But with advances in screening for lung cancer in recent years, along with new screening guidelines, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force is hoping to change these statistics. In fact, the new guidelines nearly double the number of people eligible for lung cancer screening with low-dose computed tomography (CT) scans.
