Nevertheless, Has Two Sides
from The Spark · host Sandra Carroll
What happens when what you "see" starts challenging what God "said"? While studying Deuteronomy 1, I noticed something about the children of Israel that made me stop: they had a, nevertheless. God told them the land was good. He told them He had given it to them. He told them to go and possess it. Nevertheless… there were giants. And suddenly, what they saw became greater in their minds than what God had spoken. But what if they had simply moved their nevertheless? There are giants… nevertheless, God said the land is ours. In this week's episode of The Spark, we're talking about how nevertheless has two sides—and depending on where you place it, it can become the language of either your fear or your faith. We'll also talk about how fear can operate like a shadow. A shadow can appear larger than the actual object, but here's the thing: you cannot have a shadow without light. The presence of the shadow doesn't mean the Light has disappeared. Sometimes we need to remember the victories God has given us. But sometimes we also need to remember the places where we allowed fear to lead us before—not to condemn ourselves, but so we can choose differently when we're standing in front of another giant. Maybe the situation is real. Maybe the loss is real. Maybe the uncertainty is real. Maybe you don't understand God's method. Nevertheless, I believe God. 🎧 Join me for this week's Spark as we learn to move our nevertheless to the other side. Same giant. Same shadow. Different authority. Because loves, we journey better together.
