Newton Mayor Randy Ervin Part 1

This is part 1 of a 2 part podcast interview I did with Newton Mayor Randy Irvin. Most of my podcast don't go 40 minutes so I chopped up this podcast into 2 segments. The second part of this interview will be uploaded Monday night into Tuesday morning. In this wide ranging interview I speak with "Irv" about the harrassing texts, phone calls and emails he's been getting about the man who was arrested at a Newton City Council meeting a few years ago who took the city to court about his 1st amendment rights being violated. The judge recently ruled against the city. We also talk about Randy's pro active approach to fireworks, the city's controversial discussion about franchise fees and a brief conversation about a possible inclusive playground in Newton.
