember the Titans with Dan Taitons.
Dan Taitons. He was in that when he was a teenager in that. He's in Caluis. One of the greatest films ever made.
It's brilliant. And he's classed in it. He had a foot up the Stacey Dashblessie's house. And that's all written as well.
Nothing's bad with Paul Rudd. No, no, you're very true. Very true. 2001.
Yes, it's been in the journey. Like I said, the nine seasons where it should have only been it's but the cock reading decided to do an extra season. We'll come to that little bit later and I'll try and sell you on season nine. Everyone in the chap said it didn't exist.
So you're gonna have to sell hard. But that's why when we don't know how a top five TV shows, scrubs would have been in my top five TV shows if it wasn't for season nine. That's how bad the season nine was. But like the mistakes from it, but as a whole, I love this short, not because of the storylines as much but for the cast.
Each member of the cast had such strong personalities and the onetime's the shine as well. And even the people in the backgrounds kind of got their own little things like Bait for Seuss, like Hooch. Hooch is crazy. Oh, she's gonna make us want to watch it again.
It was really a character building series and the other series that I love. Not a lot could go on in the episode, but the characters like something's moving forward with them. And that's what I love. I love people.
So and I love development of people and that this is, it's not a case of like I didn't, I just dropped off because I didn't like it or anything. It's just it wasn't a program that I was completely dedicated to watching like a Brooklyn nine nine all the office. Yeah, I think with this one, this was one that I used to get on DVD as well. It was because it was before streaming and everything like that.
So to watch the films, like watch the TV shows over and over, you have to watch the TV shows over and over, you have to watch the one back there's one because it was never a big fan of getting TV shows because you used to buy the box set and then you used to bring another season out. So yes, I think so there was only friends supernatural and scrops that actually bought and South Park back in the day. But that was in VHS world. My TV ones, I used to collect a lot of TV DVDs and then through all me because they would bring collectors editions out later on and Dexter was me main one.
I had them all and I saw them all. My mom is the TV boxer queen. It has like 17 series of NCIS and all the playboards and just there's just hundreds of them. It's a crime.
All of AR and all of Angel and AR. I still haven't seen the last season. Speaking of AR, I was on a hospital thing back in the early 2000s. AR was one of the first programs, like the TV series that I watched, like religiously.
And then scrops came out and then grays and Adam, we came out and was like right in that hospital role, it was great. I think as you said with different TV shows and stuff like that, just because Charlotte mentioned them, the offer is still there. If you want to wear the monkey onesie, come and join us. Or it wasn't creepy at all.
That's just the theme of the week. Well, because it actually did an interview with someone that worked in, like the medical practice in America and said, because I remember it because it's such a great selling point for scrops. I went out of all the TV shows like AR and stuff, which is the most realistic, two work in an American hospital and the said scrops. So it was even though the comedy aspect and stuff, how it works and the things that they got in, it was the most realistic portrayal of what I'd like to work or be in an American hospital.
I think with scrops, like the never took the whole, the took the medical side of it seriously, but they never polished it like AR and stuff like that. Yeah, and that's what made it more different. Yeah, things went wrong and there was human error and so that's probably why it was a bit more real. And it was more good wrenching when it went wrong, because it's meant to be a comedy show.
And I know we're probably getting into episodes, but there's one that will always stick in my mind, because I have never cried so much. It was heartbreak and a lot. Oh, it was quite real in the sense that there wasn't like suddenly a miracle here with ours left to save the person. They died.
Yeah, the patient, they died. There wasn't like some magic portion that was going to save them. There wasn't a magic portion that was going to cure everything and they were all going to be happier. I think that handled grief really well too.
Oh, 100%. That was a quite a good point that Charlotte made because actually they do an episode that was based on that whole premise. It was the one where the guy who said that he'd done all the sitcoms, like happy days and stuff like that, like it was supposed to be a producer. So they did it like it was almost like a sitcom and like, oh, we're going to have a talent show and had it all be lifted ahead of the balance.
And at the end of the episode, it's like, oh, we're wrapping up now and it just lies back and they're saying, oh, it's crashing. And then J.D. is a voice over in monologue and stuff and go back to the actual hospital, like in real and said, yeah, they don't always get happy stories or happy endings, things like the most simple things just cause it's that type of realism or heartbreak and that was done handled so perfectly. Like all the costumes changed to like past local eyes and all the nurses are in like stereotypical shots, go to scrubs and stuff like that.
It was quite tongue in cheek for a second. And then it flashed back at the end and it was real. Oh my god, let's get the sand stuff out of the way with that, right? So we then move on to the happy stuff.
No, I think when I want to call through first, which I think as I was touched on quite earlier, was the cast. Yeah. I think if you go back through the cast and make sure who was your favorite and that's going to be hard one now, who was your favorite? Oh, I'll go first.
Regular or like, yes, because I've got two. We'll go with the regular. We'll go with the regular stuff. Oh, well mine has to be Dr Cox 100%.
That man is the epitome of everything. Like he's got so many layers. You get in your one each time you saw an episode. Yeah.
A lot of them. My favorite Dr Cox episode is when he couldn't save all the patients and he just loses it. It smashes up the lab room and that was so good. Because he asked them, he gave them all rabies, didn't he?
I said, I don't know why she died. It's the three-patient episodes. Yeah. That's the one that appalled me eyes out at that.
Yeah. The three-patient episodes with the rabies. Yes. Oh my god.
I don't even think if I was to rewatch it, I don't think I could watch it again. That was it was heartbreaking. But the way they folded up the next episode as well, because they're shown, like going through the grief and how everyone's looking after him and G.A.D. can't save that way.
But we'll come back to the whole G.A.D. character. It's a lot of the time. I've got a few choice words for G.A.D.
Show you two. Mine was probably the janitor. Just as simple and how funny he was. Because it could have been just the one nor joke.
Yeah. And the other one is the one. Even like the episode where G.A.D. tricks him with the riddle.
And the replay of the episode further down the line in a few seasons, they'll kind of repeat the episode. But it's not in a way that it's still in a tin. You still laugh when I say it. Comedy called.
Like every scene he was in, he was stealing. And even if they make the future reference, and he just like going into that aspect. How did work G.A.D. put in to find out whether that's really him or not?
It's brilliant. Do you ever find out he's real him? I think one episode, no, actually no. I don't think you do.
I think that's really clever that. No, so even in like when I've got none of these, I am D.B. now. It's just the end, Janita.
Oh, I saw clever. It's really good writing that you can create a character and not give them an aim. Yes, and he's been such a prominent and strong role as well. But I can say the Janita, everything.
Like one bit, I still cry. I don't know. It's the one way he's trying to fire things in the jar. And he's getting more, because he's kelzo bets and he can't do it again.
And he's just keep flicking them like the cotton buds. And he's going, I also sort of had a stop. I've got a stop and he's just like, nope, he won't do it. Just keeps on.
He doesn't find where he just says, double nothing. And he hits it and goes in. You cheer for him? Yeah.
The story is about his wife that he tells. It's like, honestly, you're bringing back so many memories. Because Scrubs is like in the far back reach of me, Brian. Oh, then wife.
Like when he comes in and shorts and he gives a pair of J.D. He's like, my wife made them and some pinkie. And... Oh, yeah.
I'm trying to think of other things like his school army as well. Like, how do you talk about his life? I know he, like, says, swaps them all for the, like, Randy, was it Randy the dog? Oh, kind of.
I think the dog, the labrador. And to so call it and get him back. But like, say, like the elements as well, like when he's got a bag of rats. And he's like, there's one dead one.
Does the show make me business? Oh, when he's, when he's dad to visit, when the episode, all the parents visit. And he's dad to dad. And he's dad's just going to make a hard time in J.D.
He's like, yeah, this is where you get it from. Oh, but I gave him the bits where he's like, I remember when he's the little kid with some next time, like, J.D. He probably rings him out. And he's, and his kids don't, it's okay.
You've got no how you do that. This is the son. This is how people trade something. J.D.
got shit. Fuck. What's off? And he goes, oh, we're good.
There. Yeah, that was always a good one. What about you Charlotte? Janet earned Dr.
Cox for everyone of me. But I've got a really, really soft sweater tied as well. Oh, I saw Ted. Oh, I saw Ted.
You told us a really interesting fact about Ted as well. Yeah. Oh, yeah. So he was a person.
Christopher Leitz, nephew. Right. Yes. I never knew that.
No, no, I've seen it. I can't see it. No. Yeah, I can't even see it.
But didn't he pass away last year? It was like that 2021 round there. Yeah. And I was always so happy that he got a happy ending.
I know. Because all the way through the show, he was the butt of all the jokes. And then they gave him the happy ending as well. Like, see when he got with that crazy, you clearly girl.
I can't remember any of them. You are happy. We are happy. Happy together.
Yeah. Yeah. But was it the gooch? Was the gooch that she was called?
Yeah, something like that. She's being it everything. The lot. She was called the gooch.
Wow. She was all night in the gooch. Because when Turkey was getting all upset about having a second baby and was happy for him. So you told the gooch that was his first baby and she was like celebrating with him.
And then she got really mad and like quite scary towards the time. Depending on his life. But yeah. Oh, Ted.
Like, is the one they always wish for? Like you always just go on. Go on, see, know what else it was. Catch a break.
Yeah. And so it has some really strong moments as well. I'll never forget the episode where the insurance didn't cover someone. And he told them about a loophole.
Like, could have cost them his job. But to show them a loophole on how they could do the procedure. Mine is doing it. It just showed such a human side to him.
Yeah. And something I can imagine would happen quite in American hospitals because they're not like, that was very different. Very different. Very different.
When it comes to Kelso, he was meant to be the villain. Well, no, he was more trained as the villain. We all know who the true villain of the show was. G.A.T.
He was a massive cut. I'm sorry. I'm not going to use that word. I'm not going to see word out.
I'm not going to say that word that often. Well, come on. The stuff he did through that show. He was the more self-centered spoiled little brat.
The way he tried alien as well. I got so angry at G.D. Yes. But he is the true villain of the whole show.
Because everything he does, even like the same number of companies that he's in finale, it does it in a petulant way where it's all about him. And I know Scrubs is the main thing. But wow. I was watching a back wedding.
Not John, but I was like, he's a real dickhead. I can't do that. He's a lot of little dickheads. But the stuff he does through that, you think, if I was a janitor out of Branums.
The turning point for G.D. was made for me. It was quite early on. And it was when I think Jake and Carlo were having, like, really early on in their relationship.
And Carlo just opened up to him and told him everything that was going on in our head. But she did it, like, confidentially. And then he went and told Jake everything. And I was like, you don't do that.
I was like, that's no. I kissed, he kissed Carla as well. I know. He kissed, he's got, oh god.
Was that early on as well? I think it was around season, mid-run-level of the pack. So it was, because it was when Turgan and Carlo were born from marriage troubles. So it was before they had the first kid.
Yeah. Yeah. We say that by doing low-duty in Dr. Cox's relationship.
Yes, Nancy. I think it's more on Dr. Dr. Cox's side than it is on his.
I mean, there are moments where you can say that J.D. genuinely does look up to him in the earlier seasons. And then it's nice to say how that admiration turned into like a genuine sort of closeness with them. Yeah.
Yeah. I think that changed the dynamic as when J.D.'s father died. Again, another heartbreak in episode. Clint, I can't remember his name now, but he's like, brilliant actor.
Because J.D.'s dad was- Something, John Ritter. John Ritter. That was it. It was John Ritter.
Yeah. Yeah. So John Ritter played a J.D.'s dad. And the, I don't know if it was around at the same time.
Or was after when John Ritter actually passed away. It was like when the day table rose, it eroded into the show. Yeah. But like I said, that episode where like I said, J.D.'s just like masking his pain.
And his brother comes to stay with him and his brother's in the bathtub drinking out of hands. I don't know if his brother saw much. But laughing with him sitting there in the bathtub and he's like deciding which is where you're in which is bath water. And then basically Dr.
Cox is basically back in J.D. up but not doing it in a way where J.D.s Like he's like, knows about. But J.D.'s getting more and more annoyed at him thinking he's just ignoring him. And like taking all his patients off him.
But I think the change in point in the relationship with Dr. Cox when he actually knew that he actually saw J.D. as a kind of like a son. Yeah.
I remember that episode. But I did, I couldn't remember that it was J.D. John Ritter who played his dad. His brother though.
Why couldn't he not take his brother seriously when he played reverse flash. Because all I'm thinking about was him and Scrubs. He's such a great actor. No.
I think that was the strongest point with Scrubs as well. And all with the main cast was so strong. But their side characters in the brought in are the special guest stars who were going to hit a gram. Absolutely perfect.
Shh. Trying to think now. Like say the rest of the car. I was going to say the Brendan's pretty hard.
I was going to say Brendan's pretty hard. Did anyone else do like a momentary? Oh, I didn't realize he wasn't there. I still do.
Like I thought that episode was... Oh. It's one of the episodes. You know what's going to happen.
But you want it to change? You kind of watch it and you think, kind of the world change and just please give us a different ending because you don't want it. Oh, just let me off this world. The same thing for me.
It's one of those episodes that I wish I could wipe from me memory every time I watch it. Because that moment where JD turns out in Dr. Carter's doors, where do you think we are? And you've realized it's probably one of the best moments in Telly.
And there is nothing like watching that for the first time you realize it. Yeah, I totally agree. I've got to be spumped. I'm literally going to be spumped.
Sorry, spoilers if you haven't watched it. Yeah. She said, I mean, it has been now for a while. But if it could have been, good will made a point about he feels the same about Ted Mosby and how I met your mother as you do with JD.
Couldn't agree with them all. Yeah. Ted Mosby is a dick. To be fair, that sure wouldn't work with him.
I know this is not how I met your mother episode word. 100% 100%. Again, two shows with two strong points where people try to give high five. I thought Todd, like, gave high five.
Oh, it was such a creep. It was, was it? It was such a creep. All them jokes weren't PC these years.
I don't think they were getting away. It was much less. Probably not. They were getting away with the Todd by, like, you would laugh.
And then you would go like, oh, that was really creepy. I should not laugh at that. It's good when he's in the operating theater with a nurse. He's like, oh, I need some suction.
I'm sure the patients are here. He goes, I know what he just got off. Fuck. I know.
It's like, oh, it's wrong in so many levels. And you remember what I told you about Anthony? I said he was filthy. That's the level.
That's the level we're talking about. He is the Todd. And what was it? When J.D.
and Elliot started having a conversation about diagnosis. And he goes, how do you think the impact of sugars are like on the floor in that pile? Because you don't just tell us it's getting ordered. It's a Todd pile.
The Todd's piled them up so some nurse can fall off your head. Bend down and see a thong and see a thong. But I saw that man in too many banana hammocks till after last time now. He milked that, didn't it?
He just like, you still like that, John and all. When they did, like the few episodes is on, it's not the Todd were they suddenly he's good. Dad, I don't want to wear a bit of a kind of, I stuff. And then I pulled out the mask of suck girls.
Don't worry. So we all start to like fuck man. This was a short, that used to go at six o'clock. This wasn't a big tool.
Like, just trying to get a bit of the other stars now. Because I said it was Jerry's, was a Tara Reed. I played Danny. Yeah.
She was actually quite good in it. I was that Jordan sister. Jordan says, I can't believe I missed enough of my favorite one as well. Michael J.
Fox. Michael Fox, yes. And it was absolutely, we had just legal. Yeah, forgot about that.
That was like kind of a little almost comeback, wasn't it? Yeah. I think it was just like, he wanted to do something at that time. Like, it must have been so difficult.
But the Rawleys Parkinson did it really well by seeing the other Raw CD. That's what he does now. Yeah. He does a lot of acting where a person with a disability can play a set disability.
I think it's absolutely brilliant. But yes, got off. What about that? And the roof toilet, the most way you'd have an obscure thing you can have a joke about.
What a fucking toilet on the roof where I wanted to say goes there and be free. Let's be honest, would you take a shit in the roof toilet? I would. But yeah, you're on your own there.
You're all big heads. I probably would. So. Is that a pissy?
I can say it's for Elliot Reed as well. Like, say the last thing he did is Sarah chalking us. Sarah chalk. Yeah.
Just a few things. The best betky. Oh, the best betky, yes. The best betky.
Yeah. She's also in How I Met Your Mother and She's a bitch in that. I think it was called Stella in that. She didn't like stop.
But I absolutely adored it. Just like say for them elements. So it's so neurotic. But the jokes I used to come out with as well.
Just because you couldn't say private parts like the jingle. Like I said, I've already called them to say what I did like her and JD's relationship. When they were right, because they were perfect like there. When you get couples that kind of match or do well.
It kind of fits. But I'd say all the cast as well like Jordan's. Like say was absolutely brilliant. I'm sure she was one of the like Jordan's wives as well.
She was married to the guy that wrote it. Right. Because in the episode where Dr. Cox realises he's still in love with that.
And there's like wedding photos and wedding video and stuff. That's their actual wedding video. That's the actual wedding photos and things. Obviously like they've got a reason to build something.
I think they've cut him out of it. That's like a genuine that's a genuinely. Jordan has some of the best comebacks. Like the top Dr.
Cox's. She had venom in her tone when I loved it. I was living. But I was honestly, I just wanted to see her all the time.
I didn't know shit about L.E.L.M. I can't think of Tyra twice in the M.O. Carla. Carla.
But her, she was just a powerhouse. She was pretty much. I love how much she took her piss out of herself as the show, as the series went on. Like with the plastic surgery and I love that.
They never made like a shame. Think about like she was a very sexualised woman. She was quite like strong. I'd say independent as well.
She didn't need Harry. She did not need Dr. Cox at all. I'll say I love the episode as well when she has all the Botox and her face.
Because there's something in your old kid called her mom. And Dr. Cox is doing this. Do this.
Just like this is never changing. To the point where she just nays them in the balls and walks off. My absolute favourite Jordan moment is it's quite early on. It's one of the last episodes.
And it's when that was sitting around, it's very last seen. And that was sitting in the cafeteria. That was sitting around and she walks in and just drops every single secret that she knows about them. That's what she was all about.
And then walks off and they're all just like left it and they're going. And then they're all looking at each other as well. Because it wasn't, I think if he memory goes right. It was the G.D.
He's like with Jordan. Yep. And I think it was something of a JD. Dr.
Cox was in love with the Carla. Yeah. And that Bob had a promotion, was already given the promotion to someone else. That you've been down there.
Dang, Dr. Cox was like, that was like all the secrets that you kind of dropped. And like the one with JD as well. And she said, oh, I snuck with me, look, the follow JD was good.
All them elements. But yeah, I think she was like one of the strongest characters in there. And when she had a week moments as well, it was done well. Because I think during Ben's feeling like Brendan Fraser's.
Dr. Cox was struggling when he was saying about the heartbeats being there, like a friend. And he didn't realize that they were there because Jordan needed them there, not because they were just hanging around. Yeah.
I thought that was like good touches, good writing though. That's the thing. What's in Jordan being a man? Yeah.
And the realistic aspects of being a man, because it's not all lovey-dovey. I love my child. Like there is moments where parents don't. And Jordan really showed a true side, a parent of it.
Yeah. And I loved it. Which is sitting there smiling at him when I'm going to kill you. I'm sure she says at one point, like I love him to death.
But at the same time, I don't love him. I don't. She was just, it's just an honest love to parenthood. And she really portrayed it with a lot of, a lot of dignity, like towards like mothers, like working mothers, but working parents, they're both did it.
And it was really good. I really love Jordan's character. I mean, do I have a character? For me, the defining moment of Jordan and Dr.
Cox's relationship, was once you found out she was pregnant and she didn't know whether it was Dr. Cox's. And he was just like, okay, let's do this. Yeah, it doesn't matter.
Because I was the one with, again, another company over at Conneum, she was like, famous actor like in the 90s. I think she might be in the videos doing a camera number thing. When she was trying to play off Jordan with, like, because Dr. Cox was dating her at the time.
And Jordan decided that I would have, I was like, I don't know. How do you like, yeah, that's the one? Yes. And Jordan was heavily pregnant.
And so they're trying to seduce Dr. Cox, like bending over the pickle pencils. And then I can say the whole switch of room, which you could see coming a mile away, but you're glad it was. And, and, and, and, and, probably the worst of Dr.
Cox was the decision, difficult. And he just goes, not a second, and he paused through drinks. And, and Jordan's going, you didn't want pregnant. He's going, yep, they're both for me.
And he doesn't want that. That's on both. That's, yeah. Yeah.
I like that, like, say that that blazer. And again, a sad episode as well, when you find out how Dr. Cox and Jordan split up. And he's very, very, very, very, former pro to you, probably, she had slept with, slept with Jordan when she was the one from a bad batch.
But he was like a private practice doctor. And JD was looking up to room and stuff. And kind of... He was in a, I guess, don't climb them very well, otherwise.
