News Roundtable: The King and AI

On this week’s News Roundtable episode, Chris Wright CBE is joined by political commentator Narinder Kaur, former Conservative MEP and Chairman of The Freedom Association, David Campbell Bannerman, political commentator Leon Nesbeth, and political commentator Suzanne Evans. Chris had no choice but to kick off the conversation with the King’s Coronation. Our politically diverse panel argues how important the Royal Family is to Britons today and tells us their thoughts on Charles’ plans of modernisation. The discussion moves to Sue Gray and whether the Tories are making a mountain out of a molehill or whether she has acted unrighteously. How scared are you about AI is the next question, in a week when its ‘godfather’ Geoffrey Hinton has resigned from Google, warning of the dangers of AI’s superior intelligence to our own. We end by analysing the case of police seizing golliwogs from an Essex pub that had several on display in the establishment. This does get quite heated, with half the panel on the anti-racist end of the spectrum and the other half on the freedom of speech at all-cost end.
