Hey everyone and welcome to another Neri Up North podcast, the Neri Park House hosted by Two Northern Nerds. I'm one of your hosts Sam. And I'm the other host Paul. And today is Dun dun dun dun dun dun dun.
It's not a podcast without one of us singing our apparently so yes. I had to do that. It's been a hit all day and I was like I'm gonna get it in. I'm gonna get it in there.
So yeah so we're gonna discuss MCU. We are gonna do our top vibes but it's more shall we say overlaxed talk rather than saying stick into the normal format. It'll be like say our opinions on MCU what we love what we like. Our favorite moments in the MCU as well will be discussed so a few interesting ones I say.
I know Sam's got a love for certain Marvel films. I think we will have share views quite often because I think like said you can't not love the MCU for what it's done and I don't think it'll ever be beaten or repeated which is hard for me to say with a big DC fan. But yes so we're talking about MCU. So what we'll do we'll start with Sam's little display and I should go out the way.
I do because I just think it's important to see it because at least we can't even talk man. The views that we say today are our opinions and our opinions alone. That's fine. Just come on Facebook, come on the comments and I have a conversation.
There's no need to get anything out there. Get our readers and we're just trying to keep the toxic levels out of the pandems and out of the nerd community because it's not needed. It gets people right. Everyone has an opinion on the levels in a universe.
Some people actually love it. Some people actually did one like it. I think it's too commercialized now which I can see aspects of but again to me it's always going to remind us of my childhood of reading the comics and I've seen the things I would never thought I would see in a million years actually on screen as realistic as where ever going to get on this side of the ceremony and start injecting this and it's going to get real. It is a fun time we go and say it's something I've been smiling about all week, think about talking about.
Especially after the newest Marvel film which Simon hasn't seen yet so I'm not going to go into too much detail which was Shanshi and I have to say it was Marvel back to form. It's been one of the better Marvel films I've seen in a long time and I generally as a Marvel fan it was fun. The characters were interesting. No one had that annoying factor.
Everyone had that huge laggability. It had a lot of in jokes and it did well with characters which could have been controversial as well shall we see it with the mandolin. Mandolin, mandolin, mandolin, mandolin. That's the one I was trying to see it.
Yes it has it is in my negative favourite films I've seen this year as well. A lot better than Black Widow shall we see. Wow that's all Simon. If anyone is watching us on YouTube and see the big pile of clothes that's actually here I apologise.
My room is a battle of Pixar the moment and I realise to do the quality of my camera is so bad given the polls now but I knew one looks to watch any great. I don't do any camera. Oh tell us if you don't know a wonderful thing. It is given that I'm literally just watching the same one before we came on.

Happy birthday as well Donna. Happy birthday to do Big Three or? Yes it's turned all the way to now so we don't feel this bad but all these youngsters are coming on and showing us up there. Anyways I've got a question to ask here and it's one I was thinking of the MCU just when how did you feel when you first heard the Marvel was going to be doing films, movies and how did you feel about Iron Man being the character that was going to be the first one over the years?
It wasn't really like big news at the time because it was before Marvel was involved with Disney as a studio and it was just after I think Spider-Man or was it the X-Men films? Were being traded to the Marvel universe in a way in different aspects. We weren't actually told about the MCU connecting with the first Iron Man. We were just told that Iron Man was going to be coming out and it was going to be directed by John Favreau.
That was an interesting thing because before Iron Man, it wasn't just swingers or I think he'd done a few guest spots on Friends where he wasn't really that big of him. No he was from Friends and that was the shopper. I mean if he's had work out behind the camera I didn't know about it. I'm just thinking why is Peacht from Friends now directing this movie and now we don't why?
Because he's probably went in with a picture of the century as well though so going to the Marvel Studios and to see what the idea he has I would love to be in that meeting. I would love to be seeing it. I always wanted the job. I always wanted him to be part of the continuity team.
I had to sit there and make sure all of the movies are continuity. I wanted to be part of that team so badly. So we're down to the question that you asked. I was excited about Iron Man just simply because I like Iron Man as a character it was one of the most important things I was able to comment on.
I used to read as a kid and I love the story of I'd say the devil in the ball and stuff from the comics. I was always a big Iron Man fan and I think the big thing that got me pumped like really excited was the first time you saw the poster and you saw Iron Man's suit because you thought how's it going because in the comics it's quite robotic and not really fluid but when you saw the first poster where they saw the red and gold in the superhero poster we saw the star of your hand and gets the pistol out of the show and so much so in Black Widow. Even the poster was iconic and you thought right this could be interesting and I think the next part where I blew up and again I'll probably start about this a little bit was the custom. Yeah because you know I'm just making an awful lot.
Sorry because the thing that you notice as well marbled from the get-go nailed it with every single custom choice but not really made a mistake if you look back through them. No I think there was a lot of criticism over Chris Evans being Captain America and I think that sort of came off the back of Fantastic Four. Hey you played Johnny Stomp it's a very different character and I don't think he was very much welcome to the part but I think perceptions and opinions changed when you saw the best event because that is none of my top list because I have others that are still really enjoyed the origin of that because it's when you look at Marvel Origins and I can't speak with Shanti because I'm not seeing it but they have a formula and that kind of formula and I like this. Yeah we're talking about that.
So we'll talk about the first experience of the announcement of Iron Man shall we say because it didn't announce that MCU was the announcement of Iron Man as well. At the time I was an comic book reader and my husband was and I knew this and he would be excited about because Iron Man is one of his favorite characters but he likes Iron Man and I just I don't remember anything to do with the lead up to it I wasn't really interested it wasn't my thing at the time but I do remember going to Azda and picking up the you know how they do their own limited edition case and I got Iron Man and Hulk because we both identical to the only two that we've got in that format. I have all the rest in different like literally I think up until like Civil War and so after Civil War the role of Blu-ray but we followed that role on DVD. They're just all in different formats but I remember doing that but I got into Marvel in 2000, 2014 and 2000, 2014 was that the year of Guardians.
I watched the films with them and I liked them but not like I do now if that makes sense. Yeah so now it's more of a religion rather than anything else it's a need because that was one of our Nick four last week when we went to see Changshui I was like what the pictures watch we're saying I went there's only one film to see what I want to see Candy Man I want to see three guys I went there's a Marvel film out we're going to see the Marvel film. That's just how it is now but um leading from that question which I'd like to say was a brilliant question to start with I was expecting I like that though and I'm gonna go with my first pick I know what you're gonna make this day just because it's leading into what we're talking about. My first pick is Aynman.
So from 2008 yes. So is mine because I could not pick this one because one is the one we're not started from. If this field we don't have the rest of the Marvel film. We don't have anything else if that field and it was just perfect from start to finish there was nothing I do not like about that movie.
And down in June yeah Robert Downey, June is just I mean it's time to start. It's one of them things where the film says we're gonna go go big go home take a big swing it's not safety. They went honestly the one that went balls to the wall with this one like say we're having the put in next to the cast. We're going down in June your Jeff Jeff Bridges, I know Terrace and it turns some had a bit of an issue.
I think mine as a as a war machine. I didn't mind them as well until I saw Don Chino and I'm like yeah I've read Don Chino. Don Chino is already. Yes certainly and for an origin film as well it was done absolutely perfect.
The lyrics of the comics as well that had elements in but what we didn't realise as well was that little elements that had in that was gonna lead further on like the little little things from the 10 rings the guy who I cleared the main bad guy who kidnapped Tony Stark had a 10 rings tattoo on the back of his neck and now that's leaning into the same symbol again just to get back. Sorry I'm there to know it's just like that's fine going through all them different aspects I still have these ideas back there when I'm going from like say I haven't I just said Robert Downey, June, you're playing the ultimate playboy again we all know his backstory and how he's lived his life and if he couldn't hit Tony Stark then nobody was would have been he just like say it's one of these rules now when you think of in 10 years time but probably between the Aimeon nor the cant really ask them that's always gonna be the big thing but for that like say even the story wise the game Jeff Bridges been Aimeon that wasn't going away as a huge bad guy but it was fun it worked. I loved him and this is like the mirror this is how like Aimeon would still work on its own because you've got you've got Yellow Jacket you've got Jeff Bridges character that kind of over the eyes and you've got them to the story just kind of mirrors each other but it just works because I don't know I think if the introduction of the actual character is more far more important than the plot in how it plays out. I think what makes it what I loved about Aimeon as well like say was the elements that brought in like the playfulness and when Tony's in the garage building the suit and he's talking to these robots and these robots are like quite simple but they've got the one personality and they do that really well like when he crashes through the building and the robot lets go the fire extinguisher on him like five seconds to do it he can see his piss off and it's just comedy doing well but in an action film and a comic book film and everyone plays the parts and for an origin and there's nothing more iconic than the end scene when I when Tony starts doing the most 20-tark thing is having this interview at a press conference I mean he refers to him as a superhero and the guy who didn't call you that and he's like oh Aimeon and it's just like a perfect ending.
He gives his chills thinking of that end scene just because he does that long pause and it was Aimeon like that. There's nothing you can do about Aimeon and again it's the first one that introduces to the Marvel's table now is after seeing credits because I shit myself as soon as I saw Samuel Jackson so I wasn't expecting this I'm not one of these that found out beforehand when I saw it and I was like what is that me is this going to be more like they're not going to do it and then when you thought about you thought this is going to get so much so much I'm excited and led into so many other different things and that was absolutely breathtaking. Yeah no I totally agree with you I didn't quite get it at the time but first viewing which is which I'm happy of yourself. I really wish I was like they're like I tried like the Ants was and has been into comic books since he was a kid and I've always been interested but it didn't quite take the plumbly into it because there's a comic book reader and someone who wants to start out reading comic books it's a very intimidating thing to do because you don't want to know where it's staffed yeah I still today struggle to get like a comic book shop now I'm looking just only at issue one yeah I don't look at something else because it's you know you've got to try and find a gateway to get into it.
So I just wish I'd which I took the plunge earlier than what I did but I love my my origin when it comes to comic book reading and how I got there so I don't particularly want to change it and I love the first comic book I ever read so I don't want to change that for anything. The movies did help to get into the comic site. Oh definitely because I do your research afterwards and again when we said like we said to do this podcast as well we want to talk about the big Marvel moments and I don't think other than one will probably mention a little bit later on that I am I am part of the aspect well yeah that what is to me is the only one I still get makes it goes pimples and when I hear it and I said just to see the action like that and watch the first one thing this started such a thing this became a runaway train that we're still going to now we keep waiting for the one where to say oh it's not going to do so well I think I thought that was going to be like we don't but again I know a lot of people get get from it what they want it again that's just my personal opinion. I just think with that we're always a little it was just too late it was it should have been done well before it was we always wanted in a cash bill and we never nobody was in dispute that they didn't want to have her own film because you know all the rest of them had like why not actually been this is I'm onto and it was just too late in the game because we already knew Natasha's face unless that was going to change yeah then there's no reason to have that story because it's it's Natasha Van it's devastating to know that whatever she does in this.
Is it funny? Yeah. It doesn't mean anything because she's gone now. Yeah.
It was just a little bit too late. Yeah it seemed like a film just introduced Alina which again I'm not going to complain about but I could have done with having introduced in a sort of a TV show or in another film. I would have been happy with that but again that's just me crying over like giving us too much content so I'm not going to be spoiled one of them tomorrow. Certainly.
So yeah I am and is definitely one of mine couldn't not not pick it because it's just it is the starting point it is the reason why we have and it's not just like not for them reasons alone it's still one of the great Marvel films that's ever came out because it was where it was where it's where it started the blueprint for everything to come after it was it yeah it was a standard until you got to I'm a freak yeah about five words because that could be actually have five words I have to that I don't know why just felt like laziness and I don't know if this is the time when studios were getting changed and once you do always put their opinion in all of the rest and because she wrote what I renor Sean Black is a good director and I think when his name was pinned against I'm on three it was an exciting time but that is just an absolute shit short of a film it really is and there's only one say in grace when it comes to I am and three and he's going to disagree with me on it is in civil war when Tony says he he almost almost moved so for her and it still wasn't enough he still wanted to be I'm an because he really is I am an that kind of give it all care to the events that I am and three yeah because it kind of like the kind of just got pinned under the carpet a lot of the time except especially when they take away the actor out of these chests as well as the triangle too far with it but again we're talking about the positives rather than it's the only negative I have is it thought who I am and three started to get it was laziness and I'm a man three I think we can even have to check out like that's it say this is not all the way that we expected to and then and I'm gonna do my second pick because it leads in lovely the greatest Marvel movie ever came out and just just wanted to pick up you to the last two and it is when the soldier right absolutely this is my favorite movie ever there's nothing nothing will stop it for me because of how great it is it's not me top five really yeah it's a shop it's so good and I just at the time it was saying it was just what we needed yeah I agree with you yeah it was a good film it was a good but to me and again this is my this might take I didn't feel like a comic book film if that makes sense I felt like a very much a spy yeah I felt like I was watching James Bond in in and out which is not a bad thing again I'm not gonna it's just it didn't take the boxes and again we've had discussions before I love Chris Evans's cat but Captain America does bore us a little bit as a character he's too good he's too nice he's not really got the darkness that flex here other characters have he's too much in the Superman molds for me to get an invested input again it just into the wind the soldier that was but he is a very very good complex character which I have enjoyed the evolution of and hope to see keep seeing him grow as well same here and I disagree with you a little bit on cap obviously I'm a massive character fan and even bigger Chris Evans fan but I always saw cap is a quite naive character where especially being hurled in the world that he doesn't understand and yeah and he's you know with the soldier when he's got his list like and he's like oh he's sort of a mob game that I'll add it to the list and he's trying he's trying to navigate a world he just doesn't get and he needs this is but he doesn't work good on his own this is why he needs a like of Sam Wilson and Natasha and even bookie to an extent because he needs somebody to navigate him and I think the relationship between him and Sam is beautiful and I love the fact that that transcends to now him and bookie it's like he's got a part of he's got a part of Steve with them because bookies there and I love their chemistry I am a huge Sam Wilson fan now because of how Anthony might be played him and I think it's testament to him that I when when Sam Wilson in the comics got upgraded to Captain America and it was back in 2015 I believe and maybe 14 and I remember being so excited to go and get that issue because I was like wow this is like this is history like this is this means something and now the fact that people are sitting on screen and he's gonna be Captain America I just I love it like it gives us chills just thinking about the the prospect to have this character I love Sam as a person and he's he's heart is so in the right place he understands cap in a way I don't think anyone could I like that I think the big element I did love about the whole when the soldier aspect was the fact that the way right when it heard down the rules and get rid of shields and take that safety that safety net away and think right that aspect made it more interesting because since the Avengers came out shields was all this is a big thing that was trying to get people together they didn't have that before they had to then basically go alone and get the decisions that they were doing from basically themselves and I'm getting bringing hydro back as well brought a new element in different things how they did the goal and that was a great element that I could continue throughout the films and it's still continuing in aspects in like say in the Marvel Universe today which again I never thought they would have the balls to do to be honest but they have some very great of choices and again they did that with this one as well the only thing I thought was the person I know I've always had issues with her as well as Emily who is Sharon Carter and I said it always makes me as a part of it around like a little bit uncomfortable at times but I just don't I wasn't trying to share it in the comics and I'm even not a big fan of it in the Marvel Universe I did not give to who's that this character was in there I was so happy on what happened on to this week's episode of what if I was actually you're in here and I just don't find her interested in the characters as a second-range Peggy Carter and she's not even that good and I'm just don't I'm not interested in Emily Vampen's Sharon Carter and just with Whitney Soldier it was a game changer and it was doing a different way because I'm not I'm not a James Bond fan like I don't do spy films and but I thoroughly enjoy the aspect of that. Are you looking at that? No I just thought I saw the caps that's all so I was trying to get it. You just want to see your randomly clicking like you're ready to break out a dance?
I am sorry I was just trying to make sure it's been coming to distract at all and destroy but what I was going to say is well with the game changer as well this is the first time where I know we'll have some big actors there was some big roles but because we had Hollywood royalty in Winter Soldier as well with Robert Redford would you ever imagine having someone with the kit like I'd say the back catalog and like say the credentials that Robert Redford has in a Marvel film? I think the acting chops on that guy is amazing. He said he did it for his grandchildren. Yeah which I love how I was there.
I think a lot of actors do that. My earbuds are exactly the same. When it comes to casting Marvel get it right so good and I love the fact that Michael Douglas is Hank Kim. I thought it was a genius idea.
But all the older actors do it for their kids so their grandkids want to be a part of it because they know what it means and all the likes of Martin Swarcy as he has come out and give his opinion on comic book movies. But there was a market there and it's aimed at people like me and you because not me in particular because this isn't something I've been into my whole life but you know it sounds like a big spin and more of the people. You get to see real life. What you imagine in your head as a kid?
Yeah, not 100% and I think people always, I've got this and I've got this and I've got this and I've got this and I've got this and I've got this and I've got this and I've gotten emotional during these films as well because their take is back to when I was a kid and believe it's not like a same Christopher Reece line when you believe the man was the fly and I was not Marvel but seeing Superman on the big screen. I've gone to the TV was huge and again after reading it from the page and using your imagination thing it's escapism. It takes you out of the way what's going on in the world and it just makes you think like anything kind of happens as cheesy as that sounds. I'm excited, it makes me excited again and that's what movies in general do to me and I've followed up and I'm always big, like until I'm all grown, like in the old rock and gents I'll always be a fan of movies and Howard effects us.
I thought this was going to be in your pick legs in, I knew Cap was going to be in there somehow. I just didn't know whether it was going to be one, two, three. No, I had to go over into Soulja Am I guess, would it be, we had no intention of watching it at all. I really didn't and because of the after effect of Thor 2 and Iron Man 3 we were really done with this and then we were like nothing else to watch got it up and ripped, ripped from Starf Finish and it was like this is what we've been waiting for and it's just, I went hard, like I really did.
After I finished watching this I'm going to keep it up at Bird Vegas when the Soulja, and if you've ever read Bird Vegas when the Soulja is a masterpiece, like complete masterpiece and then I'm thinking of civil war and anything to do with Cap. I'm like I'm just de-diagnited like this and this is what I was like in the beginning when I was watching these films. I was like the minute it was over I'm on Wikipedia and I'm like which one I pick up next to and I read a lot. So I'm going to move on to my next pick now just because I like that one.
I'm going to go with one probably you wouldn't have been able to predict now because I think a lot of these ones were going to have very similar tears to but this one I didn't expect to love it as much as I did but to me this has the best bad guy in any of the Marvel phones so far and all Thanos is the ultimate for again to me as a human level he was a measm and not scary but his views it's hard to argue with him again and he's a reason and so it was 2018 Black Panther. Oh my gosh I would not have thought that would be on your list. I absolutely was blown away and Michael Big Jordan absolutely smashes it out of the park as Gilmunga. Like I say his views and reasons why he's wanted to take off Wakanda to help well not help for to to gain take back what he feels rightly belongs to people of his culture which again with everything that's gone on especially in the last two years with everything that's gone on in America and over in the UK as well.
You can't argue against it really and everything like sorry couldn't have again and that sounds really weird it's a lovely film like full of family full of friends and people who actually you can feel the love in this film as well. Going down from the cast from everyone who was in it again the great Chadwick Boughton which unfortunately will not say again in a Black Panther outfit he absolutely smashes it and again we got lucky enough to have two episodes of what if if you've seen it like say the well Chachala takes Star Lord's role it takes you on a roller course and it's so emotional at the end again I did have a tear watching it. I absolutely bowled my eyes out to think that Chachala as Star Lord made the universe and the people in it better because that's the kind of person and infectious energy that he gives out is just nothing but kindness and that's all he took to me. What's his name?
You got a copy of his name? Rooker's character. Oh, I got you. Thanos.
He turned that off around because he's that good but it was beautiful. It was such like I don't think it was meant to go down that way of a tribute but it was such a tribute to the man who graced us even just for a couple of films with that character. I am so I can really emotional thinking about him because it is so sad and it's not just the selfish part that we've lost a black panther now who gives a shit. He was a young man who worked while he was going through probably the worst time of his life.
You can see there's an interview actually someone put it online where you can see him in Ken while he's sitting with all the rest of the Avengers and Paul Bettany just looks over to him and he's walking and he just yawns and he's exhausted but he did it because that was the kind of guy he was he was just he was committed and I do like black panther I just had more on the list. That's what you mean. And at the time it was perfect the response that came out of America alone because I think this is the fun that I've changed. Not to say that's changed before everyone would give the black culture.
I said all right. I think he brought it to you for that because I can say that predominantly you don't see a lot of heroes since then before that had been like to a white or Caucasian. This one came out it was similar to when Wonder Woman came out for a lot of the female population that was like give someone to get hold of it or get someone like kids to involve as well. And again I want to talk about iconic scenes and stuff that we love.
There's nothing more iconic and then kill them on the wall and in that throne room and just say that Angela Bassett. Hey Andy that is just absolutely. Oh my god. The woman is beautiful as well.
That woman does not be here. She is just timeless. The cast in this law was absolutely perfect. I mean you've got Daniel, Gary, Nicole who also plays on in there.
I'm going to get a lot of names from here. I've got five announcements. Absolutely horrendous. But I know Dan Agarara because obviously she's been showing in the walking day.
The Peter Naeungai that's how you see it. And I'm excited. Even the guy Winston Duke who played in Bocko is absolutely amazing because he's a bit of a dick. He's a little bit of a dick.
And he was like, we will eat your babies. And we're just vegetarian for a thousand years. Even the support and cast like a little character like Forrest Whitty. And it was absolutely pretty raw.
Andy Serkis as Crop was absolutely hilarious. And even Martin Freeman doing the dodgy of the American accent since in a while. But he was still entertaining too. I think he was English people.
We need to apologise Martin Freeman. Oh, Dordi. He's an actual treasure. He's accent's not the best but I think he played a good role in that.
But it was the first introduction of Wakanda and the whole Vibranium thing as well getting like more than where that came from and showing what it can do. And taking the Marvel Universe to a next level now. That's the important thing. And I am excited for my ex-cigable Wakanda forever which I'm hoping to go down the route of makes you're given Shuri the outfit.
That would be absolutely up my street. I devastated that within the MCU Shuri is not going to go brain to brain with 20 stars. True. I would have loved her seeing that especially when the talk which she talks about, Nanotech, it's a cool technology when 20 years literally just been working on it all tech for his suits.
And I wanted them to go head to head and it's not going to happen now and I'm good at it. We are getting some other than the Vibranium though. Because it was the end of Wakanda forever. We are going to get the debut of Vibranium.
Vibranium. Yes. I remember when Riri was first introduced a new video years ago. I read a couple of her issues.
She's a bit she-very sassy. I remember. It's going to be an interesting to you. It's going to be a gang story I'm unsure what you say.
I think she's a lot more humbler humbled than Nan Tony ever was. It was a time to be fair. I was arguing the other day I heard it was a big mistake. Dr.
Strange, I told you, Stark. We both match each other really. We really do. I forgot Riri Williams is coming in with that's exciting.
But Black Panther was just, it was very emotional watching all, not just the movie itself, but watching all the lead up to it and then the aftermath of it and seeing people in the Black community and getting a superhero. When they, every, not ever, never, they walk through in the slightest. They're just, they're just, you got a, you got a, you got a tear set of what legs in. Again, your experience of being introduced to the comic world as your aspect, your experience that way.
Again, they were going through the same way with their new hero. Again, I don't think I'm wrong with this. I'm going to make a statement this was the first time the Academy Awards actually took a superhero from Marvel universe. Yeah.
Again. Hopefully me had continued. Yes. It was like, it was, it was, it was like when Jordan Peele got nominated and won for a horror film.
That was like the level like the Black Panther finally gets it like we get a record, the comic industry get a recognition through that movie. Yeah. We'll save you some bitch. Yes.
We mean business. Well, I'm going to my next one. I'm going to go, yeah, I'm going to go with this one because it kind of, you mentioned that Panther is very family oriented and I, from this, my next one, I guess, the such a family aspect to it and that I couldn't quite decide which one to go with. Did I go with one or did I go with two?
It's Guardians of the Galaxy. So the first one did you pick? I picked the first one because that was where the love of hair started. I, when I remember the lead up to this and everyone's going, who the fuck's the Guardians of the Galaxy?
Why the bringing in a team that no one's heard of and I thought to myself, I'm not going to look into this yet. I'm going to see what this brings first. Then I'm going to, I'm going to do me, I'm going to do me investigations on it. We watched it, it was a, I think it was a summer movie and we watched it on a very bad copy.
Oh dear. So just a, just a quick, before you go any further, it is on my list as well. Oh my, the brilliant. So, so I'm joined to pick that.
I agree completely with what you said. It would come out with such a left field when you were thinking about all the other Marvel films that probably started to use and then announced Guardians of the Galaxy. I think I don't have a fucking scooby who got into the Galaxy's. All we saw was that post or whether it had a rat looking raccoon and a dodgy person went a dodgy mask and a tree and I was like, what the fuck?
I'm watching Lord the Rings against this. But yes, from the moment that you saw the trailer, that was the big thing. And when you saw the film, wow, again, just a, this film has the best soundtrack in any Marvel films that hands down. Hands down.
It's just clear and the play it out and Jim's gone. I don't think anyone else could have gone back to the film these minutes since then with him doing the suicide squad as well, which had a very guardians of the Galaxy fail. Just a bit more grotesque crazy. If James is going to do a film that has a massive ensemble of a cast, you're always going to look at it like, well, he's just doing God, he's gone to you.
But he's a very good with larger castes, shall we say. We watched it on a very, very bad copy, but it didn't stop how it felt about it. And I remember, I went to Dottam Park one day and they used to have a very, like, a cheap DVD and a CD shop. And I remember going in there and picking a straight, oh dear, really, he's picking a straight up.
That in case of what to, but I remember picking up and I had to watch it straight away. I was, I was so invested in these people. Rocket is one of my favourite characters, not just on the screen, but in comics, I absolutely adore him. I remember reading cat Marvel and he was in it and he's the one who identifies a brick and which is the cat.
And when he meets, when he meets Sam, when it's not Goose, it's a flute article. And I think it's like an awesome thing like that. And Goose in the comics is actually called Chewy. And when he meets Chewy, he goes absolutely nuts.
Like he's ready for murder. Like he's going to murder this cat and it was just so funny. And he's always my topic on Marvel versus Capcom. I always pick Rocket Rocket.
Always. Down to the custom as well. Like when you say Robert, like again, Bradley Cooper? Who the hell said, let's get Bradley Cooper to do a voice.
I could not tell that that was him. I still can't. But again, it's such a big actor and like say again, very pretty boy face. You could think of him as a big role in the Marvel universe, but he got a bit of Rocket.
And I don't think you would have it any other way. I think that is now. Like say perfect, as the characters go, as the films have evolved and like the same more of Rocket, he has the one that's become, and I'll tell you a bit more of human in a way. I love watching Rocket and his development because obviously he's so hardened because of what he's been through.
But at the same time, he's a bit of a softy. He doesn't take him long to break when it comes down to me. He saw in the galaxy, he's ready to leave Quill. Quill's gone off to go and save Gamora and he's ready to leave.
And it's grew to who kind of like, well, there are friends and he was going, they're not my friends. And he was like, we don't have any friends anymore. You have friends and when he realizes he changes, but he does that quite a lot. He's like, he's a chemistry between him and Thor.
I never expected it. I never expected it. I didn't know I wanted it. Now I want more.
I want to see more of them together because they work so well. He's just a softy who portrays himself as a bit of a hard case. You see that in the second one? Well, that's a thing.
You can put Rocket with any character like Robert and Boogie, it's hilarious. Rocket with Maxime at the Hulk is a good team as well. Everything you see with, he is gold and I think Marvel half hit on perfect foil for a lot of things. And again, if you are going to do the next story arc where you find out that Robert's created in Guardians 3, that would be something that I would hold quite close to me hard.
Again, even having Vin Diesel doing the voice of Groot, who just is Iron Groot, is a good joke within Marvel Universe, which has done really well. Oh, yeah, definitely. And what was I going to say? It was about Groot.
I love the end scene where Groot sacrifices himself. I'm like, what do you say? Is we all Groot? But I love the fact that it wasn't over and he came back.
But he comes back younger and apparently he doesn't know that he went through that. He loses all of his memories. So he's a brand new, shiny twig. He's a new Groot.
And I was so sad at the fact that I loved the idea of it, but I was sad that I was like, oh my God, he's nothing at all that he did that big surprise. Sometimes you don't need to know. That's what a hero is. That's why I would love this character.
That's very true. I just love it. The colours, I mean, even in the second one, when it comes to the colour and the scenery is just absolutely stunning. But it was the same as the first one.
It's just a beautiful film of friends and family. And I have nothing but high regards for this one. Yeah. And again, going back to what Marvel will do well.
It's not only do you have interest in bad guys. I'm a bad guy in this. Is it Lee Pearce? Yeah, Lee Pearce is a Zen.
Oh, Ronan. Ronan. Ronan. Ronan.
Ronan, if you're in the compret? Concrete, that's the one. He's such an interesting character in this as well. You can feel the anger in this pure rage.
And then you see the Nova Corps as well. I know we'll get Nova, but having them aspects in it as well was quite a good touch. I loved the fact that we even got the Nova Corps in there. I never expected in the slightest at all.
And Glenn Close. Yeah. Wow. Wow, that was both.
And the guy who plays, oh, I can't pronounce his name at all. But he's the one who was a bunch of a-holes. He was the ticket. He was sort of dead.
He's also the voice of Darth Maul. Right. In the Phantom Menace. And that's what I love about Andy's in short of the dead as well.
I do love that guy a lot. And I was when I saw him on screen, I didn't ever then obviously money. He does a big sacrifice to us. I'm going to see him again.
That's so sad. But what I have to give a big show of all, a big surprise of the film for me and also from the franchise. If this is a taste as drags. Wow.
Wow. Did not see that coming. Did not expect to get the level. How could we talk about Guardians and I could not bring up the taste of the taste of.
Because, wow. Yeah. I was not a fan of the taste of the wrestler. He was a one-notch, one-notch, 40.
There was nothing interesting. My skills were basic. They weren't great. And then he plays drags.
Yeah. It doesn't know where we- It doesn't know a lot of different ways where you care, you know, you share. They say the frankness as well because the music, they don't get sick. I have everything to say.
Even the jokes said, they won't go over me head. I will catch you. I will catch you. They say you can love me like this.
You can do that. I'll be good with my reflexes. Even though I'm not so dry. But again, same when I wrote his journey as well.
His story tells for that one. So he wants to do it with the revengeise family. He lost because of Thanos and again, I wasn't saying it. When I announced the casting, I again I should never doubt Marvel when it comes to casting.
It's going to work as a note. It's a totally smashed it for me. and he's in star-loud and yeah he's in my opinion has changed of him over the last few years but you're right he just played really good star-loud you don't know what to tell him it was better let's go to the end of the universe he just kind of made it annoying a little bit but what I love and he ruined it he ruined it Paul let's not forget what happened in infinity war it's all his fault true but what I do like about it as well was the fact that it was saved by Dansoff inspired by Kevin Degan and Philip Cutlass don't forget he's seen the gloopers of that no oh my god it's so funny so he obviously starts doing his dance off and then Lee Pearce stops doing it as well and fortunately Pearce dance as Ronan is just absolutely brilliant and again for guardians it was another level to marvel it would add in these levels on without you even so yeah it was the first one where they went out to space so this was brought to the next end of the space and I know what it had thought what we didn't really see like what the galaxy was like shall we say no it's as she was not as hard as hard as it was in a primary place in thought you got to see it but it wasn't primary to where you know what you got you got introduced to a different parts of the galaxy because of the guardians and it was the same with the second one now I am I am now since a reader of the guardians of the galaxy and they do come into kind of marvels and story quite a lot and I always remember reading about Peter's dad because Peter's dad is not he on the looking planet he's a guy called um jay song jay postrific song and he is a dick a massive dick and I was really pleased that they weren't going to go down that route and and do it that way because it then becomes incredibly political and I didn't feel that's what we needed from the guardians one adventure and we won fun and we want to see them on screen all the time so I was so happy they didn't go down the actual danny route and we got curd result so well. Well certainly as a whole I think guardians is up there with one of the top not just marvel films but actual comic book films I would say and totally changed the game and the landscape on how we went forward as well as we saw with like even like the newer ones like the new ones I didn't think we would have got there if the guardians didn't work as well as it did but yes so that was that was gonna be my third pick as well so that was your second pick is that right?
and so if I joined you know what I was your third as well so I've had with that I'm on together I've talked about that you've talked civil war, civil war, civil war, uh when it's all yeah and then we're going guardians so that was our third pick so I've watched well I was going to suggest like say if you've got nothing else to see on the guardians I was going to move on to my next pick which I do think that you will have as well. Go for it. Is it all Ragnarok? No I do not.
How do you not have Thor Ragnarok the best Marvel film? Because I have two others that take its place I get it and if I had another if I had one more pick it would have been in there because it was a game in another game changer we were sick to shit of four villains and then Tiger YT you went there have this. So again this is probably why I love this film this was such a homage to all the eighties aspects 80 films put together like the soundtrack again another great soundtrack not as quite as guardians of the galaxy but it's still up there with the soundtrack but to make a such a boring character and Thor is boring but he's got comics he isn't that most interesting character out there. Might not be then but Jason Aaron has been writing Thor for the last few years and all my all my Thor fans are so fun though oh my god but yeah Jason Aaron has been writing Thor for the last few years and if I could remember the names of the comics I would tell you them and I cannot I do have them in my in another room oh I don't know he's now but I'm not gonna look at him but yeah he's been writing him so that it honestly one real like he's made Thor as interesting as he is in the movies it's really good Jason Aaron pick it up but when I was like say we got in that because I know Chris Hemworth himself had said he was bored of doing Thor I don't think he would have done any more Thor films if this one didn't come about and he showed off what he can actually do because he wasn't just like a man that looks I know he was quite funny in the answer called the Ghostbusters and that wasn't the best film but he was actually a standout comedy role in that I actually quite liked him but as Thor this is his turn in point this is his like Valhalla shall we say but everything was interesting about this it's again it's hopefully in the script and right what can we do to change up if basically the Cotties hair the minimum look normalish and it took the piss out and quite heavily when he was keeping referring himself as the strongest Avenger and that whole aspect and again I know the elements of another great comic book to try and get get finally getting filmed because I know those problems with the rights of doing Planet Hulk and so this is there we around it and getting them elements in and they're done it in a way which works so well and the Hulk is a standout performer in this as well and again going back to when we talk about standout iconic moments in the Marvel Universe seeing Thor in the pit and having active the Hulk across the room and you think there's going to be this big fight and Thor just goes that's my friend from work and you see Lordy's vision as well and you think all it just comedy chops that you don't even expect from such an aspect but absolutely brilliant again the colors used in this outstanding and absolutely unreal like M's the car is just beautiful I mean Jeff Goldo and the Grandmaster oh my god I mean as in tighter is just so good at writing subtle comedy like and it's not like belly lapping bunny it's just subtle and the whole get help yeah and just seeing and seeing that other layer of the brothers as well like and especially in the literary forces and he says to me like look you're like you must be disappointed or did you grieve or something like that he was like I was heartbroken like I I'm warned you like and you can just tell he's totally done like he understands Loki's never got a change but it doesn't stop him from not loving him yeah and that and the revenge is I want to see the revenge I thought tessa Thompson and his Valkyrie on real I like how they introduce the Valkyrie through her because it is and I think it was it's a it's not no wait two seconds you are very dark way and there is life he can't be seen I'm not going to have to don't worry I was just thinking about how you got like on and no but I think I don't know the Valkyrie massively important but a very good part of Asgard that like interesting to know about yeah but it's called yeah cool yeah cool I think it goes take away take this call when the phone stuff in and he's kicking off ghost oh and the whole name the whole what you you got thrown up by a hammer what the hammer you are you know you got to talk about it haven't you talk to him I just absolutely love him and I love the fact that we got to see him again in it was in game yeah I think he's going to be in love and thunder as well I've heard so we're going to see more air code going forward but I think again the person who I myself who literally was the stand-out character who made the film absolutely was the heartbeat Kate Blanchard hello oh my god hello hello hello like bad guys she's up there she was amazing and the look of her yeah how she looked how she perceived herself I just I was in it and oh my god Carl Urban and this god wow like I love Carl Urban so much and that he played exactly the whole I call his text and s that he's just so good he's so good in the soundtrack you write that they're listening to and Led Zeppelin in his creation song that was not an answer yeah immigration so yeah I mean listening to that while Thor is in his fight is oh wow um me as an but I say go I think come back to what you said about Robert Redford doing it for his grandkids I'm sure Kate Blanchard did this for her kids as well she said her kids have been going to be in a marble film and it was just perfect asian and this is a time where I know we've got more low eating in the dark worlds but this is where we actually saw I think we're falling over low eat a little bit more in Ragnarok this is where Tom person just become that lovable stamp that we didn't want to hit and didn't ever want to go away a little bit and hopefully you never will it was the sadness when I realized that when he in his TV show and he takes a test of rap and when he goes through that portal and I'm like he's never going to know that you made up of his brother he's never going to know that he was a hero that he actually did something right but obviously we got that evolution relatively sure he got there eventually so to me it was always going to happen for him once we watch once I watch the show I was like oh thank god and the what was I going to say um oh I'm sorry no that's why I love these films you get you're excited it brings back little things you might not have noticed the first round but as I said before the cast and everything with the Marvel universe hasn't went wrong with Thor Ragnarok everything like every dodge was perfect and have the change up by even destroying the Asgard and making them go now to then give us the first steps towards infinity war when we saw that ship at the end we knew what was going to happen but I would say that that's one up there with one of my favorite Marvel films and I've left me favorite to last but that's me too more personal for anything else but yeah I think I'm happy I'm making sure with that so yes so that was mine.
My next one I'll shove you a little bit because I don't know I think there's so many more that you could choose other than this but this was the one that really I think it's cemented where I was at as a Marvel fan it's the Avengers right okay it's the first Avengers I still cry my eyes out to this year when all of them when you see the camera angle pan around and they're all there I bought my eyes out I absolutely love nothing more than watching a group of friends develop a friendship and this is the start point and it's not perfect yeah which tends to happen in large groups of people like Iron Man and Tony and Steve do not like each other it's very evident given and what it is like when you when you get into the mithos of marvel and you see you know you watch Harry Carter and you don't realize how it's like how it's like how it's like how it's like how it's like how it's like very very connected to Steve yeah even after he passed like he still held responsibility for Steve and then known that him and his son don't get on it's like oh man like this I do love it I knew this was going to be one of your choices like it is up there like when you get the emotional side of things like even like the world word player between Steve and Tony is his amirs and the callbacks to do it later films it's like and it's safe says to Tony you're not the type of person to to lay it down on the grenade or to lie on the barbed way and he goes no I find the way around I could throw it I could use a smart way and it sits in putting the suits and he's going to think that good that could come up with you without a bottle I'd be down creating stuff like so you can tell there's there's this respect there but it's not grown there yet it's kind of like the eagles are too big to let the other one make two different sides two different worlds though because like Cap is a traditionalist thinks and then he acts and it's all him where is Tony's the science part where he thinks he creates any acts and it's just not the cap's world and that's not Tony's world and they just clashed like so much but in civil war there's so much hurt on Tony's side because he was something there between them and he knows it and the hurt and it was even even when you go into end game and when he comes back and um the friendship it means something to him and he's and but he doesn't he doesn't know how it's sure probably in cats exactly the same they're very similar in some ways but very different at the same time and I just love I want to see just the it was a part of the age of old friend that I love so much and I've never wanted to see him and they were literally just sitting around with the thought with all his hammer and I just want to see them talking and them having to drink together and do you know what they just the the building the the rapport and the conversations and and you don't get a lot of it but when it happens for me I'm like I'm totally like invested I'm stuck in the industry away no I'm excited it's a lot of a fair like I love letter to all Marvel type aspects the Avengers is when the way they did it I thought it was a short genius bringing Lottie back as the main vibe guy and alluding to the bigger threat that was coming with Thanos even though it seemed to look a few times before we got Thanos at the end which is always interesting but um it's that whole journey that the Star Wars on and the thought can this be made is it going to be too much and the bit of just right and again there was all this happy at times I go all when in Germany and then say no I will not kneel for anyone and I'd man like you and stuff again it's cheese but it borders on that line when it's too much but as I said the iconic moment for me and that one is basically the big circle where the going round even though the cutout was who was originally possibly part of the original film but got got got got got got back later and we got there eventually and it worked out perfectly and that yeah that's seen with the old man and then Capcom's in and was in the last time I was in Germany and someone asked me to kneel it didn't end well and I was like oh you did it and the scene with the scene so this is how great Marvel Oracle is the playbacks the scene in the park with the three of them fighting for Iron Man and Cap comes back into play at endgame when the base Thanos has the three of them it is absolutely perfect it gives me massive chills. I still have nothing aspect a little bit out of it when you say Cap and Tony and Thor fighting in the park I'm sorry but Thor would actually demolish it was too much of an evil fight for my lagging but uh but I don't know you wear it though drapes yes point deck point bricks absolutely love it's all the Avengers is my next pick and I can't mean it won't be last pick even though I've mentioned it so many times already so again just to go back to the Avengers as well like every beat and it like the bits I got from a dot meant more to me was the little things like the weirdness at the end stank and the seven and like seeing the little kids drawing my pictures and like Mark Roflow's comments I say what you say but I'm always angry which was a good turn point and again how come we're not talking about like say the big bit at the end where Tony and Loki confessed to face for the first time he said I've got an army we've got a Hulk yeah it's and then you have the amazing smash of Loki on the floor which still makes me even I've seen it a million times and it really isn't that funny so next lap I still gotta get a lot of it and even the whole punching Thor and there's a win you know it's coming and it's just also while you mentioned the Hulk this is the first time he's in Mark Roflow as a Hulk who in their right mind looked at Mark Roflow and went yeah your your Hulk but it works yeah it's a brilliant Bruce Banner yeah I think that's a lot of the elements I do is get missed out when you think of the Hulk is you have to have a good Bruce to be thing and there's a ground misterum as well a niceness where if you met Bruce Banner you could never find him like a threat or anything horrible I know we've got like a smart Hulk or Professor Hulk in later on which was quite an interesting one genius it's just being an elemental an inspired choice again but Pearson's era is that marveled in me I think it was another company the Universal who did Edward Norton one which I don't dislike too much but I don't like him as Bruce Banner if that makes sense it's too easily yeah I don't even put it in the timeline anymore it's not even there it never happens and it's not for any other reason then it's just it's not a good movie at all like I didn't mind Edward Norton as Bruce and it's just it's not great it really isn't quite so glad it's still you as the guy who plays London about Rose back in later on I thought I was really really good but yeah that's my pick the Avengers cool so I'm going with my ultimate Marvel film now me when I was growing up actually I always been a DC fan I was always drawn to the dark side like Batman and stuff but I was always one character within the Marvel universe that was like I would say the shine light that kind of made us I could enjoy and just like every element or every type of incarnation that is seen I've always loved I love the comics I love the card in that game and that's probably been the best PlayStation game that's ever been yet just personal but there's always been something about the films that was brought out before the Marvel universe like it was two good ones and a really bad one and then we've done it again with two four-kish ones we've never really hit the one this one absolutely smash it again we've never had where we've had a good Spider-Man or a good Peter Parker and when Tom Holland come on he is Peter Parker and I don't I've forgotten about Toby why you're in Andrew Garfield they've again done different good roles and inputs the ultimate one for me my ultimate Marvel film and I do get emotional it brings us back so so many years of love and the God right is a Spider-Man homecoming and it didn't they didn't do it cheesily and again the cast and the bad guys Michael King as Edvulchier which again you don't in the comics is such a cheesy and awful bad guy as basically an old man that steals people's youths to get younger again who flies as a vulture which again sounds absolutely horrendous but the way they did this and they've done it so well and the changed characters which I thought couldn't be changed like MJ is not now Mary Jane Watson I love that and I love the native as well I think she was a great choice she them too but their two chemistry isn't it is true and I see it like I see them two working very well together yes but going back to the exit the old mid-spy-man which is Tom Holland again I will argue with anyone to this day it says he is not the best Spider-Man because as Peter Parker he's brilliant he's nerdy he's awkward he's funny he's intelligent and as Spider-Man he gives him that confidence and and that's what we've always lacked in Spider-Man the Spider-Man in the comics even next day we show what we've had for a few seasons that's from Disney of course now the amazing Spider-Man I recommend going watch yeah I'm going to say this really good as Spider-Man he always has this cheat almost cock show of himself attitude and as this now we are getting nuts and in all we have these like he's turning point where he delved himself in the late Spider-Man from because he was he's meant to be in Tony Stark but in Spider-Man homecoming he was so show of itself even though he was getting used to his house because he had to admit he's still a high school he's still learning and how they tried to make him the neighborhood Spider-Man was perfect and that hilarious part was when he's done on the building and that guy at the picture he's Spider-Man dual backflip and he's like yeah we love you Spider-Man it's just like coincident just makes you think this is fun and out of all the outfits again and all they have changed things I'm so glad they went with the original and because it's iconic he thinks Spider-Man you know it's red and blue and how he looks and you can change it elements but not much to keep that aspect and I like how they've done a Tony Stark element to is that a new Ted talker? the Tony talker? it's a new Tony Sank yeah so but yeah I'm watching this film from start to finish I'm smiling it's and even though the man and me are hot and didn't kill you guys and all the women and I'm so happy they didn't have to say it will then die again because we didn't need it didn't need to I think that was perfect in civil war when he's just about to start telling the story and Tony just cuts him up and goes don't even know that and I love the vulnerability side of the vulnerable sorry side of Tom Holland's Peter Parker especially when he's faced a base with Tony in civil war and he says you know I wasn't a good athlete then I'm not a good athlete I shouldn't be a good athlete now and you can see it's like he's got all these cameras that would make him the person that he probably thought he wanted to be and he can't do it and it's just it's always the message with great power comes great responsibility and it does ring cheer without even having to see it through the film he just embodies it which again I still can't believe we've seen and now we're getting more and hopefully like they're Sony and Disney don't fog up and catch the bitch by the way like I said I'm going to the trailer reaction money talks and money acts and money owns and they are making the money that that relationship will be solid it will it's making the money true and when you think exit when this material is because I'm I'm hoping to always all correct I will still talk to him all over another six five months and he's kind of acts which is exciting I know potentially I could have read that wrong but I'm hoping to believe it's true because in the comics as well he is one of the most powerful like adventures exist as strong as half he's as intelligent as Tony and again with with my argument is DC has the better balance until you come to Spiderman and he has more side and out of the Marvel universe has more interest in villains I mean we're gonna see a lot of them in the next service we're gonna see a lot of them in the new film I guess a lot of the old ones are doing but like things I'm excited to see and hopefully we'll see like I want to see a creative and on that I'll say that element and make sure I'll go get that sports by apparently not and I want to see you cross over and see Spiderman versus Venom I want to see now we've got to go done and it's not going to be both the emo spider sure I wouldn't mind seeing Tom how Tom Holland wear the black outfit get the symbiote for a little bit that would be quite interesting and the elements are coming like table getting more fierce as well the human vampire that leads into Spiderman and again one of the two characters that we could see Spiderman combining with which again if it does it's going to take all me money one Deadpool Deadpool now can be in a Spiderman film and the fact that we've had a brilliant run recently of Deadpool and Spiderman working together they'll be creative input around how you could put that on screen because I think Tom Holland and Ryan Reynolds together that's perfect yes also as well the last one I was just going to mention before we move on to the last pick the character that Spiderman introduced to us and we are begging for in the M.C.U the Punisher I swear to god like I'm not a fan of the Punisher didn't agree with what he stood for not I was never interested in Civil War I just wanted to kill him or dead up just I wanted him gone he was a pain in the arse but then you get Daredevil season two yeah John Berthanol breaks in as Frank Castle and all you shit it just it changed the game for me when it comes to the Punisher and I want to see that now with John in the M.C.U and that has to happen has to be a bit of a shooting.
Spiderman is the perfect gateway for that because I can see in the comics he was the person who introduced the Punisher that started that will run and then the Punisher he come to character as the anti-hero I would love to see the Punisher first trying to tip on Spiderman or doing something that Spiderman doesn't agree with and that that is the combination I think that would be the element because what we got in Daredevil season two was what pretty much would have happened in the what we got in the comics first round with Spiderman as the Daredevil role so that would have been like it's a bit interesting for me and again if the room is a true see Charlie Cox being Matt Murdock and Spiderman 3 but yeah bring that shit on yeah bring it on bring the best parts of the defenders into the M.C.U and do it now just do not bring Iron Fist in do not bring and if you are recast recast because that is not what I was expecting but I'm not going to run since it's not about run past and so my last one is not everyone's favorite and it ended the Infinity saga it's Endium yeah I was going to go on a massive like build up there and then I was like it ended it's like it ended it's when it comes down to Best Moments in Marvel movies yeah this has some of this one Infinity War that makes me that makes me wish I lived in America to watch this to watch Infinity War and watch Endgame because when Thor lands on Wakanda and shouts bring me Thanos and I want to scream the players down and it's exactly the same in Endgame there is so many points where I just want to cry and scream and I still today I can't watch the scene when at the end where you get all the Avengers not just all the everyone from everyone and you all start exactly and just seeing him and then it just aren't the point where Sam just scores on your left yeah and then all the end and then it's to Charlie who's the first person out and oh my god it's absent and then he ran Avengers assemble for the very first time in all the 10 years we've not heard yeah I can see that and oh my god it I got chills I can feel my north starting to get tingly because I jick rick says to see you 10 years just there I can't talk I agree I completely agree with you 100% what you're saying where it normally starts for me on that scene is not when he's standing not when he's in here to your left it's when cap's beaten on the floor he's like great yeah all the shields and he pulls it and you stand there and again it's it's a call back to the Infinity got makes it a comic where he actually sees as long as one man stands in front of you you'll never truly uh you know truly win and that's when you'll turn up down as per Xis next yeah that's a different outcome on this one I think the different outcome on this one and yeah I get it it's the this the builder because it's like it didn't matter like that captain have anyone if he was going out he was born out by him which I think to him was what he was being always imagined and that scene is so powerful and because it's just it's 10 years yeah it's doing your not hard work and you know what what I meant to the people like it and again with everything that goes through that there's a lot of fun service all we're throughout in 100 percent but I am there for that fan service they completely um the the oh god no I've got so many things of end game running through my head I've completely lost it oh that's right it makes it a bit back at me as well as when cap proves he's worthy as well and picks up on you and you knew it was coming every since you saw Hannah come back into it and thought and go back and then you see if you end picked up you just thought oh shit and it was as magical and as amir as you wanted it to be since we thought that was a new it yeah since we thought that it's since like the age of Ultron we always knew he was gonna be the one that would be able to do that and but again the only thing next I know we've talked about in the previous podcast active there's a lot of false elements in this which again didn't attack it for the film but kind of didn't need to be to exit the whole woman girl power thing which was done I think I mentioned as well a lot better in the Mandalorian the way they did it and then but again it's just elements like that where I think they went over the line where it started from being one of the best to just being great because to me I always thought when I'm watching about the about I enjoy Infiniti War better as a film but mgame has a better moment so there'll be more emotional moments like saying Tony hugging Spider-Man for the first time start at Tony's yeah yeah yeah yeah please say in Kumara again again a bigger emotional moment and Nebula finally becoming good and genuine. I'm coming the nebula that I want to see because I've got a very massive soft spot for her and Tony's death scene is hot. It's not what it still makes me cry but it's not what to be over the edge and what to do over the edge is the end scene when you the final scene when you finally see this Peggy got Steve and Steve got Peggy and he got the light he got to live the best of all the worlds you have to have and see the world and be that side of him but also then go and have his relationship with Peggy and have his life with Peggy and I'm loved it and all it wasn't everyone's cup of tea and some of it you know it can be quite questionable when it comes to the whole idea of time travel in that film it did not matter to me that he got her in the end was what I was looking for and Sam getting the shield, hooking up even, it didn't even cross his mind like it yes it had to go to Sam I love the love, I love the movie in a hall but the end of it is probably what really makes it one of my favourites. No thanks yeah and again it's is the ultimate callback we mentioned at the start and I think it'll be a nice way to round up this segment of the podcast it started with I Am Man and I finished with I Am Man and that was absolutely quite a justice and again I bald because he knew it was coming he saw his face since he said I am never old with it and I said it went I am I am on and it couldn't be meant before even thinking and it just resonated so much and it was just like right that's putting the stamp and saying this is how we've ended this saga yeah we all had our suspicions that one of them was going to die because it had to be a sacrifice and who was going to do it and I always said Captain I do it because that's custom mentality that's how we would think would for it to be Tony was such a one a.d.y I never saw a comment I remember being in the cinema and just looking at Carolyn didn't they are you going they're not doing this they are not and then I was like oh my god and who Carolyn when we go to the cinema and watch these type of films and because I can't react the way I want to by screaming hollering shouting a grime Carolyn gets a good punch in my leg that's how literally I remember when when he was off the wall and and I could say he's coming and I'm like oh my god Carolyn he's going to go giant he's going to go giant but I'm not going to watch that right in the leg but there's so many good elements like and again the heartbreak and bet is like the habitat in Tony it's okay he saves he's done his job and also like say I said to Morgan that will call back as well from the original liquid and say the hog I love you 3000 and she just wants to jeez burger and she just wants to get that's the other call back and have you been like you know he done like cheeseburgers and okay I'll get you that jeez burger another call back where you had a good kid from Iron Man 3 being an e-fear on I thought that was brilliant and seeing them all these fear off just break me and also make it sure that wonder and clean with that conversation they had the vision and whittle because of my god we lose back we're doing this movie there's so many there's so much going on that I wanted to talk about the last part because that was the bit that that cemented how I felt and it was and you know what it was when it was over I felt grief like I felt like I was going through a loss because we have no idea what was happening with the MCU after this yeah this was this was 10 years of moving me again that we didn't we don't we don't know if we're gonna get that again we don't know how that's gonna be and I felt lost at the time I was like oh what do I know yeah we're getting some interest in TX now from since then which has been absolutely brilliant to see and I said I know we weren't really going to discuss it too much because we'll continue the films with the born into the TV world and changing the landscape they will have the Amirs in one division the or cute when I found them when they started but again it served a purpose to get I feel they could have done an hour special for that yeah and just to just to get your way you need it to be what I get I get what they were trying to do I really do it just didn't it didn't land especially coming off the back of the camp I mean me as in one division was and then you've got logie which is the blockchain game changer it's the gym so now we're at least on where we're going to go on again I'm excited to see all the different elements and all we had Black Widow which just felt like a bit of an afterthought which we've already discussed I've seen Shang-Chi so that's given me more elements to see where that's going to go which I'm going to show up about now because no one was playing this is
