Nevada LaborFest Honors Champions | Las Vegas News

Over 1,000 Nevadans turned out for Congressman Steven Horsford’s fifth annual Workers & Families LaborFest, a vibrant day of music, food, and family fun honoring the unsung heroes who keep the state running. This year marked a milestone with the debut of the first-ever Labor Champion Awards, spotlighting three trailblazers—Susie Martinez, Culinary Workers Local 226, and Assemblymember Daniele Monroe-Moreno—for their tireless advocacy on workers’ rights and economic justice. Amid the celebration, Horsford addressed soaring costs in housing, healthcare, groceries, and gas, calling for bold action to ensure paychecks cover basic living expenses. The event also doubled as a voter registration push ahead of November’s election, urging Nevadans to claim their voice at the ballot box. From 11 AM to 2 PM, LaborFest reminded everyone: people come first—and the economy must serve them. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
