Barba*rossa (deck building card game) This is a weird one, a Japanese card game in the vein of Dominion, but with a very off-putting theme and doubling down with off-putting art. This is John's pick for Weird - and it certainly fits. Originally published in Japan in 2010 and lapsing out of print in 2013 an English translation was kickstarted in 2015. The players take the role of German generals in WWII who are mounting a campaign against Russia. Oh, and all the troops are represented by scantily clad manga illustrations. A historical photograph version was also printed, it may be more disturbing because it is far less absurd and lets the theme really stand out.
