New Family, New Rules

Have you ever gotten into it with someone you love? Maybe it was with a spouse, best friend, or your parents. Fights happen for a reason, right? You're looking to win the argument.Let's suppose we've all been there... have you ever later wondered, "Was that even worth it?" And what's more, if you fought to win, that person you love (and argued with) must be a loser. Ouch!Too often, Christians are known more for what we stand against; fighting to "win." With that we leave a trail of losers in our wake. It's not as often that the Church is known for what we do stand for.This weekend, Bill Brown will be teaching from 1 Corinthians 6 as we continue in our series "Living Free in a Stuck World." In part, he'll be leading us to ponder the question of being radically different—something compelling, hopeful, and attractive. I'm excited because after taking with Bill, I think it'll be a good exercise to explore how the early church captured the attention of their city and culture, not by winning arguments, but through surprising compassion, generosity, and service.
