Hey everyone and welcome to the Nerdy of North Park, the Nerdy Park, hosted by two Northern Nerds. I'm one of your hosts Sam. And I'm Bill Osthor. And today we're joined by a very, very special guest, Kenny!
Hello! I'm Kenny. If you're a role of like, say, Ophius, who group, you'll probably know Ophius, as she put it quite in as the master of the means. The meaner than yes, that was it.
Next edition is one of our regular courses and she actually did was the winner of the Nerdy of North T-shirt, which she is showing up right now. Amazing. So if you want to tell us a little bit about yourself, what's the most brilliant about your Nerdy tendencies? Right.
Old-school sort of Nerdy in the way of that. I'm the sort of person who just wears whatever, whatever, whatever. I wear a lot of fannies. Not actual.
No, yes. But what I'm going to do, I'm going to celebrate and femininity and, boy, positively. So I'm always there wearing some sort of a, either vulva or phallic representation. Awesome.
Yes! I'm quite nerdy in regards to old-school games. I used to be a writer, police station, one nurse, and I was actually featured as a star letter. I think quite a bit.
Wow. You're doing well last week on the podcast. We have been here. We have been here.
Yes! Yeah. So we did the... In general, really.
Cool. We did reach out to the group and say which members wanted to be part of the podcast because I say we wanted to just talk to me and Sam, I get a little bit more and get a little bit more interest and get more people involved. And Kelly was one of the ones that we're getting in touch because she is quite the co-authoral character, as you can probably see. Or here, if you listen on Spotify or iTunes.
Bye! Get the plugs in as well. Again, this week we're doing the top fives again. So this top five is top five comedies, which we thought we quite fun and become a bit of in the arse, I'll be honest with you.
A bit difficult, more than I was expecting. I'm going to put it, mine's just a themed. And you'll get the theme when you get the first one. And I could have gone with thousands of beyonds.
This could have gone on forever, but I had to narrow it down and think of what I actually watch. And you'll get... You'll understand it when I start seeing it. I'm ready to dive straight into the top fives.
Yes, well I was getting a bit nervous as well because Kenny was messengers while this. The preparation she was doing. I don't think I'm a sound professional at all. That's one of my favorite.
Oh my god, that's fine. I've got mine too. So yes, we'll go to the studio here. And just before we start, I want to shout out as well because we'll have two milestones.
This week, two quite big ones. We'll have 2,000 members joined the B.S.O. group this week, which told you fucking blew the air. Most of the Americans are fucking gone from.
But hey, I'll know American friends. I hope you can understand us if you listen in. And just before that as well, we hit 2,000 followers on Instagram as well. So it's been a bit of a win, shall we?
Round of applause. No, even six months old. Next month, so six months since we start. Wow, that's crazy.
So whatever sort of year. We're on episode 11. 11 now, yeah. Oh my god, episode 11.
Right, so every week we do top five and I've always had top five comedies this week. And I think our guests should kick it off. Oh! Precious on now.
You'll lose your podcast cherry here. I'll start off by saying this has really made me realise that I'm really happy. I really don't like comedy films. I think it's my tendency if I'm comedy, I want to think bite-size and episode.
But I could like wax limical on comedy shows. I was going home. But when I came to films and I was just like, oh, oh, oh, oh. And I think the latest comedy I actually chose was like 2004.
I was like, Jesus, yeah. I think it was fine too. But they porned me. I think I'm going to start with that one, to be honest.
Just to ease in. It was made in 2004. It was directed by Jared Hess. And it's pretty much a comedy where no happens.
It's okay. And it's Napoleon Dynamite. Oh my god. The most awkward, geeky, is the nerdiest thing.
Oh, yes. You know what? Never even coming in my mind. But it's an awesome show.
I love that film as well. Can I break this right now? Never seen it. I've never seen it.
I've never seen it. That's the running thing with some. That's the running thing. I'm terrible.
But yeah, I've never seen it. You know what? The thing is, it's one of these films where I know it's like, mom, I either love it. Yeah, because it's just like, what the hell is this?
Because it's a comedy where I don't think it's actually funny. But it's just interpret the awkwardness and it's just, it brings me back memories of being at college. It's something that's incredible. And buying a vote for Pedro, like Tisha, I'd be like, ah, I'm cool.
And no one, no, didn't one ask you what's the Tisha? Who's Pedro? Why are you voting for him? I was like, hey, before you died about it.
It reminds us of being in Pizzazz, because there was a lot of people in Pizzazz when wrote for Pedro or Tisha. So it's, I think it was at the same time as the office, because it's the same type of comedy as the office quite cool. Oh, I like it then. Yeah.
Well, you'll probably be honest. I love cringy. I love cringy comedy. And that probably, do you know what this, do you know what this, do you know what though?
I own it? It's not a movie, I've just never watched it. It's one of them. I think it would be like, ah, I'm quite fancy watching it, but if it's on, you'll stop watching.
You'll just not be able to hear it because the stuff that happens in the film. It's mesmerizing. And my favorite part of it, like, say spoilers, is when the point is discussing what a liger is. And to the girl, like, you don't know whether he's crushing on him or she's crushing on him.
And it's kind of like that's a liger. That's like it's really monitor and voice as well. I do, I do, like the African player, it's really funny. Yeah, John, he'd better, better.
header header header. So I pronounce the H is not from from here because I can't pronounce it actually. They're bladed glory and I really enjoyed them in that. I thought I really enjoyed them in that.
But what I think is quite funny about this film is it's set, you know, kind of in 2004, 2005 it's written on sort of like kind of student card sort of things like this 16 year old students but it's just the place where they live. It's like the 80s it is one taught by modern culture. Everyone's got the girls have side ponytails and the foyer and moon boots. Yeah, it's like the time that time stopped and never moved on type things.
Even his brothers were like the most weirdest things you'll ever. I think at some point he's made like these people recall because looking after them because the Nana brought a coccyx while going on like doing boogies and sand jacks and he has to look after like the two brothers, Kevin, Dan, Napoleon and he's selling Tupperware. And I'm like the people around Tupperware and it's just like... We said Tupperware, now I'm having an area in the end of my house.
Oh yes, Tupperware. What really sticks with this with Napoleon Dynamite is just the Auckland sequence which is absolutely lush, lush, shamed song. The bikes stripes have one of your friends and it's just gone on the elements of it. And it's just like what's a food with the names of like the characters and like ketchup or tinselm.
It's got the right there there and stuff. It's just lovely lovely builder but you've got Napoleon Dynamite. It's just the most socially awkward heavy breathing. It's absolutely great in regards to the one line is like do the chickens have large talents?
Yes, do they? Was it in his classroom you know like he's got tatatatatatat. And someone's like, get his taffy, no, can you untouch? So he punched him in the leg and squashed them.
Oh, I feel so left out. I need to watch this film now. Not as probable. The end bit is the best thing in it.
Again, it is a big thing, Oric, when you watch it. You either sit in there with your mouth on the floor and not watch it, or actually it's the media's crying. Yeah, the dance. The dance.
I've seen it a million times. Yeah, it all, anytime at least comes up and fall in dynamite, the dance is always showing that I have no references to where that dance has come from. Can't taste chibera clike. Amazing.
That's the thing. Again, another film that's got an amazing soundtrack. Oh, absolutely. Absolutely perfect.
I need to mention this before. I love these doodles. It draws light. Yes.
It draws this girl who wants to ask the dance. It's Tricia. And it does this absolutely horrific choreography event. And she's just got the she is.
And she looks like she's got this guitar. And she's like, yeah, it took me up so many hours to do the she in on your overlay. And she's like, I'm going to like, OK. That's a thing, because it's an awkward film.
But when you're talking about what laughing at that, that's what makes a good comedy. It's like the memories of that film. It kind of breaks you down. Like, I'm going to be chasing it.
Yeah, but it's in an element. And I'm going to go and watch it now. All I'm going to be thinking of is Kelly's facial expression. Like, I'm going to make this laugh.
That's the thing, so you know, you're like related to it. But it probably will mean more than a bit. Quite a bit. That's a good thing.
I really love Kitch's girlfriend, LaFonda. LaFonda. He's on like internet chat rooms. And I think that's the only thing that's modern about this 80s, 90s, like, town.
Like, he's like, oh, yeah, I'm only in there. And he makes this girl. And it comes to say, and she's just this absolutely like, gorgeous, get-all books in Blackjack, who's just, and he's this skinny, like, half-assed guy. And she gets them off and he's like, just, oh my God.
I'll be talking about Gangster and stuff afterwards as well. But she's the one who gives Napoleon the tape with Canton. And he learns how to dance to do this sketch so that Pedro can become president again, some a week, who's the, you know, the political force, is short. Don't have to be popular if you win a man.
I just have a point. It's had a meaner. I've never laughed so much at a film I've never seen. I hope it lives up to it.
I will talk about it when you do watch it. You've always watched it happen. I'm going to have the giggles all the way through and then we're really on one. I think we just won.
It's a comedy podcast. It's fine. We'll take a look at the noise now. It's fine.
Hey. Are we ready to move on? Paul, do you want to go next? I'm just excited.
I love this film. It was a bomb when it came out. It lost money, big style. It was only time before.
It only found a tour on DVD when it first came out after that. It was 1995. It was directed by the man that BSE inspired us to do these podcasts. Kevin Smith.
It was the most quote-unquote film I've ever seen from my teenagers. I quote is anything, anyone that used to give a shit, I used to say it just because a guy reads comics doesn't mean he can't fight back. It was more ruts. And this film, honestly, from start to finish, this with me being a comic book nerd, I will lead to this.
And again, when I bought DVD, I found out that there were actually two versions of the film. I have the version, the one with the British Serenice on Spare or something. Yeah, with the not so little wall reactant. Oh, that's it.
I actually mentioned someone in the kick-knick and jokes all through. But the left one bit in. And the cut part in backlands was with you, like I had a very tiny round of smacksome. But you never really found out.
But that's because he asked any shots. Someone was on the news because the whole start, it was in the go to the floor and that wasn't actually in the original film. No, I have that version. Honestly, this film has so many elements that just brings this joy in laughter.
From the guy coming from his name now, trying to say the sailboat with the magic guy. Oh, and Ethan's Bolly? Yes, I'm from his name in the film now. But when the kid says, hey, it's a scooter.
And he goes, hi, it's a sailboat. The scooter is a sailboat. But you know what? He's the bunnies of Rio.
Yeah, he's the bunnies of Rio. He's the bunnies of Rio. And Tungs, I haven't seen this. Oh, that's the treat.
Oh, my God. It is. When you watch it, you'll feel right at home. If you are like a comic book nerd, you will feel right at home because you are that person.
Like, I am Rody. I can, if you argue with it, it's going to be in comic book terms. It's going to be in nerdy terms. And that's how he, that's his defense.
He always uses the comic book terms to like argue back with people. It was obsessed with comic book. And I think it was obsessed with comic book. I think it was like, the things that God of Superman was shagging at the lowest.
What he bought. Yeah. What he bought. What he bought.
But like, say the cast was really, like I just said, Rody is Jess and me. Like say for my, I wanted to be Rody. Like say, the smart Alec. I had basically always had to be Rody.
I'm female and I wanted to be Rody. And also this is Ben Affleck's first feature film. I don't know if he was his first, because he was in Buffy the most. Yeah.
So I don't know if it was. I think this is his first feature film where he's credited because I don't think he's credited in Buffy. Right. Because he, Ben Affleck again, played a good part in this way.
He's a douchebag salesperson like Sean and Donaty from nine or two and charmed. She was in a, she was played with like, girl friend, ex girlfriend and like, say, good go on. But like, say the stars that you said were pretty much like anyone that you've seen in a TV show or a film in the 90s work pretty much in. And like, say Kevin Smith as Simon Bob and J.
And as J is just like, say, I found out about all the missions that take down the shore. And Michael Rock is in as well. And you want to try to pet? So it's all.
And we got one of, if you, if you listen to any of the smart cast podcasts, you get talent Steve Deve from Mora. Because it is bright and wild from talent Steve Deve. Just credit is found by the Kevin Smith's oldest friends and. Don't be as a contest in the blind.
And then he's called in this. If you haven't seen it, this is the premise. Like two people went for a break up and they go to the mall where they haven't what basically is like blind date with one of these ex girlfriends and a go from this mission to try and win back his girlfriend. And shit happens.
The whole adventure in the mall. And across all these different characters and makes it, you can't help but fall in love with each of them. It's got such a personality. Yeah.
And any single one of them you can see yourself in or see one of your friends in as well. That's what I love about it because it's got so relatable and it's got the best cameo in as well. I'm Stanley. Yeah, the man the man is in it.
The man is in it. And if you ever listen to Kevin talk about this and he can spin you on on the kevin Stanley for a decade. He will always say that Stanley had to add the line in at the end where because he's brought his obsessed with sex basically. And he's absolutely obsessed with it.
But Stanley comes in and tries to like get into look at the romantic side of life. And because it's beautiful story about a girl they've got to wear and Stan couldn't do that because Stan's girls didn't get away. He met his wife and within 76 years they were married. And he hated the idea that that was his character.
So we added it at the end when Jeremy London's character comes up to him and says did he tell him the story? When he went no, it wasn't true. I got my girl. He had to put that in because he felt he was portraying his wife.
That's how sweet this man actually is. He hated the idea that his wife was going to see that and think oh my God. I was having met. What is this one else?
Kevin can talk about Stanley. It's even featured in that Marvel. He's reading the mole red script when he's on the bus. But yeah.
We all post described this. I know it sounds strange. It is a romantic comedy because it's for the stonative generation. It's for us.
At the time when we were at college we were looking for a place and saying the same thing was going on in America at that time. And we probably found out one thing is we went to the mall. We went to the blue. I was like, I'm not Mr.
Blue. I bought 36. I'm going back to film you and to the best. I bought 36.
We got Marlow's. We bought that. That's what they did. We hung about and talked about films and comics.
That's what these were doing. We did. We were having these conversations. We definitely did.
We went to college together. The whole thing when I broke me I was crying. I was crying. I laughed at the whole story on stage.
The plane going down and how everyone jumped. The hands up. All of that. And then it went out.
And then it went out. And then it came. It was like, it just comes out in nowhere. It's just the most random.
There's twice that happens. There's a hamster story. And then the plane one and the random story that come out in nowhere. And we went to college.
And on a Tuesday, if you remember this, we used to drop college. We used to get on the bus and we used to go to New Castle. And we did that. And then we would go down the town on a Tuesday night.
We had our little tight little group. And that was our little mall hangout. It was so cool being all getting on shit. I didn't hear the A more bass.
I didn't get the A more bass. I didn't hear more bass. I didn't hear the A more bass. I don't think.
We'll get some photos out in the theatre. There is some available online. Gel phase, I just walked back to declarate. I didn't even hear it.
She walked around. Yeah. It's young. I'm going to go to 35.
So a few years. I'm 39 this year. I went to college year. I did a year at six home and then totally failed.
And then I went to college. So I was basically the year behind as well. College was good time. City of St.
Lucolle College party. We used to go to Liberty's on Tuesday night. Liberty's on Tuesday night. You just got a telegram as well when no one used to be in New South Souths, they are all on years again now.
Yeah. Can you remember Liberty eyes though? How smoky it was in the video? You always used to get smoky in your eyes.
You would always be watering so we cast it in the BI. You get smokin' pubs, shall we say? Yeah. Oh, right, you move on?
That's my first pick, Mora. Right, so I said mine has a theme and I'm going to kick it off with the one that you're going to get an idea of what the theme is of my picks. It's from 2004. It's directed, if you could have to bear with us on this one.
It's directed by Jay. Sorry, Jay. Chandriskia. Yeah.
It's from the Comedy Truth, broken lizard. Right, yeah. It's not what you think it is. It's the other one.
It's the Comedy Slasher club dread. I watched the one that was awful. I love this film. It is outrageously terrible.
Yeah. It has every horror cliche gone, but it still holds up when it comes to the funnies because I find this truth hilarious. These guys are on my level. Oh my god.
I love it. I'm actually, what was it did as well? It's a bug with rundown. I was going to read on 99.
Oh, 799 and subscribers. Be a, be a, be a fester. Yes. That was like an October 1, but yeah, be a fester.
And the day was 2, club dread, and it has Bill Packston in it. It has Brittany, Daniel, Daniele Dennett from Sweetbelly. Hi. It's got the guys from broken lizard as well, and it's just, it's cliche.
It's tacky, but it's funny. Yeah. I don't see where I was at. I'll be surprised I got through with the film.
I'll be honest. I don't have any memories of it. I just remember going, what, on our watch? And, um, the comment after, the, the comment after the scary movie though, didn't it?
So, the comment after the, that type of film. So, it's, yeah, it's not a, um, it's, it's not a, it's not a homage to slashes. It's pure work. It's take of slashes.
Yeah. And, and possibly done not in the greatest tears either, but it's still, it's just something about it. I don't know if it's just them, because I really like them. Like, I like, like, I love super troopers, even though it's not gonna be nice.
Um, I do like it, but it's just, it's just my level of humor. That's like, that's why companies always go to bed, like say different people get different things out of it. And that's why I always, because to me, I might be wrong here, but I don't think it's been a good comedy film in the last, say, of 10 years, that's been brilliant. You are very much wrong.
And I haven't put it on me list. So I hope no one's put it on the list with spy is one of the greatest comedy films that have been released in the last 10 years. And you can fight, you can fight me on it, because Jason Statham, playing Jason Statham is just the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life. And it is Melissa McCartney at her very fucking best.
But it's not on the list. So I hope it's not on the other side. No, it's not on the other side. I don't think it's gonna be on.
We're not, we're not, we're thinking about, like, all the comedy films, like, Eddie's King here, um, all the films and big 80s films were comedies and makes in the 90s, it started to progress and it changed, but it kind of changed how comedies were. Now it's like all big budget boxes. I don't think many studios are prepared to do a risk on a comedy anymore, because it's not guaranteed money. I actually always write down me, write the rutant tomatoes scores.
Do you want to know what the rutant tomatoes scores are? Oh, and if this is other 30, I'll be surprised. 29, it's 29. It's 29 and it deserved every one of that 29.
Because for some people, I totally get it. It is really bad for them, but it's all, it's so borderline bad that it's good and it's funny and it's just clichey and the whole Bill Paxton is playing a Jimmy Buffet. I don't know what it'd be, but it kind of claims he's the first and the songs that are played throughout it are hilarious. You've got to really listen to them because they're like that Margarita Bill, kind of song, but the lyrics are just, it's so much crazy.
I just, I find it so funny. No, but I'm making like, I make a list. I'll say I make a list. I've got to be a picture of Spider-Man.
So this is why not many people got involved with that. So good. I was very upset about that because these are times three minutes. See how many?
And I was just, I took special care on the heads and then run out of arm space and time. Well, no, I make a list of other stuff that because I'm hoping it might actually be a good night. I love for comedy because as I say, my core to the films is existential stuff, like, you know, films where no happens. I can tell some shine of the spotter's mind and stuff like that.
That'll make some shine. I would watch that. A little bit of a little bit of a sunshine. I didn't, I didn't put it on my list.
A little bit of a sunshine is one of my core to sad films. I get on sad. I put a little bit of sunshine on and grown-ups don't judge me, but I do, like they're the two films I would put on and watch when I feel inside. I haven't put them on the list.
No. Yeah. It's still awful. I'm not going to talk about, but it's those are my sort of films.
So when I thought it's an I was just like, I'm like, when we may have some talk, but we thought we'll pick someone easy because we'll say we don't know, because we're the first time with it. Oh, comedy's. Anyone can talk about comedy's. But yeah, it is.
It is quite a lot. Yes, we'll try. That is, you want to be surprised with a few of your picks. So that one's probably caught as left field as well.
There you go. There's my number one pick. So, Kelly, we're back to you. Right.
I was discussing this with me further earlier on. So I was saying, like, about comedy's and he was like, Oh, comedy's really just lots of comedy films. And I mentioned this pick and he was just like, not funny. I remember watching it as a child.
I used to get babysapped by an ex-saunee event and she used to put this on for us. And if I wasn't paying attention to it, she'd threaten. I'll put back the future on. I used to think that was boring.
So I'd be like, Oh, leave this on. And 1988, as soon as the guessing company pops up, you know what it is. It's Betel juice. Oh my God.
It's absolutely, it has shaped my humour and from being. Paul, is it on your list? It was me next pick. No!
Just before we start talking, just before we start talking, I've got something I'm going to try and do. So I'll see if this one. That was going to do this way. So did I come through?
Yeah. I can hear it. I don't know if anyone else could hear it, but I can hear it. Oh, if not, if not, just watch just Danson for a few minutes to not think.
Oh, so I wasn't going to mention any of the film. I was just going to say, can you guess the film and clear the... Do the way you put your head down on your list? That was like, oh, I mentioned this to me further and I was just like, oh, anyone's going to put it?
I was just like, I'm not free. What? I remember watching this probably set far too young, then I shouldn't have watched it. And the only way you've got appreciation of it is when you actually understo the hue.
Definitely. You've got there, I've got a clueless newly-dead try to hold onto the far and wide socialites out of their home, put need an undead sex pest to help out. Ah! Ah, perfect.
Yep. What a description on dead sex pest, I love it. Yeah, undead sex pest. And it really, I remember, as a child, there's a picture of me at Christmas and I've got like any egg and bar because it obviously lose barf's cause.
And I had a fatal juice action figure where the head came off and he had a strong head and he was the same. Yeah, yeah. And I was like, they were my stable choice. You know what I'm saying?
I loved, loved, beatl juice. And this basically blossomed a timber noobsession from that. And I watched it before Night Man 4 Christmas came out. I remember getting night man before Christmas on VHS because I knew that was Tim Burton and I think that's about age seven or eight.
You know, I think it's either, I think when it comes to Tim Burton, you fall in love with Night Man 4 Christmas or it's beatl juice. It's like they've either one of them lead you to the first of the of the tim Burton obsession. Yeah, definitely. For a cast, the cast for this.
I brilliant, Michael Keaton, we're all around Argentina, David's Alec Baldwin, Catherine O'Hara. And again, it is after as well. Geoffrey Jones, who didn't do much work after the Eddies or two. Let's not talk about Geoffrey Jones, the better.
He's not a good person. Right, okay. I think I'm talking about the right person. He was the guy from See A Two and the Dad, isn't it?
He was the one in How With The Dog as well. He is not a good, I don't think he's a good person. I think if you Google him, he doesn't work for a reason. Right, okay.
Okay, we're not going to go to the Me Too moment for that one. That's fine. No. No.
I thought that, you know, I thought I was just saying, I was just saying, I was just saying, I was just calling the world. No. No. No.
There's so many, visually, visually this film is brilliant. I hadn't seen a film like this, like, that looks wise before in my life. Like the colors, and it was dark with all those things, like the pieces, everything was done. So like even like, I say, we're all a writer in the red wedding dress is still for striking.
Like James Unreal. But also a nightmare for you as well. Like the whole dinner scene by the Hans Coke or, I wish I could have gotten down to the wall. Down to the wall.
Down to the wall. Down to the wall. Well, can you believe so? After this, the stuff that brought out.
Like I said, I just said, the figurines, brought out of people just can't do them. That was a good solution. But yeah, I said, that's kind of like horror comedy, because that's what it was like, kind of like a horror-ly show, I was saying, but I'm a con artist. That's a good one.
But I think that started my obsession with Winona Reiner as well, because after I watched Beethoven, I kind of watched Heathers and stuff like that. But wow, actually, as I said, as a film, when I watched as a kid, I didn't quite get it, but I knew I liked it. It's not make sense. Yeah.
The musical numbers, because there's two musical numbers in that, like the end bit, like, say, Chase or owner doing your body nine. Because everyone wanted to do that. I bet everyone wanted to do that. Like everyone could think, I would do that if I'd go around the house.
And also, Hey, let's do it now. Here we go. Do you want to come and hang over? Wasn't that the closing song of Chambers?
Yes, I think so. That was the Go on Horn song. Yeah, that was the go on song of Chambers. He's a player that knew, like, right, it's time to go home.
What I like about the film, it's not a laugh out loud, no, come on, thing, right? But there were just certain things that are absolutely hilarious, like when, you know, the finder, and the hugger could be just, he's just to find that, you know, like, getting in touch with Beethoven do sort of thing. By way, it's to help you out. And it's just one of the funniest things, as well, it just cracks me up as Sam.
When he goes on that ranch and I go, was it? And I've seen the extra 100,000, like, some time. And I keep getting everything from the time of the day. I just get, it's the attention, it's the attention on the day deal that's so good as well.
Like, how did he distract? Er, we'll just get all the hooves. Girls, girls, girls. No, no, no, no.
He's coming in, he's coming like spikes. Yeah, but I'll read the evidence and stuff like that. But, I know it's downstream because it's such a weird film, but it's such a failed good film as well. Yeah, it is.
It's, it's weird. Because the whole morrow, it's, it's about family, and feeling that you belong to something. Yeah, I'm gonna feel that she's at the end is, but don't you feel at the end that she kind of like, let her family and gone to the ghost family. Like, she's more attracted to the ghost family than her own family.
And it's like, what's the best time? I feel like you're feeling more for the dead than the living, which is really like quite a deep sort of message. Because I mean, you absolutely come to here, the socialites and how they are used then, you know, the mains when they're like, kind of bringing them back to the dead, but they're rotten. Yeah.
Oh, but it's just like, just so they get like more money and like, you know, or less. I think. Yeah. But growing up, I saw one to be a Cap and a Heartless character more than anything in the world.
Probably still do right now. She was beautiful in that film. No, she was absolutely stunning. That woman is absolutely stunning.
I don't want to say even to dear, but like, she is just beautiful woman. And I love the fact that in she's creep, she uses, she is very timburdon inspired in her costumes. They still continue on in her career. And it has nothing to do with timburdon.
But Moira Roa's monochronic outfit she wears is just, she even has a timburdon style umbrella. She has the black and white umbrella. Yeah. It is.
She honestly, watching she's creep is just a joy just to watch, if nothing else but to watch Moira and her costumes, because they are exactly like they were when she was in Beelhoose. I love that woman. And I'll always say this as well with pictures. Because there's a lot of films that I always want more, one sequels and to, you know, I do not want a single that be able to just, I'm happy with what I got.
I think that's, or it was told. And don't, to the point where I don't need any more, I was not. I got happy closure with that film. Yeah.
Do not be naked. Do not do a single. Early. There was it the waiting room.
That's one of the humorous set plays that waiting room. I love the smoking man. Yeah. What do they got there?
Because you're going to be thrilled. I can't tell you. I can't tell you what they're doing. When we first left on a note, Halloween she dresses up, and like she plans it for like six months.
She went and was missing out in Tina Won. Yeah. It was wrapped in LED Independence. The tour painted together in the colors.
Yeah. First to put one of the photos, because she is amazing. Beth and Paul's wife Nick really go all out when it comes to Halloween costumes. Kelly knows Talley.
and I'm talking about the one before. I can't even put that as well. But I can still be a member because she told us that she was thinking that. And I know there's been two that's been amazing.
Like Miss Argentina and she don't know the woman from Mars Attack's one yet with a big beehive. She's always like she spends like, not quite a quid, she spends hundreds of pounds on her outfits as well. But I'll see if I can get a picture for that. I'll try and get it.
I'll see. Get it and put the book as best as it is. Whoever says, people just isn't a comedy. They're wrong.
Simple as. Yeah. I'm like, eh. So that was a point.
Take that Kelly. It's going to happen. I knew I didn't pick it because I knew you would pick it. This is how it's getting now.
We're like 11 episodes in. No. We're starting to figure it out. Like, I know I can't pick this because he'll pick it.
Yeah. That's like, I was talking to you. It was the only thing. It is one through us because that would have been in my choice in the eighties.
But I was expecting you to pick a new expect me to pick it. So that was on you. Yeah. Then we didn't pick it at all.
So we didn't pick it out. I was really annoyed by time. I was really annoyed by it. So you just had a giant second one.
So I'll do my second one. And I'm going to go with possibly one of my favorite, favorite films, even though I didn't even make a favorite list, because I knew I would use it again at some point. I would need to use it again at some point. This feels very fitting.
And it's from 1992. It's directed by Robert DeMekis. It stars the amazing Goldie Horn and Meryl Streep. It's definitely concerned.
It said it said in the title black comedy fantasy film. So we had comedy in there. It was getting on my list. I definitely as a comedy.
It's a very dark comedy. But there's definitely it's very femme fiddle and beautiful films. I actually have some facts. I have a fact if you want to know my fact.
So this film is often said by fans. It is an extended episode of Tales From the Crypt. And it's won an Oscar, but it won't ask the best visual effects. Robert DeMekis also won an Oscar for the same thing, same visual effects on who bring Roger Rapping for his film.
They got them off facts. They're my interest in facts. I remember saying this when I was younger. I don't think I got it originally.
So I kind of then didn't quite say it was I think when I was older and watched it again. I realized how brilliant it is in the performances of the other like Glenn Close and Goldie Horn. Glenn Close? Not Glenn Close, sorry.
Meryl Streep. Never say a matters. Very different. Very different.
This is one of my, I mean, it's me and me sister have like, if I had to do a list on mine that like, I pick up the subject for a list. Mine and me sister's favorite films. This would be one of them because we caught this all the time. And we always saw ourselves as Helen in a Madeline.
But now brought up with more. I said this to the other day. I was like, I always see you as Madeline. And she goes really because I know seeing these other slides of as what you call it is about the Rosalini.
Like that's why I want to be. I want to be is a fellow Rosalini. I don't want to be Madeline Ash to know Helen. I'm sure they didn't want to be the Madeline.
This is one of the it's heavily done with practical effects. However, it is one of the films that first use the VFX technology that you see a lot in cinema today. And it's also a lot of trigger over the eye as well, especially with the whole of the stomach and how she sat down with the VFX was never never been used before. And I read when I was doing some research that Merrell Street here just doing it because it never now it's it's normal.
Yeah, working with green screen and working like the way she's walking backwards. That's all done on green screen. And that way. Okay, that's all I'm just going to fail into me.
I can't wait to kill you. When she falls down the stairs and she goes. And you hear it's like, oh, it's a crumb. It was just so fascinating to read because you know me, I love practical effects.
So I needed to know what I was talking about and how much was done by practical effects. And it was a lot, a lot, especially the neck bit. I remember watching them here a few years ago, short, Merrell Street, like it was heavily prosthetics, like how they got it. So looking, it was amazing to do it.
But I still think as well, the stand when the stand-up performance is in that, it probably doesn't get the credits for us. Because we got a lot of people. 100% agree with you on that one. I'm going to be very bitterly angry with Hollywood if they redo this.
I can't. I can't. The can't redo it. The Lady Gaga is a fellow Rosalini part and Hathaway is one of the Helen on that.
