New Hampshire Weather: 02-22-2026

from The New Hampshire Weather Podcast

Good afternoon! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the New Hampshire Weather Podcast. It's Sunday, February 22nd. And folks, a serious nor'easter is bearing down on us tonight. Right now you're stepping outside to 27 degrees and fog. Enjoy the calm. It won't last. Snow rolls into southern New Hampshire around 11 tonight. By 3 A.M. Monday, this thing turns nasty. We're talking near whiteout conditions through Monday morning, especially along the coast. Down in Manchester, Nashua. And Portsmouth, you're looking at 8 to 12 inches of snow by Monday night. Wind gusts hit 40 miles an hour. The National Weather Service has a Blizzard Warning on Coastal Rockingham County. That's not a drill. Lows tonight drop to 21 degrees, highs Monday barely touch 29. Drive north toward Concord and the Lakes Region. You'll see 6 to 10 inches with gusts to 35 miles an hour. Visibility gets ugly Monday morning. Snow starts after 11 tonight and doesn't quit until Monday evening. The White Mountains catch the lighter end. Snow holds off until around 2 A.M.. And you're seeing 4 to 8 inches total. Still enough to make the roads treacherous. Now the coast has a second problem. Monday afternoon's high tide brings 15 to 20 foot waves offshore. A Coastal Flood Watch is up for Rockingham County. Beach erosion, road closures south of Portsmouth, the works. Stay away from shoreline roads Monday afternoon. Here's the bottom line. If you don't need to drive Monday morning, don't. Charge your devices tonight. Fill a thermos. Have flashlights ready because power outages are possible along the coast. Looking past the storm, Tuesday brings sunshine and upper 20s. Wednesday sneaks in another inch or two of snow. Then temperatures climb. Thursday pushes into the low 40s. By Saturday you could see the mid 40s. But first, we survive Monday. I'll be tracking this storm all night. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!
