New Prophecy in the 2nd Century and Beyond
from The Lovesick Scribe Podcast · host Dawn Hill
In the middle of the second century, a man by the name of Montanus arrived in Phrygia and began displaying ecstatic utterances alongside two women who ultimately left their husbands to participate as prophetesses of what would be called the New Prophecy. This movement focused on several things, but the basis of this movement rested on divine revelation given by the Holy Spirit. Montanism is said to have died centuries ago, but as we look through history and even today in the current hyper charismatic/ NAR movement, there appears to be echoes of their practices and beliefs. Join me as we take a look at the history of Montanism and numerous clips from today that could be hearkening back to this time. www.originalchristianity.net/?p=5777 Montanism:The Story Pentecostal Movements (talentshare.org) The Prophetic Calling of Every Believer (cicministry.org) My info: Website: http://www.lovesickscribe.com Subscribe to my blog here: http://eepurl.com/dfZ-uH Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lovesickscribe/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lovesickscribeblog If you found this podcast helpful, please share it with others and leave a good review
