Hello and welcome to the Nerdy of North Podcast, the Nerdy Podcast hosted by two Northern Nerds. I'm one of your horse, Sam. And I'm the other horse, Paul. And this week is episode nine.

Yes, we've got to die. We're still talking. We still haven't had a fight yet, isn't it amazing? Yeah.

So this week is cartoons. Yes, our favorite card, the top five favorite card in TV shows, which I thought would have been a lot easier than it has been, but it turned into a bit of a mind-fock. Yes. To put up a light.

I just said before we started this, that my list is boring. And I'm hopefully going to entertain you by singing a lot, because there's one of them that I know the theme song of. And I've put the like of the husband with it last night. So I'm going to do the same to you as well.

That's a very good point. A lot of the theme tunes from the cartoons about childhood, like the 80s, were either amazingly good or so awful. Like you've been stuck in your head for a bit. You've probably been with them.

They're rattling around your brain right now. Yeah, definitely. And until three, this morning, watching the intro was two 80s and 80s cartoons because I needed some inspiration because I needed some inspiration because as all we are leaving since the last minute. And I said to him, I need a list for cartoons.

And he went, I don't know why you pick cartoons, because I'm not a cartoon person at all. And I was like, right, we'll have a look through some lists. And we just ended up singing the majority of the songs because the songs were so 80s and so catchy. It was good fun, but we lost nearly like a whole night.

Do you want to? Sounds like a good night, though. That's not very jealous. It's not the best time we've done this, by the way.

It happens once and once again or something. We lose about a little bit of hours of our lives Oh, that's good. I wish I could actually use the natural interest of the cartoons in the past. You know what YouTube's like, we'll get shut down within a minute.

Exactly. You've got to be careful. So you just have to rely on my singing. So have we got anything to cover before we get into it?

Yeah. Just to go back on the topic that you started a few weeks ago, I come out and know your businesses. Which I totally forgot to do last week. Sorry.

I think we're going to introduce a little things here and there because as we grow, I think we'll learn new things and as the feedback comes as well. So we're trying to entertainers and give useful knowledge as well. So a lot of listeners, if you're listening, you'll probably know about a few of the other gig shops. So if you do know any as well, get in touch.

Let us know. Comment, email, exam on the Facebook group, which is an early up-nore community or an Instagram, which is this early up north, which again, this will work quite well. So just to promote a shop app used quite a lot during lockdown as well, it's called Be More Geek, which is a Newcastle just outside of Gringe Margaret. There's also a shop in the Metro Centre, just around the corner from Primark and also a shop in the Metro Centre.

It's pretty little one in the Metro Centre, but it's quite clean. Oh, yes, I know where it is. It's a giant spy in the window. Yeah, it used to be a Harry Potter shop, though.

No, no, that's the big one over the road from Gringe Games. It's like upstairs, there's a bit where you go around, where the barrier is above it. Yes, yes, I know exactly where the barrier is because it's quite a bit of a rich shop. I suppose you'd be getting the other ring range of the discordant.

I'm already pre-ordering M Gandalf. I was just talking to Vic about this the other day from the Gelsrecht-Bach. And she really liked the Gandalf. I was like, I really liked Rodo, but Rodo's not my hero in Lord of the Rings.

So, Rodo's not the hero of that story. The hero is Sam. I want a Sam. And I thought if I get Rodo, I'm going to do that on annoying invoicy doors, it's an impression of Rodo all the time.

So, the main thing is I'm pre-ordering M Gandalf. Not as well. Vic is one of the nicest people I've met. Well, not met in Percy, but I spoke to some of the media.

And again, if you don't follow her channel, the Gelsrecht-Bach, she is hilarious and she loves her toys. She does. She does. She does.

She does. She does. She does not. She does not.

She's kind of you like the rest of social activity. And we are there for win Space. She does away from me, so she does say the whole micro femur playing with the little story. She does, right?

I just like,Battle Margjustis, how we bonded, there were a lot of the rings. I just love the girl. I love her accent. She's just for Querky.

I just want to get around this show. We need to find a good sensual Lily, so she's very busy. Yes. And just to move back in a few more games, there's a badangel.

the neck I figure as well, I've got all the Halloween, like I say Scream, Jason and Levapheus and I've got all the total movie figures from there as well, and I've always been. Even more jealous. And I always do give us great deals. And the guy who runs out, I don't know his name, but I've interacted with him on Facebook and on Instagram when being doing the other thing, he's always been really kind of friendly as well.

And when you go on the shop, it's not where you go when you feel uncomfortable. But they do have an amazing range, like they do the hard to get cops as well, like I say where people call the grills. So if you have a hard to find pop, get in touch with them and they will always find a way to find a ticket for you. Support them.

Yes. Because there's another shop in Newcastle which I'm not going to mention in the name of. You don't need to go do business with them, basically. Use these guys because the nice, they come across lovely on their social media.

And they are not during lockdown. I think it was them who were doing their own threes. Yeah, they don't go across. Yeah.

Like, come on. I know a lot of businesses don't need to do that, but they went out of their way to like, you know, these little figures do give a lot of joy to people and they kind of understood that. I really like them. I like them.

So that's my little tip of the day for support all businesses. Support your local, did you just make them look down when you did it? When all over teenager on it, yes. Well, so we got our main feature which is as always, our top five of a topic which one of us is chosen.

And this was kind of a joint one because we are trying to like, like spread things out and make sure that we're not doing the same thing that we did the week before. Or we can't keep it in interest. And so we went with cartoons. The Facebook page is always quite a popular topic.

A lot of people do like to talk about them. And I'm is without being our age now. I'll probably some watch many of the cartoons that I watch when I go in or I love them. And you try and I see I love this cartoon.

And I try and tell you why I love it. I'll be fucked. Yeah. This is what I thought when I was writing the list out because I picked it last night.

I wrote it all down this morning and I'm like, Oh, hopefully I can hold a conversation about this. I really do. I hope that I can. So do you want to kick it off?

Yeah, yeah. Like I said, with my five, I went for the pretty much the first five that came in the head as well. Which I'm quite surprised at the not as all as I was expecting. And I was expecting to go really old because I grew up with Cardio network.

And we're not first I've launched. Thank you. This is why you were like, that's been working on very well because he was the same. So all of the shows on that is the watch.

But the first time I'm going for this is probably the oldest one in the list, which again, me dad will not say to us because he loves the very old ones. So 1987 it was released. It's about eight, sorry, seven seasons. When it was released in the UK, it changed the name of it because it's all the name.

In America was too violent and there was four brothers. So in the UK, we got the Teenage Mutant Pea Rotals, but everywhere else got the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. So when the release of the thought Ninja sounded too violent. Even though the Korean summer, like the Korean swords round and yeah, I don't think the reason with that one UK, but I didn't pick this one because I knew you would be.

I was obsessed. This was my obsession as a kid. Like I love the titles. I remember I didn't watch it from the first time.

So I think I just when you know, when you're just flipping for your channels, when you're OK with your bedroom and I think it was just going BBC one where you say all the cartoons is to show at certain times that when you finish skills like half three till six o'clock, these are solid cartoons and the turtles was one of them. And it was one where I'd say the big techno drone came into view and these turtles were trying to get into the techno drone and this little grim thing called crang and shredder and rocks. I'm bebulk all there. And it was just like the most bizarre thing I'd ever seen.

But the thing that catches you in. Keeps you as what we talked about fall is the thing to you. So as soon as that starts, even bigger of a tells you can hear like teenage mutant, he wrote a hurdles and it goes in like a little Raphael Raphael, Donatello, Michael and Slinner. This was so bright as well.

The colors and I know we grew up in the 80s and everything was bright. But even then this, I'm tired of believe that such a vibrant and kid for anything come from quite an adult comic. I don't know if you've read the original tell comics, but it looked into it. But the very expensive.

I've not read them, but if you watch the toys that made us on Netflix, we go into the whole history of it. So interesting. I took them to make us fall out and stuff like that. I love that show.

But the elements of the show as well, it was like, what was going on? Each of them had different personalities. Everyone had the favorite and my favorite. Was Michael Angelo?

Oh, he was mine too. He was a sister. We were talking about us tonight. I know that he was your favorite turtle.

And he went, well, who was it? Raphael? He was like, you're the coolest. I went, I'm like, Michael Angelo.

That kid had his shit together. And he was like, what do you mean? I went pizza. And then he went, ah, well, that makes sense.

Peeker and party. My two people always, Michael Angelo and Donatella. I didn't really like Raphael. I thought he'd be here about that issue.

But that was maybe a teenage kid. Well, not even a teenage kid. You're getting younger than that. Yeah, I know that's scary because a lot of people think the turtles came out in the 90s.

But I think that's when I was going to juice the turtles more. Yeah. Like, in 1987 was when the cartoon actually did get released. And I know that they did bring out a film, which I absolutely loved.

It's the easiest thing in the world. I love it. What I could can't believe as well, because I watched it recently, the UK original cut was cut to pieces because of Michael Angelo. Did you notice?

No, I didn't. Because at the time, the Nunchucks was a band-wet. And then the UK. So the film couldn't show Michael Angelo's Nunchucks in the film.

So every time Michael Angelo was using the Nunchucks, it was cut out. And the big way it was trying to spread a fight at the end of the spoilers. And spent his time around. He used the Nunchuck to grasp, shredd it.

And he keeps him hanging out for a while. Or the original cut. He just threw him off. It doesn't harm.

So if you watch it now, it's a little bit of a different film. I think it was a good, I would say, 15 or 20 minutes of the film cut out. What about an idea about when we were kids? This, the turtles was such a phenomenon.

Like if you watch the toys at Mirdos, that gives you the history of the creation. It does not give way to the gravity of how impactful this cartoon and the movies were. Because we didn't get it. And I watched a couple of ago, who I'm friends with Laura Legends on YouTube.

And she did a lot of up to the toy collector and nostalgia. And she did a whole thing on the turtles musical show they did. And it's the creepiest thing you've ever seen. It's real life, then turtles from the films.

Doing a rock concert. Oh, god. It is the most surreal thing you've ever seen. But that's how big it was.

Like it was huge. I know it was impossible to get the figures as well. Because when the figures first came out, I think I managed to get any hands on Donna Tello. But could I shake a mic on Julie and I'd walk out?

It's 2021. It was still having the same issue with turtle figures. They bring out new lines and people are still having issues now getting the figures out. And getting them, it's ridiculous.

It's mind blowing how these four turtles have impacted since the 80s. Even today. Really? There's a rumor.

Not a rumor that it was announced. I think it was about two or three weeks ago. That's Seth Rogen's doing the reboot of the film. That does.

I'm very happy about that. I don't know if it's going to be a card in a live action. I don't know if the last attempts of live action weren't. But I don't think they're going to be.

But it didn't affect as much as I did when they've done the courses. Oh my god. I just thought it. Oh shit.

Never mind. I just thought it won. Goddamn it. I think I know where you're going.

Yeah, it wasn't on. Yeah. Okay. Right.

Sorry. Back to the turtles. Yes. I remember as well.

I posted this story in the first case today. Just because we're talking about things that we used to do. Trying to be an act. Things that we watched is okay.

I was always the way it came out. Like to try and. Be like, say, I think like a pop culture or thing. And I had this brilliant idea one day that I was going to dress up like a turtle.

I didn't have the outfit. So I got me back back. Filled it up with so much shit to create a shell. I put a bandana around my head.

It was just a tie or something from a dance. I went outside holding two pencils and they were my size. So I was lucky to walk around the streets of right. So yeah.

So I saw a little weird one around. Like looking like I was going to start a show. I really wasn't. I was just trying to be a turtle.

That is awesome. I have them. I can't promote a bit of a. I wouldn't say a big family.

There was 10 grandkids. And we were every day in the song holidays. We were always together. Always.

And apart from all this cousin because he was like, he's the oldest cousin is the one who got me into everything. And because of him, like all of my nerdiness really just come from his childhood. I stole it. I literally hijacked his childhood because it was the time that was only me and him.

But the two oldest and then the rest of them came along a few years later. But in the summer we were always together. Turtles was always on the telly because it was on breakfast TV. It was on at seven o'clock in the morning.

And without parents or working parents, we got dropped off at our grandparents house, put in front of the telly until it was about eight about reasonable time to go outside. And then we'd be outside all the time. And my grandparents, which is literally like two seconds away from us, we used to have this massive tree. It was so old and it was so climbable.

So we had the perfect groups to get into it. And it's not turtle related. It's just put it with power hinges. We were power ranges.

I convinced my cousin that he would be able to jump out of the tree. And he jumped out the tree and brought me some. And that was the last time we'll ever be able to climb the tree again. I thought you were going to supervise with your cousins.

I know when I was in the office. But that's what we did. We would just be stuck in front of the telly watching cartoons until we were allowed to go outside. And that was the last time we used to.

Oh my God. No, no, no. I remember when I found this memory of wealth of the turtles, those who I see are from some of them in the North East down in the Royal Gopage. They're smugglers.

And next was I got really run down arcade. It's still there. But in the turtles arcade game. I lived down at the time.

So I'm doing this on the holidays. I was just able to stay in the Jaws school back to a previous podcast. And I would spend like as much money. I'm trying to complete the title game where you see a side school or straight fighter.

But use the picky eye. It could be four players. Any kids around the youth getting to join in and use the fight. But the.

I always remember that, and this goes back to my weirdness of being able to remember feeling of things. I remember the handheld game. I'm sure someone put it on the group as well. Oh, yeah, like a green.

Problem. Yeah, and it had to kind of like the top circle controls. And a couple of buttons. I always remember that.

that is to try and help them dodge things and stuff as well. Yeah just fight my cousins to go over it. That's my first make for Teenage and I'll go to it's properly in there. Ninja to be in there right okay so um oh I might swap one out.

I know which one you want to go. I can't because I've got nothing written on it so I'm not gonna right we're going back to 1988 right it's British yeah I up until last night generally thought the the person who did the voice over leading to the intro song has been some price it was not um it was done by the company Cosgrove Hall films which only nothing to was. Fun fact about this cartoon it's a spinoff of Dinger Mouse. What?

Yeah it's been off of Dinger Mouse it also falls into the nerves realm in a way because it was a monthly comic as well. Right yeah it's Count Doppula. Count Doppula in the heart of Transylvania. It's not the Dinger.

Have you mentioned Count Doppula? Count Doppula. I asked either vegetarian vampire which is right up my street given that I am vegan and he's also voiced by the great David Jason. Yeah and yes it was it's been off of Dinger Mouse.

Didn't know that until today. I did not know that either so how did it spin off of Dinger Mouse? Do you think I read that part? Oh I thought.

I literally thought it was a spinoff to Dinger Mouse because this is the conversation we're having earlier like I'm not gonna watch this again I just remember being like a kid and absolutely I think it was a day of Jason aspect of it because Dinger Jason was like huge in my house like over the years. So the porridge was in and obvious being only goes in houses. And it's just a strange about what Carl did but I remember like later watching the Robbie Horror picture show and getting Count Doppula vibes from that. Just because like seeing the characters in like the big chicken, honey.

Yeah because and then you look like them no no. Yeah so I don't know if I actually used I probably don't know if it was around the same time being a character from that. I know it's generalized horror icons as well like the Butler and stuff as the guy that helped him when he was supposed to put blood in but would catch up in when he created a regular book. And I thought all these adventures around like they're trying to be scary but he ended up being like the nicest vampire ever and then the Butler trying to turn him into being something more than he was but I remember that one yeah he's gone was it on ITV or something on the mornings.

So I think he's a beautiful in fact for you so Count Doppula was created by a British studio of Cosgrove Hall film which I mentioned earlier. I had a spinoff of Dinger Mouse. I didn't explain the spinoff but it just is that. In 1984, Nickelodeon acquired the US broadcast rights of Dinger Mouse which became a hit for the channel after a few years Nickelodeon then bought out Cosgrove Hall so they are that is now Nickelodeon.

Yeah and apparently a new version apparently a new version already been done in 2015. Book off. Yeah did not know that. When I looked at it.

Did not know that. I picked it because the song because every time it comes on one of those lists we watch I get a little bit excited. It reminds us of it reminds us of living in the street I live in now because I didn't I didn't venture very far and I'm literally two seconds away from the house I grew up in and it reminds us of that house. It reminds us of me dad a lot.

My dad loves cartoons like my dad loves stock motion cartoons as well and trucked off and more for like huge in our house and I'm sure this used to play around the same time trucked all was on. It's quintessential British horror as well though that's the thing. A lot of the horrors and stuff that has that kind of failed to it. I've only just started appreciating how to horror now in my 30s.

I didn't appreciate it as because it wasn't as glamorous as universal horror and the universal monsters that didn't have that glamour to it but as I'm getting older I'm starting to see the rigolistic side of it and I do get what you mean by that it does have a hammer vibe to it. Very tongue in cheek doesn't take time. I know more cartoons now obviously we take themselves to a series of people at that time. I can't explain it with...

I can't see the name and I'm smiling. Yeah exactly that's how I felt last night. How I had to put it on my list and because you kind of not it takes you back to and it's not just it's not like the scene of the whole last week where you're trying to stand by me and how that like took you back into your childhood and you know your little adventures used to make for yourself. This was your home memories.

This was being in the house and watching cartoons laughing. Yes and I can make it when I picture it I can picture my old living room. I can picture bit of my old living room. I love stuff that I can do that is film with the TV shows but something is something that's a card that I don't think you don't really think about too much.

We'll take it back within seconds and again if you're listening you're probably saying the same thing if you if you're from our age range there anyone to say that they haven't watched can't totally enjoy it. If you didn't stop listening to the door don't make it. Please listen please like us. It made a smile.

It was like a little born feeling. I was like I can't not put it on there because I'd be lying to myself that I do really love this or loved this card room. So that's my number two pick. Count Dr.

Kila. Good pick. There you go. And just to give you a point as well and I was telling you that you won last week's which isn't theatre so I can't argue.

I got to your dad. Right so my next one again it's I wouldn't say it's a modern one it was 1997 it was five seasons of it. With this one it was during the whole MTV so a lot of people were drawn to like the more edgy ocarbons and this one was probably the opposite to the other one that was out at the time. I didn't mind the other one which was Vegas and put it.

But to me I couldn't I didn't relate to it. I couldn't get with it. And this one one one of my best friends like so not this is the podcast because she has no pop culture anyway but she reminds me of the main character of this so much which was Daria. Oh Daria.

Oh. So I was probably going through the teenage years at this point as well. So 1997 was just like say what the years after I was leaving school or back I called it. Well calm you to it's made.

We didn't start school. It was 99. No. I left our left I left comprehend the school in 99.

I started college. So you're younger than me. So I was just going to like 16 teenage years. Yeah I do forget that we didn't we didn't meet on my first year of college we met on outside second year which would have been your right.

Yeah. So all that. That's fine. For them growing up in riot and so on and if anyone knows the place it's not very well known for people who are alternative or have like say the type of things I like.

Like I said I think I sent the podcast for some of my friends wanted to go out on the weekend and steal cars. I wanted to go at the pictures. So that was the tradeoff I would play football with them or hang out with them. But when they start doing stuff like that that was always my stop point I would always like revert to watch and TV or watch and film.

So this stage show like it was quite great because Daria is quite moody she's quite sarky and it's it's it was close ahead of its time because I don't think it's as well known as well. It wasn't well known at the time but it was really I think it got popular as going like the artwork and it as well it was quite working almost a little bit realistic. Like say Daria and a friend Jane down with the two Goths like no Goths all tend to people in the group I used to look down at people then you had a little Britney Taylor who was the bimbo of Cheelator who was just completely mental and then like say boyfriend Kevin who was the quintessential jock who just had no brains and all he wanted to do was smile and play football but the big thing that I did influenced as well the music in it it introduced us into so many different bands and I just like see I got a list of a few of the bands that was on the show like Beck was on and Bloodhound and up and we have what I think of the name of it now Blur like say I know Blur was bigger than the UK but Blur was one of the songs and like one of my favorite bands as well that I got introduced to was Soundgarden through Daria and like you know and it's stuff like that so that's why like say bands like the BC Boys like they went pretty hearing stuff like that well especially and they're not letting my passion know the music like say Pearl Jam the Smush and Pumpkins just because it was the same type of age and same type of like say film for this but that's why I quite enjoyed this like I can't really recall too many like things about the episodes and it's if you went back into any more good music and so I couldn't I can explain the characters and how the characters like kind of interacted with each other and what I used to like about it and but the thing that sounds out is it is the music because at that time growing up what I did like my mum and dad like all style like Beatles and they should do like Michael Jackson like say artist like that that's what was where I grew up. Nothing wrong with putting his name out there one of the best if not the best live shows I've ever seen I saw him any prime history to F Sheffield 96 absolutely unreal do not be ashamed of saying his name but like I said then get me into just that type of style of music was like I ought not mean for me like say I know I've put head on something similar with the music videos well I never quite liked the human bit but it was too juvenile and I'm not a fan of Dario because I didn't have my dad refused point plan to get sky television until you could record so we've been waiting a hell of a long time for it because I didn't come out until but I don't want to say a fortune has it but dad's happy to Kelly Seale and was off work for a very long time recovering from it and I think like the first year we moved into the house where the parents are now in sport any gosh it's got like you could give in but what until that point I like I was like 32 000 we didn't have so I wasn't it wasn't accessible to us and but famous and but head were the cool thing to watch so if I was at a friend's house that's what we'd be watching because then it would lead into music video I guess what they were they were like the alvira of horror movies but leading into music videos I go just in the show with simply just introducing music videos yeah but I think like the whole elements of like the famous important like I like the Dario characters more I think I think I really want to them and call for the old TV for my gumball with babies and I think I would now like if I was to watch it now I would totally relate to it and I think the reason but I feel so funny it's rather ridiculous humor it's so funny I don't think it's a film I've ever finished as well so I don't think I like that I don't think it's a movie yes and again it's one of them cartoons I can't really talk too much about but I know I love it I haven't got a phone call papa daria somewhere I'm not in here I think it's in the other rooms but yeah I put every time I see it and I think it just reminds us of like a good friend curry and she I think if I put a picture up now that would be what you would just think daria oh that's nice I'll do it and not as fast I get it these lists are hard to talk about because it isn't something like apart from one that's on my list I've not seen the rest for yours yeah like yours and I've chose these one purposely because of how I felt when I saw them on when I was watching them this last night and but yeah that's a good one I never watched it and obviously no obit you think I would have watched it yes yes wouldn't it's one of our readers it was like a few years ago and it's one after this hold up you know we watch a lot of these things that we hold in high regards from where we childhood some of them are a bit of a left-down but daria still holds up yeah some of the things and tones are a little bit behind the times but again it's still still watchable I would certainly recommend watching it now I think it's on like this it's on on demand on sky so it's easy to watch it be I might watch a couple of episodes like delete to say in my lifetime I've watched aria but it was at the back of the end the grunge scene in America as well so they would have been because I was the grunge scene was like 94 to into the night or something yeah or did grime die when cabbie and die usually well I thought that comes out of certain people but yeah I think I might have upset people with my michael jack from comment I'm very sorry I think when it comes to michael jackson you can it's a performer you can't you can't just not fault him but when you personally like everyone's going to have like a completely different opinion from everyone else and what I meant was as a performer you should be able to say his name but he very good I know that's a thing I see that's another discussion for another day just because of persons actions does then does that mean there are workers then taines or you can't go back to it yeah we've been through this we've been through this with them with Miramax and the hard-of-a-wind scene you know should should one person um should one person's actions completely taint what you are watching and to me an answer will always say not know at all one person does not discredit the hard work that everybody else put into that same book or fear because he's not the moment as well exactly what might have been on the scenes but again we'll be one there so we won't know exactly you can only there's only exactly you have an opinion on it but does it take away from what you watched for me no not at all because there's more people than that one person turning that wheel yeah that makes sense that's a bit of a dark turn darien is that what she do does she bring the darkness up doom and gloom but there is a lot of things in darien so yeah what i was uh i think we went the right way with that yes the darkness the darkness yes first it right okay so monarchs one is from it run from 1985 to 1992 it's actually and i didn't know this until today obviously but i was doing my research that is Canadian and but it was shown on a sad day morning i believe go live or go kicking or go something to want you to be on the sad morning that's go field in the kind of go for it yeah it was it was originally broadcast in kind of darien america on cbs and it's created by kevin gillis you have no idea what it is but this guy is that the main character is my hero my life was completely dictated around how his life went and it's the raccoons the raccoon birt raccoon had a lot to answer for when it comes to my upbringing there was a very long time in my life where i i mean this if you know me personally you know i have a very weird eating habits to start with it was even worse as a child it was um my eating habits offer a discussion for another time because they are absolutely horrendous for being 38 you're all i still eat like a child and i'm not 38 i'm 37 sorry but birt was obsessed with peanut sandwiches right yes so guess what so you're not so sorry yes so would i and my if you ask me what my last meal would be before executing the private executed it would be a peanut butter sandwich because that was what i lived off because birt lived obviously he was everything too and yeah he has a lot to answer for but yet it's the raccoons how many seasons did that run for because in my head he didn't run for that long but when he did it was for 19 yeah 19th i was 19th i was 19th i was 19th i didn't actually give you a series did it or did i not look at it and it has it's it's just a lot of fun like and it was addictive like really for me anyway like i think it was the first thing like a proverb that i possibly outside of what my cousin was into and obviously goresbusters was this was like the first thing i kind of nerd it out over yeah even though you couldn't you know there was nothing you just had visual to go up i think i used to record the ordinance i have this got to make us cry and i said i am just checking i think there's five seasons of it's under 60 episodes and yes well that's a lot that's a lot for a car too and he's the mind mind-blower of the day it's been rebooted and it's coming out this year i thought no one's that that's okay that's i just said the raccoons i used to love them again things that stand out to me that it had the most interesting bad guy which was Cyril Sneer and Arison you know Cyr and Cedric yeah i said like said we could i used to have a nerd yeah i used to have trouble because like when you watch as a kid i didn't quite get what the women the big so i didn't like when you look at them the way this creatures especially how pinky is but because he is really pink but he is and i saw this earlier because i wasn't too sure myself but oh my god the pigs i just remembered about the pig so we'll pick him yeah i looked it up when i got it all because i never thought they were like i needed something back was with it he's an arty car i can't say this odd walk he's an arty walk he's a very pink odd walk but uh oh it was so bizarre but like because it was raccoons it was like nature versus corporation though it wasn't that that was the premise behind the the show the raccoons lived in little tree houses and wanted things to um i loved the family um because there was birds and what was a...

Ralph and Melissa? yes. Ralph and Melissa Raccoon. But the other day it had a large sheep dog.

Oh the dog? I forgot all the dog. The dog. Oh wow.

Shaeva was the dog. It was at a morning i had to get up every Saturday morning i had to be awake for this to be on and when i learned how to use a vcr i used to record every episode and i was allowed one tape to keep re-recording all i just i absolutely loved it this was a time when i was actually only child as well so i got away with a lot. It's it's easy as arse spoil a little bit the choice because they've got all these different channels for car rooms like niggle or niggle or no no but in the day we only used to have like afternoon after finishing school used to have a little tiny time slot on the bbc where used to be car rooms and then it usually used to do the arty shows like art and zap and stuff like that. The programmes like that and i hear blue pig, kind of stand arty-body stuff because these hands don't do art.

I was always a little bit more creative so i didn't mind it as well but yeah you draw don't you? Little bit. No i'm not i use a hate art programmes apart from um oh it's probably the name we should mention more. Because i used to show car rooms but i used to do art as well.

My god these people have ruined it. Can you see why? Can you see why? Yes.

But yes um but something modern as you said used to go like copies of parents here no sorry we used to because all the car rooms used to start as soon as busy because i believe they're not kids if you listen now some of the channels had times where they used to start channel four and never used to start till seven o'clock in the morning. It's more all the way through the night so you had to wait till seven o'clock started and babysit for. And if you'd be used to have that girl on a business with a chalkboard and with a crazy family. Yeah yeah and then used to come on wasn't it like seven o'clock in the morning or something but um was it going live with those girls?

Oh there was a go live there was um and all the live and kicking. The live and kicking was one and that was with Sarah uh her ghost watch which you call Sarah Green. Sarah Green um but yeah like say we had the triple brothers that used to do it as well and Simon Simon and Swink used to do like we did. They're a bit yeah they're a bit older than ones aren't they though and then you had um oh there was so many of them I can't think but for the school field and gone with the offer.

And Andy Peters as well Andy Peters? Yes Andy Peters. Yeah going back but oh my god Jimmy Mullis. Oh god it's a it's Ewini tini me yeah Now let's now let's yeah used to like have all these cartoons that used to fit on for the day and again one of the cartoons I'm going to speak about is was I was introduced on one of their TV shows but um used to watch all this type of show just to get to the cartoons but now everything's so accessible through like demand and say on individual channels like you could probably type in the Google now or even type in the like sky watch turtles and you watch now we couldn't do that I just said we'd like to go to the world.

We had to either buy the video to episode record them off TV and sit there on the thing went to the press to be called button then jump back to try and watch it. Yeah you're still doing it. Sorry. But yeah raccoons it's not one I can really talk a lot about because I can't remember the majority of I just always remember that but raccoon was everything too and I don't want to say I might even have it's a blamed on him but the peanut butter side of it definitely is.

It was a fun one like say it was a fun cartoon I just enjoyed that. I was always again very colourful and I always used to have like as the cartoons early and he used to have used to have a message and be like be back with the planet and stuff like I'm not not polluting and stuff. I think that was always like the big things with the record. Yeah yeah because it was wasn't it with corporation versus um what's the word I want to look for because I'm not tree hogan but they were more environmentally friendly.

Yes I have very enough activists so we see it. Yes yes but yes that was my pick the raccoons. So I'll go with so it's my number three now so again I'm going for a quite a modern one so um this is quite an adult cartoon as well. It was started in 2013.

Okay it's not mine. Right okay. So as you know with me I am a huge back to the future fan and basically this cartoon is pretty much a send up of what would happen if back to the future like and the doc was a dick. It's a Rickamorty.

Oh my god right yeah I'm just okay I didn't know why you were going and then I was like yep yeah I've tried with this one. I tried Carolyn loves it. Carolyn's done a lot of work um for Rickamorty and I just got kicked. I'm sorry.

No it's one of them things I think Rickamorty is quite marmite because it pushes a lot of boundaries but again it's very self-aware as well like when they do like the episode where they just fill the loads of different clips of different things. The know the donut and the taste of it as well. The taste of themselves quite a lot and the characters are really interesting. The fact like Rick Rick Sanchez is just he is like if Doc Brown went crazy and decided he wanted to fuck the world up and he could because he's hit all these good crazy inventions and he hates being told about a do-he hates authority so he just keeps on creating havoc and you've got more of these little sidekicks as this whiny little um not I wouldn't say Marty McFly whatever he wants to be is one of me because he's not as cold as Marty McFly but uh and this is such as like a family dynamic dynamic to as well which is sort of dysfunctional it's like he's got his daughter um which is trying to not live in the car and trying to move on from her dad but she's grown in her dad um and got it uh which I'm trying to use at the end now it's um Beth that's me sorry um which I said I was made jokes after the whole doctor because she couldn't become a real doctor and stuff so probably a lower-blows thing and he'd be a jury uh her husband who is just an ultimate loser but he's kind of locked in with his family and his wife who I busy would look after him and he gets downtrodden to the point where he's so nice he'll serve him so now he's your before and dear Jerry but you always make two left but like the whole dynamic between Rick Sanchez and his family you don't have enough he actually does care about them yeah kill off characters and bring them back because there's an infinite because it's basically all there were time travel and uh balls as well so among worlds uh basically destroyed the world so much of this okay go to a world where Rick and Mory dies and basically takes over their lives and it just lives from them but it always does call back side the continuity through this show is brilliant like if something happens they'll call back to it later on and it never kind of misabates and always do groundwork as well for future series like they've been hitting that now like is a episode where is like an evil Mory and you don't know like where it's going it's just hints at him every so often and every season like Satan will go for a full season and not mention it but like then the next season there'll be a little hint or we'll bring in an episode it's so well done and again if you like pop culture and films again it's not if I don't cause a duty it's a degree where it can be quite not I wouldn't say insult but where it's trying to think of the right word where it's the T.S levels do vary to the point where you think oh that's a bit much that's too far yeah I don't have any I don't have any build up when it comes to programming this I don't look at I don't watch something and think what's a bit this case well and I'm not watching because of that and I will I'm not I'm not excited so I'll probably I don't know if they're going to be offended by by yeah I'm not that's it I'm not easily offended just with Rig and Morty it's a at this point now with the commitment and because it's been going for a couple of seasons so it's a commitment that I'm not willing to jump into quite yet because I've just done a new commitment to a program I've put off for years and so I don't think I'm ready to I've started as a pranos basically yeah it's one of the things some of the episodes tell the story but stay with us pranos the journey's worth it just this yeah he says the same thing but when it comes to Rig and Morty and I tried with the first season I think they're already I don't know whether right now but season four is whether we're just starting and I thought oh it's only three series and couldn't get past the first one but some of these are only only doing short seasons that's not like a full where America goes butch at creating games and 24 episodes it's only like how they do do a lot on there well it's kind of like a UK I think where it's only giving you like five or six episodes or eight other macks so it's not a hard thing to jump out jump in and out on but again I would always recommend it because it's fun and like I say the curators always bring in interest and curators like one of the ricks all his friends is like third person third person who then turns into Phoenix person due to what happens and stuff but even like they do it just this league type of episode which I can't remember the name and Rick Sanchez the day before the go to this big battle is pissed off because he thinks he's better than the whole league so he sets this trap for where he's already died took away all the problems and just meaning them know that they're useless and worthless so it's it's so it's not at times but also there's a bit where it makes your life as well but the good bit and where Marty Morley has a takes on the sex robot and the mutual face says I'm in the sex robot for so long but then the robot produces a baby and it's like half more your heart.

This sounds like it should be right of my strength like that sounds like my kind of humor and just I don't want the last time I've got it committed and it's not on my list so I'm happy and I don't know why it's not on my list because I do really like it the last time I watched something with that kind of series with Bob's Burgers right yeah and I'm now starting to think of things like I would have put Bob's Burgers on there but it didn't because the ones that I wanted to put on I thought were more important and now that I'm looking back it doesn't really know I should put that on oh my god that's the thing that's a problem that I really thought this is what I always find quite funny because people always think of top 5's the sweetie do because like we've done on the Facebook group many a times pick it up five people complaining and I don't have to pick a top 10 kind of not if you know it's civil rules you've got to pick them and put for us it's easy people that are five we've then got to explain why yes exactly and that's what I was describing to me I was just like well why can't you just pick top 5 it's like a text thing because we like to talk as you can probably start a journal podcast we can talk but it has to be a subject matter that we actually give a shit about otherwise we can hope yeah if you can't hold the conversation with it then what's wrong yeah and it's not and hopefully it has come across the people that listen to that as well well yes so we can only in my life just because it's something I want to know and it's something I would watch over and over and I've never been bored of it yet but it's not and it's touch wood it's not been a bad episode well I'll go into the triad I never thought it was bad it was just a commitment thing that I just I just I'm very I can start things and then and stop watching them in an instant and then go into something else I'm ridiculous the only thing I can't do with is books but committed to a book I have to finish set book and then move on to my next one but with tv series I can stop and start them throughout like I can just stop that one and then go to another one stop that one and I'm ridiculous for it my Netflix page is a mess because it's got loads that continue watching the loads of them I'm ridiculous for it we'll move on to my next one this is um this is from 1985 you know and I laughed when I found out who did it because I don't think it's pronounced the icy entertainers not dick entertainers they started I didn't know this until today I knew some of it just not the first part they started as a greeting card for a company called American Greetings and in 1983 they became push teddies and then in 1985 they got its first cartoon series so then at the end of 1985 get its first feature film feature the cab is can they are just a camera and I was crying well I was crying I thought it was the case crying I thought it used to make us cry which one the one with the book the one where yes the book terrifying that well I was annoying and last night with the um it was the I'd be like sunshine I'd make the sun shine and have a hot day camera like wish beer and I would be there would be the luckiest bears in carolot I think I've never watched the TV show about watch that film that film actually when it starts out your magician uh a little bastard of a kid who yeah goes a bit too far and then the book comes live and oh brilliant oh good but there were yeah this this is still ongoing today there is no time end on care bears because they have comic books they have figures they have cartoons even now they have um they even had a video game at some point you know this is just an ongoing franchise that started in 1985 because of a greeting card that blew my mind really and even if they got it obviously like see conventions just with people address like care bears like I like the one who's been my little brawny but what's called brawny cars don't you know oh my god have you ever watched a brawny yeah review on do a review on a my little brawny comic it is hilarious it is so funny I think the biggative these are aimed at yeah because they take it so seriously I remember I think comic book I think comic book I've been coming from a brawny convention that was hilarious and when it got dressed up and how serious the people would say they know they would take the bits um yeah think like what the like I don't mind a George Bush yeah no I'm not I'm not I just find it funny when the written the piece of comic book that is created for little children um but care bears were special because I started my love of care bears because I got a care a lot teddy bear which was part of the um l-root incident of i want to say 86 where it got burned in a fire because my mum decided to dry it was the l-root incident l-root and care a lot were on the same thing in the block of scorched but care a lot was with us for quite a few years and then all of a sudden just disappeared and I think on my 28th birthday and quarters one I think as well because there was a lot of different ones there was a little e-bear I remember that was the green one with the the popcorn balls wasn't it or the not the leaf the fully clover well I had figures as well I had care bear hard plastic figures are about they're big I know well they're not one as well I remember as well they were kind of here because I wasn't cheap then ones like no they weren't and I had quite a few and they all had like a whisper pair yes everything else was like solid plastic so not to go off the t-v show we're going back to the film because that was when they introduced not just the care bears but the other animals to them whether the cousins the lion are you harsh like I live hot shit because they were the cousins were in the forest of feelings they were going to cycle it's like a gorgeous when we're good so just how you deal with your feelings with this man yeah the care bears are going to teach you a lot but really really cloud was a really really kind of really kind of really kind of like you always had like a yeah you're sort of being cloud over his hair I don't know if I'm getting that name right but I really love the care bears I love annoying me husband with the son of this and it was just it was magical like that's the best way to describe them they were magical and I'm trying to build the arbor was done really well not many cartoons you can see it yeah wrong well but I'll give care bears a too like they said I was fantastic on a lot of the thing that I saw that and I don't like how they look nowadays but I don't like how cartoons are translated over to nowadays and we weren't under the cinema the other day and a trailer for the dog tanyan remember dog tanyan? they brought out a new dog tanyan musketagus billum and the animation of it was so weird it's like it's not it just I was like that's just not how I remember stuff and I know the cater into children nowadays and not 37 year old women but still it just didn't look right I think they're doing a lot of these days because they're doing a lot of these days because they're doing a lot of these days at the royal rubrats we may have been in like 3d by cgi maybe called Brumpy Bear by the way sorry to interrupt that's fine but a lot of the things I know I don't want to say people who are now with ideas now but I think a lot of the ideas when we have them you know were absolutely amazing so I understand trying to recreate that but sometimes it just leaves things alone yes don't touch the care bears because they're absolutely perfect I actually have a list of their names here by the way and you got tender heart right because the brown one with the red heart in the middle oh was that the leader was that the one that he was like I think he was the leader and then you got Chia Bear who was the one who had the ramble in the stomach and then Wish Bear who was pale green and with a yellow with a yellow with a star shooting across then you got Grumpy Bear, Champer, Harmony Bear, Birthday Bear and now Birthday Bear I had as a figure actually I had the majority of them as a figure but I always remember Birthday Bear because it was very yellow I think because I didn't have fun chime bear that was right in fun chime them two of the only ones that are yellow and it probably stood out and I'm going to sneeze let me and then you got a little last two I had and good luck bear friend bear did drink bear grums bear grums bear can't remember that one I can't say you'll go in the streets so the door not all that gets it it's got it like it's got it herb on its belly oh dear it looks like and bedtime bear and secret bear for the cousins where they were introduced in the film yeah but not in the tv show until like later on but even like going on google now and just typing in care bears the amount of stuff that you can buy is unreal like it's still going today the broder fongoreen thruster where you could get like all the kabes and fungal pops who would only want carolot i would only want the one that i had is a bushy toy because carolot came everywhere with us oh please don't you know you might get one for christmas special so that is my pick care bears it was special it was magical it was it was uplifting there's nothing sad about it and and if there ever was the care bear sorted out the other sorted out the film is how about that care bears stare and the film is fantastic even to do i would recommend going watching it because it will bring back some shiggy head so many many it is a bit it is it was at the time of it's scary but that boog like i got even as like a child i've said this quite a few times on this podcast i do gravitate towards the dark side of life and that boog mesmerized me like i wanted to be that booger i didn't care if i was ahead in the boog yeah the two things i just stayed with the those of the child like to be care that's what i'm scared is water shift down so i still can't watch to this day because i'm not personally i'm being born the first one the sort of service was before and the land before time disturbs us as a kid as well position we actually have a copy of land before time and the dvd that's still in itself being rather because i can't bring myself to do that to myself again i am a very sensitive person like i'm far too sensitive for my own good i can't watch programs that i've got animals in so i can't watch anything there's anything like you know when the end david anne brings out new series everyone's talking about i can't watch it because i can't physically watch them i will be depressed with days upon days afterwards because of the affected has on is i can't do films that have animals in them and so we're not going to do it top top five favorite animal films no i will not have one i will not have one i cannot watch them like all dogs go to heaven really messed me up and really messed me up had to be physically removed from the cinema because i was sobbing so much i can't do anything to do animals i am far too sensitive and cannot so do i have any that had animals in the park from the records they were the records were very different because um i'm trying to make us a good example they were more like people rather than animals slightly exactly exactly but i'm just i just can't do animals in two senses but at four times and all dogs go to heaven just mess me up are you happy for me to watch my next segment i am very happy to finish it off my care day one you go good choice so you don't well with that one i'm going to check that one so um just going to move on to this one because pretty much it you mentioned it uh bobs burgers oh my god did i sorry it's not so this is to me i know there's a lot of cartons out there this is probably the most relatable carton i think i've seen in a long time because that family is amazing like every single one of the characters like there's not an annoying thing about them like even though the probably is doing it with each other but each one of them has personality traits that you can see you know the people as well i can say i love bob even though mixtape um because it was very close between this and archer out of archer but i think archers went downhill i love leaving watch that one but bobs burgers is just getting better and better and like say linda or i have to be a little hilarious like you see i see many people that you say i hang out with like linda when she gets excited and just gets sidetracked by shiny objects and like the kids the kids are absolutely the way the way is my favorite because she's just the do not give a shit attitude like i love a patina just on that a weirdness level like i get it what un-gene jean is just i was it ball of fun a ball of energy and when you watch them like i dare anyone not to find something that you laugh at or you find something that you do relate to as well i think jean works because louise is there yeah like him and louise just completely bounce off each other and there's not a lot of scenes when them two are not in it together and then she works so well i love the dynamic between the two of them i love i love linda sister yes crazy crazy couple that is a complete life mess or anything i love that yes whatever makes it more than teddy who makes it bobs and a sauferly is a star for the attention and one and like to be bobs best friend or even sometimes more than best friend or times it's but i love that as well not many show our cartoons do this they're doing annual halloween episodes yes they do and it's brilliant i used to love cartoons i did that as a kid or when i say when you start to get home from halloween and all the networks is do halloween programs and halloween was not many pieces do what these is like i know rose on was a big one back in the field i was just about to say rose on all we did halloween at the sword and they were fantastic you could go into the rosans archives and just pick out the halloween ones and watch them because they're so good but the Simpsons are exactly the same i don't know if i'm gonna ruin that one but you're in all but the Simpsons do a really good halloween episode bob burgers do yeah Simpsons not on my list just something like that no not on my neither of how far it's got now i think that's sure that should have ended ten years ago but again yeah i'm just i'm not i'm not i'm not i'm not it's like i actually went around Disney plus i sat in Washington from the beginning and i did feel like in the style japeel because i remember when it first came out which i remember i remember it was huge at the time and the promotional work around it was massive especially over here because it was the first big u.s cartoon that was being imported over to us and it was i looked at the beginning part of it but bob's burgers i what we're on season 10 now i think i'm watching it now on a tauchy stream because it's out in a mirror at the moment i believe so yes i'm near the end of season 11 now and for again it's just hilarious like some of the things that they'll get into it but it's not too the extreme but the again with those being filmed at the take film episodes and stuff and do it very very well like slightly like all that sort out of one of my favorites is when the kids decided you're going to win the the gold cart at the arcade and they need to rig this machines and it's almost like a oceans 11th esc episode where they all got their own rules clear but then it's placed at the end where they don't win the gold cart they win the world of power which is just hilariously well done and episode of the bob gets obsessed with a computer game because the arse or jibby pester on this arkwick gavian i can't get all messed up don't they i think i take a cloned i guess i'll hike up on his pain meds and stuff which is just hilarious and bob is just such a nice guy who is trying his best but doesn't get the bricks where what he probably deserves and everything in it's just i don't know it's got a whole new figure to it that i can't so really hold on so many levels i want i want to go to their burger place um even though i know if i'm only would not care for me because i know bob wouldn't bob wouldn't bob wouldn't do the vegan option that's just not in him but i do i want to go to the diner i want to meet linda like linda is just the noises that comes out of her is ridiculous and to know that they're all done by your man as well is crazy it's brought my mind that i have to do doing that boy he's so well done and it's a murder mystery oh thank you for it absolutely gets when she's literally making it for us i think she's a psychic and she just wants rah i think the overall thing i love about it just going to sound really cheesy and really girl here but there's so much love in that family yeah and it's ridiculous like it shouldn't work they shouldn't work well together they're all being like connivingly trying to get one over on each other but it's to a point where the noise not really that harmful they can pull back from it yeah oh i can again there's a few shorters like i can watch just pick up an episode there's nothing in being in order i can just pick it up and i do it every so often i'm just with the vegan on Disney course now and i just actually have put on and so i have to put bobs of their burgers on um but i actually even just think of random episodes now which is next to that like a bit where you go to tell his Halloween party and bobs is and he kills the answer i love that episode yeah so it's just a particular so one um well yeah bobs burgers always will be a bit different even if i get tv show um when i was picking through like a few of the tv shows it was close to being picked watch i think it's still ongoing so that's why i didn't pick up on tv shows about the end but um even when the one most ridiculous episode when he finds the top and toilet and he has this relationship with his toilet which is heartbreak and booby-o-tavada same time i love that episode that was like closer to the end wasn't it because i i work from home and i have my Kindle on in the background because literally i am in this room on my own so i put it on in the background like a way from your computer so i can hear it and i've gone through bobs burgers and leaves a couple of times i just even i don't even have to watch it just to hear their voices it's a comfort enough just hearing their voices it is absolutely fantastic i am devastated i did not put it on the list and now i wish i swapped it out for me last one i'm going to talk about um because it is like i remember i remember saying an image of tina online and it was it was a it was a gift of the you know she loves books yeah and i was like i didn't even know where this comes from so i literally went on found our image found the series watch the best series and i was hooked from then on like absolutely that's how i found it was a picture of tina with what's on it i think i got came to bobs burgers when it was late in the series i think i was about season five when it was out before i start watching it just because when you initially look at the artwork it's not the greatest type of uh it's so basic isn't it? and you think that's going to be one of those because there's a lot of carteons that's around now that you try and watch and you think it's style over substance and i was there i was going to be that but there's so much substance in this um you can watch an episode and take a different way like the salaries is this happy episodes of side episodes but each i think what i love about is about each carrada gets the moments to shine no one of all shadows each other like even more like i said tina's quite shy and not put it put it in like well it's definitely an introvert but um like same bit by skype comes at which sometimes i give a little bit of confidence and i see a lot of that in the comments there's a couple of episodes from tina's that they're absolutely brilliant at boog um on where she had a story star come in the life yeah because she's in one of them as a zombie yes one and and also going back to our conversations on brawnys they did a brawnys episode with tina's fascination with horses and they have and oh it's so and that just shows the seriousness the seriousness of brawnys and it was just really good i tell you what got me though i when american hot red hot american summer came out the tv series i mrs sis says watch the film first then watch the tv series watching the film i really wasn't paying that much attention to it i'm a very much a person who can sit on me for one and watch a film at the same time and all of a sudden i just heard this familiar voice looked up couldn't recognize the person at all and then they started speaking again and it was both it was the voice actor of boog being boog oh oh oh oh my gosh it was so good i got a pay attention then going back to as well what i said about archery and course because it's same voice actor who does boog who does archery right because it's basically like a piss thing james brawny because they're all different type of aspects but um they actually take the piss stuff about boobsburgers and the voices because it's a bit more goes undercover and he dresses up like boog and does as like say the whole and as a booger chef it kind of breaks the fourth ball in itself as well but um yeah going back to what you said as well about your favorite character which is the ways who is the standout star this show she is i absolutely but like say that's just a heartbeat of the show like there's an event where the way she's just been a bratikid or what she's got such a heart to her because like i think there's an episode where again i might be wrong like the exact premise where her and her dad bob fall out and she kind of like causes all the trouble and tries to meet over the end she was like uh i just this minion age and she was yeah and the time like that's the one because she never likes to show a weakness if the episode if the episode where because her and her dad have a very special bond and on a night time they'll sit and watch television the television show together and then it was just them too and then jean got involved and then jean got involved and then she just loses her temper with the whole thing because she's she's a creature of comfort and she likes her routines she doesn't mind spend time with her and sister she's not one of these who doesn't want to spend time with them but was a certain part of it that still wants to be a daddy's little girl yeah and she doesn't like that element she doesn't like her mid-touch but yeah she doesn't oh when she gets a teeth the whole and her teeth episode is brilliant she doesn't want to she's terrified of the dentist she ends up running away to us and sounds did you ever want to play a few of those wins yes yes what a way to get out of it it wasn't a disrupter yeah it was supposed to be a good board and that hit at the time that she'll get one of these so yeah yeah and then i have to do the whole operation at the end where it's like operation that we've got a teeth taken out and maybe like a military thing it's just so good and the voice actors is cursed and sure that is her voice she's not putting it on that is exactly how Kirsten shaw sounds i absolutely love i think she's a fantastic actress and i'm trying to think of what she's been in recently visually a calm thing at the top of my head with pobsburgers good choice man jealous gosh it can't believe it in fingers but yes so like i say with these choices i could have went back to like all the cartons but again i don't think i would have talked about them with as much love because it would have been like i well we're like maybe i wouldn't be in a starge but i wouldn't be able to go this happened here and this is why i love it yeah like i said pobsburgers is something that is quite near in data as yeah i think i've been so torn on this list of what to do for the best because i said to ant i've got to be honest like i've got i've got family who listen and i have to be honest with what i'm saying and if that's a care bit my sister's gonna go of course care but it's like yes i was obsessed with it cool so i wish i wish i wish i wish i wish i'd really wish i'd have been a little bit more seriously like probably i can't do that otherwise because we've got jobs and stuff like that and all it's fun but if we take a seriously might just take a little bit of it so that's exactly that's very true that is true right we've got my next one it is from 1983 and it's still on one today it's still an ongoing thing and but it only had two series right okay but it's very ongoing today actually as of the next few months something new is coming out with it um if i say film nation would that mean anything to you no not yet okay well he is he is the master of the universe he is he man he is and was probably the greatest thing that ever happened to his is the case like i got into he man probably off the back of my older cousin who legacy hi jackie's childhood he had um castle grayskull he had all the figures like battle captain and then it was and then a cartoon came out of that of what i was playing with a cartoon then came out of that and it was it just blew us away and then it introduced us to she run now she was gonna be on the list i i i i we waited out because she was huge and i did build a massive collect toy collection of the back of our foot he man came first and when i said i can picture my old living room in my house that i grew up in we used to have the television in the corner and then we had we didn't have shelving we just had vhs is lined up on the side of wall where the television was and the last two vhs not the last four was now tv now now something communesic one probably 1981 or something which was just a load of music videos on a tier um live full effc because my dad's a live full support i wasn't full support i um and it was a live full effc video tape he man in care of his they were everything else was just a recorded vhs but they were the four men like probably bought video and he man was one of them i was absolutely obsessed it's crazy well there's only two of the original general things other seasons of as well but it's like a sense as well because when we're making the show um as you go back to what watching the show that was talking about toys that made us we made the cardroom the seller figures yeah this is what we talked about last night when you if you go on youtube and put in top it is tv series introers and watch them you will realize all you're doing is watching a program by toys it was literally advertisement for toys because we were everyone we went through we were like oh yeah we had a bigger for that you know what i mean they were literally selling you toys because they were cartoon no let's like say i thought about he man because there was three cartoons that i was obsessed with when i was a kid it was he man thundercats and turtles but tells was the one the man wanted to be that i got blow away with he man i loved but i never revisited it after i said yeah as doesn't like him at all doesn't doesn't get it just doesn't get it at all and i said to him it's so hard to describe but it was what he calls battle cast battle cast cringey cringey was such a weaky little thing and all of a sudden he gets like he gets a new identity and just becomes this like powerhouse and oh i just and then skele tall like yes the best and funniest bad guy like i didn't get it then but watch him back now some of the stuff he used to say is absolutely poverty gold see what was a prince adam when he so you bought the sorceress and got the magic sword and say i have the power by the power of grace oh my god then he said i have the power if you look at the artwork and stuff i was very homo ironic as well oh my god with muscles on muscles i thought top gun was bad but jesus he went there is a video a 10 hour youtube video of um uh phone on blondes with the he man background and it is it's just sore sexualizes unreal like it's 10 hours as well by the way on loop just keep on around around but it was um again it's the same as the turtles like this just blew right the way up to where this had its own staid shore yeah where adam and erora were husband and wife and it was it was like a rock shore right honestly i'll send you that i will send you the link for laura's video she did a whole one of these like cartoon slash bigger things that like went into staid shores and the amount of money that was getting made of it but he man it's still a franchise that is yeah because kevin smith's uh kevin smith is literally just about to bring out his version of mass of the universe for animation yeah if you look at the voice cast that he's got involved with that wow that's that would make any tv show be that was as well in fact i don't know what he meant as well anyone who doesn't know what he meant as well anyone who doesn't know what he does not actually have a look at some of the people that's involved in that shore it does make it interested again but i know what they call the more to the more to the universe um it is a huge like say going back from and the very protective of of the source material as well but what i liked about he-man which i can remember to this day that started after an episode the history i was like a two minute clip whether he was taking a little warning or a little life yes it was like a safety tip it was like health and safety for a he-man yes because he would come he would be coming out there i would remember his walk he would just like walk up to the was i a he-man or prince adam not your forgiveness like the little thing but talk about i know i'm talking about like the look of he-man but some of the i'm really creating a way there some of the female uh drones in the he-man were very sexy like see i've never met some life i was putting questions like able in and even gosswers were very- she was the evolutionist and they always they even their figures like when you won't have one yet i mean i had all of their figures and they're very much they had a bit of curve to them but they were very much like just tiny little curve and then they moved yeah like if i never had if i didn't have boob envy in my in my late 20s and i would certainly have had one of the kids because bloody hell my she-rails had something packed and filled with that it's amazing stuff they used to get away with that what's the thing done on purpose to try and sell things or sell-sellers? oh my gosh yes because i remember when the figures came out as well he used that little mini comic that's how it- i think it started and brought out the cartoon afterwards to try and then it was like a 20-minute advert for the figures i think that means to bring out really weird ones like basement, spin top or something where the blue guy would be used to spin used to- and i'm having him yeah i think yeah but i remember like that and thundercats had the same type of vibe and failed through it this is why i didn't this is why i didn't pick them because for all i like them the cats i can't sit and hold the conversation with them the cats i can't i can't i- i remember- i remember the- what was the blue one called?

see i can't remember the names so there's like no cheater um- line on the blue one pan throw pan throw pan throw was the blue one? yes he was like a yes i had him as a action figure quite big one can remember how he moved because he had a little lever on his back and he'd always go like that and that's yep come down and- it's not spotify we are moving our arms up and down and i- but i can't hold the conversation when it comes to thundercats even though we won them i have them on dvd i have the- but i will not sit and watch them now i- and i see it's- that's nice how comes everything's been turned into a film even he-man was turned into a live-action film why have they never tried it with undercuts? i think there's- there's- there's rumors that we're going to start again with- because i know that it was fine about seeing jesim and maw has been trying to clear line or- made- i can see because i think it's a- who don't- god's- god's-elevverse is calm he said his next project wants to be having a live-action thundercat film but- do you want to- i don't think it could have done it's- that is exactly the answer that i'm couldn't have done it yeah because even with the he-man movie the elements of the actual he-man- carne and- and it really knew it loved was completely gone it was completely different here on he-man and it didn't work at all even though- god-lund and look the part of the he-man- not the part, maybe look at- i- maybe look at- skeleton it was a good thing but they didn't do the whole transform uh from he-man to prince-adim that took that aspect of- no- no- no- no- no- no- he didn't- he- he- well who was the two-played skeleton? it was um- oh- it was- oh- it wasn't- i thought it was- i thought it was- i thought it was- i thought it was some call frank hang on- he-man movie it was set in not 2021 it was- um- it was- oh that was it frank-lund-jell- and that's one- i knew it was first-name-us-frank but he- the point-in- since 1983 he would think there's a reason that why it's gone so long is because it is well loved it is the most perfect franchise out there if you watch- um- toys that made us- it's had some pro catastrophe downfalls- like the movie aside- the line of figures that it's brought out is just being very hit and miss- i think what it had like- not a huge fanfare- small passionate one- and that's not- i- i- it's- i don't need- a- to keep these- i've been going looking for a 45- week romanticizing record of- like- people who haven't- to keep things alive, if that makes sense.

That's not what I've known you right, it has to have been doing something. I really do recommend watching Toys I Met, Us 4, not just the He-Man and the Turtle episode, I mean they are fantastic, but they also have the history of Star Wars on there, and Barbie, the Barbie one is, I'm not a Barbie person, I don't, they haven't owned a Barbie, if Barbie's around our house though, because Michaela, I never had Barbies. Interesting. The other shit that goes on about Toys R, the backstaring and stuff.

Oh, the Barbie episode as well, like my God, there is some very selfish and greedy people, and when money gets involved, you see true colors. True, true that. And it's such a good series, it's three seasons out, and it's just, it's really interesting, like not even if you're not even a toy fan, it's still like really interesting. Also again, they've done another spin off series, like the films I made as well, that was well done as well.

Yeah, that was good. Again, that was fun. It was, I think the films was done one last year, came out with the Christmas movies. I did the Christmas films, I think I watched, I watched them all, I watched the ghostbusters, what obviously, and the nightmarapop Christmas ones, the nightmarapop Christmas ones is such an eye owner.

Anyone who likes Tim Burton, watch that film, watch that show, might change, I don't know how you feel about Tim Burton, that's all I'm saying. I have such a mix of pinion on Tim Burton, like, did anyone, did anyone, did anyone, I'm asking you. Hi guys! Hi guys, it's a good one.

I'm actually interested if anyone has watched, and the Devastook Man List, it was a documentary brought out by John Schnepp, Rest in case you know, who I've, of such a loss, he lost him a couple of years ago, so sad, but he brought this amazing documentary I called, The Devastook Man List, and that's where my opinion changed on Tim Burton, right there in that documentary. And the fact that Kevin Smith was just royally, like he was heavily involved in that, and then royally pushed out, which is the right-hand side of it, not direction or anything, but the right side. If you watch this show as well, it was an even more Kevin Smith, where he tells, well, sit on the live story, by an ointelle's again, in that documentary, but it's hilarious, and all for years he has assigned that script, he wrote, Fock Tim Burton. So, and then, and then, for somewhat age, because he was right in high off the back of his Batman, that was the main thing.

And then all of a sudden, he's just not interested, he's very hit and miss with me. I love Nightmare Before Christmas. I have a lot of fun memories of it. It is, it's been huge within my family, like I was dogs when named after Jack and Sally.

I think we'll leave that one there, because I think that one's going to come up in a lot of conversations when we do it in the future. We're not going to that one, because again, I've got so much love for that film, and I'll put an obsession with, well, I'll try to say that. Oh, look at that. Yeah, so.

Oh, we're very full stop. We'll stop talking. Okay, where are we? Hey, man.

Hey, man. So, yes. So, any more time? Sorry.

Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. No, not really.

It's not something I just went thinking of, see, I rather this list of more cartoons have grown up, as opposed to right now. And when I think of cartoons have grown up, he man's huge. Like it was massive for us. It brought us into not just he man, but she raw the film.

If anyone loved the film, it's actually available on YouTube if you want to watch it. Yeah. It's very much out of date. That's not me, maybe.

No, but it's just special. And I thought it was worth a mention. So, there we go. Well, it's a good point you've made there.

Like, so you've went from different aspects to what I've done, which is a quite thing. Because as we've done with certain things, I've picked will be quite specific, but this one was quite a bit broader. So, I think we've got that in a bit of it. And we went on.

I'm good. I was going with myself though. Yeah. We probably would have had similar picks if we did narrow it down a little bit.

Yeah. If it was childhood cartoons, there'd have been a lot of, probably a lot in there. But, and that's why, and I think it was my suggestion last week, where I said, can we make it a bit more broader? And I've been noticed all the minute from 1985.

Like, I haven't even, because I wanted to use the likes of Bob's Burgers and potentially family guy, because I love family guy, but then I was like, I've got to really like, I think I really need to go back to childhood to make it more interesting and get a thinking of it. So, I'm trying to do more quality, or the quality, because I know a family guy, you can just all think that did go down in quality for years. But again, that's probably down to my opinion and anything else, but rather than dwelling, you'll need to go to my next pick. You can go to your next one.

So again, so this cartoon, when I watched it the first time as a kid, changed the way I viewed cartoons, which probably changed, we have viewed cartoons for the rest of me like, I've been on this video. And I wanted a superhero cartoon because I see what I was talking about. There was a few I could have picked from. I could have picked the end, I could have picked the end, but I didn't, which I did love.

I could have picked the X-Men cartoon, which again, I loved, but I didn't. Yep, yep. Because I had to run the best sanctions and see if the first two seeds were the first seeds and that was absolutely important to me. And where you going?

This one is special. And it is not the cartoons I get in that adult way as well, which I never thought I would do. It was a experience of... You've got to see it.

I thought you were gonna say, I am vengeance, I am the knight. It's not like a cartoon. Like you would have seen. It was very dark, so moody and so...

I can't even explain how it is real back then because it was like I was watching something that... I shouldn't be watching it that way. Because I thought this is a bit adult. This is a scene.

And it was the first cartoon I saw that. There was a swear word in. Because I'm showing one of the efforts when the criminals tell us about that piss off. And I was like, this is a cartoon I'm watching.

It was on, makes me walk around the night, I believe. Used to wait all the time for this one to come on every week. It was the first to introduce a certain Harley Quinn to the Batman universe as well. Because she didn't actually do it in the comics.

She was actually the anime series as well. And had a brilliant voice cast, which to me, that's the best. Any TV show going. Like Kevin Conroy as Batman, you could close your eyes and he could talk.

Or take a Batman. He deserves to be in the list of, who was your favourite Batman? Because he is the epitome of just amazing. Absolutely amazing.

Sorry, people can't... I'm not an analyser, Jorga. Now, I know, I look like Mark, I don't like seeing Mark Hamble can do anything wrong. But he could punch me in the face when I was here.

Thank you, can I have another? As that Jorga, he was a me as an... And when the applause, the Rawls, the Ronics, the TV movies, that the day that the anime films, and even the Batman, the Arkham Knight games, it brought that level of nostalgia that he needed. And again, except to me, like Batman always has a clear some heart.

Like, say, that is my favourite piece of show here. I always go to Batman. Or even though I hear Tim Burns, Batman, which again, I wrote about and had discussions about. But going back to the Adam West, Batman, that's me sitting with my grandfather and my dad, watching that on a Sunday.

But that one, when I watched it for the first time, I still remember the credits and things. What's this? Can you see the two? The Swat Lights?

You see, like the brothers breaking in the explosions. You see the blue? The blue. And then introduced to such a backlog of Batman characters, it didn't just sit on the big ones as well.

Like, of course, you had the Applemen's, you had the Poison Ivy's, you had the Jorga, two-fierce, but you also had Killer Croc, Mad Hatter, the Ben Chwittl, and everything was brought in and done so well. It didn't piss out the sub-weach, which a lot of things do. It was done so serious. And all going back, which is crazy, there's only four seasons of this with me.

And if you watch, like, say, the daisy movies that were brought out recently, they've went back to that premise of Anime and Saves, the look, the fail, even the voice actors the years and back, and all the way to the issue with Hush, which was absolutely terrible. On the majority of me, the Hush TV show was terrible. I was going to say, I didn't watch it. I was literally not long.

Like, I think at some point you see, I read Hush for the first time. It was completely done with... If you hadn't read Hush the comic, you might have, or the change it, so I dressed it really in the Stevie Philip. It spoils it.

The only other one I didn't like was your favorite comic, the Killen Jop. The Killen Jop, yes, because they made Bruce and Barbara have a good relationship that felt really awkward. That's same. Yeah.

That was... That... No, I did not agree with that. I'm going to admit, when I started writing this list up last night, like, ideas for this was number one for us, and I didn't pick it because I knew you were.

And this was number one, and like, even before I even wrote this down, this was... And you were fine, well, and I was like, you're losing the slot, but something you know you're going to be able to talk about. Yes. I don't particularly like to admit that I am...

Like, I like DC. I don't know what it is with this. I don't know if it's the Marvel fan girl in his old watch, but when it comes to any Marvel... Excuse me, any DC reading list, Batman is number one.

There has been so many amazing titles come out of that character. Arkham Asylum is amazing. Very trippy. It's very trippy, but well worth your patience, because you have to have it in order to read it.

And this animated series, when I was doing some research last night, the first thing it said was, it was the first adult themed cartoon. They knew who they were. They were kiddering for you now. Not you then, you now.

I'm watching now. Again, it holds up. The graphics, it's so film-new-all. It's very...

Since it's very like, dictracing and... Not all the others? And even Blade Run, I would say, there's not like the futuristic aspects, but the look, the film, the buildings, I would always go back to this. If I was going to go back and watch a cartoon, I'd have many times just watched it.

And it's got very 40s or 50s, so it as well. It does, I totally get what you mean, but that isn't... Is that not how you see Batman a lot? Apart from, I love the video games.

I love the fact that I knew one's coming out soon. Yay. I don't know how many times I bought them video games as well, because I keep buying them, selling them and getting them, because I kind of not have them in me like, they are so good. And I will always remember the spoilers, the one where Joker dies.

At the end credits, it's Mark Hamill singing. Me and I swear to God, I'm kind of loving these throughout. And I'm sitting there, and crying me out, over the fact that Joker's dead. One thing I do adore about Batman, and again, I will fight anyone who tries to argue with us.

He has the greatest rogue gallery in villains. In any kind of... Full of... Don't care what you see, you can go away anyone.

And all, I say, it's fine when I spend some good villains, I would say he's... It's nothing in comparison to interest on Batman's rogue gallery. They are more interesting than Spider-Man's. Yeah, the more...

Look at the scarecrow. It kicks into his reins, like I said, a joke. No rhyme or reason, just once it goes, chaos and destruction. Even the penguin who's at the mob boss is weird, but again, can't be quite scary.

I lost love in Dr. Fries. Dr. Victor Fries is basically shut him off from himself from the world.

The Riddler, who's two clever frees, who are on good ones to meet the world, who can feel stupid. I could just go on... I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I never really looked at it that way before. That's so good.

I can say, I've always had a lot of time for that one. That was one of my favorite comics. And again, for me, name and comics, I would always recommend people to read. There's always a two, push, which again, I know you're already trying to get it right now, because I'm sure I've got it wrong before.

It's either the shirts along Halloween, but I'm trying to remember off the top of my head, I don't want to see it, I belong Halloween. It's not Halloween, I mean... I know the use elements of the long Halloween in Batman Begins, but I know heavily in a new band with the proper person, it's using a heavily based on that apparently, because it is a detective story, which are not a lot of bands are showing these years, not just the gadgets and Batman getting the fights, but the main thing about Batman, which again, it sounds a bit, because he is the greatest detective. And that's what makes it his comic was, except before he came back, I was like, what was it that I'm both somewhere?

I'm sure it was like, I don't want to get the wrong name, because it was some detective, you know, he brands none. But yes, I would always recommend the long Halloween, just because it's interesting. It shows you a different side, and it's quite slow, and unwinding, and it takes you down to a trip, which... Oh, that's good.

Because I felt push was very heart-reising, like, the publication needed to get the next page kind of. And Court Owls thoroughly enjoyed, like, I was invested. Modern Batman, that's brilliant. Like, so I was doing the new 52, at least.

I know we're talking about the Batman series, but I know. But yeah, I would like to see a film based in the Court of Owls. I think that would be a very interesting film. I think the TV series covered the Court of Owls, and never watched it, no, I didn't know either.

No, but going back to Kill and Joke, not great, given is, take out the Barbara Gordon bit of her and Batman, take that out, and that is, it was pretty good. And none of the back of it, Mark Hamill was in it. It was all right. If you want to understand Barbara's mindset and how the events of the Kill and Joke actually affected her, reading the 52 back girl, it goes into it.

Her PDSD threw that, is explained better than what that can do. I recommend that. And also, if I'm going to recommend things, I also want to recommend the documentary, is phenomenal. The dedication, this guy put into what he thought was an injustice.

It's called Batman and Bill. And it's about the recognition that Bill Fingar didn't get because of Bob Kean. And because of this documentary is the reason you will see now, Bill Fingar's name on a Batman project. Because it never used to, but it always created by Bob Kean.

And now it doesn't, it's created by, and I hope that God, that he's spinning in hell. Because that's where he'll be. Because again, greed, money, it changes a person. And, or it heightens what's already there.

And Bob Kean is a very, very person. This documentary is phenomenal. On the actual work that Bill Fingar did in comparison to what Bob Kean did. Because if we went off what Bob Kean did, you wouldn't be looking at the Batman you're looking at right now.

It looked ridiculous. Look at the drawings, it's horrendous. And he would have went with that. And he came in, Bill Fingar, your picture of the jorga, the white face, the makeup, all comes from Bill Fingar.

It's a very good documentary. It's called Batman and Bill. I can't recommend it enough. It has Bill Fingar's family in there who, you know, are very bitter.

Yeah. Very, and it's understandable, very bitter about the fact that they're, you know, their father and grandfather would live on nothing. It's very much similar to a Jack Kirby situation. Like Jack Kirby and Stanley is very similar in respect to that.

But the only difference is, for all Stan got quite a lot of recognition. It was always there on paper that that's actually Jack Kirby's work. They didn't have that, Bill. Really good.

I'll look at it. I'll look at it. I did not know about that. I can say that aspect.

Yes. Can whatever integration or version of Batman there is out there, I'll always have to be. Because that is my obsession. Batman is always going to be my number one.

Occasionally, one, two nights, two, one, Mr. Blue Eyes can't do no wrong, which Batman has always been relevant to where the human side of him is really annoying, he's a billionaire. And that's why he's, how is he? He's a billionaire and he is fueled by vengeance and he is and he is and peon, which I think is so much more interesting than a lot of the superheroes out there.

And I think, as a showcase, that sure, sure is off Batman better than other than, I would say, the Chris Nolan trilogy has been done in a long time. I don't think any integrations of Batman would be done better. So I would always suggest if they were going to make more Batman or another Batman cartoon based on that, use that as the basis build from it. Because that's it.

Learn from it. They didn't do much wrong from that. No, totally agree that you learn so much just from them four series. And they did because they took the aspect of the video game, the video game works so well because it came off the back of the animated series that you use in the same voice as I'm sure an armpominate.

Have we not got to come on with on that one as well? Hang on more than the work. I think it's when I spoiler for the last one, my Batman dies. I think that was his last performance.

He said it was going to be voice in Batman, but I don't know what he's done. I think it was it was all three of them. It was Mark Hamill and Kevin Conway and the second version of Harley Quinn, who is oh my god, absolutely love this woman. What is her name?

Oh, what is her name? It's not the original voice of Harley is Arlene Sorkin. Really Kevin Smith did a really good version of a really good version, a really good interview with her and her involvement in it. Oh my god, who who is the most famous person to do in a voice?

What is her name? Said another most recent one's a cartoon from Caltech. Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly. Tara Strong, Paul, I would have done my head in.

Tara Strong, she if you if you hear Harley in your ear, you're here in Tara Strong. She is the epitome and I think it was them three working together for the last time because they've done because after Harley got popular at Tara tip over. Yeah, and they worked together the three of them for a very long time. I remember the last game was their last her eye together.
