Never Been Sicker #34 - Connecting the Dots, Interview with Eve Elenhorn

from Never Been Sicker

Send us Fan MailToday’s guest is Eve Elenhorn, Integrative Health Practitioner, Personal Trainer, mold survivor, awareness advocate, and expectant mother. Eve’s discovery of mold began after experiencing a devastating miscarriage that spurred her to look deeper into why she continued to experience chronic health issues. From Hashimoto’s and the Epstein-Barr Virus to a long list of gastrointestinal and thyroid issues, she believed that something else must be playing a role in her body; she just had to figure out a method for connecting the dots. Her search for answers introduced her to the world of functional medicine. Teaming up with a functional medicine doctor and a naturopath, they ran extensive testing and determined that her problem was mold. From there, she began the long battle of learning more about this indoor contaminant, figuring out how to get rid of it from her home, dealing with the pushback on whether or not indoor mold growth is a problem, and the million and one other difficulties that often surround this event. Still, Eve never gave up. She’s now well on her way to healing and is expecting a child in the next few months. Using her experience, she’s now dedicated to helping others find the root cause of their health issues and bringing more awareness to the harmful effects of mold exposure. Today’s Talk:In this episode, Michael Rubino sits down with Eve Elenhorn to discuss her harrowing battle with mold exposure. Her journey highlights how important it is to dive deep into finding the root cause of symptoms instead of taking a pill to solve the problem, the far-reaching health damage that mold exposure can cause, and the importance of trusting your instincts. Throughout her life, Eve dealt with a list of health issues and met with an even longer list of doctors in an attempt to handle the onslaught of symptoms. It wasn’t until she experienced a devasting miscarriage that she began connecting the dots and attempting to figure out if an underlying root cause must be at play. Her push for answers is what led her to discover an alternative health route: functional and integrative medicine. After visiting with a functional medicine doctor and a naturopath who ran a long series of tests, they discovered mold and mycotoxins all throughout her body. The discovery of these toxins is what sparked her deep dive into understanding more about this indoor contaminant and how it can impact health. As it turns out, Eve had been living in mold, which led to the toxic buildup within her body. While she now had the answers she needed, she began her healing journey while living in a toxic environment and began working to convince her husband and family to get on board with understanding the impact mold can have on health and the importance of creating a safe indoor space. After finding the mold in the home and becoming pregnant, they moved out of the house so that it could be remediated, and she’s now living in an apartment and working on ensuring her body is healthy and in balance. "I don't like to look at things as a burden. I hear other people say all the time that they're exhausted from trying to fix things and things not working. And I'm like, that’s not the right mindset to have. I look at it as my baby's coming. It's gonna be a fresh start. I'm gonna have a new house. They say in the Jewish tradition that when babies come, they give you a blessing. So I kind of look at it from that perspective, that this is all a blessing that I can start my life over."https://www.themichaelrubino.com/https://www.homecleanse.com/
