Next Steps Initiative — Commitment and Unity

Using Nehemiah 3 , the rebuilding of Jerusalem's wall, this message asks a single practical question of a church facing a large task: what is this going to take? The repetitive list of names in the chapter becomes a study in people from every walk of life doing the work together. The teaching insists the building is only a tool; the mission is helping people take their next step in following Jesus. From Matthew 4:19, it defines a disciple as one who follows Jesus, is transformed daily by him, and is committed to his mission. What it takes, the message argues, is people who know God's hand is on the work, who are not afraid of labor, who put God first, and who come from every position with no excuses. A child's emptied piggy bank becomes the picture of the generosity and commitment being asked of everyone.
