So hey everyone and welcome to the Nerdy of North podcast, the Nerdy podcast posted by two northern nerds and one of your horse Sam. And I'm the other pole. How you doing? I'm good.
I'm good. I'm good. I'm a bit but not too bad. I'm distressed.
I've been decorating. I hate paint. I've still got a glass and a gold yet. So this is a welcome break.
A little bit of destruction. A little bit. So this one we think is going to be a bit of a lengthy one because we've got a big discussion on our top five. So we're going to kick off with the news.
And the only really new is I thought of importance was the Marvel announcement yesterday. Yeah, it was a big deal. It dropped out of the blowers, marbles being doing these days. No pre warning.
The only thing I was about to talk to before that announced was the reveal of the outfit for an Esmail comel icon. When that was really, when I thought it was meant to be released, I thought it was like some kind of raffty photographs would be out for the books and so I'm quite excited for that. Really excited to come out is incredibly special too. I just got followed up from like day one when I when the first issue came out and I've like often tried to like catch up with her in the new Avengers and I just love that she's she's just one of us and she's a goofy teen who just who's just trying to figure it out.
Just love that. Just love that. Yes. So Marvel hit us all by surprise.
I was painting yesterday and literally get on me for one and just hundreds of notifications that they released a very lovely video and it wasn't even a voice. I had a bit of a quiver, but I was just trying to make sure I was like taking it in and seeing what it was and it was the first 10 years of Marvel. And then the next three years of Marvel and boy is it exciting like Marvel was like, you know what, you've had a really shit 2020. We're going to give you the best 2021 we possibly can and have a list of yes I'm going to run through just 2021 first.
So first of all we've got Black Widow on July. We will have Black Widow. As well just got started. I think it was only a week or two weeks ago where the official release was meant to be a year ago to the day when Black Widow was many.
So that's how long it will have been waiting as well. We've been waiting some time. But the second after that is a Shang. Which is September 3 2021.
I'm very much looking forward to that. But I can very much see it being the typical Marvel origin story. Okay, so I thoroughly enjoy how they do an origin story and next one was the, now I didn't say it's the eternals. It just said, eternals November 5 2021.
And we saw the first clip of the eternals as well, which was not what I was expecting as well that not what I thought it would look like as well. So that's like. And I'm people have some mixed opinions on it, but anything you put her in, she just looks fantastic. And who's playing because I don't really know the eternals very well.
I don't particularly want to jump into something. I just want to go. I want to go on the film with normal. Exactly.
And if that's not enough, if the three films I've already mentioned was not enough, Marvel has given you Spider-Man no way from home on December 17th 2021. It was meant to come November as well. I think it's been called back on months. Well, because the turnals were meant to be out there.
Everything that's on that list was meant to be out last year. So probably most likely, but yes, that is for count of not that's very sound count of four. Mumble films. Look at that.
Don't worry guys. That is not included. The two series that you've already had. And the one that's on its way.
Which is lovely coming out in June. June. So we're moving into 2022 and kicking it off with Dr. Strange and the lovely guys of madness on March 25 2022 cannot wait.
I think that's going to be like, I know it's Dr. Strange, but I think it's going to be like a Spider-Man as well. So, yeah, so I think them two will be into it. So them two will be quite.
Yeah, I think whatever happens in Spider-Man with their version of the multi-versus is going to mix into any not really having that wish time to wait either. Yes. And then we're going into Thor, Love and Thunder, which is on V6 2022. Which I'm going to go into, but again, it's going to be a complete hot mess with the amount of things that's going to be going on.
Or it'll be like Ragnarok and just blow your head away. Yeah, I think Ragnarok was a massive surprise for Marvel fans. But yes, can't wait for that one. And then we go into the Marvels November 11, 2022.
That was a big surprise. Huge. And I don't really know what it means. But someone who was a couple of Marvels, like huge couple of Marvel fans.
I didn't quite, I didn't quite get what it meant. Are we getting the Marvels before Miss Marvel TV show or is a TV show kind of afterwards? Because it could be the origin story or it could be her joining a double carol depends on what happens very. It could be.
I mean, she gets any and from, but she's given any and from Carol. So the case of she takes it. She's actually given it to a by Carol, because she's essentially Kamala Khan is a, she's a nerd. And she writes fan fiction for the Avengers and Carol Danvers is her favorite Avengers.
So she's she's honored to be given the name by Carol. And I'm looking forward, obviously as a Carol Danvers fan, kind of just did not know what to say from yesterday. I was like, okay, I like the logo as well because of Lisa Logan. That was quite not different, but in a way that I don't think Marvel's done before.
Was I like, you know, both of them at the same time. Yeah, it looked fun. And then we've got, I think this, I think this title is so cool. And then the was quite a million.
That's going on February 17th, 2023. So you're only getting to Marvel film, no, three Marvel films, you said we're going back to normal again. And but yeah, February 17th, 2023 is and then the was quite a million. Which will have kind of the converse about guy in which is very exciting.
Awesome beans. And then we've got the one that I'm dreading the most. And because I just don't know what it means going forward and what that doesn't actually go into having with Black Panther. We're kind of forever July 8th, 2023.
And it's going to be a sad one like regardless. I just, I don't know how they're going to do it. Yeah, I think it's going to be a celebration type thing. I know there was rumors years ago, but not years ago.
The next one was going to be involved in Neymar and I guess it was the rumored title was supposed to be the two Kings or something like that. So with an unfortunate passing, the problem had to change it around. But the same rooms came about that. Kill longer is going to be coming back to help with the last switch.
I'm excited for it. But I think it would be a celebration, but also kind of a sad. Yeah, I actually I very much just ran Google who's doing the who did the best by panther and who's going to be doing this one. I think he'll do it.
He'll do it just as in a lot of the fact that Marvel and not recast him. I don't know what that's going to be a forever thing because you know, he is quite essential to Marvel, but for now, I think it was the best, the best thing that they could do it to honor him was to retire the character for now. Having Shuri is fantastic. I would look.
I think she's well deserved of the title of it. He'll longer be in it at this point. I really enjoyed character. I don't care how I think someone said this on the chat as well.
I don't care how they bring him back. Just doing it because he was fantastic. I liked him. It's a model in the bad guys though as well.
All of them kind of have the thing where you think it kind of makes sense why they don't do it in the wrong way. You're right. It's no different than Charles and Xavier. Like we talked last week, the mother and mother of Mexican connection.
It's the same thing, but just doing it completely different in different ways. And in a way he was right in a way. We kind of needed to punch out and help. They just couldn't keep everything to themselves like they had done.
He just went around in a really odd way. And it ended off with the end of the list with the dates on it. It was Guardians of the Galaxy, the Galaxy Volume 3, which is May 5th, 2023. I can't wait for this.
I can't wait. A lot sooner than I was expecting, especially with the whole who hard with James going. I'm doing stuff a day. So you know, I thought we'd win a few more years of that.
But I'm a bit more excited now. So yes, hopefully to do an update. I know I said, I think I'm going to podcast one of the other episodes of Mark Hamill supposed to be ended up playing an article. I actually saw an article, Roast Up Mark Hamill was going to be in the Christmas special that they're doing as well.
So I'm building a book that we're going to get Mark Hamill in the Marvel Universe. By the way, it happens. I don't care. But the last one that didn't have a date just had a promotional picture of it was a fantastic four.
I swear to God, if they do not announce that John Coginski is going to be playing Ray Richard, I will go to Los Angeles and burn the place down. Do you think that with a fantastic four not getting deals? I'll do this one and put it somewhere within the other day. The movie releases are just going to be afterwards because I would be I would just be like Marvel to the sort.
Do you want to find out before six months now? It is fantastic. Yeah. I really do.
I am holding out all the John Coginski is playing Ray Richard's. I've been wanting that from from day one. When the set that the fantastic four was coming in, I will be elated if Emily Blunt is playing so strong because I actually thought she would have been a very good carol down this as well. And so I would be elated if it was actually them too.
And especially they and all of us have been doing life and they have a chemistry and they are just like the perfect couple. They just lovely to look at. And but in quiet place. Yes.
Really well together. I'd like to say with them being married, they should have that chemistry but I think if the cast anything, the problem they've got now with Marvel, if they don't cast that, it would go wrong. Because they couldn't take it back. Yeah.
Even if the kind of who had some bad, fantastic four movies and some people of them are not for me. Never watched them. Never seen them. It could make a bad, fantastic four million people to get the custom right.
Yeah. And then played into more. I think the big one that Marvel will struggle with is not read or so it's going to be then. Yeah.
It's always going to be then. It's always if it regardless who has a hold of it, it's always going to be then that caused the problems and but begin in Marvel interest. And if you believe it, if anyone can do it. It's Kevin Feige.
I think he's visionary for what he's already created. But the call. Yes, it can be done. It's just going to be done.
It's I think I think that can pull it off and it just don't. Do we need a scene origin story or do we need to know how it happened? Can it not just be like Spider-Man when Spider-Man came and them to you? We didn't need the Uncle Ben situation again.
We already was already Spider-Man, can it not be the same for the Fantastic Four? True. I think for this for the smart because if they don't actually and they've got excellent where the Benham why they haven't been involved. Yes.
That's what because that's what the models because what was fine man, they didn't need that because he's on board. He's learning these hours and we know that but with the fantastic four every is a still any questions like right you've got this fantastic team where the fuck have you been. Fantastic four. Yeah, the fantastic four.
Yeah, sorry. Fantastic four. Yeah, sorry. Yeah, I think that got give us an origin story.
I think now with any new super here with a bringing origin story from also now. Yeah, that's true because I got very in-depth conversation with our friend and the yesterday about it. You're not just catering to the nerds anymore. You cater to the outside.
People who don't have not read the comics or read upon these things are just watching it as a general viewer. That's who else you catering for. So yeah, you probably write an origin story. I was just holding out all because I don't really know about it.
True. But they did quite simply but that's why I thought about it in like say one division also like not part of actual fantastic four. Oh, the amount of times I think just to show all the same people who are in space. Yeah.
Blasted with galleries and now the race magic scene. That would work just as well as going back and saying all these things. The amount of times during one division I was like three. The physics, the physics, the three, three, three, three, three.
Shorten, sorry short mention again. The matter of duty give me a big mention of read visions. Honestly thought it was going to be read and I didn't happen and it was was it a wasted opportunity? I don't know because I still hold out that we didn't need anyone to come into one division to help out the storyline.
The story was about wonder. Yes. That was it. And it was I understand and wonder is great when we get into where we were going to be heading into with the multiverse.
So I don't know if it was needed but I would have thoroughly enjoyed seeing them on screen. But if it wasn't John Krasinski then I would have gone to chat the other window. So when you look at that now there's not many actors that you can see. Rain Richards.
So there's been a couple of names that are all about the not John Krasinski's name but Glenn I think you say a name but from always sunny. Dennis. All right. I'll say the names of always sunny Krasinski and the fantastic four as well and Danny really open Ben Grimm.
That's not me. I would pay serious money for that just to happen. I really would really pay good money for that. The cast seemed really good.
So the main other Halloween special whether I'll dress up is a one episode. It would be quite ended in. You know. Like I said that was a big surprise.
And that was a big surprise. And that's not what I'd asked. So the way where I wasn't like everything individually it was kind of like without 10 years video and here's Stan's voice in the family. So I'm getting emotional now just think about it.
It was done such a surprise. And I think I think a few of you have posted another Facebook page the video and you're like no, what's this artist another commercial video for potentially black widow because I know there's been a few times around which one you're watching. You're like, oh shit. Especially with the channels.
You didn't expect it did you? No, but as well as Chiang Shui. I have again, I don't know how good this rumor is but apparently what's when I heard the name of it was in a Netflix show. The Fist Guy.
What's it called? I am. I am. I am fist.
Of course we want to be a start and brought to be an I am fist. I'm not the cast from the Netflix. It's supposed to be a new one for this one. And all this rumors like flying about big style about Daredevil now because some of the cast members from Daredevil's being forced in the halls.
Daredevil pictures on Instagram. So the rumors are flying about that Daredevil's going to be made appearance very soon. I've heard Spiderman or Doctor Strange one of them too. And I think Charlie Cox is perfect as Daredevil.
Daredevil is one of my most favorite characters. I loved him so much that I never watched a third series because I thought they were going to ruin it. I thoroughly enjoyed I am fist as a comic book character but the show was not good. Luke Cage was not good.
Jessica Jones was just in beauty. I am first season of Jessica Jones. I only liked it because of David Tennant. Apparently he's coming back.
I hope so. I think Marvel of course he's big fans of the Purple Man and the way he played it. So I've heard Shae Hulk as well. Yes.
But she has everyone short coming out. The actress who was in, oh my god what's it called, it was the one where it was all about double-dunners. Oh, I'm curious was it? No, that's Jessica Donna.
I've known the quote now. Yes, it was on the sky once and wasn't it? She's supposed to be a Jennifer Warders which until I say I'm not going to hold any judgment. I don't know if he's AJ either isn't it's so.
The thing is with Jennifer she doesn't she prefers to be she, there's no reason for her to hide who she is so and she doesn't and so they're going to have to constantly have a arena. True. That's why I thought it went with someone like Brondorow so you're saying because that happened to her already. The build yes the build but there's the applicability behind it.
She wasn't that bad in the X-ray campaign. She campaigned for Miss Mark for a couple of Marvel and I was like no more. You look yes you could look the path but your applicability could be absolutely appalling at her and you're on the mic at WWE. Your mic skills are not that great.
The rest of the world is going to run around so much better. So that's the Marvel list. I'm going to cut it there because the next part I think is going to take over the journey of our time and I'm so looking forward to this. So this is the top five Paul picked it and it's the top five, your top five on my top five TV programmes.
Yes. So that would be hard but by God it is so difficult. It is because there's that many variables that you've got to look into in the grant. Now I did set myself rules.
You took this so seriously. You took this so seriously. But they say that I think that's really sad but he's made so much to us. It doesn't end.
There's one of them. I might even cry when I go into it just because of what it means to us. So I totally get away coming from. So first of all I start myself.
Your game shows or reality TV shows. I didn't want to be a full TV show. Yeah, mine's not that either. And the other one I tried to do because one of them just read this rule and I wanted to be a complete TV six sure.
So I think that's still going because you don't know how it's going to end. I've had rights. I'm not going to include in a list. But one of them has broken that rule because I love it so much.
Okay. Okay. Well, I don't know. I don't know.
I don't know. Mine is a bit questionable. And you'll know what I mean when I say it but one's a bit questionable but the rest of them are totally done with. So do you want to go first?
Do you want me to go first? I'm going to get you to go first because I am so excited to hear what your list is. I'll go with the one that broke the rule first. It's a quite modern TV show which generates more so mine are quite old now.
The first one is broken 99. Never watched it. Really? Not going to be right up your street.
Nope. And I say it's all the time. You'll find it hilarious but I've never watched it. It's smart.
It's clever and then you think it would be because it goes through all these different topics that you don't expect. Like a sitcom or a former activity show. There's characters in it that break the molds. Like I say there's gay, bi characters, Latino, Black, Indian stuffs all involved.
It breaks down barriers but it doesn't take itself too seriously. And I can say the main character is Jay Peralba which is Andy Seinberg from the Loni family. So you know what he's out there, he's the best friend of all. He's like a lost puppy following around and their relationship during the show is hilarious.
But it's just like the relationship between the team. Like each of them have moments to shine. No one else shines each other. A cast has pretty much been solid throughout.
There's only been really one change which is Gina, she was like a receptionist. She, I've gotten her surname which her first name was Chelsea. She's an American comedian, she's really stupid. She reminds a little bit of Phoebe from Friends.
But she's not really paying attention to the world. She's in it all in the bowl. But as the show goes, the characters grow and you don't expect it from a stupid cop show. But you fall in love with the team.
Some of the characters here that start falling in love during the show as well. And I say this, Chatter the Dog which is really cute. I know it's because I've seen the animal person, you love Chatter the Dog. I've seen that many appearances.
But I think of Eddie from Frida, he hits it. But it's an interest in the last season now. It's a great stuff. And now I'm starting to make it more after the next season now.
But it was supposed to be out already the last season. But throw away the script due to what happened in the work with the Black Lives protests. Because that's what we're all going to do. And the cop stuff went right.
We can't in good knowledge to still describe what we're going to do. We've got her in corporate. What's going on now? Oh, that gives chills.
That gives chills. So basically the delay. I think by six months, it's just the last season. Again, to be honest, each season has a turning point.
So I say that being mafia has been hit some people. It's hilarious. I've watched them now about three or four times. It's just like you put on the background.
And there'll be things that you'll just pick up on that. And I say that there's certain episodes I could do a Halloween high seat here. And honestly, it's absolutely brilliant. I can't recommend it enough.
I will be putting it on the list. There's a few programs like that. It's just never something that crossed me mind. But another one that didn't quite make the list.
But I'm not going to say just in case it's on one of yours is just an example of I should learn from you lessons and just branch out because it's a program that's been going on since 2010 or something. And it's still ongoing today. And it's probably one of the funniest programs I've ever watched. And I'm not saying what it is because I'm still too in front of my number five slot that I could potentially put it in there.
And so I would give it a go. I'll definitely give it a go. I'm definitely giving it a go. Do you know my mind?
It's cool. Mine's kind of the same thing Americans are calm and it's finished with it's done. It's it caused such an outrage that they got removed from Netflix at Christmas that people actually start a cancel and Netflix subscription in America and it is the US office. Right.
Paul, it is not it is one of the only shows that I cry out at the end not only because it's finished because anyone's going to miss them and I make them like a me like it is. It's funny. I love the English office. No, not on my top list because it only brought out two series but it was it was fantastic.
And this one I put it out only what should have been years ago, quite frankly, even two years ago. And the first episode is word for word, the English one. Yeah, but something's changed. And when David Branch calls his boss and Camilla Parker balls, Michael Scott called his boss, Hillary Clinton.
So it is something that translated over differently, but for the main part it is worth the word, the same script. And by the second episode, you think that's what you're in for. And it's just going to be the same as it's just going to be worked like done differently to fit in American television and it's not. And as time goes on, you know, you don't realize you're watching by on the wall documentary.
It's just a TV show and the characters in it are you just you find a connection with one of them and you follow you follow their story like if they come and Jim. And I can't think of any of them even listen to our podcast as well. I can't think of any of them, but Pam and Jim story from start to finish is just absolutely fantastic but the the main stand out will always be Michael Scott, who is played by Steve Carell. He is hilarious to the point of absolute annoyance.
Michael Michael is one of the worst human beings possible. There is an episode in it called Scott's Tots. And if any office fan knows they know how bad Scott's Tots is to the point where I can't physically watch anymore. Michael gets it in his head that he'll be a millionaire by the time he's in his qualities.
So he guarantees these children. And if you graduate high school I'll piff your college. And then he has to go and confront these kids to tell them that he doesn't he hasn't actually become a millionaire. And it is the level of cringe in it.
It's horrible. Michael is one of the worst human beings, but he always manages to have it. He always manages to have some little redeeming quality about him. And he's exit of the show was just a ball me eyes out every time it's on for the office.
The US one is one of my if not one of my favorite programs of all time. I get that upset that the end comes up to stick around again and do it all over again. I've watched it. And nowhere like a hundred times during lockdown.
Love it. Love it. I do recommend it. You would be very funny.
I tried watching it a few times, but I think, as you said with the first couple episodes, it's quite like the UK office is different and that's the partner found it hard to get past. So again, I might try again to get back again. We get to be a big division. We're very heavily involved with the first series to the point where they said, if you can get the foundation down, then you can go up and do it yourself.
And the guy who helps the Mindy Kaelin and guy who plays Torby and Ryan Oh my God, I can't think of people's names. They're all writers in the show, but they're all part of the cast as well. The writers and the cast of basically one of the same, but the most who plays and God, I say Michael's one of your favorite characters. You've got the Brit, Rain Wilson, who plays Dwight Church, who is just perfect.
He's just he's so funny and weird and he's a nerd and he's a beat farmer and I just love him. But his cousin is played by him. His cousin Moore is played by a guy who actually not only brought past the show, but he also created Parks and Rec. Right.
And brought past the Rec. The guy is a genius. And he's so good at doing characters who you can quite easily follow along with. And you can quite gradually fall in love with them.
And he writes them just beautifully. And he's done the same with the office and Parks and Rec. But out of the tomb, the office for me will always be superior. That's the thing that I love doing things like this, having this type of social, even if it's not actually a total discussion, trying to down, because you find out so many different things that you might not experience like other people, like say that that's the thing that's the thing that's the thing that's the thing that always engages and actually wants to bring in that type of conversation.
Sorry. Just trying to spread things that people might not have experienced before. I love programs that I'm a very character driven person. So, and I love people.
So I like finding a person in a television show and just following their story, like American Horror Story Hotel. It's not everyone's favourite. But if you like me, I followed one person's story throughout that and it was a little bit tailored. And just follow that story.
And it was just beautiful at the same time. And it was that's all I am a proper people person. I was actually taught in your wife last night through Facebook and because she's watching this is England. They mean to watch it.
And I actually watched the trailer for it. And then I was watching a little clip. It's online. I was like, I think this is taught.
I love anything British. And I think it's totally up my street because I think it's characters who you can drop it, get in with and follow them on a journey that may not be. I've got a feeling that I might not be able to relate to a lot of it, but still find it in D. Run and have to stick with it.
So that is only list to watch. Go. Go. Yes.
So again, I'll go with, I'll go with this one next. It's another American one. Again, it's not the best to I'm not. But I invested 15 years of me like fortune this show.
Supernatural. Yeah. It's like 15 seasons. Some of them will go awful and absolutely painful to watch.
But the characters in it, for example, main, I said, maybe wife Nick absolutely adore the characters. And we're going to say the show made a lot of mistakes. If you watch it. The start off absolutely brilliant with the whole urban legend, if you're a horror fan, it's brilliant because it basically does every single horror film you can think of.
But sometimes it is cheesy, but they know when they are being cheesy and the characters are done and dained. The lovable, I think when it got released in the UK, the first time around, they've done the market in all wrong for it because the whole billboards and shit was going out in scary as now sexy. And the show is. The show is not about that at all.
It's an exit. The show is about the relationship between San and Dean, two brothers and how different they are, how similar they are. There's some characters that come in. Some characters that you miss.
Some characters you think are just a place for off. But I put characters like Charlie, who's this nearly redhead who absolutely adored and fell in love with about a million times. She was like your little sister. You wanted to look after.
It was a sweet angel dude, but that was, I'd say, when the show started going off the rails a bit, when it started going to many episodes about good and evil, being God and devil and stuff. Yeah, it's not on my list for one reason, because I've not finished it. I mean, and watched it. I want to say about from around 2013, we started it.
I think I think watched it before me, but then we started from the beginning. And up until season 10, that was not a season that I did absolutely love your right. I think Charlie, I'm going to go through that series and I have to be a top Charlie. And there is a real community.
I've shortly been in as well. What was it a guilt? like you can't do that because of the spotlight. Actually, I've got to do a second.
Whoop. Got the first idea of who. Oh, the phone. I've dropped my headphone.
So I actually have her book. And you're never weird on the internet, almost by Alicia. Alicia, do you? Yeah.
If you want to really live your childhood, pick up her book because it is absolutely fantastic. She is no different than any boy who grew up in the 80s and the 90s. Only different situations from school. So she got away with a lot more.
But it is such a good read. But I never finished Supernatural. It wasn't the whole good versus evil that got us. It was one series, Sam is going to die.
One series, Dean is going to die. Who's going to die to series? Don't know, because he was going back and forth. And with a lot of his comeback, and it was just getting so repetitive.
I will eventually finish it because I did. I invested so much time with these two. And when the last series, when the last sort of series come on, I would start crying when Kansas was played. Because of the song is all about Dean.
It was always all about Dean. And I just thought out of the two of them, he was the most special because he was the most invested. He was the one who started it all. If it wasn't for Dean, you wouldn't have Sam involved in it.
And it was all about that. It was all about going to find their dad. And if you were a fan of the X-Files, you were a fan of this because they always did a monster of the week, which is what the X-Files used to do. Well, we're about to say, I mean, it's actually watching it again.
Because I say, we say the certain things we look way off the trick step, so it's as well when the whole long period was even at the comp. And it starts messing with them. We've just got through the bit where we're coming through all the different TV shows where you get to get to about Dean and Sam's getting hit in the contract. Yes.
Game show and stuff like that. It's the silly ones all when Dean gets infected by the scary virus and becomes terrified of everything. It's just like a girl, yes. And that's the one at the end where he's caught in the car saying I was a tiger, which is one of the best outtakes.
It's so good. It is so good. I know you haven't watched it. I haven't watched it yet.
It seems in 10 is where we kind of lost it all. Because a lot of people didn't like that. And I personally did. I thought the end of the AdSense.
The only thing that's faulted a little bit was because of the whole pandemic that I had been... Not that they did it all, but they just couldn't get the people in that needed to be in AdSense. Yeah, it does. But then, you know, I would say the whole...
What you said, it's hard to get bothered when people die in the show. Then, you know, the next season they're going to come back. Because it's what people did. There was no way behind it.
Yeah, there was no way behind it. Only one that did have a massive impact on us. And maybe they had turned off for a few days because we were so bummed out by it was the death of Bobby. Like that was so sad.
And Bobby's did hold way behind it because guess what? Didn't come back the next episode. And yes, we did see Bobby a few times. But it was never in a way that Bobby was actually going to come back into physical form, not like what they did.
So he did hold a lot of weight. Yes, but I see it. Because there's certain characters that came in with this bit past that grew like Crowley. And then...
Look, Mark Shepherd is such a good actor. And he's in the X-Files. He's in a really good X-Files. His mum comes in.
I don't know if he says when his mum comes in. With a red head. Yes. Can't think about his name as Ruth.
No, is that the actress or is that her? I might be the actress, but I'd say we go to her as well. But again, it's one of the things about the show. I think a lot of stuff, it's not becoming like...
Who's good, who's bad, and flipping the sides. But I think I read originally that was meant to actually finish after season six. That's where the writers had the all from season one to season six mapped out, which originally for the show. And that's when it was going to be the logical ending, when Chuck winks up a camera to see it when he says, oh, I can't say he's good.
That was when the show was meant to fizz at the end. But when the fan be a screw, the network went eight more. And I think I read on for fucking 15 seasons. That's absolutely huge, wasn't it?
Again, it's not only this because I didn't finish it. And it's not... It's a hard one just to jump back into when you've seen it before. And that sounds ridiculous coming from me because I can watch things 100 times over.
And every single one of mine, this is something that I can revisit. But that one is just a tough one to watch and it's a tough one to get back into. Especially when you invested so much time to start with. And just to be constantly given the same thing over and over again, it gets a bit draining.
But I do want to finish it. I'm sick of having lists on like Prime or Netflix, right? I just haven't finished the series. So I will get that out to finish this.
Are you ready for my second? Number two. Oh, it's not an odd one. I only watched it a few years ago, thanks to football.
Because I didn't want to watch football, so I thought, you know what, I'm going to go on one stick this on. And it's damp and heavy. Right, OK. It is...
I absolutely adore it. I never thought I would. I'm not really in the periodic pieces. But it's absolutely fantastic.
Again, it is character driven. You can attach yourself to these people and just follow them. It's another show that once I'm finished, I'll go back to the first episode and watch it all over again quite happily. I'm going to go out this Christmas as well.
I cannot wait. I'm very apprehensive over it. Because when I want to see the film, I think the first hour I was like, Carolyn, we could have watched this on the telly. There's nothing special behind it.
And then by the time it was finished, I was like, no, that was really special. I'm glad I got to see it on the big screen. And the next one, I'm just apprehensive as to how it's going to go forward because of how the last one ended, how the film ended. And I'm not going to...
I don't know, I don't know if it's a thing to spoil, but... I suppose if you're not seeing the film. The telly... What in the wrong podcast is it going like?
I know, I know, it's true. But the Dowager, who was played by the fabulous Maggie Smith, announces that she's dying. And I think that the next film is going to be... She has confirmed to be in it.
So whether it is leading up to a death or it's the aftermath of it. And because she's a huge part of this family, and it's going to be a huge loss when she's gone. Because she is so influential on everyone. And she has such a hard goal.
And a family here, because it's based in the 1920s, we're in the 1920s now, but it started the day of the Titanic's end. The day of the news, the new tip of your kid, the Titanic's end. Because that's how it all progresses. The heir to Lord Grandflam's estate was on the Titanic.
And now they have to find his next heir, which is like a third cousin. And it's Matthew Prawley, who was just a... So this is a reason, he's just a normal person who's been brought into this grand family. And it's just...
You've got your upstairs, your downstairs, and that's... You love it. And all the clothes and the drama, it's just fantastic. It's not something I've watched.
It's been on me weird, Alex. I can't do it like a pre-imidphy. He's like, give us power, I hope he needs power, I need it. But the closest I've got, I think, was the Bob's Burgers.
It was the episode of The Pezot of it. LAUGHTER Totally forgot about that one. But it's lovely. You've got your romantic story of the upstairs, but you've also got a romantic story downstairs.
And it's just... I just love it. And it's just hard to put in the words on down now, because it isn't something that I didn't watch. I was on Telly.
It was a couple of year ago, football thing was on, and I didn't want to watch it. I thought, perfect time. And I'll stick down now, and I was... And there's bits in it, like...
I don't get scared of horror films, and I'm very, very, very shriek out loud. There was one scene in Downton that made me scream out loud, like a little girl, because it was horrifying. But it was... It just came out of nowhere.
I'm not going to tell them I'm a spider. It just came out of nowhere, and it looked like something out of a horror film, and it actually made me scream out loud. There we go. Because you're just doing it so you're coming.
It was great. But yes, Downton is a one that is very close to my heart, and I'm actually watching for the minute. LAUGHTER No, Bob. Sorry.
I'll have to move on to my next one. Yes, what's number three? Oh, again, it wasn't a long show. It was a British one.
So the British ones are not normally that long. Was it two series, baby, jazz? No, no, it wasn't two series. I think it was three.
Three seasons, I'm sure. I'm wrong. But it was either this, or I was talking with this, or the one I followed it, because I'd say I'm a big fan of Inside Number Nine, but the League of Gentlemen, and absolutely adored the show. Like, say every element, say the writing, the act of the market is...
Like, say it was involved, like... Just like the whole characters, like... It felt like a very British TV show, but like British horror at the same time, very old-style horror as well. Like, Tubes and the...
Or your logo was bathroom. Like, say, I'm trying to think of his name now, the German character in it as well. It's so portable as well, isn't it? I think they want to go to a horse that can end in this Pauline and the Pins.
I remember as well, because me and Nick went to say the Christmas stage throughout the Empire. They had done live, and it's just as well done. Like, the butcher, the possibility of the butcher as well, that honestly, that was terrifying, but obviously, and the whole trans-taxi driver as well, Barbara, just lots of different elements that make it laugh. But it's...
Because one of the things I picked, like, the show is for, is like the rewatchability. And you can watch the League of Gentlemen again and again, and pick up different things. And I know it's always got this bit of controversy as well, like, I know the recently edited of Ellen Netflix, where the cover of the Black Fierce... The Lazaroo.
Have a Lazaroo, which... Go that now, right now, there. You want some bass and bass? Absolutely horrifying.
I don't know if it's right or wrong, but... He was a scary character to start with. True. Absolutely terrifying.
It's not... I have watched it, but it's not something that I would cast as one of my favourites at all. I didn't even... I think when I've done the film, like, the film, like, it was a bit of a cash-in type situation.
Like, I said, the three of you are trending at St. Pendleton Market. It's an end-race, coming to reach the surname. But he is...
Oh, my God. He was in an episode of, what was that Peter Keating, car share? Ernie's a fishmonger in front of the supermarket, and he gets a lift off the menu. He is absolutely hilarious.
He is so funny. And the outtakes on that bit, whether in the cup when he's singing in the car, is just some of the funny... It's creepy and crippling. It's hilarious.
She has to spare... She has to spare... Steve, what's he's face? Steve Pendleton.
I'm not sure. But I see how Marky has done a lot of writing out for different shows. His writing's always on point, and it's always... He's a brilliant writer.
And he also is a huge horror fan. One of my favourite documentaries is a Margadis one about the history of horror, and it's done in three parts. It is available on YouTube if you would like to watch it. And it is going through the...
1920s horror to the 60s and 70s horror to modern day horror, and it is absolutely fantastic. He is such a fan that just the genre in general, so there's no piss-tirgun on it whatsoever. Wasn't he involved in the new Dracula doc here as well? I think so.
It was him and the guy who did Doctor Who with, and it was them too, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I kind of lost off. On the last episode, I kind of got a bit drained, but yeah, and watched it instead of it was great. But Margadis in almost his name, he just got to do it.
I was just saying this. Oh, no. It's even Muffish. It's even Muffish.
That's the one. Yeah, no. Totally went on topic with your hair. No, no.
It's so much makeup, but yeah. I was quite old. Like, traditional. I think that's the word traditional British horror elements to it, where I was like a country, I'd say, where a little country village where nobody would go like, if you're not like, people would probably go out of the local and stuff like that.
People who I rap from, roasting music, because when you come in the where alley of the designers local traffic only. Maybe like the inmates in the pubs where they get to go to parties near never, when he gets like, tells a story in the end of the day, he'll kill himself with killing his friends and stuff like that. It's quite relatable at times. And the whole nice, that as well, he's lovely, but he kills all the animals.
It's just like, it was like quite a twist. And I call creatures, we get small as well. Which is called. They did another one as well.
And it's like, oh Bill? Yes. I really enjoyed it. I think Nick was a big fan of it.
I'll say I'm out of inside number nine. I think Nick, they're an episode. Yeah, Mike, but like my parents and I think a parent's question is just a watcher. They enjoyed it.
