New York City's Residential Property Tax: Policy and Politcs

Politics and policies surrounding New York City property taxes and are discussed in a seminar held by the School of Public Affairs. Tax burdens and current assesment methods for different classes of property are illustrated and debated in a panel discussion. Opeing remarks are made by Barabara Fife, Director of External Affairs & Executive programs at the School of Public Affairs and David Weprin, New York City Council member. Dal Forsythe, Distinguished Lecturer at the School of Public Affairs serves as the panel moderator. Panelists include: Larian Angelo, Director, Finance Division , New York City Council; Dick Netzer, Adjunct Professor, New York University; Martha Stark, Esq., New York City Finance Commissioner; and George Sweeting, Deputy Director, New York City Independent Budget Office.
