NEWS CONFERENCE - Cobb Fire celebrates life-saving new technology - Trauma Gel

Listen to the news conference held at Fire Station #1.  Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services was one of only six agencies nationwide selected to participate in a clinical trial of an advanced hemostatic agent that rapidly controls severe bleeding. Throughout the trial, crews utilized the gel 15 times on injuries ranging from head lacerations (on blood thinners) to gunshot wounds and stabbings. The department made national history by being the first to use the gel on a first responder in the field — a milestone now being honored by the Cresilon Heroes Program with a challenge coin presentation recognizing this life-saving deployment and the department’s clinical trial success.
