New years Specials: This is only the start of raising awareness of Crohn's Disease - With Lucy

Welcome back to the podcast, after a few weeks break as the New years specials continue, I am joined with Lucy who recently started speaking about her Crohn's journey via social media and sharing her story with Crohn's & Colitis UK. Lucy was diagnosed July 2020 at the start of the pandemic which was a hard time for as she had never heard of Crohn's before in her life. Lucy speaks about her journey on her first ever podcast!  Lucy was diagnosed pretty quickly via a sigmoidoscopy she talks about experience and with Gas and Air. Lucy's friend helped her to speak out as she spoke out and had a really good response, when Lucy shared her story she got a very good response!  We also speak about hobbies, fundraising and how being immunocompromised isn't the best but all we can do is live the best life we can!  Great advise by Lucy - Having open and honest conversations are very important which really boosts your confidence, and getting involved in research projects is something for people who have IBD is great to do, that is what Lucy is doing at the moment!  This a great first episode recorded of the year with the wonderful Lucy, we hope you enjoyed it and see you in the next one, Thank you again Lucy, you was amazing!
