I remember that I’d been wanting to lay down a soul session for a while. I’d done the odd soul tape, but found RnB difficult to beat mix as the bpms can vary so much. Anyway, I’d just started going out with John L, whose best friend was something of a soul girl. Her birthday presented the perfect opportunity to get this recorded. I did it in one evening, but it took a few hours to perfect.
