My goodness, what are we going to talk about? How about the fact that I had absolutely no sleep last night? I could not get to sleep to save my soul. Last night I tried every trick in the book, nothing worked.
Finally, at 7 o'clock this morning, I had to, well, at about 4 o'clock in the morning, I had a terrible headache. I got up, I took two Excedrin, and then I ate something because I think I had half of a bagel because I can't take Excedrin without eating something. And finally at 7 a.m. I went in and tried to lay down again, and I slept for maybe 35, 40 minutes.
So what do I have to be grateful about today? We'll talk about it. How are you doing? Welcome to The Daily Grateful.
My name is Michael Gross, and I am so grateful that I get to go to sleep sometime. I've had a board meeting in about an hour that I have to go to. So I've got to get this thing recorded, stick it on the interwebs, get myself organized, and go to my board meeting. It's a busy week, and I'm not sleeping.
That's bad. But, but, I did. Something neat happened. Talking with my daughter, talking with my favorite ex-wife, talking with a couple of other people.
I've talked to you about wanting to do a Saturday podcast, which is not going to be like a daily podcast like The Daily Grateful, but would instead be a video podcast where I interview people. And then, you know, what kind of show are you going to do? You know, that was a question I asked myself. What kind of show am I going to do?
And finally, it came to me when I was asked a question about a TikTok star, and I started talking about this TikTok star. And I said, I wonder about this, and I didn't get talking. I wonder about that TikTok star. I wonder about that TikTok star.
Wouldn't it be cool to do a weekly video podcast? It would be on YouTube. It would be here where you're listening to this at, on audio, and where I interviewed a TikToker, a different TikToker, every week, and talked about their experiences on TikTok, what it's done for their life, what it's done for their family, what they love about it, what they hate about it, and, you know, get a backstory. I think that'd be fascinating.
So golly, gee, willikers, that's what I'm going to do. But, that's going to take some preparation. Number one, I've got to book these people. Wow.
Okay, at a time when they're available, and, you know, number two, probably more important than number one, or equally, I've got to get the studio totally set up. Now, I've got fabulous lighting in here. I've got a really good camera that has to be wired into my system. Okay, I need all of that wired in and everything, and then I will be ready to go.
Now, wiring that into my system is going to be easy for some people. For me, not so much. It used to be, you know, my former producer, Scotty, who is no longer alive. I could have given this assignment to him.
He could have it done in about two minutes. Or the former chief engineer of the radio network I work for, a guy by the name of Blinky. I don't know what his real name was. He came in here, there was wires and gadgets and all kinds of stuff, and he says, oh, I've got to go to Radio Shack.
Oh, yeah. He went to Radio Shack, bought a whole bunch of wires and everything. I missed Radio Shack. Came back here, wired everything together.
You know, and then my other friend, Jay Harrison, who I worked in radio with, he was one of my board operators and producer, and then later my boss, when he was the boss of a radio network, the Accent Radio Network. You could give that guy a paperclip, a razor blade, a 9-volt battery, and a little speaker, and he could build a radio network out of it. I mean, the guy was just, he still is, an absolute genius. So I might, you know, he lives 220 miles away.
I need somebody who can come over here and who knows what they're doing, and I have access to people like that. I just have to remember who they are and then sleep talk them into coming over and doing it. That'll be fun. But we'll get that done.
We'll get that done, you know, on a Saturday. We'll get that done. That'll be easy. And then I will do a weekly, and I've got to come up with a name for the podcast.
That's really difficult, coming up for a name, because I can't call it the TikTok podcast, because TikTok would be, like, really mad at me. And they'd probably send a trove full of Chinese lawyers. And I'm terrified of lawyers, period. And so it has to come up with a snazzy name to where people know what it is.
And if they hear the name, they go, yeah, that's going to be a guy that interviews podcasts or TikTok stars. Yeah, that's what I say. So I've got to come up with a name that encapsulates that. Then I've got to buy the domain name.
I can do all of that stuff. All of that I can do. And that's what we're going to do. And that's just going to be fun.
So stay tuned for that. I'm grateful for that. You ever have these wonderful ideas that just come up to you? There is a woman, and I read her book, and she says, five-second rule.
When you come up with a great idea, you have five seconds to take some kind of physical action to get that going. So I came up with that idea while I was actually in my ex-wife's car. And I said, I have five seconds to figure this whole thing out. And I took my phone out, and I wrote in myself a note of what I needed to do once I got home.
And as soon as I walked in the house and unloaded some groceries and stuff, I immediately came in here and started working on it. And I said, oh, got to do a podcast. Oh, got a board meeting. Oh, got a bunch of stuff.
But I'm going to work on this some more. So, you know, it is fun to have these things. I'm going to work on this. I have to research and see if anybody else is doing this.
I will do that. So I will get that all done. And then off we go to the races. Have a wonderful day.
We will talk to you tomorrow.
