Netflix’s Retro Thriller Becomes a Streaming Phenomenon

The Turkish psychological thriller series Not a Stranger has quickly become a massive hit on Netflix, capturing the top spot among non-english shows with millions of views. The eight-episode program modernizes the classic 90s thriller concept of a dangerous caretaker infiltrating a family home. In the show, a stressed new mother hires a seemingly ideal nanny, only to discover that her husband previously shared a romantic history with the caregiver. Although audience reviews on platforms like IMDb have been mixed, citing issues with the performances despite the suspenseful plot, the project continues to shatter streaming records. Ultimately, this original creation highlights the enduring popularity of suspenseful domestic dramas and dominates global viewing charts. This episode includes AI-generated content.
