The Eurasia Center is a 501(c)(3) Federally recognized non-profit organization promoting positive relations between America and the 103 nations of Eurasia through progressive programs, activities, grants, and internships. The Eurasia Center and its Eurasian Business Coalition have been an important hub of activity and a meeting place for networking, scholarship, publishing, and idea exchange among diplomats, government, business, investment, economic development, education, health care, and environmental sustainable development leaders engaged to promote the ideals of peace, democracy, economic cooperation, environmental quality, and homeland security since 1988. The EC/EBC annually organizes and runs major international conferences in Washington DC, including ‘The Silk Road Summit – Exploring Business, Trade & Investment Activities on the New Silk Road’; ‘Doing Business with the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China & South Africa)’; and ‘Doing Business with the Eurasia Economic Union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan & Armenia). FED/Contracting, LLC is a Veteran-owned consultancy that facilitates access to Federal and Military contracts for Small Businesses, assists them in implementing teaming arrangements and Mentor-Protégé partnerships with Prime Contractors, and supports large Prime Contractors in fulfilling their mandated Diversity Supplier subcontracting mandates. The firm provides advisory services in Federal Acquisition Regulations, Small Business ‘set-aside’ opportunities, Mentor-Protégé matchmaking, multi-year Govt. contract vehicles, joint-venture formation, business development/marketing strategies and bid proposal development. This group also assists foreign companies gain footholds in U.S. Government and Defense contracting, through alliances with large and small American contractors and business intelligence services tailored to their specific industry sector capabilities, interests and objectives. Lilya Pavlovic Dear is an internationally recognized artist who has worked on this theme since 1994. She has had solo shows on the theme of the Silk Road in Washington D.C., New York, Paris, Hamburg, Avignon and Xi’an. Her book Marco Polo on the Silk Road received the Grand Prix Botticelli from the Society of French Poets in 2008. She has had more than 60 solo shows and 200 group shows. Her art works are in numerous public and private collections. Lilya is a Paris based artist who examines the past and connects it to the present globalization, as well as the process of multiple influences between east and west. The video is built as a collage of actual landscapes through which the Silk Road is passing and paintings and photographs and historical documents are overlapping those landscapes. The video is accompanied by music of various countries. She also found a 13th century manuscript, “The Book of Wonders” or “Le Livres des Merveilles” when researching the 600 years celebration of Columbus discoveries.
