NETHERWORLD Celebrates 25 Seasons Of Screams

NETHERWORLD Haunted House is open nightly, and there’s no time like the present to celebrate the acclaimed attraction’s 25 Seasons of Screams! Twenty-five plus years ago, co-creators Ben Armstrong and Billy Messina set out to create a one-of-a-kind and otherworldly haunted house experience the likes of which Atlantans had never seen before. The goal was to develop an attraction that would be immensely horrifying but equally entertaining – something that would become a seasonal tradition Halloween enthusiasts would return to year after year. That extraordinary vision helped attract a team of highly talented actors, makeup artists, costumers, set builders, and animatronics experts, which helped catapult NETHERWORLD to the next level and become known as one of the most influential haunts in the world. Years later, in 2017, Armstrong and Messina planted their NETHERWORLD roots in Stone Mountain, Ga., when they purchased a 10-acre complex that now houses the massive entertainment destination that the duo has worked to grow over the last quarter-century. Two yearly haunts, a post-apocalyptic-themed laser tag arena, four epic escape room games, a monster museum and a magical Midway (a carnival-like experience with games, a foam field, food trucks offering crave-worthy snacks, roaming monsters, Instagram-worthy photo ops with props and sets, and more) can all now be found at NETHERWORLD Haunted House. Several offerings, including laser, escape and the museum, are open year-round, and the haunted houses pop up throughout the year for special occasions like Christmas and Valentine’s Day. NETHERWORLD is no longer “just a haunt” open during Halloween, but a space where adventure seekers from near and far come to play. “We knew developing a haunted house would be a colossal task to take on, but we couldn’t have imagined where we’d be today,” said Messina. “We’ve come so far.
