If you aren't failing now and then, then you're probably not trying hard enough!We live in an age where risk-taking is frowned upon. We're encouraged to play it safe, keep our heads down and just \"get by.\" But if we don't get out there and take risks, we won't grow as individuals or as a society. We need people who are willing to take chances, who are willing to fail spectacularly so that they can succeed later on down the road.I've always admired people who weren't afraid to take risks. I've often felt like a bit of a coward in that respect, someone who kept their head down and just went about the business of making my way through life. But now I am encouraged to go out there and make mistakes—make lots of them!—so that when I do succeed, it will be all the sweeter. Failure is not something to be ashamed of; rather, it should be celebrated as an important step on the road to success.Many great inventions and discoveries have come from what were originally perceived as failures; it's only through trial and error that we can hope to achieve greatness.I remember one of my jobs in college. I was working as a sales associate at a clothing store. I was so excited to be doing something different and not working in the food industry anymore.
