You don't have the style of animatronics that you do if you don't have Jim henson and he did this for a favor for the director But he came out and said that this was one of the most violent movies he's ever worked on This is not something that he wanted in his catalog and because Jim henson said this is violent Like this is violent It just caught onto everyone and if you really look at this movie and you look at the fight scenes There is not one fist hit age or or hit body part It's just a lot of flying bodies a lot of movement and a flying body It's not really that violent, but Jim henson is the reason why people thought it was so violent because it's Jim henson And he's lovely and he did muppets and you know very un-right and yeah, everyone believed it That's There you go. Um, I I got to say the american version That must have been really dark like the coffee because this movie is dark as shit It was the ones where the use of the use of the video TF It was a calm quarter copy from within the cinema And there was a video to copy over video TF so you have to have the white snore over it every so often And every so often it kind of blows up you're trying to make sure it's up to try to saw us rex attacking Michelangelo or the events But it was my favorite ever Chess that I owned and I would not let out my site for so long Like say when I watched this movie and as I said when I went to see it at the cinema because I had to experience it on the big screen as well I was so I was so weird seen As the late pointed out with the scenes that I've seen in the vhs weren't in so the end didn't make sense The whole like say the fight where Michelangelo went to do the nunchucks battle And he does the spinning thing that that back all was gone in it. Um, but it is very much a carbon copy to the original cop comic Yeah, first little run like the first few issues. It was just like a shredder and tattoo the bald guy and then going to the teenagers like hey kids I've got some cigarettes and video games I mean there's a second It's a shredder walk There's a shredder walk I'm kind of caught because I didn't know the cap so the police just be shredderized it Oh yeah I shredder shredder is terrifying as well with these like he comes out and he gets his shoulder knives out and he's like oh children I am the shredder and it's like there's like 100 kids around and I just like think you know that uh michaland web where the like the Nazis and it's like oh my god he's just looking like hang on a second No he's a pillar of the community exactly There were family Lee, remember that there were family and I loved how much of a send up it was like because at the time I think Marlle had the martial art group at hand so they kind of take the pace while they're all going to do the foot even though it's more ridiculous It was a party of death level very much so but I absolutely love when Splint is telling the story of how he'd got trained in the martial arts and you see the little rat in the cage mimicking he's master's moves and stuff and I love the fact that he knows on his face and doesn't kill the rat he just takes his ear but that whole scene and like the whole split of telling the stories was like some of my favorite things as a kid I don't know it like still lives up and still works out now like when I was a kid I didn't realize that they're like explaining everything because like at the start there's all the new stories being like oh it's like in an old Japanese town like the Japanese immigrants are saying it's just like what used to happen to them like an old ninja story and then yeah like when he's like I don't like those turtles I recognize that's fighting style he's like you can't let it go I think then as soon as he sees Splinter he's like you did this to my face he calls him a rukusaki he kills my master and he's good finish off what I did with your ear and the superior engagement and the stratosphere so you can't meet him now what about you leak what are the standard moments for yourself don't say it won't be your shorts this is this is the first time I've thought I saw this cinema when I was about four year old I think wow but I didn't pay attention to a lot of it then because I was only four and I ran around the cinema and started to tell the attendant me to sit down I don't know I don't love to slap you well that's probably still now but no it's just from start to finish it's just such a happy film no matter what's going on like this it's like this defined the 90s it came out in 1990s and this just sets the president for the rest of the world yeah in 1980 so even though it was released in 1990s it was made in the 80s I'm not getting in the hard act I feel like if it was made even a year earlier like even the soundtrack would have been completely different than what it'd been fighting to like rock music but instead it's so happy because like there's all these like serious like ninjas we will kill you but t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t! it just makes it cheerful all the way through that comes back in the second one as well and it's like the big pizza montage I'll start it's the same song I'm pretty sure lunch a little clip you there because as a kid I was not happy when Raphael was dying in a bath. I still think that part's really weird, like sort of sad and gross.
There is more 10 minutes in the middle that's very emotional. I'm much back there. It's so sad. I get it now but as a kid I didn't understand why I didn't put Raphael on a bed or on somewhere comfortable but it's a total what?

But I also get what Lee's saying. Yes this movie is not all happy and singing and dancing but it's how it makes you feel watching it as an adult. I absolutely love the I love what you said about the splinter and constantly talking about what he's passed and it almost gets to the point where he's actually going to finish that story.
Because he started. I can speak like this is something he always brings up. It's like one of us if we get the same thing I'll tell each one about the goonies and how I watch the goonies and now goonies start them nerdy up north that is our origin so it's like one about the origin of his life now. It's like nobody asked him but almost like nobody asked him and he just comes out with it.
I just I do love the whole vlog this I had such a ride this afternoon watching it. I thought I was just going to be pissing around on my phone while I was on in the background and I ended up sitting watching the whole entire thing. I love the way the turtles look in this. I think whenever I think of them I always look back on these and think that's the epitome of what the turtles look like.
Even though I was so controversial doing not here because I didn't mind the Michael Beer ones. I actually don't mind. I want to go out there and see it's never been a bad turtles movie. It's just three.

I had to go thing on and we've been on the floor watching it and I thought he loved it. But yes, because with the turtles there's not been a bad turtles movie. There's just been one brilliant turtles movie. Who's was great but the first turtles defined anything they came before and came after.
Like say there's been fun films but nothing has got to the level that we got with this movie. And that might be the nostalgia factor or the fact that I'm watching it through rose-tinted glasses. But there's elements to it that are just fucking outrageously good. Like the whole bit where they're in the apartment and the hiding and the going round and you see them for glimpses just like randomly Michelangelo hiding under a fucking table.
That is where an injured would be ridiculous. Then when you look back he's disappeared. Donatello is hiding in the bathtub and you see him put him out from the bathroom and you pull it back. He's not there but then you see shell hanging from the ceiling.
There was a little element there. It's just absolutely hilarious. Like the whole pizza, the guy with the pizza delivery is sort of iconic at the time. Just because Domino has done the whole advert and that's how Domino has got bigger than Pizza Hut.
Sorry to say I have a fair pizza. But Domino has got bigger than Pizza Hut due to the fact of the Martin campaign that every delivery had to be there for before 30 minutes. So you got it for free and the turtles used that in the movies and I thought that was brilliantly Martin. Yeah Pizza Hut actually put in a 20 million marketing campaign for the Turtles movie.
Yeah it was Domino was those with product placement. And that just makes absolutely no fucking sense. But the demo was made. The pizza Hut said I'll make a big list.
So it's a little better than them now. True. Yeah actually you could argue that that was like a bad thing and Domino's literally that there won't be a fine juice sewer house. But no it still works on this day because I had Domino's tonight specifically just because that's a famous movie so it's fucking work.

I'll then say if you can see how people actually live. How does she live in such a bad place when she's a TV personality? And has her own antiques business? You do know what Bjork was like in the 1980s and 90s.

And like during the Antiques fight to guess the call the station's fired in case he overhears it so that he can tell out what the farm has.
It's like everything's probably like tied up neatly as far as like even if it's stupid. Yeah. Oh there is probably a way I would describe it. This movie has got so many stupid fantastic things that happens into it.
But that's part of the charm of this book. Together if we are going to start picking a part of the movie that is about four teenage turtles being new and up and being trained in the ancient art of ninja by a rat. I think that's having a few little little teething problems here and there is just taking some time to see it. Yeah they didn't do a amazing job because like this must have been hard to get past a lot of like execs and like like it was weird black and white comic about turtles.
The prize is not like it was very much this movie was very much wanted. Because of the cartoon I guess. Because of the cartoon. Yeah because of the cartoon and it was the merchandise as well.
It all comes back to the toys. Maybe further. The toys were so hard to get their hands on when we were kids. Like back there.
The movie toys are the old ones. The old ones. The movie ones weren't. I'll admit it now.

And the woman behind the same when I was buying the turtle figures in the end of the dinner and she was like oh are these for your kids? Was it no?
It's good for me. And she was like look at those. I was like no no these turtles figures are for my childhood. Like they shouldn't be selling these.
And she was like like this. But we thought I'd already been told off because the one that we sell on these figures just yet because they were sold. Well that's something for them having them out. Yes.
They should never have had them out. My husband sorry my mother-in-law's house it has a lot of fun. It's bad. It's bad.
And my mother-in-law has kept all of ant turtle toys. They're all in the loft. I just I'll just say is if you want them go and get them. That's what you can say.
I'm going to say Sam if you want to continue being on the daily up North podcast there is going to be some black meal coming into this now. It's payments and turtles for an hour. Payment is do you bitch. Just go up there with your ninjutsu skills fall and sneak into somebody's loft.
And there was something interesting that I found out about the filament of this which I thought was brilliant when I was watching the movie and they recorded the film the turtle scenes because it was very hard to sync the animatronics to the voice because they move very slow. So they had to film it in a 25 frame per second. So they could speed it up to then slow it right back down to then be able to fit the voice to the movement. All right.
A lot of work. That's a lot of work. But that's what made it. See what I'm making when I was reading about it and then watching it was like fuck me that is sorted like the 90s.
That is so fucking cool. So yeah that had to speed it up to then bring it back down against everything all things into place. I don't think it's hilarious. I think we had like Sam Rockwell rocking up in here as well.

It was weird like they had like tea strainers on their eyes. That outfit was almost it was like they crossed over the one of the putty men from Power Rangers. Yeah. That's decided.
Well just put a ninja dagger, a red rambolfing round their head and you know tea strainers and that was really pure choice for henchmen. So I know I've read this or if I've just heard it and when if it's true or not what was the shred based off a cheese grater. I mean that's why you might be like I've heard that before. American is called the cheese grater cheese shredder.
It's like an episode of the cartoon where like shredder gets turned into Michelangelo. Like he gets hit on the head and then he's like acts like Michelangelo. But every time someone says shredder he turns back. He's like hey look he's like hey someone's left cheese on this shredder.
I'm not like shredder. I think the use of giving him a cheese grater head and stuff like that in the comics as well. And I know we have had multiple shoot of different movies but the only thing that does leave is a little bit flat is the fact that we do get seen to get the same bird guys over and over again. Like who would you have liked to have seen like I know we've got the new animation one where it's got like seems like a 15 million different bird guys but who do you feel like we've missed out on seeing like a live action like Raw because for me it would always have to be leatherhead.
I always wanted to see like crocodile versus the turtle skin live action just for the sheer craziness how much that would have caused like seeing a suit mead full of that as well. But yeah like in that like thematically it's this because it's like you need another weird aquatic monster and I always wanted to see Baxter Stockman because like I feel like we never got to see like a human fly on stream but any like turtles thing apart from the cartoon because they always teased it and others that but never actually like did it. I think he was cutting out the first one I believe. Yeah.
Had him roll into the actual movie like Baxter Stockman had apart but it's supposed to be in cut but yeah. I was surprised I've never done mouses apart from I think maybe in the Michael Bay one you know those like little robots that shoot the suit. Yeah, terrifying. They're commenting like the most annoying things in the games as well.

I think the release and the total three action figures again like I thought the neck of the one's just the San Diego release where I was like nearly 200 pound for the four. Like I didn't branch out to that one but the neck of one's always going to exactly I picked up the nail over the weekend.

They could definitely do us like a serious one.
They could even do that last Ronin thing that we'd be able to have a generation. That's what I was going to mention as well. Because I am very much excited about this. The idea of doing a game.
They're all bringing out a new game. It's all coming out this year on Xxur. What is based on the last Ronin story? So basically anyone who doesn't know the release the comic last year and it is healed as what is the best Turtles comic that's ever been wrote.
I'd say Story Wise where three of the brothers have been killed. And the story is it's called the last Ronin's the last up trying to avenge all these Turtles brother and that's been gone.
