With the reality of COVID-19 and quarantine keeping Americans stuck indoors, it can be tough to face the day. However, good news still exists, even in times like these. I’m 90.5 KCSU News Director Max Hunter and This is… NEWS TO CURE THE BLUES The Taste of Fort Collins is Still On One of the hardest parts of being quarantined is missing all the fun events that had to be cancelled this spring. Thankfully, one local classic is still on: The Taste of Fort Collins!  While it has been pushed back to July 25th and 26th, the festival will still be happening. According to NorthFortyNews, the headlining bands will be Collective Soul, and Spin Doctors.  Local Hero Saves Easter for Kids Easter was last Sunday, but unlike most years there was very little egg hunting. Since social distancing guidelines are in place, Easter parties had to take place indoors, and public celebration was impossible. In Fort Collins however, the Easter Bunny still came to town. Kelsey Wade, a local 16 year-old, already had a bunny costume she’d made at home. On Easter Sunday she went all over Fort Collins to surprise kids as the Easter Bunny, responding to requests on her Nextdoor page. She spent most of the day bringing joy to local children. According to the Coloradoan, Wade isn’t even christian, she just felt that she had a way to spread joy during a difficult time. While kids still had to practice social distancing from Kelsey, she was still able to bring some Easter cheer in houses this year. LEGO Begins Building Visors, Donating to Kids in Need Help can come from the most unlikely places. The LEGO company, based in Denmark has decided to stop building 10-foot tall Star Wars characters, and to start making visors. The visors, made from LEGO plastic, are for healthcare workers to protect their eyes from being exposed to COVID-19. They say in their Instagram post, they can produce more than 13,000 visors a day. LEGO is also giving back to their biggest supporters: kids! The LEGO Foundation donated 50 million dollars to Education Cannot Wait, an organization which helps provide education to children worldwide.  They are also donating 500,000 LEGO sets to children in need.
