New HRT research; HRT may be good; Positive impact of HRT on wrinkles; The Freshman 15; and Link between weight and suicide

from healthylivingradio's Podcast

We discuss the Journal of Women's Health (Vol 15, Number 1; 2006) article on hormone replacement therapy (HRT). The findings suggest HRT may be good again, at least if used correctly. We also discuss how HRT may play a role in preventing wrinkles. The Center for Science in the Public Interest has released new findings highlighting how many of the nation's leading hospitals serve foods that are laden in trans fats, especially french fries. We'll discuss the findings and talk about some facilities that have worked to limit trans fats in their recipes. Is there really such a thing as the "freshman 15?? We'll talk about the results of a study to be published in the Journal of American College Health this spring. And, is there any link between weight and the risk of suicide? At least in Sweden, the answer appears to be yes.
