I say early on that I dreamed of being able to talk with an athlete on our show under the principle that it is a very good idea to explore ideas with people who have lived a life very different than one's own.  Though the example I used was of an anonymous football quarterback, I finally did get to speak with an athlete, in this case Olympic Marathon runner Doug Kurtis. Doug is a phenomenal runner but of course he is much more.  He has been a sportswriter in Michigan, worked in the auto industry in Detori and continues to be a motivational speaker.
