New Coaches, Young Dolphins Face Raiders | Las Vegas News

New coaches, new hope, and a brutal reality check: The Miami Dolphins and Las Vegas Raiders clash Sunday in a season opener that could define their futures. Jeff Hafley, making his NFL head coaching debut after a stellar stint with Green Bay’s defense, leads a young, rookie-heavy Dolphins squad hungry for redemption. Meanwhile, the Raiders turn to an untested head coach — a former Super Bowl-winning offensive coordinator — as they enter their fourth coaching change in four seasons. Both teams are winless in the postseason since 2002 and 2000 respectively, and have combined for just 14 wins over the past two years. With Miami’s youthful roster (13 rookies, 5 starters) having beaten the Raiders 4 of the last 5 times, this game is primed for fireworks — especially with Vegas favored by 3.5 points.
