His surprise win has been hailed as a path forward for Democrats around the US who are struggling to connect with the American people. Back in Australia, the Coalition continues to tear itself apart. The Liberals are poised to ditch their net zero pledge after conservative powerbrokers urged Sussan Ley to follow the Nationals in dumping the emissions reduction target.
