Assembly members are set to vote on new funding to upgrade the Anchorage Police Department's crime monitoring center tonight. A section of Lacey Street between First and Second Avenue in downtown Fairbanks will remain closed to vehicle traffic this winter, as the City of Fairbanks continues to use the space for activities and businesses. The stage is set for Alaska’s November election following weeks of drip-fed results from the elections division and uncertainty over candidates staying in or dropping out.
