The annual campaign, held in partnership with the National Weather Service (NWS), aims to remind New Yorkers about the dangers of flooding and how to prepare for emergencies.The NWS emphasizes that flooding can occur any time of year in New York, urging residents to stay informed about weather and river forecasts, especially those living near streams or rivers. The increased risk of flooding is a growing concern nationwide due to climate change.
