New Hampshire Weather March 4 Evening - 21° Above Normal

from The New Hampshire Weather Podcast

Good evening. New Hampshire. I'm DJ Huzz. That inch and a half of snow that fell overnight? Already becoming a memory. The storm exits before dawn. And by the time you're listening, those clouds are breaking up. We go from 26 degrees right now to. 51 degrees this afternoon. That's about 21 degrees above normal for early March. And it happens fast. Temperatures climb through the 40s by late morning. In the next 24 hours. Statewide sunshine today. Southern New Hampshire. Central New Hampshire. And the White Mountains all top out at 51 degrees. Not much wind, so that mild air actually feels mild. Perfect day to clear off the driveway or take a walk at lunch. Tonight takes a step back. Clear skies and calm winds let the heat escape. Lows drop to 22 degrees south, 21 degrees central. And 23 degrees up in the mountains. That full moon tonight will be shining through partly cloudy skies. Thursday starts fine with partly sunny skies. But a backdoor cold front slips down from the north. Highs hold near 45 degrees south, 46 degrees central. And only 40 degrees in the mountains. By Thursday night, the next system arrives. Here's where it gets messy. Thursday night into Friday brings snow, sleet. And freezing rain statewide. One to two inches of snow possible, with a wintry mix especially across southern and central areas. Friday stays gloomy with highs near 37 degrees. The weekend turns the corner. Saturday reaches 55 degrees. Sunday hits 54 with mostly sunny skies. And early next week? We're talking upper 50s to near 60 degrees by Tuesday. So enjoy today's sunshine. Because Thursday night brings our next round of winter weather. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
