Family and friends are mourning 26-year-old Bryn Waite, a former Service High School athlete from Anchorage whose body was found offshore near San Diego’s La Jolla Shores Beach last week. One woman was killed and two juveniles were hospitalized with serious injuries early Tuesday morning in a car crash, according to the Anchorage Police Department. Residents of Southcentral Alaska are being told to brace for higher energy costs and the possibility of rolling blackouts this winter, especially if lower temperatures prevail.
